GURYANNA VILLAGE — The breeze of beginnings

Go through the intro and you'll be in your room. A Potion is in your PC as usual. Head downstairs and you'll see two people, an old man and a guy named Tutai. Tutai tells you that you need to meet Prof. Gillian in her lab. Leave now. If you head west, well, you can't head north yet, and Tutai's home is locked. To the south is an Omanyte you can't get to due to the scalable wall.

Head south from your house. Go west and then south. Near the steps, to the south between two flowers, is a hidden Potion. Keep heading south and you can't go further due to a Dragon Ball Z reference, so enter Gillian's lab.

You'll automatically go up to Gillian (who has Lorelei's sprite) with Tutai. Tutai's excited because Gillian is offering three rare Pokemon and he wants to be champion of the area. He'll let you choose first so that he can choose better (you know exactly what this means by now). The starters are, from left to right, Treecko, Mudkip, and Torchic — so yeah, the Hoenn starters. Pick one, then Tutai gets the one with the type advantage. You both then receive the PokeDex and Poke Balls; thankfully the game immediately has it for the National Dex. Tutai then leaves.

GLITCH: Yes, this is a beta, but you can apparently walk through the machine to the west.

Head back home and talk to Papa to get the Running Shoes. Try to leave and Tutai will stop you for a battle.

Trainer Pokemon Prize
Rival Tutai (opposing starter) Lv5 P1000

Beat him and he'll mention the crazy old man to the south and that he'll be going north to Serian Town. Nothing we can do about the old man, so head north to follow Tutai.

ROUTE 1

Mons found:

Pokemon Rate
Taillow 45%
Sentret 44%
Surskit 11%

You can interact with the Pikachu to the left, but it doesn't do anything special. However, inspect the nearby rock to find a Nugget! Now head east. You do have to do a mandatory catching tutorial, which isn't anything special other than the fact that Weedle isn't actually on this route. Keep heading east and around.

Trainer Pokemon Prize
Youngster Joey Rattata Lv3 P120
Bug Catcher Sam Caterpie Lv2, Metapod Lv2 P80

As you move along, an unknown trainer stops you, and he seems to have Brendan's sprite.

Trainer Pokemon Prize
PKMN Trainer ??? Anorith Lv6 P480

"Not Brendan" here seems to mention Team 1.5.1., an evil team in this region. He then reveals himself to be Simon, and I guess he can be trusted. As he leaves, just keep going. You can head west or east, but let's go east for now. Jump a ledge for a Full Heal, then get a hidden Super Repel in the trees west of the Full Heal. Jump and continue on the paths.

Trainer Pokemon Prize
Pokemaniac Bill Grimer Lv3 P144
Lass Janice Pidgey Lv3 P120

SERIAN TOWN — the town of pitstops

No time to head into town as what looks like a Rocket grunt bumps into you. Well, it's actually a Team 1.5.1. grunt instead.

Trainer Pokemon Prize
Team 1.5.1. Grunt Spoink Lv6 P360

The PokeCenters in this game look interesting, and the PokeMart is integrated with them.

There's not much else to note in town. One girl near the top says she lost a ruby on Route 1. Go and help her, and head back to Route 1. The Pikachu near the south entrance has moved, so you can enter the hidden grotto on Route 1.

Follow the Pikachu.

Keep following the Pikachu and you'll eventually battle it, where it is at Lv8. Defeat it or catch it and you'll have the Ruby. You can't get the item to the north, but you can stick around to catch some more Pokemon if you want. Return to the girl in Serian Town to give her the Ruby in exchange for a Rare Candy.

Anyways, you can try to head west, but there's trees on Route 3. So let's head back to Guryanna Village to see if that crazy old man has left the scene. And it turns out, he has! Time to head to Route 2.

You'll see a small cutscene as you go on. The 1.5.1. grunt you saw from before is late and will enter the nearby cave. While you can go after him now, there's one more trainer on the route I recommend battling, at the NE part of the route (you'll have to go some ways to get to him).

Trainer Pokemon Prize
Bird Keeper Darren Pidgey Lv4, Taillow Lv4, Spearow Lv6 P240

Now head back to the cave.

In the third cave you'll meet the boss, Butler, not happy that there's nothing important here. He's talking to the grunt from before, and when you're ready to battle, Simon shows up. He'll attack the grunt while Butler attacks you.

Trainer Pokemon Prize
Admin Butler Venonat Lv7 (Confusion, Tackle, Disable — holds Oran Berry), Larvitar Lv9 (Bite, Leer, Rock Throw — holds Lum Berry) P720

Well, they'll all run. Simon then says you should head to Striathon City to the south for the gym challenge. The exit is up to the north. Before going, Mew's cry is heard. Well, leave Deepblack Caverns back to Route 2 and head SE to the city.

STRIATHON CITY — The busy rookie gatherer

It's raining here and the fisherman to the east is asking for an Antidote. You can't even explore the city right now due to the city guide taking you around. To the gym, the PokeCenter, and also Mr. Cut's house. You at least get a Town Map for this. The mart wares in the PokeCenter are actually the exact same as in Serian Town, so I won't list them.

With an Antidote, go to the fisherman who will give you an Old Rod in return. We find out that Gareth, the leader of the gym, uses the Ground type. The old man outside Mr. Cut's house is actually not Mr. Cut, but some kind of elite trainer!

Trainer Pokemon Prize
Omega Shenron Magikarp Lv15 (Thunder, Sheer Cold, Fissure, Destiny Bond), Deoxys Lv16 (Thunder, Psycho Boost, Calm Mind, Ice Beam) P3200

I wouldn't recommend battling him to be honest. His team has a very surprising Magikarp and both are higher in level than the gym leader's Pokemon. That being said, his vision of eradicating the world is quite sinister, and if you do win, you see that he drops a Lucky Egg.

Anyways, get HM01 Cut from Mr. Cut inside. Nothing else of note, so let's enter the gym. The gym guide gives you a Fresh Water.

Trainer Pokemon Prize
Hiker Nappa Sandshrew Lv7 (Scratch, Rollout), Geodude Lv8 (Rock Throw, Tackle) P320
Leader Gareth Phanpy Lv11 (Tackle, Defense Curl, Rollout), Cubone Lv13 (Scratch, Bone Club, Magnitude) P2600 + Plate Badge + TM39 Magnitude

Now that you can Cut, head back to Serian Town and west to Route 3.

Trainer Pokemon Prize
Ace Trainer Sekial Cacnea Lv13, Growlithe Lv14, Croconaw Lv15 P1500

In the gatehouse, head upstairs and talk to a girl to get TM30 Shadow Ball.

WOLKAN CITY — the city of crossroads

You can't head west, and the nearest house here is locked. The house to the east will have a man who gives you the Itemfinder. The PokeMart has the same items as the previous towns. The gym leader here is Querla, a Bug-type specialist, but she's training in the Pokemon Tower at the moment. Not much else of interest; there is the old man in one house who will trade a Jynx if you have a Poliwhirl (this is probably unchanged from FR/LG). The Pokemon Tower is in the NW. This is the only place to go to, as the north and east exits are unfinished.

When you attempt to enter the gym, you'll battle Tutai.

Trainer Pokemon Prize
Rival Tutai Spearow Lv20, Larvitar Lv20, (opposing starter) Lv22 P4400

Head inside and talk to the gym guide for a Fresh Water.

When you leave the gym, the scene shifts to Simon and some officers. Simon needs to head west, and pushes through. The guards then reveal themselves to be Team 1.5.1. grunts the whole time. They run in the same direction in order to tell the boss. And while you can head there yourself, you can't, actually, as the path isn't done yet. In other words, yes, we have officially reached the end of this beta. Yeah, there's not much here, but I like to cover stuff as applicable and I do hope that this game does see some progress soon enough.
