Pokémon Dark Cry: The Legend of Giratina Hotfix Alpha version 2.6.7 Walkthrough by Olivia R.
Author: Olivia R.
You need a clean Pokemon Fire Red ROM (please Google it), a patching utility like Lunar IPS and a GBA Emulator (I used VBA) to play Pokemon Dark Cry (you can also google a pre-patched rom too).
This will be a strict text walkthrough of the rom hack featuring what you need to do to get through the game as well as the trainers and their Pokemon. This will cover the Hacksrepairman version fix of Dark Cry. And always, expect spoilers in this walkthrough. You have been warned.

Introduction
When you start the game, you'll be greeted by Professor Rowan this time. Go through the start screens as usual (the male player character is Gold/Ethan, while the female is apparently Solana from Pokemon Ranger). You can then name the rival character who is basically Barry from the Gen-4 games, of course you can name him whatever. The region we'll be going through is Trion.
The game starts in black and white in an undisclosed cave. To the south is a dead end, and there's steps and a cave exit to the east. The cave exit cannot be accessed, because this is a dream sequence. Take the steps, and you can go either SE or south on more steps. Actually, you have to go south, as the game prevents you from heading towards what looks like Team Rocket grunts that way. When you head east, the game takes over and you go to those Team Rocket grunts, who have found a Shadow Plate of sorts. They call their boss and the ritual commences, though things don't go exactly as planned. You then exit the dream sequence.
LONGHORN VILLAGE [LONG]
You are back in bed. No PC to use, but you can see the Wii and the Town Map. There's also a PokeRadio! Use it to play a random song in the soundtrack. Go downstairs when ready. Mom will stop you, tell you you're late, and give you the Running Shoes (GLITCH, for some reason the music is still playing as you get the jingle for the Running Shoes). Head outside when you're ready.

- Gyarados: 15% (super rod)
- Seadra: 4% (super rod)
- Psyduck: 1% (super rod)
(for some reason this is what was listed, but I was unable to catch any surfing mons when I was out here after I got Surf later on in the game)
The girl outside is named Lissy, a friend of yours. Apparently your character has finished both the Hoenn and Sinnoh leagues already. Enter the rival character's house to the west and talk to Daisy to get a Town Map. You can view the Mareep to the NE, as well as get the Potion to the west of the lab, but you can't leave yet, so you might as well enter the lab. Yes, Rowan is kind of an amnesiac, but realizes you have an appointment and that you're late. You then tell your dream about the Team Rocket guys and Rowan mentions a famous Sinnoh trainer who had the same thing. Said trainer cannot have her name given yet. You then get a choice, do you get your first Pokemon? Well it doesn't matter, you get to pick from a Grass, Fire, Water, or Electric type.
- If you choose Grass, you will have to pick from Bulbasaur, Chikorita, or Turtwig.
- If you choose Water, you will have to pick from Squirtle, Totodile, or Piplup.
- If you choose Fire, you will have to pick from Charmander, Cyndaquil, or Chimchar.
- If you choose Electric, you get only one starter, and it's...a Ukulele-holding Pichu! It cannot evolve but it is unique. It also has a Sound type to it.
You'll then get Poke Balls and the PokeDex from Rowan. You'll be told to go to Mt. Hydronic as well as to meet the rival character on Route 601, which is actually to the north from where you are.
ROUTE 601 [R601]
Possible Pokemon to find: Pidgey, Rattata, Hoothoot
Unfortunately I don't have a full listing of Pokemon to catch here. I think it may be because of differences in day/night, because I got all Hoothoots in the night and Pidgey and Rattata during the day. You can find a well, which has a keyhole. You can also get another Poke Ball to the right of the well. North of the well is the rival, and of course you'll have to battle him.
Rival (rival): P180, he will have a starter with a type advantage to yours, based on which you chose (for example if you chose Bulbasaur he'd have Charmander, if you had Totodile he'd have Chikorita, etc.). If you chose Pichu he will have Eevee.
Note that this game has an automatic trainer level cap increase, based on your highest-level Pokemon, which means that any trainer battle will scale to your level (in this case his Pokemon's level will equal yours no matter how hard you train).
He'll go to Itacis City to train. Keep heading up, two staircases, and you'll find the entrance to Mt. Hydronic (note: there's a "phantom" item to the north between the stairs, but it has nothing…yet). There's some rugged rocks south of the cave entrance, but you cannot get to the item there yet.

Mons found:
- Zubat: 44%
- Geodude: 40%
- Aron: 10%
- Rhyhorn: 4%
- Nosepass: 1%
- Clefairy: 1%
Lady Lass: Clefairy, P6000
Wow, the first trainer really gives P6000? Keep going on the path and you can head SE or north. SE first, perhaps?
Bug Catcher Richi: Caterpie, P120
Take the ladder and be careful here. You will want to get the item, and the way to do that is, from the ladder, head four tiles east, one north, two east, one south, and you can get the Parlyz Heal. I recommend that you backtrack the way you came, instead of falling in a hole, so that you don't end up somewhere unfamiliar. In any case, head back to the previous intersection and head north this time, up some steps. The old man here talks about the gimmick that the second floor has with cracked floors and getting lost should you fall. Head west from him, and keep going all the way west to a ladder. From the ladder, go one south, two west, two south, two east, two south, all the way west, and north and you can get the PP Up. Retrace your steps to the ladder and head north when you can.
Youngster Rick: Sentret, P480
If you head north there will be another intersection. To the west is another trainer.
Hiker Frank: Geodude, Onix, P720
The cave entrance at the intersection is unavailable at the moment, since you want to find that trainer that had the same dream as you. Head east.
Super Nerd Gary: Magnemite, Grimer, P720
Take the ladder for the next puzzle. Up here, head west from the ladder until you get to a cracked tile, then head north two, and head straight west and you are done with that area. Head west and enter the room there. You will find a hiker who can give you a hammer or pickaxe minigame, P1000 for a hammer and P2000 for a pickaxe. Choose one and you can "become" the hammer or pickaxe and run around in a field for two whole minutes. Basically, you go to a rock and hammer/axe it three times, and you can get an item from them. Items I got include Moon Stones, Fire Stones, Ethers, Max Ethers, Max Revives, Root Fossils, and color shards. There's probably more. If you want to burn cash on items, this is a good place to do so, but when you're ready, head south to another puzzle.
Head to the crack that is second from the right. Go south on it, then south one, west one, and pick up the Burn Heal. Head west one, south three, and west two. South and you are done with that puzzle. Another one directly to the south.
Head south on the rightmost crack you can, then west one, south two, and east and you can get to the ladder. You'll be at the surface and meet that trainer, named Elize. She reveals she is indeed the one who had the same dream, and that this place is known as the Torn World. Seems she even knows who you are and how you tried to stop Team Rocket when you yelled your name. The Torn world is a place where rocks and platforms move, disappear, and appear. The big shadow is the legendary Giratina, and it can distort the world. And yes, you are the chosen trainer to stop it. You're now going to battle Elize.
PKMN Trainer Elize: Growlithe, P600
Well she's confident that you can be the chosen one. That said, you can now leave this place. One thing I should note, you can train here on this summit of the mountain and the mons are around Lv8-12.
- Zubat: 49%

Remember, the exit is at the north end of the mountain, near the sign.
ROUTE 601 (revisited) [601R]
Get a Repel to the north. Keep following the path to Atlernion City. On this part of Route 601, in case it isn't nighttime or something, you can find Fisherman Carl, who will give you your first real mission.
Mission: There is a fish on my hook!
You will also get an Old Rod. Just fish here and you have a 100% chance of getting a Magikarp. If you need a PC, the next town has one. Yes, you need to have space in your party to have this thing. Return to Carl once you have one, show it to him, and you will battle him.
Fisherman Carl: Magikarp, P180
And with that, your first mission was easily finished! You also get the Old Rod for real and you also get P500 for the Poke Balls you may have used as a refund.
(note: there's an item on an unreachable cliff. This is a Rare Candy and I found it only by using the walk through walls gameshark code).
ATLERNION CITY [ALTE]
Mons found:
- Psyduck: 100% (surf), 5% (super rod)
- Magikarp: 100% (old rod), 20% (good rod)
- Poliwag: 60% (good rod) 40% (super rod)
- Poliwhirl: 40% (super rod)
- Goldeen: 20% (good rod)
- Gyarados: 15% (super rod)
There's already a number of things to do here. Directly to the north is a newsstand, which you can buy the paper for P3000. Which one you get is random, and you can embark on a mini-quest if you need to to get some items or rematch trainers. But you can only do so once each day, and you may not be able to access a certain area by that point yet. Enter the PokeCenter to the west. The bulletin on the west side will actually tell you about sidequests! Here they are:
- The Lost Mushrooms!
- Where is that item?!
- A race against time!
If you take the escalator the guy there will talk about special events, and if any are happening. I don't believe this has a big impact on the overall game though.
GLITCH: You cannot rate your Pokedex with Prof. Oak's PC in the PC options.
When you explore towns in this game, be prepared to find sidequests that will give you rewards. To the east, talk to the old man who rambles on about things, such as the leader of this gym, Gesina. You then fall asleep, and then will be asked to rest at the man's house. Choosing no just ends the prompt, while yes will let you visit the house, which is just to the north of the PokeCenter. And it's Francis' house, I'm guessing that's the name of the old man.
You can head inside and head upstairs to see an old, rusty PokeBall. I wonder what's in it? You can't take it. When you talk to old man Francis, you'll end up in your first (and as far as I know, only) story mission: Discover Torn World! You'll sleep and then be back at the cave from the beginning. Head directly north (if you deviate, you can find two exits, but cannot enter any due to it being a dream world). You'll summon the vortex to the Torn World.
This area is confusing. Move across the hole and go west to jump twice. Head to the south side and jump east. Jump south and east. Jump east across two more platforms by approaching the easternmost points to reveal platforms. Jump at the NE part, then head around and jump west. Attempt to head west and the game takes over, showing a platform further to the west. When you jump west again, you will be back at the start. Jump west twice to head back to that area over there. Jump across the new platform (press A to do so), then across to the next. Head south and you will hear a cry (sounds like Groudon, but it's explained to be Giratina later on) and lose consciousness. You'll then be back at Francis' house. Leave the bed to talk to Francis, who you talk to about the dream. And then, things get revealed. Francis changes into...a Team Rocket Grunt! It's time for a battle.
Team Rocket Member: Ekans, P252
He then sends a Voltorb out, using Explosion on the north wall to flee. No, you can't follow him. But what you can do is head upstairs to check on the PokeBall. When you attempt to get the Poke Ball in Francis' house, the game prompts you that taking things that don't belong to you will affect your karma level and affect the storyline. Furthermore, you cannot use B to back out from these! Choose whether to take the Poke Ball or not.
- Choose Yes and you get a Grimer. You also get +10 bad karma and some info about Grimer.
- Choose No to get +10 good karma and the new mission: Return the old PokeBall!
If you chose No, the game will prompt you to return it to the PokeCenter. Do so, and you will actually get a shiny Oddish as a reward! (note: in both cases, if you have a full team, the mon will be sent to the PC without naming it).
Go to Kayla's house and talk to her to receive a mission.
Mission: Where is that item?!
You're asked to find a Meteor Detector, which is located in Route 601. Go back through Mt. Hydronic and to the other side, then go between the steps and to the northernmost point. Press A and you have the Meteor Detector! Return to Kayla to give it to her. Your reward is TM04 Calm Mind.
The PokeMart has another mission, though it is timed and I recommend that you get some Repels before you take it. If you're lacking in money you might want to save this mission for later. Here are the wares:
- Poke Ball: P200
- Potion: P300
- Antidote: P100
- Parlyz Heal: P200
- Awakening: P250
- Burn Heal: P250
- Repel: P350
The mission he offers: A race against time!
Within only 8 minutes, you are to deliver a package to Prof. Rowan, and then bring the money he gives back. Yes, a two-parter. Technically, you can do it without Repels, but having them mitigates the hassle of wild encounters. Go to Rowan to get P500 (the package is the next-gen PokeDexes), then run right back to the Mart vendor and you will get a Nugget as your prize. The Nugget can of course be sold, but it does play a part in a certain mon's evolution if you're interested, so you may want to keep at least one.
If you go to Karin's house, talk to the old man to get the next mission. He's been paralyzed due to Paras in the forest, and is looking for Tinymushrooms. And you are allowed to go into Purity Forest by the way (the west path out of Atlernion City is blocked by a "tree", and the game won't let you go south until you beat the gym).
Mission: The lost mushrooms!
PURITY FOREST [PURI]

- Metapod: 5%

You must find five TinyMushrooms for this quest. First, head NW and in a small corner is a mushroom-like sprite. This contains one TinyMushroom. There's a trainer to the east.
Bug Catcher William: Wurmple, P40
The mushroom south of him is actually a Paras! Avoid it unless you want some experience. To the north of the trainer is a Celebi statue that you can't really do anything about. Head west, a bit south from the first TinyMushroom, then further west until you see a Metapod. To the south, you can get another TinyMushroom. Head due north and find another trainer.
Bug Maniac Lucas: Spinarak, Paras, P600
Another Paras is in the mushroom patch to the west. Head east instead, all the way east and south to your third TinyMushroom. Head back a bit, then north and west. The fourth TinyMushroom is here! Keep going north and east.
Bug Catcher Ian: Beedrill, P48
Head east, to some steps, and remember where they are as you continue east, then south to a Great Ball. Back to the steps, take them and follow the path up some steps, then SE. Before the clearing up ahead, you can claim a fifth TinyMushroom. You can head back now, or you can go into the clearing and then north to, something quite familiar. Yep, that's the famous Team Rocket Goons from the anime, trying to get a trainer's Combee. Meowth explains things which show a different cutscene of what appears to be Giovanni looking at a bunch of Combee. You interrupt their steal, and for some reason they do recognize you. And yes, they do "sing" their motto (I don't recall the motto being sung in the anime) before you initiate battle.
Team Rocket Jesse&James: Seviper, Cacnea, P784 (double battle)
While they seem to want the trainer's mon, you apparently use your leading Pokemon to use Tackle (this is even if it doesn't know that move currently) and Team Rocket is blasting off again. Your reward for saving her is a Zinc. Hmm, could this be who I think it is? Anyways, before leaving the forest, get the Repel to the NE. We're done here.
Back in the city, the gym is accessible (you couldn't enter it before). Enter Karin's house and give the old man his mushrooms. Your reward is 5 Repeat Balls. Also Karin here talks about having captured a Tangela, and actually wants a Sentret. Though you most likely don't have that yet (I've checked the next route and even if you have a Sentret in your party, nothing happens when you talk to Karin). Time to get to the gym.
The gym has a gimmick similar to Bugsy's gym in HG/SS. Ride the Spinarakmobile and you can choose to go left or right. Left is blocked (notice the blue) so take the right path. Also do note, the trainers in this level do scale to yours, whichever mon of yours has the highest level they will be 2 above it.
Bug Maniac Francis: Metapod, Kakuna, P1800
There's a switch here, but if you head back on the mobile, you can head right or left. Right does nothing, but if you head left you can get to the next trainer.
Bug Catcher Winston: Silcoon, Beautifly, P64
You can use the Spinarakmobile to the north, but the way is blocked by blue wires. Head back to the first bug maniac and use the switch here (you need to board the Spinarakmobile and it will take you right back, then go on it again and head right). This removes the first blue path. Take the Spinarakmobile back to the start and choose left this time to get to another level. This will open up a path that the second Spinarakmobile has to cross, to the left. Take it in that direction.
Twins Alyse&Alyson: Spinarak, Ledyba, P288 (double battle)
Flip this lever and you unlock the last blue path. You can either go straight to the leader or you can challenge the last trainer on the right.
Bug Catcher Eustace: Butterfree, P72
The leader's mons will be about 5 levels above your strongest mon.
Leader Gesina: Metapod, Combee, P4000, Locito Badge, and TM09 Bullet Seed.
You'll be told that you can use HM05, though we don't have that yet. Also you can go to Route 602 to the south now. You still can't go west because of the tree there.

To the west is Itacis City and to the south is Xanateos Cave. First, head south a bit, then east and north for an Awakening.
Head west now. A man guards the Tomb of Kha'laba, and you can take a mission with him, but we're going to check the rest of the route out first. A trainer is nearby.
Cooltrainer Jonathan: Sandshrew, Seedot, P672
The next person you see is a hiker named Carlos, who is looking for his hammer, which he somehow lost at Xanateos Cave. Again, we'll save this mission until we're done exploring the route. Head east for another trainer.
Cooltrainer Cathy: Cubone, Mareep, P672
Keep going east, ignoring the path to the north.
Bug Catcher Theodore: Kakuna, Volbeat, P20
There is an HP Up here. Return to the previous intersection and go north.
Yes, there's Team Rocket grunts. One of which was "Francis"! He talks with a female grunt and they enter Xanateos Cave. While we can follow them, for now let's do a mission involving the guy at the Tomb of Kha'laba.
Chain mission: Explore the mysterious tomb Kha'laba!
Basically, you're brought in by Morris, but can't leave, and it's dark. Head straight north and inspect the tablet for a puzzle! You will want to get this pattern:
(puzzle pattern)
The ground will then shake, and both you and Morris will enter the floor below.
TOMB OF KHA'LABA [KHAL]
Morris will give you HM05 Flash, which you can now use! You of course have to talk with him in order to progress, cause the game will not allow you to progress without Flash.
Chain Mission: Find the old chart!
Head south, east, and to the door. While doing this, you will likely get into fixed encounters with a Ghost. You cannot do anything about it though, so just run each time. Head east into the next cave. This time, head counter-clockwise to the east cave. Ignore it and head north and you will find the old chart! Bring it back to Morris (don't worry about the cave here, you can't do anything there yet).
Chain mission: The hidden power!
This time, you must head to that cave to the east of where you got the chart. Head counter-clockwise and up to the top to find that purple crystal (if you went here earlier, you wouldn't have been able to pick it up). You'll obtain the crystal, and once again you'll have to go to Morris. Note that after you get the crystal, you can now catch Unowns. They are still fixed encounters and can actually be annoying, especially since you are backtracking a lot. After returning to Morris, you will get 20🟡, and he'll take a while to make a rope. Those are Trion Tokens, and we'll be heading to Itacis City soon to see how they're used. There's nothing else to do but wait, if you head back to the purple crystal room, there's boarded-up areas to the east which you can't do anything with. Back on Route 602, well, we'll avoid the hiker for now and head right into the Xanateos Cave.

Time to fight some Rocket grunts! Median level is +1.
Team Rocket Grunt: Rattata, Zubat, P364 Team Rocket Grunt: Sandshrew, Rattata, Zubat, P308
Head west, then south two stairs to get a Green Scarf. If you head back, then west and south, you'll find a dead end area, but there is a grunt here.
Team Rocket Grunt: Rattata, Sandshrew, P364
To the north is a ladder and a grunt.
Team Rocket Grunt: Zubat, Ekans, P308
Head west and north on the next floor.
Team Rocket Grunt: Machop, Drowzee, P476
Head north and then east and onto the rock to pick up the Ether. Remember the hammer when we do the sidequest and battle another grunt when you get back down.
Team Rocket Grunt: Ekans, Zubat, P420
Go up, and you'll see the grunt that was "Francis" again with the female grunt. Now you get another choice! You can choose to join the Team Rocket cause, or you can elect not to.
Join: You get -10 karma and get A Eggcelent plan! as your next story mission as well as a Bagon. Elize is worried about this choice, as are the grunts who also aren't really trusting. In An Eggcelent Plan!, you will be informed that Team Rocket is given a Bagon which will be used for small entrances. You'll be loaned the Bagon and will enter a secret entrance. Take the ladder. Talk to the female grunt and you have to follow "Sebastian's" command (who's Sebastian here?). It's unfortunately a timed mission at 20 seconds.
Story mission: Follow that Bagon... I mean that egg!
This lets you control a Bagon in a different segment. All you gotta do is head SE and pick up the small yellow thing, then run back in the time limit (some rocks block the best way back). Return to the entrance and talk to the grunt following it. They have also found the crystal cavern in this cave, so they're all heading there now. You'll be back at the place where you found the previous grunts and made your choice.
Don't Join: +10 karma and the story mission A Faithful return! Elize will appear and you will battle with her. You'll battle the male one.
Team Rocket Member: Koffing, Arbok, P308
You'll get 10🟡 from Elize for this decision. Keep going east and south.
Team Rocket Grunt: Raticate, Zubat, P560 Team Rocket Grunt: Drowzee, Machop, P588
For some reason, these grunts are strangely scripted, so they seem glitchy when they go to you. This is because if you picked "Join" earlier, they won't battle you at all. In either case, go to the ladder.
Mons found (lower section):
- Zubat: 30%
- Geodude: 30%
- Rattata: 20%
- Makuhita: 9%
- Machop: 5%

- Abra: 1%
- Sableye: 1%
Go north. In case you're wondering, this is the Crystal Lair. And you'll meet the classic Team Rocket goons again, wanting what looks like a Carracosta. It's actually a fakemon named Regiwater.
Team Rocket Jesse&James: Seviper, Victreebel, P280 (double battle)
Again your first-slot Pokemon will Tackle them making them blast off (which will happen even if your first-slot doesn't know the move). Go east and eventually you will notice that the two previous grunts (the one from before and the female) come in, chastising our favorite goons and throwing their egg plan in. Sadly the console says you cannot hear the upcoming story, but you might as well head on ahead to the ladder. Note the pickaxe as you do. Just a short series of caves and you're back on Route 602.
Side note: If you joined Team Rocket, you won't battle Jesse&James, as two other grunts help you out. You then are going to throw the egg towards Regiwater. A quake occurs making our familiar goons blast off. More quakes, and you're instructed to strike it with a sticky sender, which happens in cutscene. It then flees. The Rocket grunts with you get the promotion in place of Jesse&James. And then you receive 20🟡 for this!
But before that! We will go back to the hiker named Carlos on the familiar side of Route 602.
Chain mission: Return the old hammer!
Back to Xanateos Cave. Remember the floor where you had the karma choice? It's on the high rock. Return to Carlos to get 10🟡. He'll try again, but wait! He forgot his pickaxe. You should know it's in the crystal cave part of Xanateos Cave. Go to it! Note that you have to talk to Carlos again after returning his hammer, otherwise the mission won't work yet.
Chain mission: An unforgettable loss!
So once you go to the pickaxe, once again, you must backtrack to Carlos. You'll get another 10🟡.
Time for the final chain, eh? The moment has been arrived! You'll then be tasked to dig, with a Braille inscription! It has to be a specific key combination. It says "UP AND A". Hold Up and press A to get to the next one, "B BUTTON." Press B to get "START AND A." Hold Start and press A. This opens up the secret entrance!
Sadly you can't run in here. The down ladder doesn't go anywhere, so take the up ladder. Take the next ladder and at the end will be a Rare Candy. That's it here, for now. You'll be back with Surf at some point to tackle the down ladder, but do remember it for later. Head back through the Xanateos Cave now.
Back on Route 602, the first thing you wanna do is to head to the right. The north tile there has a Revive. Just head west, north, and west to get to the next town.
ITACIS CITY [ITAC]
To the north is a graveyard of sorts, the witcher here will give you a chain mission when you're ready, but we are FAR from ready in this case. The house there, notice the bookshelf? Can't do anything about it yet, but remember it for later because you clearly can tell it needs to be moved soon. Head south. The old man named Willy will tell you a story that leads to a unique mission, we'll get to it later. The house is nothing important, the coolgirl named Ashlee complains about people walking in without cleaning shoes, and the other girl, Maaike has a shiny Vulpix but wants an Aron. Though you won't get to trade if you have one. The next house is a Trion Token collector! Here's where you exchange your Trion Tokens.

To the south of there is a girl who's crying, and you can choose to deliver a postcard to her grave in the graveyard (this can affect karma). Since we don't have access to the graveyard yet, we'll ignore this for now. Head north and talk to Walter, here we have a mission we can actually take!
Daily mission: Missing Crystals!
Head back to the crystal part of Xanateos Cave and start picking at the crystals there until you get 5. The best thing to do is just mine at the same spot over and over again until you get one, then move on to another one once you found one. (the crystals are two tiles wide, you can get two from just one!). Once you have picked 5, return to Walter and you will get 2🟡 and P100. This is a daily mission, so you can return to Walter tomorrow to do it again for more money and tokens.

Wanted board:
- Wanted Mission: Capture a Rhyhorn! Give one to Youngster John for 10🟡 and P500
- Wanted Mission: Capture a Surskit! Give one to Coolgirl Ashlee for 10🟡 and P500
- Wanted Mission: Capture a Hoothoot! Give one to Hinker Chad for 5🟡 and P250
Each of these missions will take the mon from you after you get them. Hinker Chad is just south of the wooden board and Ashlee is also in the city. Youngster John is in a house near the gym. Remember, you can get Hoothoot from Route 601 in the evening, and Surskit is a 1% encounter in Purity Forest. Rhyhorn is in Mt. Hydronic.
You can't leave the town to the west until you beat Taivas. The officer won't let you go. So let's take on another gym. Here, talk to the old man, who will "fly you down", interesting. This gym has spikes and arrow tiles. Just go on the one you can to the other side and you'll get to the first trainer. Mon levels will be +2 your highest level.
Bird Keeper Benny: Spearow, Fearow, P696 Bird Keeper Perry: Spearow, Pidgey, Pidgey, Spearow, Spearow, P600
Go on the arrows you can and you're already at Taivas. He's the father of Johto gym leader Falkner and also is a Flying-type specialist. +5 your highest-level mon.
Leader Taivas: Pidgeotto, Skarmory, P500, Cloud Badge, and TM32 Double Team
Take the arrow tiles back, then take the first of some sidequests!
First, talk to the old man on the bench named Willy and he'll talk about your starter if you had Pichu. This is a unique mission, and I'm unsure if it changes based on your starter or not.
Unique mission: Reveal the truth!
Basically, he talks about a ukulele-holding Pikachu and time travel. And he mentions Granite City, and how they found a brand new Pokemon and such. He also mentions you should see Samantha back at Atlernion City, as she was the girlfriend of the discoverer. Samantha is outside near the forest entrance.
Unique mission: The legend of the guardian!
She reveals the old man's name from before is Wally. But I thought it was Willy. She talks about the guardian of the forest Pokemon, who I'm sure you'll all know is Celebi, and that there's a Celebi statue in Purity Forest. But you need two Trion region badges. You should have one after beating Taivas, and you'll receive a time flute from Samantha.
You need to use the time flute at the Celebi statue in Purity Forest. You can choose to go to the Past or the Future. If you choose Future, you'll be on the Moon, with some talking Clefairys. The one at the top will give you 1🟡 for bravely coming here. That's all you can do. Return and choose Past. You'll have the Ukulele Pichu play a melody and then you'll open a portal to the past.
A very nostalgic-looking location we got here! Go north to see a wooden shire, nothing to do here. Let's head east instead, going all the way east.
Bug Catcher Emanuel: Paras, Pineco, Paras, P84
A town is to the east but you can't enter anything. Head north.
Bug Catcher Randall: Combee, Silcoon, P72
The cave is Union Cave. Go to it and you'll lose consciousness and be back in the present at Purity Forest. You can't head back to the past now, but you can go back and talk to Samantha. Samantha remarks that that Union Cave was the place where she and Dave played around. She then says you need the Hayalet Badge now, which will take a while. Thankfully you're not timed here, so just continue your journey. Back at Itacis City, now that you've beaten Taivas, head back to the building near the graveyard entrance and talk to the granny. Accept this mission:
Mission: Move the books!
This is one of those "press the right buttons" things. These things are supposedly random, but actually they are in the same sequence:
- B
- Up+A
- (pause, you then move forward)
- Down+B
- Right+A
This is honestly a bit glitchy, as sometimes you have to press the first one and it counts it as wrong. Furthermore, you have a very small window to get each one. Do it right and you've pushed the shelf and now you can head up through the secret entrance.
The senior man outside will tell you about the Pokeathlon. We won't enter it, nor will we talk to the witcher or the little girl yet. The witcher has a chain mission to deal with which requires going to a future route, while the girl's mission deals with the graveyard we currently don't have access to.
Remember, your rival gave you HM01, so teach it to a mon and...return back to Route 602! Time for a little backtracking. Head east of the Atlernion entrance, cut a tree, and take the upper path.
Youngster Stuart: Natu, Doduo, P80
Enter the area here. It may not be here, but it can be in the nighttime. Don't worry about the item there, we don't have the right HM for it.

There's a Bike shop in the NW of town, but the guy is having trouble selling bikes. A mission is possible here, but we want to save this until we get to two more cities: Shinou and Gravidant, before this can really take off. Yeah, there's no other missions besides that one. Well, we can head left to Route 605, or we can head north to Route 604. We'll actually go left first, because this will help us with a mission a little later on.

If you keep going west, you'll be at Shinou City, but we're not ready to head there just yet. Let's first go cut the tree and head south and west to get TM36 Sludge Bomb. I know that there's a chain mission in Itacis City that requires entering this route. Sadly, we need Surf to make use of it too, so instead of beating around the bush, we're heading to Route 604 now.

Mission: Trade with Candace!
Basically all you need is a Timer Ball to get a PP Up, but also you'll get 10🟡 too. Very easy mission. Although she actually gives you an HP Up instead.
You'll also hear that Cassie, the leader here, is a Water-type specialist. Ron, the fisherman in the north house, will have a quest, which we will get to when we get to Route 614 to the east (don't worry, we won't explore that entire route due to the route being blocked by a lake). So let's try it!

If you head north from the last trainer and east, you can find a Trion Token. That's it for now. Go back to fisherman Ron in Gravidant City and accept his quest.
Mission: The Golden Magikarp!
Return to Route 614, sticking to the low areas as you run east. The golden Magikarp will be by the south edge of the lake. You'll automatically "catch" it. Return to Ron, and he'll get giddy and try to take it by force!
Fisherman Ron: Goldeen, Tentacool, P864
He'll realize that he gets greedy from gold stuff and asks you to keep it. You get 30🟡 for this mission. Shame you don't get a fishing rod. You do get the golden Magikarp at Lv15 if anything. Anyways, we're in the area, so let's try out Gravidant's gym.
Gravidant's gym sort of resembles a cave, but there's nothing of interest aside from two trainers. Cassie will have +5 levels than your own mons.
Swimmer Luis: Spheal, Chinchou, P92 Swimmer Dahlia: Buizel, P92 Leader Cassie: Staryu, Seadra, Gorebyss, P2400, Wave Badge, and TM03 Water Pulse
You can now use HM02 Fly! Yippee! Well, there's actually only one place to go right now, and that's to Shinou City. Remember, it's west of Route 605 and Luciva Town.

The name rater's house is directly to the north. To the south is Judith, who wants to have Rain Dance for the flowers, keep that in mind for later when you have either the TM or a mon that can naturally learn it (Poliwag for example). The nearby house is Seda's, and she gives you HM04 Strength. She also tells you you need Emma's badge. Near the PokeCenter, the board here actually allows you to trade items for Trion Tokens. Not the other way around. If you want Trion Tokens and don't want to sell items, this could be a good place. If you don't have a certain item, decline and try again. The other house here has the guy who gives you a Good Rod!

- Ultra Ball: P1200
- Great Ball: P600
- Super Potion: P700
- Revive: P1500
- Full Heal: P600

Find a place to fish a Poliwag with the Good Rod and level it up to Lv25 to get Rain Dance, which would be the earliest you can get this mission done. When ready, talk to Judith at the SE end of Shinou City for this mission.
Mission: Water the flowers!
Just bring your Rain Dance-r to Judith to make it rain! You'll get 35🟡 and even the Squirtbottle! This is used to get rid of the Sudowoodo that was over in Atlernion City's west side. We'll save this for later.
Before we head to the gym, we're going somewhere, Luciva Town to be exact. Enter the bike shop and let's help the poor guy get some customers.
Mission: Save the bike shop!
This mission I saved until now because it is much easier once you have both Gravidant City and Shinou City visited, as well as being able to use Fly.
- First off, leave the shop and the first customer is the lass on the right.
- Also in Luciva Town, there's a youngster west of the PokeMart who's interested. That's two.
- In Gravidant City, head north of the PokeMart, then east to the bird keeper, who is the third customer.
- Go to Shinou City now and head behind the PokeCenter. The chubby guy is looking for an easier way to do his job, and well he'll be the fourth customer!
- The last customer is in Shinou City, and it's the battle girl SW of the PokeCenter.
With five customers talked to, return to the bike shop in Luciva Town to receive 25🟡 and a Bicycle for your efforts.
Let's finish up Shinou City by taking on Emma in the gym. Remember, Ghost types. Also be wary, it's a teleporter maze!
Channeler Stacy: Sableye, P768
For the first batch of teleporters, they both take you to one directly north of it, and both lead to the same area. Here, get to the teleporter in the middle.
Psychic Cameron: Gastly, Gastly, Haunter, P480
Two trainers in the next area.
Psychic Tyron: Misdreavus, P480 Channeler Amanda: Shuppet, Haunter, P786
The correct teleporter, between the left and right, is the right one. +5 your highest level mon.
Leader Emma: Haunter, Misdreavus, Banette, P2500, Hayalet Badge, and TM30 Shadow Ball
Now you can use HM04 Strength too. To leave, take the teleporter away from Emma, then the left teleporter in the previous area and you're back. We've got some quests to do now.
Atlernion City once again, go to the west side and well you've seen this Sudowoodo before. Use the Squirtbottle and you can battle the Sudowoodo! West of there is Route 617, and you can catch some mons there, but there's nothing else to do until you get Surf.

Now that you have the Hayalet Badge, we can continue a chain quest by talking to Samantha in Atlernion City. Are you ready? She seems to think you must battle before you are ready.
Lady Samantha: Roserade, P6000
Doing this will allow you to explore that Union Cave place again. Hmm... Let's head there now by going back to Purity Forest, inspecting the statue, and you're back in the nostalgic Gen-2 world. Enter the cave. The path through it is more or less linear with zero encounters, so just exit out the other end. Keep going, you're now at Ilex Forest! The first trainer for some reason I didn't battle, he acted like I battled him already (it's Bug Catcher Manuel who would have a Butterfree). Go on to see Dave, who is with Celebi! He wants to go back to Samantha, and gets startled by your appearance.
Pokemaniac Dave: Haunter, Girafarig, P1632
Well he now knows why you're here and that Celebi may be of help. He'll get out of the way and you get to challenge Celebi! Do what you gotta do, and then you'll warp back to the present. Return to Samantha and she's happy, she'll give you a Rare Candy! Now return to Shinou City. You have the choice of either Route 606 or 608. The south path to Route 606 is where we'll head first, because Route 608 has a pond you have to cross to access anything back there.

Team Rocket Medea: Weepinbell, Misdreavus, Gliscor, P1008
Why's she laughing? It looks like she'll try to bribe you with a Nugget, and you will get another option choice. Choosing yes if you're foolish will give you -200 bad karma and get you currently good (and she'll escape with Smokescreen anyways), while choosing No will give you the Nugget and -200 good karma, making you evil. This choice kind of felt lost in translation since it looks like choosing the right option seems the opposite from what you'd think. Yes for staying good, No for staying evil. If you're greedy you'd pick the No option I guess. After your choice, get out.
You can continue on Route 606 now. After where the grunt is, head east and NE first to get a Lava Cookie, then head south.

So the PokeMart sells the same stuff as in Shinou City. Mira is near Rick's house nearby, she has a mission for players who have a free Moon Stone. Mira's mission is simple. Give away a Moon Stone! The best place to get one before this area is the mining thing on Mt. Hydronic, though it is random and you still spend money doing it. But it's a simple fetch mission that nets you 40🟡. In Rick's house, you can buy several stones.
- Hard Stone: P100
- Everstone: P200
- Magnet: P100
- Fire Stone: P2100
- Thunderstone: P2100
- Water Stone: P2100
- Leaf Stone: P2100
The house at the bottom has Phelia, who is a move deleter. Head west to see Medea talking with a Rocket boss I think we're all familiar with. And he doesn't seem to notice you, but Medea does. After some words, you can now head on Route 607 to the west.

Mart wares are the same as Shinou City and Rocky Village. Rhina is in the SW house and can teach Rock Slide. The NE house has Simon, who can give you a Glaceon! The museum here has Sun and Moon Stones on display, and an old man hints to certain evolutionary changes that may be of use. The museum here doubles as a library, and there's a few named people here. There's a guy named Astor at the bottom floor who's researching on Pendular. This may be something to look at later. The gym leader here is Armando, who is a Normal type specialist. But before you get to him, you must battle Elize again.
PKMN Trainer Elize: Seadra, Manectric, Vibrava, Arcanine, P560 and HM03 Surf
Of course, you can't use Surf until you beat this gym. Enter and you have four trainers, two to the left, two to the right. They quiz you. I'll list both trainer info and the right answers. You have to battle them if you get it wrong.

Before we start our Surf backtracking, let's check out the west side of town. Why's there a rocket admin? What's his deal? Surf across the pond to see why. That familiar set of grunts, which was "Francis" and the female with her have fallen in love and are thinking of deserting. Welp! Saying No to their offer does nothing, but you get a mission if you say Yes.
Mission: Team Rocket couple!
The admin is just south of the two.
Team Rocket Admin: Arbok, Crawdaunt, Ursaring, Steelix, P1036
Go back to the couple and you will get 75🟡!
SURF BACKTRACKING [SURF]
On the east side of Longhorn Village, it's possible to get these mons in the water.
- Magikarp: 100% (old rod), 20% (good rod)
- Psyduck: 90% (surf)
- Poliwag: 60% (good rod), 40% (super rod)
- Poliwhirl: 40% (super rod)

- Remoraid: 15% (super rod)
- Feebas: 5% (super rod)
- Lotad: 5% (surf)
- Lombre: 5% (surf)
There's a fisherman named Damian all the way to the east in Longhorn Village, he complains that he has somehow forgotten 10 Net Balls. If you have them (you can pay 80🟡 in Itacis City for 10 of them), you get this mission.
Mission: Help the fisherman!
You automatically get 10🟡 for helping him out here. Which I don't really understand. You can't accept this mission until you have the Net Balls in your inventory, and the earliest you can get it means you have a net loss of 70🟡. And when you accept the mission, you've already finished it. You also get an Ocean Bell as a key item.
On Route 601, you can go east of where you got your very first mission, and the mons there will be different.
- Magikarp: 100% (old rod), 20% (good rod)
- Psyduck: 65% (surf)
- Remoraid: 60% (good rod), 59% (super rod)
- Lotad: 30% (surf)
- Poliwhirl: 20% (good rod), 40% (super rod)
- Lombre: 5% (surf)
- Octillery: 1% (super rod)
With the Ocean Bell, this can be used on the well on Route 601. And you enter an underground part where you can catch Lugia!
At Atlernion City, surf across the SW pond to get a PP Max.
In Route 617, you can surf around here, but there's not much. A forest entrance, but you don't have something to scale the walls. There's also a girl named Fiora here, who won't tell you what she's doing here. We'll be back.
In Mythical Forest (on Route 602), you can get a Rare Candy to the west of the big pond. There's also...Suicune? Interacting with it takes you back to the forest entrance, instead of allowing you to face it.
On Route 602, go into the part of Xanateos Cave that you helped Carlos with. Remember how there were two paths? You can now surf on the down path. At the end of the path is a PP Max.
In the main part of Xanateos Cave, from the first entrance, make your way to the SW pond. Surf across it, take the ladder, and you'll find a guy named Easter who can teach you Dream Eater. Also in the crystal cave of Xanateos Cave, surf into the SE pond to find a Full Heal on the other side.
On Route 614, surf across to the first island and you can pick up TM18 Rain Dance there. If you didn't do it yet, you can do the mission in Shinou City now. If you continue surfing across the large lake, there's an HP Up located at the NE side. There's a fisherman on the other side of the big lake.
Fisherman Ned: Qwilfish, Cloyster, Gyarados, P936
We're still doing backtracking for items with Surf, so we'll skip the next route (Route 613). This is especially since the wild Pokemon there are actually quite powerful.
Return to Itacis City and talk to the Witcher near the graveyard entrance to start a chain mission.
Chain Mission: Missing Pieces!
She mentions we must create a Shadow Tag, and to do so, we must get first place in three Pokeathlon games: Hurdle dash, Ring drop, and Disc catch. Getting first place gives you one of each piece of Shadow Tag. Looks like we got a place to go to. The Pokeathlon is at the NE end of Itacis City if you remember, and you probably accessed it from after that bookshelf-pushing mission. You can also surf there now. Only when you get there, the place is empty, and the hoster will already give you the three pieces right away. Return to the witcher who will try to craft the Shadow Tag, but will fail. We need spirit sludge now, and there's a witcher confidant at night on Route 605 somewhere there to get one! Let's head there. First, go to the NE pond and swim to the south side to get a Hyper Potion. Leave and head for the south end of the route. The witcher you need to talk to is across the big pond, and although she wants you to do something, she'll give the spirit sludge for free. Return to the witcher in Itacis City and you have now crafted the Shadow Tag. This allows you to enter the graveyard!
And what's there? An original legendary, Regighost! It's Lv50.
Time for another mission. There's a crying girl in Itacis City at the south end. Her grandmother had passed away, and wants to place a postcard to her grave.
- Choose no for -5 good karma and a rather unhappy girl.
- Choose yes for +5 good karma and the mission: Don't forget me!
She'll give you the postcard. Since you can enter the graveyard, go there and inspect the tombstone where Regighost was. Place the postcard and a ghostly grandma says thank you. Return to the girl, um, is the mission really done? This one doesn't seem to have a reward, though a video I watched showed that the reward was a Master Ball. Let's keep backtracking. On Route 606, go south of the crush girl trainer and surf across to find a Water Stone. That's about it. There's an interesting cave if you surf across a pond in a Rocky Village, but nothing's in there. On Mt. Hydronic, head to the south side, surf across a small pond, and you can find a Moon Stone. That's it for the backtracking! Our next destination is north of Shinou City.

She talks about how in this house, it's possible to find Darkrai. And to do that is to sleep in the bed. She's somewhat scared of it, so you do it. And it happens automatically, with Darkrai showing up. It's Lv50. After dealing with it, well, the admin is okay now that Darkrai is taken care of, but will still report how you ruined their plans there. That's it for the Nightfall Forest, but we'll be back soon. See you in Glowshire City!

The middle house has a man who used to work for the Day-Care Couple. He can actually sell Pokemon eggs for P2000. The house to the right of it is the trainer house, and you can hear from another person that the champion can rematch gym leaders by entering here. Since you're not champion yet, you don't have this luxury available. The house NE of the PokeCenter has Elijah, who sells every TM in the game! Woohoo! If you go north to Route 615, you'll be stopped by an officer who says the Elite Four are currently training and the league is closed right now. At the NW end across a pond is the entrance to Alendar Falls. Nothing of interest here right now, but I'll list the catches.
- Geodude: 70%
- Slugma: 30%
For this next quest, you'll need a Hyper Potion. East of the PokeCenter is Nalani, who's worried about her lost child. And she doesn't think the kid left the city.
Mission: The missing child!
The kid's name is Kenny, and he's actually in the NE part of town with a Cubone. He's looking after the injured Cubone and doesn't want to leave it. He needs a Hyper Potion. Give it to heal the Cubone. Kenny doesn't have anything to give you, but return to Nalani to get 50🟡.
For the next mission, you need 50 Poke Balls. Yes, 50 regular Poke Balls, which means you need to head back to a previous PokeMart that sells them (or pay 5🟡 in Itacis, probably a better idea if you've been hoarding tokens). After you have them, head to the house east of Nalani to find Margo, a student of Kurt's from Johto.
Mission: Craft Poke Balls!
All you need are 50 Poke Balls and your reward is 50🟡! Also, Margo will sell you Net, Dive, Nest, Repeat, Timer, and Luxury Balls for P1000 from now on!
Our next destination is NOT to the east this time, but back west. Return to Nightfall Forest and head as far west as you can to get to a new route!

Yep, there's a gym here, as well as a harbor that can take you to Faraway Island, though you need a ticket and it costs Trion Tokens to do so. The NE house is Sana's, and you can challenge her and other sisters.
Mission: Battle Sisters!
Battle Girl Sana: Hitmonlee, Kingler, Zangoose, Floatzel, P840
Now you gotta find her sisters. One is actually to the east of her house, and it's a double battle.
Cooltrainer Lissa: Staraptor, Kangaskhan, Gardevoir, Toxicroak, P4032
The last sister, Ryssa, is just on a beach SW of the PokeCenter. You have to battle her with just one Pokemon.
Lass Ryssa: Dragonite, P880
And after you beat both Ryssa and Lissa, you can go back to Sana to get 45🟡 for your wins. And the other house here belongs to Franky. Guess what, he's a fisherman who gives you the Super Rod!
If you want to sail to Faraway Island, you must pay 245🟡 in Itacis City for a Faraway Ticket. If you've been saving these, you can in fact have enough! Go to the sailor and you can go to Faraway Island! It's just a location for a legendary, so follow the path into the forest to find Mew!
Time for another gym. The main type for Regran's gym is Grass, and you have a regular maze to go through. It's actually possible to skip all the trainers and go straight for the leader if you take the right path.
Picnicker Ariana: Ivysaur, Tropius, Meganium, Weepinbell, P620 Picnicker Dana: Shroomish, Nuzleaf, Bayleef, P620 Cooltrainer Mary: Cacnea, Gloom, Weepinbell, Venusaur, P1736 Cooltrainer Samuel: Exeggutor, Tangela, Gloom, Breloom, Vileplume, P1736 Camper Liam: Tangela, Parasect, P620

With this badge you can now use Rock Smash. One place to use it in is Route 607. Surf across the east pond to the NE, then break a rock to find a Quick Claw. That's all for the backtracking for that HM! In Itacis City, two items that you would get via Rock Smash near the south end of town are a Stardust and an Energy Root, which for some reason disappeared in my first playthrough (when I did the evil route I saw them there). We're going to Route 610 next, which is east of Glowshire City.

Back on Route 610, we're heading west first. Surf in the pond and head west at the first fork, then SW, surfing across another pond. Head north to TM08 Bulk Up. Head east from the cave entrance now.

Mart has the same wares as the previous towns.
North of the sign is the mines. If you mine in ordinary ways, you can keep what you find, but if you are in volunteer mode, you will exchange what you got for Trion tokens. Mining ordinarily costs P6000, while volunteering costs P7800. You can mine for all sorts of stones and powders, and it's random but you can only mine seven times. South of the PokeCenter is Sarah's house, and she will teach Metronome. There's a Rocket grunt guarding the house to the south, but we'll hold off on that for now. East of the PokeCenter is Larry's house, and he's the Move Relearner. You'll need mushrooms. Outside his house, Jerome can teach the move Substitute. The house on the east side is home to Soala, and he'll sell Sun Stones for P2100.
Our gym leader here trains the Dragon types, but your rival comes to interrupt you when you try to enter.
Rival (rival): Golbat, Rapidash/Sharpedo, Gengar, (opposing starter), Heracross, P100
Before we go to the gym, what's up with the grunt in front of the SW house?
Team Rocket Grunt: Qwilfish, P1344
Yep, there's a Rocket Hideout here! Complete with arrow tiles.
Team Rocket Grunt: Weezing, Primeape, P1260
Use the south of two left tiles, head south between tiles, then use the right of two right tiles. Move two to the right, then two to the left. Take a right tile, then take the SW left tile. Next, take the right tile and you're done with the maze.
Team Rocket Grunt: Raichu, Ninetales, P1260
There's a grunt to the east, but he's not blocking the way on purpose, he swears! The lock is broken apparently and the elevator is just inaccessible. Just take the steps.
Team Rocket Grunt: Dusclops, P1260 Team Rocket Grunt: Weavile, P1288
The machines here are supposed to create Master Balls. The Team Rocket master is actually already on his way to Mt. Reversal to get Giratina. This is all according to Medea.
Team Rocket Medea: Crawdaunt, Luxray, Victreebel, Mismagius, Gliscor, P1540
Another choice! Choose Yes to get TWO Master Balls and even a Nugget. You also get -200 bad karma, possibly being a soul of justice (really good in other words). Medea will also tell you to go to Mt. Reversal of course. Choosing No only gives you one Master Ball and -200 good karma (you can be considered pure evil if this is the case).
Anyways, I think it's time for a gym. Dragon types and other dragon lookalikes are here.

If you head west of the fisherman, you can get a Magnet.
Cooltrainer Colin: Kingler, Gengar, Weezing, P1680

Yamada, who lives next to the PokeCenter, can teach Counter. Marvin, who is west of Yamada's house, can sell Big Mushrooms at P5000, handy for move relearning. Garrison, who's house is NW of the PokeCenter, teaches Explosion. Baya and Gia are the old couple running the day care, for your breeding purposes. Leon, who's at the north end of town, can teach Swords Dance. And then there's Mt. Reversal to look into...

Medea's here again and it's time to battle her. Unless you are on the evil path, in which case you won't battle her.
Team Rocket Medea: Crawdaunt, Luxray, Victreebel, Mismagius, Gliscor, P1540
Let's head down.
Team Rocket Grunt: Houndour, Grimer, Lucario, P1148
The first side cave you come across here has an Ultra Ball.
Team Rocket Grunt: Machoke, Muk, P1148 Team Rocket Grunt: Sableye, Hypno, P1148
Before checking out the side caves, talk to Elize. She'll heal your Pokemon. Now let's check these side caves out! Nothing in the two above you, though the second does have a grunt.
Team Rocket Grunt: Sandshrew, Houndoom, P1148
Head north. Move the Strength boulder and you can find an Exp. Share.
Team Rocket Grunt: Phanpy, Weezing, P1148
The cave east of this grunt has TM26 Earthquake. Go back to where Elize is and enter the next cave.
Team Rocket Grunt: Arbok, Dugtrio, P1148
Yeah, this guy was a trap. Head up to battle another grunt.
Team Rocket Grunt: Sneasel, Raticate, Golbat, P1148
Look who it is! You have to battle them.
Team Rocket Jesse&James: Wobbuffet, Dustox, Chimecho, Mr. Mime, Seviper, Cacturne, P280 (double battle)
Time to head into the cave! We see that Elize and your rival are battling grunts, so let's confront Giovanni. What? Did you think it was going to be someone else as Team Rocket's boss? It's Giovanni, seriously. In any case, he's after Giratina, and actually won't battle. He'll instead jump into the portal to the Torn World! The grunts are beaten, and your allies jump in too. This place by the way looks real familiar, doesn't it? It's like the cave from the intro. But before entering the portal to the Torn World, you have one extra thing to do. There's a cave at the north end. Enter it and go east all the way to get a Revive! Now get into the portal.
There are no encounters in the Torn World, but if you remember how to get through it like you did the first time, you must start by jumping around. Head SE, then to the SW corner and press A there to jump. SW corner again, and jump twice. Repeat for the next set of platforms. This time, NW corner, then north. NW corner again, then two to the west. South and east, then SW thrice and north thrice and you are where you need to be. Remember, he has mons that have +5 your highest level.
Boss Giovanni: Dugtrio, Honchkrow, Kangaskhan, Gliscor, Rhyperior, P5000
Yay, the boss is beat, and he leaves. The rival also leaves, we've got a league to still beat after all. Elize also mentions that Giratina is just sitting there, looking to actually be a testament rather than a legendary going out of control. In other words, it's up to you to get Giratina now! You don't have to but you certainly can.
However, if you are evil, you will immediately join Giovanni and will battle Elize and your rival. Or rather Elize, because Giovanni handles your rival here.
PKMN Trainer Elize: Glaceon, Scizor, Kingdra, Manectric, Flygon, Arcanine, P900
Giovanni wants to have Giratina's power, but then Giratina seems to attack everyone and they disappear, except you. You automatically capture Giratina in a cutscene. Medea shows up and is content that you can be the new leader (are we gonna presume that the rest of the people present were killed?). Medea also mentions that you can even be the league champion if you were to challenge it too.
When you're all done, you should now leave and continue your journey.
ROUTE 612 (revisited) [612R]
Cooltrainer Thalia: Sneasel, Ursaring, P2128
Head SW to get a Sun Stone. You have to head east from the trainer now.
Super Nerd Glenn: Onix, Muk, Forretress, P912
At the far east end, cut a tree and head to the easternmost end to get a Max Revive. Now head south.
Lass Olivia: Ivysaur, Luxray, P608
To the east is Miracle Forest.

Surf across the north pond to get TM22 Solarbeam, then head back and west, surfing across another pond.
Bug Catcher Conner: Butterfree, Shuckle, Scizor, P492 Lass Dalia: Aipom, Yanma, Granbull, P656
You don't need Cut to get further east, just head around at the north end. Raikou may also be here too! Keep going east and you will soon head south.
Bird Keeper Donald: Noctowl, Swellow, P984
Head SE from this trainer as much as you can. There's a hidden Leftovers here. West now to get back on track going south.
Camper Riley: Electabuzz, Meganium, P820 Picnicker Marcy: Combee, Parasect, Primeape, P100
The tree at the SE hides a Leaf Stone. The exit is south of the last trainer, leading to a small, encounter-less area of Route 612. Go to Willsum City!
Side note: Given that I managed to find Raikou in the forest, I decided to backtrack after I got to Willsum City. I found out that Regiwater, a new Regi, is available in Xanateos Cave, in the crystal cavern. I don't know when it actually became available, I'm guessing possibly after you defeated Giovanni though.

Since there was a town to buy Sun Stones, it only makes sense for another place to sell Moon Stones, and Willsum City is that place. Buy them for P2100 at Luna's house if you need them.
Enter Roni's house and you'll be tasked with something of importance, creating Climb Boots. These are used to get to all those locations you couldn't access those last few times! You need the following: 3 Escape Ropes, 2 Hard Stones, 1 Metal Powder, and 1 Magnet. With the exception of the Escape Ropes, you can do the mining in Pyrite City to get all of these, though it is random. Once you finish, return and you can get 25🟡 and your own pair of Climb Boots! Yippee! While it's tempting to test them out, we gotta check out the rest of this city first. A house here has Eldon, who can teach Body Slam. There's Isaac outside, but we'll hold off on him for now. What we will do is challenge our eighth and final gym! The leader is Gala, who is of the Psychic type.
Psychic Tasha: Jynx, Kirlia, Solrock, P820
The generators in the NW and NE will open doors south of you. The SW switch will open one door north, while the SE switch has a trainer guarding it.
Psychic Preston: Mr. Mime, P820
I believe the SE switch does the same thing the SW switch does. Move up and you'll have two more trainers and two more switches.
Psychic Hope: Xatu, P820 Cooltrainer Warren: Lunatone, Hypno, Kadabra, Slowking, P2296
The switches at the top will open the closest door to the south, not the one to the gym leader yet. Two more trainers and two Mewtwo statues are in these respective sides.
Psychic Johan: Baltoy, Kadabra, Bronzong, P820 Psychic Carly: Lucario, P820
Using either Mewtwo statue opens all the doors, so it's time to beat the leader.
Leader Gala: Jynx, Alakazam, Xatu, Gardevoir, Espeon, P4400, Magic Badge, and TM29 Psychic
CLIMB BOOTS BACKTRACKING [CLIB]
On Route 601, near the Mt. Hydronic entrance at the Longhorn Village side, climb down twice to get a Max Elixir.
Looking for a legendary? Go to Route 617 and enter the forest entrance at the west side. You'll find Ho-Oh on the top of a cliff!
In Route 602, if you entered from Atlernion City, the first cliff you see you can get a Max Revive. By the Mythical Forest entrance, a cliff hides TM04 Calm Mind. Also since I forgot to check last time, at the alternate entrance of Xanateos Cave, you can get a Water Stone from smashing a rock.
Enter Route 607 from Granite City and surf NE across the pond. Climb the rocks there to get a Star Piece.
On Route 610, on the north side, head to the NE pond, surf across, climb the rocks, and get the Revive. On the other side of Route 610, leading to Pyrite City, head west of the Molt Cave entrance and up a rock to get a PP Max. That's it for the backtracking! We've got several routes to check out, and even though you're tempted to go north to the PokeChampionLeague, it's not the time for that yet. East of Willsum City we'll head to next.

Hiker Trent: Marowak, Camerupt, P180
Well, actually, there's not much to the Sea Temple. Follow the path and ooh, doesn't that look familiar? A Heart Swap occurs to our favorite Team Rocket Goons, similar to what had happened in the Pokemon Ranger movie.
Team Rocket Jesse&James: Wobbuffet, Dustox, Chimecho, Mr. Mime, Seviper, Cacturne, P2800
After yet another showmanship Team Rocket goes away, and the egg becomes Manaphy. It immediately joins your team. If you're evil, however, you won't battle Team Rocket, instead you'll immediately make them blast off. This however means that you will have to battle Manaphy instead of automatically catch it. I'm sure this whole area is optional, but hey, I'm okay with that! Now we can prepare for our League journey, so fly on over to Glowshire City and go north.

There's a forest entrance near the end of the route. It's a hidden grotto where a girl named Fiona will try to protect a Shaymin, thinking you're a bad person. Elize shows up, she thinks she can heal it, but then Team Rocket arrives and you have to battle one of two grunts.
Team Rocket Grunt: Forretress, Rhydon, Hypno, P1400
Elize will give a Gracidea to Fiona. It will change Shaymin to Sky form. And because you're a main character, you will immediately be seen by Shaymin and it will just join you.
However, if you're on the evil path, you most definitely have to battle Fiona, as Elize isn't there and your grunts recognize you as a leader.
Lass Fiona: Vespiquen, Clefable, P800
Another case of your lead mon using Tackle, though much less comedic. Shaymin will also go to your party without a fight. And you're kind of a jerk to those two grunts, too.
Time to get to the league!
TRION LEAGUE [TRIO]
For some reason, you're not able to run in this area. There's a guy at the very west side, but he's not important, for now. Try to enter and yes, you have another rival battle (only on the good path). But he's a nice guy because he heals you before battling.
Rival (rival): Crobat, Snorlax, Rapidash/Sharpedo, Gengar, (opposing starter), Heracross, P100

Ultra Ball: P1200 Great Ball: P600 Full Restore: P3000 Max Potion: P2500 Revive: P1500 Full Heal: P700 Max Repel: P600
Mission: Hide And Seek Family!
Before we move on, one more mission to undertake! Return to Isaac, who was in Willsum City. He's a member of the Hide and Seek Family!
You must find two brothers and a sister. Let's go.
Fiora (Sister) — Route 617, west of Atlernion City. Head west a bit, then south and east to find her. Reward: 5🟡
Nic (Brother) — Gravidant City, at the NE pond, in a hiker outfit. Reward: 5🟡
Manella (Eldest Brother) — Trion League, at the west end of the League area. Reward: 5🟡
Return to Isaac to get 30🟡. That's it for missions!
Elite Four
Get prepared, you've got an Elite Four to deal with. But it's not going to be in linear order. You can do it in any order you wish, going from Ice, Fighting, Ground, and Electric. I'll list the teams in that order. Note that they will more or less be on the level of your highest level mon, and they don't seem to have custom movesets, some do have Sitrus Berries or such, but this is not like other Elite Four matches I know of with custom movesets and items. After you win against one, you are back in the receptionist room and can select another.
Elite Four Kody: Dewgong, Cloyster, Lapras, Glaceon, Mamoswine, Walrein, P5500
Elite Four Tana: Gallade, Hitmonchan, Hitmonlee, Hitmontop, Machamp (holds Sitrus Berry), Hariyama (holds Sitrus Berry), P5500
Elite Four Oscar: Quagsire, Camerupt, Claydol, Steelix, Torterra (holds Sitrus Berry), Flygon, P5500
Elite Four Megan: Lanturn, Ampharos, Magnezone, Electivire, Luxray (holds Sitrus Berry), Jolteon (holds Magnet), P5500
Champion
After finishing the Elite Four members in the order you wish, you're back in the receptionist room. Now you should get ready for the champion bout. I guess the creator decided to create an avatar of himself here to be the champion of Trion. Oddly, no new moves or items for his final battle. His mons are 5 above your highest level mon.
Champion Mitchel: Skarmory, Ninetales, Empoleon, Absol, Gardevoir, Gengar, P6500
Win for the usual Hall of Fame fare.
Post-Game Legendaries
There's actually not much in post-game content, though in Longhorn Village, people mention Ho-Oh has been flying around. If you've already been following this walkthrough, you probably already encountered it!
At this point, there are a number of post-game legendaries we can try catching.
Registeel — Route 604, NW end.
Articuno — Route 614, NW side.
Zapdos — Route 605, left side, over a cliffside.
Regirock — Route 607, NW side, climb the rocks.
Entei — In Granite City, enter the museum and talk to Flin in the first area. John Flin, the younger brother of Morris, if you remember he was the guy at the Tomb of Kha'laba. He had explored the place at the same time you did and had a special grass type Pokemon open the barred entrance there. And that's how he found Entei! He isn't confident in tracking the whereabouts of Entei, but he did find out it went to a cave in Rocky Village. Sure enough, if you surf behind the PokeCenter you can find Entei in that very cave!
Moltres — Route 611, north end.
Regice — Route 612, east side.
Rocket Hideout (Post-Game)
If you return to the Rocket Hideout, the grunt will no longer be blocking the elevator. I am unsure of exactly when this grunt will no longer block the elevator, but it probably is after you have confronted Giovanni in the Torn World. His dialogue will be different depending on whether or not you have joined Team Rocket, but you will still battle the guy since he insists on using Mewtwo to rule.
Team Rocket Admin: Golbat, Weezing, Machamp, Lickilicky, Mewtwo, P1540
After this battle you have a chance to get Mewtwo at Lv70.
Post-Game: Lost Time / Pendular
And that's sadly it for Suicune. I was trying to figure out how to get Suicune, it appears to be in the Mythical Forest, even before beating the League, but for some reason, even if you interact with it on its rock, it for some reason just teleports you to the entrance of the forest.
Though there is at least one more, but you've got to really go for it with regards to Trion Tokens. You need at the very least 660🟡 to buy broken parts, refer back to the special items in the Trion Token exchange in order to get the necessary parts. And you need all five. Return to Granite City and talk to Astor at the basement floor, who'll recognize the parts in your back. He'll try to assemble it, and surprise! You get sucked into a wormhole. Or not! Astor manages to get Pendular into the wormhole instead, preventing the library from going with it. He does let you explore the world of Pendular though.
This is Lost Time. The hole in front of you takes you back to the real world. This place functions a lot like the Torn World, where you jump across things. Jump east and then NW to get to Pendular!
Trainer House Rematches
One last thing, the trainer house in Glowshire City? Since you're champion now, this place is open. All the gym leaders, as well as your rival, Elize, Medea, and even Jesse&James are all here, and you can rematch them all! Elize, Jesse&James, and your rival will have the same teams from the last time you battled them, but here are the others for convenience (note that if you took the evil path, Elize, Jesse&James, and your rival will not be present).
Team Rocket Medea: Bronzong, Luxray, Crawdaunt, Victreebel, Mismagius, Gliscor
Leader Gesina: Shuckle, Scizor, Ninjask, Pinsir, Butterfree, Vespiquen
Leader Taivas: Pelipper, Noctowl, Mantine, Xatu, Pidgeot, Skarmory
Leader Cassie: Seaking, Octillery, Milotic, Starmie, Kingdra, Gorebyss
Leader Emma: Sableye, Shedinja, Dusclops, Misdreavus, Gengar, Banette
Leader Armando: Togetic, Tauros, Exploud, Slaking, Linoone, Snorlax
Leader Lamar: Sunflora, Shiftry, Breloom, Torterra, Leafeon, Victreebel
Leader Marcus: Dragonair, Aerodactyl, Charizard, Dragonite, Altaria, Salamence
Leader Gala: Wobbuffet, Jynx, Alakazam, Xatu, Gardevoir, Espeon
From what I can tell, that's it! Not much in post-game sadly, besides those trainers, legendaries, and anything that you probably have missed. It was somewhat of a fun game for what it offered, but much of it fell on the wayside for the standard Pokemon fare. Though it was interesting with the karma point system and the automatic level cap increases.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: What happens if you take the evil route? Are there any major differences between it and the good route?
A: If you take the evil route, you automatically catch Giratina and you won't have to battle Jesse&James in Sea Temple (but you will have to battle Manaphy). You also won't see Elize or your rival at the end stretch (they won't even be in the Trainer House in Glowshire City, Jesse&James also aren't there) and will have to battle Fiona at the hidden grotto before the league if you get to her. Other than that, much of the plot remains the same.
Q: How to get Pendular?
A: As of this writing, you need to collect the five broken parts by spending 660 Trion Tokens in Itacis City, then go to the Granite City museum and enter the last floor where you can talk to Astor to open a portal.
Q: Are there Pokemon you cannot obtain?
A: Good question. From what I see, some of them are: any of the starters you don't choose and their evolutions, Lickitung and Lickilicky, Kangaskhan, all the fossil mons and evolutions, Aipom and Ambipom, Yanma and Yanmega, Gligar and Gliscor, Skarmory, Stantler, Smoochum and Jynx, Elekid (+ evolutions), Magby (+ evolutions), Suicune (this one I can FIND Suicune in a forest but can't seem to interact with it), Wingull and Pelipper, Azurill (no Sea Incenses to breed), Volbeat, Torkoal, Swablu and Altaria, Castform, Chimecho, and Wynaut and Wobbuffet (not in the wild, no Lax Incense to breed).
I'd imagine that you can probably get some of these, like Volbeat or Yanma, via headbutting trees, but I don't have a full listing of what mons I usually get from trees and the ones I get are usually just Hoothoot. As for the rest, somehow they just aren't in any encounter list throughout the game, and there's nowhere else to really go post-game either. This hack wasn't really finished completely, so maybe that's a reason some of these aren't catchable.
Q: Hey, I'm trying to battle my rival in Route 601 and he says I cheated and I can't do it, what's happening?
A: It probably is because in case you decide to train in the wild (or cheat and use Rare Candies) to evolve your starter (unless it's Pichu), then he says that you cheated. It's not worth it to overlevel, especially not once you reach or go over the level of the wild Pokemon in the area.
