BYDAN TOWN - The Place of New Beginnings!
Name your character and head downstairs to get some backstory on the hack. Afterwards, Prof. Wattles sent you a letter. Leave the house and go to the east end of town to find Wattles' lab. He wants you to find a special berry in the south forest. Enter this forest, which is Patter Forest, and head east to find the Spelc Berry. A Sceptile shows up, but is then called by its trainer to return. Return to the lab, go upstairs to deliver the berry, and now you can choose a starter between Turtwig, Fennekin, and Oshawott. After picking your starter, you will get a Potion, Poke Balls, and the Pokedex. Head out and west afterwards to get the Running Shoes when you pass your house.

Take the ferry to Light Island. Mart wares are the same as Freiv City. Enter the Colen Laboratory, but pick up a hidden Rare Candy on the ground between the three flowers.
COLEN LABORATORY
You go to the receptionist and Wattles will also greet you, telling you to soon meet him on the 4th floor. You need to use the right side of the elevator door to use it properly. Go to the 4th floor, as the 5th floor is restricted and there's nothing to do on the other floors. On the fourth floor Wattles is talking with Lori, you get introduced, then a quake occurs. Wattles and Lori investigate the second floor and ask you to stay here, but this isn't going to be an option. Go to the second floor and to the now-open room, where Wattles, Lori, and an officer are inspecting a large hole in the wall. The officer gets bashed to the opposite wall and the culprits reveal themselves, the same grunts from before who stole the kid's Pokemon. They are grunts from Team Void, and they are after the Shadow Crystal. You confront them back-to-back.
Trainers:
- Team Void Grunt: Sandile Lv13, Scraggy Lv14, P448

The cutscene afterwards is a little confusing as Darlo loses and it looks like the grunts were gonna take you into their helicopter, but they instead just leave you and Darlo here. The police realize they are missing a container with fuel cans. You're then told the next gym is in Spiritua City. You also get the first HM, Cut. You already have the second badge so you can use this now. Get the hidden Star Piece at the far north end and the Fire Stone here, then return to Route 4. There is a small hidden grotto here with a female trainer. She's scared of this Vespiquen in the area, and if you say yes, you will battle a Lv22 Vespiquen. For doing this, you get 5 Net Balls. Head left and then NW to see the grunts finish their mission, only for the Sceptile from the beginning to attack. Lori shows up, the Sceptile is her partner. Go to the shore under the bridge and before taking the steps there's a hidden Iron on the north tile. On the left side of the bridge is the grass and two Cheri Berries on one of the tiles just SW of the bridge. The cut trees lead back to Bydan Town, and east leads back to Freiv City.
Go to Route 3 north of Freiv City. You may notice that there's a cut tree here, but interacting with it does nothing. You can still get the item though. You need to head NW of the grotto (also NW where you chased Team Void after they stole a kid's Pokemon), surf north, east, and south to get the item, which is a Timer Ball. In Freiv City, surf east to access the Dark type gym.

You get a call from Lori upon leaving, as she's investigating but has been spotted. A Team Void grunt talks to you, giving you a recording of Shenow as he plans to raid Light Island. Head there now.
LIGHT ISLAND (revisited)
Lori comes to you at the docks. She says we must head to the restricted area of the lab, taking the elevator to the 5th floor. You receive a code for this floor. Enter and take the elevator to the fifth floor. Meet up with Lori who's battling grunts.
- Team Void Grunt: Toxicroak Lv29, Skuntank Lv29, P928
Down two flights of steps is Lori again, who mentions that an elevator up ahead needs two keys. She says that the flanking rooms have the keys, so let's see the first room on the right.

Trainers:
- Team Void Grunt: Bronzong Lv30, Musharna Lv30, P960

IMPORTANT NOTE: Either save before you battle the two grunts and Shenow (which are all back-to-back) or make sure you win the entire thing in one sitting.
After beating Shenow he reveals he has taken Darlo, who's condition helps with what they need for the Shadow Crystal. Lori says we can fight back by taking the steps next to the reception desk on the first floor, as that is what we're going to next. Talk to Lori there and say Yes to set sail to Lost Island. Lori will tell you what to do. Surf north to the main island where there is first a PokeCenter. Mart wares are the same as Onepy City.
TEAM VOID H.Q
Lori says we must go get the Shadow Crystal and Darlo while attracting the least amount of attention possible, but battle if you must. This first hall has five doors and some steps. All of the doors have nothing of interest, such as scientists who don't battle, or guards who don't battle because they stare at screens or are asleep. Head downstairs. On the next floor, Lori tells you that the prison is to the right and the Shadow Crystal is to the left. You will be tasked with freeing Darlo, so you must go right.

- Team Void Grunt: Luxray Lv34, P1088
- Team Void Grunt: Crobat Lv34, P1088
- Team Void Grunt: Excadrill Lv35, P1120
Darlo says they took his DNA sample. Take TM21 Frustration in the cell and return to the intersection, this time going left. Lori comes out of the room injured just as you and Darlo enter, and after she leaves, you can enter the next door to confront Shenow, who's using the Shadow Crystal and Darlo's DNA for their big experiment. Turns out it was to bring back his father, but it seems that Darkrai emerges instead. Shenow catches it and is ready for his next phase, and he leaves. Pick up the Life Orb here. You also say you should check on Lori who will return to Light Island. Surf back to the sailor outside the HQ and you will go there. Enter the building and take the downstairs corridor. Step into the room for Lori to appear. Lori mentions three gems: blue, red, and yellow. The red is possibly in Lafo Cave, south of Ahi Town.
LAFO CAVE
Talk to Lori at the beginning and go along the path. Next floor.

Gem Guardian ???: Drifblim Lv35, Torkoal Lv35, Aggron Lv35, Charizard Lv36, Infernape Lv36, P1728 and the Red Gem
After the guardian leaves, Lori mentions that there is a golden moon-shaped stone hidden deep in Patter Forest, which resembles the yellow gem. She also says we need to enter the forest from Route 9 specifically. This is a route we haven't been to yet, but you can get to it by going west of Spiritua Town to Route 8 and then north through a previously-blocked route.

Now you need to head to the downstairs room on Light Island again. Down here, Lori reasons that the Blue Gem has to be underwater. She has arranged for a sailor to allow you to do more exploration. That sailor is the right sailor on Light Island (the left one will also take you to Lost Island if you ever want to head back there).
HOCEN CAVERN
Talk to Lori to dive down. Head north to immediately find the Blue Gem, but Team Void Grunts are here too. Three battles back-to-back.

Now you can get the Blue Gem. Lori then tells you that we should get going to Shoray City, as Mt. Disort is the place that Team Void is going to go to next.
SHORAY CITY - The chilly city
Mart wares are the same as Onepy City. There's nothing to do here as the gym is closed, most buildings are locked, the one that isn't has nothing, and you can't go west. Meet Lori at the NW cave.

Your Pokemon are also healed for this match as well and P2400 is the reward. Afterwards, Shenow has lost completely, and decides to stay in this Distortion World-style area while sending you back. The only thing here is a forest clearing, which has Darkrai. You have the choice to battle it at Lv60.
Now let's journey to Onepy City and go north to Route 13. No men blocking the way to the east, so go there and talk to the sailor to set sail for Hoenn.

Yes, this is the dock on Route 104. Lori will talk at first. The grass has fully-evolved Pokemon, and Petalburg Woods and Route 105 are blocked off. Head east to Petalburg City. Surf south upon entering to find a Rocky Helmet. Wally's old house is now the Petalburg Research House. The gym is destroyed, and Lori comments on this. Zapdos flies in the air as this happens, and it is heading towards Littleroot. Surf across the next pond to get a Rare Candy. Mart wares are the same as the league. Head to Route 102.

Oldate Town has the same mart wares as before, and nothing of actual interest. Well, actually, there's a bit of a glitch. A rock near the center has 48 Master Balls. Go to Route 101.

Lori stands there watching Zapdos, and asks you to try befriending it. Go ahead and try to catch the Lv50 legendary. This stops the rain around here (actually it doesn't, the rain continues when you leave the route and come back), but now you have another Pokemon to contend with, one that causes heavy snow in Rustboro. You can now go to Petalburg Woods.

Surf east and cut the tree to the south for TM26 Earthquake. Surf north for a Heart Scale, then head north to Rustboro. Still not a lot to do here, though there are people at least. Lori is in front of the PokeCenter. Talk to her and Articuno appears, moving in the direction of Verdanturf Town.

East of Rusturf Tunnel's entrance is a Premier Ball. Use Cut to get other items, including a Leaf Stone and a PP Up. Enter the tunnel. No Pokemon, just get the Timer Ball, Luxury Ball, and TM02 Dragon Claw (taking the left exit on the right side and going east through trees). At Verdanturf, the only thing here is to catch Lv50 Articuno. Lori says she'll go to Almia and tells you you can go rematch gym leaders now. Mart wares are the same here, but that does it for the Hoenn subquests. Remember that you have to fly back to Colen in order to return. You will have to go to Route 116 to actually fly back though. But before leaving, return to Oldale and head south to Littleroot. Enter the NW house (which is your old house) and check the TV to encounter Rotom at Lv45. In your old bedroom is a Mega Bracelet, but you can't use megas in this game since there's no mega stones.

You'll get a message from the creator asking you to explore any other areas you may have missed. And there's one place in particular. West of Chargy City, the swimmers are gone.

There's a Sun Stone on one of the islands, but that's it. The creator planned a post-game thing for this area but it never came to fruition. And if you have been following this guide, you have finished Saiph. Congratulations on doing so.
