Pokemon Dark Violet Final 2019 V1 Fixed

Detailed Walkthrough by Olivia R.

(Note: this is a ROM hack, I do not own this and will not distribute this hack, but I am the author of this walkthrough so if you use it credit me)

As a reminder, you need a clean Pokemon Fire Red ROM (please Google it), a patching utility like Lunar IPS and a GBA Emulator (I used VBA) to play Pokemon Dark Violet (you can also google a pre-patched rom too).

This will be a strict text walkthrough of the rom hack featuring what you need to do to get through the game as well as the trainers and their Pokemon. This will cover the Hacksrepairman version fix of Dark Violet. And always, expect spoilers in this walkthrough. You have been warned.

Features:

  • Entire game re-scripted & re-mapped from scratch
  • 210 Pokemon available
  • DS-style Pokemon sprites
  • 113 new moves from Gen 4 & 5
  • Physical/Special split
  • Redone music
  • New movesets based closely off of B2/W2 movesets
  • Map layouts based off of HG/SS

Table of Contents

CTRL-F and use the four-letter code in brackets to get to your chosen section.

As a reminder, this game takes place as an enhanced remake of Kanto, and there's only 210 Pokemon in the whole game. You'll be greeted by Oak, naturally, go through the dialogue as usual, choose your character, name, rival's name.

PALLET TOWN [PALL] - A Pure White Beginning

Mons found:

  • Magikarp: 100% (old rod), 20% (good rod)
  • Tentacool: 65% (surf)
  • Goldeen: 60% (good rod)
  • Kingler: 40% (super rod)

  • Gyarados: 1% (super rod)
  • Pelipper: 1% (surf)

You can use the PC to find 3 Oran berries. Also the console is a Wii and you can play Super Mario Galaxy 2 at home (not really). Head downstairs and Mom will let you know that you should head to Oak's to get your first Pokemon for your journey. Visit the other house to talk to Daisy and the unnamed brother (I really don't recall if there was a second sibling in the Oak family). A little funny thing can happen if you check the rival's PC, which mentions Facebook. His Wii has Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Let's check out the lab. Your opposite gender counterpart will be here, along with your rival (for future reference, I'll reference the male player character as Red, the female Green, and the main rival as Blue for easy convenience). The professor isn't here though.

In order to start our journey, you actually must go against intuition and try to head on Route 1. This would of course mean that Oak shows up. He takes you to the lab, and then you along with Blue and Red/Green get to see the three Pokemon that have recently hatched from eggs. And all three of you will get to pick one (which Blue didn't hear earlier). They are just the Kanto starters, so take your pick between Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle. Blue will of course take the one with the type advantage and Red/Green gets the last one which is at a disadvantage to your starter. Now Oak will ask for his package which is in Viridian City. You have control. No you can't take a PokeDex yet. Leave the lab and try to leave for Route 1. Blue wants to test the Pokemon so as you might expect, you're thrust into a battle.

PKMN Trainer Blue: (opposing starter) Lv5, P500

But this time, Red/Green will come in, and now you get to battle him/her!

PKMN Trainer Red/Green: (opposing starter) Lv5, P180

As a reminder, when I say (opposing starter), if you're battling Blue it will be the one with the type advantage to your starter and if you're battling Red/Green it will be the one with the type disadvantage. When you're ready, go to Route 1.

ROUTE 1 [RTE1]

Mons found:

  • Pidgey: 50%
  • Rattata: 50%

Talk to the clerk you see and you'll get a free sample of 10 Potions. Very good. Head north to the gate, and if you jump SW, you'll see a fruit-bearing trees. These can actually refill if you exit and re-enter the route, so these are really easy to get. Convenient, perhaps. Head north to Viridian City when you're ready.

VIRIDIAN CITY [VIRI] - The City of Evergreen

Mons found:

  • Magikarp: 100% (old rod), 20% (good rod)
  • Goldeen: 60% (good rod)
  • Marill: 60% (surf)
  • Seaking: 44% (super rod)
  • Poliwhirl: 41% (super rod)
  • Azumarill: 30% (surf)
  • Poliwag: 20% (good rod)
  • Gyarados: 15% (super rod)
  • Slowbro: 5% (surf)
  • Slowking: 4% (surf)
  • Golduck: 1% (surf)

The first guy you see will actually tell you some actual information. The PokeCenter and PokeMart are in one building, and the wares you get in the store will increase depending on how many badges you have. When you enter, a clerk immediately talks to you. You'll immediately pick up Oak's Parcel at the counter. The only thing you can buy is Potions at P300. You can visit Red/Green's house here. Red/Green's PC has an emulator emulating Mother, or as some of us know it as Earthbound ZERO. The Wii has the Homebrew Channel, just some nerdy info. The trainer's school is next door. Here you can find a texter, and a number of things to know if you're not familiar with any of the mechanics. The two kids at the top can be battled.

School Kid Jeff: Igglybuff Lv4, P16 School Kid Paula: Pidgey Lv4 (holds Oran Berry), P16

Yeah these two are named after Earthbound characters. You're not able to go to the north end because of a hung-over old man, and although you can go west for a bit, we still need to deliver a parcel. One thing you can do is head over to the west, then head north and east to get a Silk Scarf. Time to head back home.

Back in Pallet Town, enter the lab and give Oak his parcel. Apparently, these are Lava Cookies, exports from the Hoenn region. Blue comes in, we need to wait for Red/Green. And a cut later, everyone's here. Oak then tells them the goal of the Pokemon League before taking the Pokedexes. You each get a Pokedex, as well as ten Poke Balls. Blue leaves because Daisy is leaving too. Red/Green leaves too. At this point, you're now free to head on down the road, Pewter City is of course the location of our first gym, not Viridian since that's closed, as well as catch Pokemon as you would expect to be doing. Going back to Route 1, Daisy stops you and gives you the following: Town Map, TM27 Return, and Running Shoes. Daisy is of course leaving but will leave it as a surprise for later.

On your return to Viridian, there's some trouble. That helpful dude from earlier is under attack from Rocket grunts, no worries since he is an Ace Trainer though. But he just goes on to call police, and then you're now their target. You show zero interest in joining Team Rocket despite the grunt's offer, and now a battle commences.

Team Rocket Grunt: Rattata Lv4, Rattata Lv4, P800

The grunts run off, um, who's this redhead? He's certainly familiar! He's Kamon, and he actually is the rival character from the G/S/C games (canonically it's Silver, but we'll just use the name given here). Those familiar with him know he's the son of Giovanni, who we may see at some point, perhaps? And he calls the grunts losers and such, knowing that they really only prey on the wrong targets and such. But it doesn't take long for him to decide, since you're one of three possible prodigies from Pallet Town, you are going to be challenged by him now.

PKMN Trainer Kamon: NidoranM Lv6, P216

Well that was something. He vows to destroy Team Rocket. The north side of Viridian City is open, and well there's nothing else but a gym here, one that's temporarily closed due to the middle-aged leader retiring. There'll be a new leader, perhaps?

By the way, you can now buy Poke Balls at the mart. They are P200.

You can detour to Route 22 if you want.

  • Pichu: 5%

If you head NW first, you can find a Repeat Ball.

Bug Catcher Sammy: Kakuna Lv8, Metapod Lv8, P128

Head all the way east, where you will see a guy who ran out of Poke Balls, as well as a handy Antidote. Head up now.

Bug Catcher Rick: Caterpie Lv7, Weedle Lv7, P112 Bug Catcher Doug: Weedle Lv7, Caterpie Lv7, Kakuna Lv7, P112

A Revive is right here.

Bug Catcher Anthony: Caterpie Lv7, Weedle Lv7, Metapod Lv7, P112 Lass Selina: Pidgey Lv7, Hoothoot Lv7, Igglybuff Lv7, P196 Bug Catcher Charlie: Metapod Lv8, Kakuna Lv8, P128 School Kid Darius: Pichu Lv8, Rattata Lv8, P32

Pick up the Miracle Seed and continue south. It's Red/Green!

PKMN Trainer Red/Green: Nidoran (F or M depends on gender) Lv11, (opposing starter) Lv13, P468

Head up to get the ninth and final trainer here.

School Kid Dana: Spearow Lv10, P40

On the other side, you're on Route 2 again. Just head north to Pewter City.

PEWTER CITY [PEWT] - Between Rugged Mountains

Here, well, you probably know what to do at this point. The top mart clerk still sells only Poke Balls and Potions, but the bottom clerk sells more than that:

  • Net Ball: P1000
  • Luxury Ball: P1000
  • X Attack: P500
  • X Special: P350

You'll also hear that Team Rocket is going to attack Pewter Museum. And this seems to be the reason you can't leave to Route 3 right now either. If you talk to a guy north of the officer and say No, you'll be escorted to the museum entrance. I don't see Team Rocket here yet. The woman north of him gives a Quick Claw. Enter the museum, yes you gotta pay P50, and explore, but then again, there's nothing of interest. Kamon is examining a rock but he does nothing if you talk to him, and there's a guy at the east end who mentions colleagues who can revive fossils, which is nice, but not useful at the moment.

Might as well challenge the gym! You know it's going to be Brock, the Rock type specialist, but here once you take a step the gym greeter, who's name is Jim Gai (yes, it's a lame pun), will greet you and give you a Fresh Water. This gym's layout is very much like the Rustboro gym in R/S/E, you can totally skip the trainers by taking the other paths.

Camper Jerry: Geodude Lv13, P260 Hiker Edwin: Geodude Lv12, Geodude Lv12, P480

Gym Leader Brock: Geodude Lv14, Omanyte Lv14, Onix Lv16 (holds Oran Berry), P1600, Boulder Badge, and TM39 Rock Tomb

Note: due to some new moves I was unable to figure out exactly what their complete movesets were in this game. Anyways, it seems only now that Team Rocket has decided to mess around in the Pewter Museum. Their target is the Old Amber. Follow Brock, who leaves to go to the museum. Brock takes on two of four grunts while you take on the other two.

Team Rocket Grunt: Ekans Lv14, P2800 Team Rocket Grunt: Rattata Lv13, Murkrow Lv13, P2600

After the grunts flee, you get some information about the Old Amber, this one was excavated by Brock himself. He can take it back, but he chooses to give it to you instead. Plus he heals your Pokemon in case you forgot to do it earlier. Kamon clearly has overheard the commotion, and explains that the rock he was staring at, which was a purple rock, was once a legendary Pokemon. But he likes to play the tough guy, thinking you're so tough to win against Team Rocket doesn't appeal to him as much.

PKMN Trainer Kamon: Kabuto Lv14, Nidorino Lv16 (holds Oran Berry), P576

Clearly we see what his goal is, to be tougher than the Rocket executives, and also for you to stay out of the way.

Now it's time to go to Route 3, but before you do, make note of the new mart wares since you got your first badge now:

  • Poke Ball: P200
  • Great Ball: P600
  • Potion: P300
  • Super Potion: P700
  • Antidote: P100
  • Parlyz Heal: P200
  • Awakening: P250
  • Burn Heal: P250
  • Ice Heal: P250
  • Escape Rope: P550
  • Repel: P350

The bottom clerk still sells the same stuff as before.

Lass Sally: NidoranF Lv12, Spearow Lv12, Hoothoot Lv12, P336 Bug Catcher James: Caterpie Lv15, P240 Lass Robin: Jigglypuff Lv14, P392

  • Nest Ball: P1000
  • Timer Ball: P1000
  • Guard Spec. P700
  • Dire Hit: P650

Take the next few ladders to the next grunt.

Team Rocket Grunt: Ekans Lv16, Zubat Lv16, P3200

Youngster Josh: Zubat Lv16, Sandshrew Lv16, P256 Hiker Marcos: Geodude Lv15, Geodude Lv15, Machop Lv15, P600

Pick up a Moon Stone and keep going, through a path and then just follow this path to the end.

Team Rocket Grunt: Rattata Lv15, Ekans Lv15, Murkrow Lv15, P3000 Team Rocket Grunt: Ekans Lv17, P3400 Team Rocket Grunt: Zubat Lv17, P3400 Team Rocket Grunt: Murkrow Lv16, Rattata Lv18, P3600

Pick up a Revive and get ready to battle an executive of Team Rocket! She's Ariana from HG/SS and she's talking about how fossils are great and all.

Executive Ariana: Zubat Lv19, Ariana Lv19, Gastly Lv21, P840

Ariana shows some disrespect towards her own boss by saying he gives low-paying jobs to the executives as well. There's a hidden Moon Stone near the area where you battled Ariana, so take it. Talk to the girl to heal, take the TM45 Attract, Dome Fossil, and Helix Fossil. Wow!

Super Nerd Miguel: NidoranM Lv17, Zubat Lv17, P1224

ROUTE 4 [RTE4]

  • Poliwag: 9%
  • Seaking: 5% (surf)

  • Gyarados: 1% (super rod)

Time to battle Blue again. Hope you healed beforehand.

PKMN Trainer Blue: Pidgeotto Lv19, Machop Lv19, (opposing starter) Lv21, P2100

Now for something interesting and not canon-Kanto. Daisy wants everyone to meet at Route 25, north of Cerulean. Sounds cool. Head east and teach Mega Punch and/or Mega Kick if you want, the black belts are there for it, but like other move-tutors, one-time only. SE of them, press A on the lone pink flower to pick up a hidden Luxury Ball. A Rare Candy is on the route, and you can find a hidden Razz Berry in the grass above the ledge leading to the tall grass.

School Kid Crissy: Azurill Lv18, Paras Lv18, P72

Do note that once you go over the ledge, you can't backtrack.

  • Gyarados: 1% (super rod)

Bad news, the gym's closed. Misty's on a date in Saffron and you're told to go to Nugget Bridge to the north. The house next to the PokeCenter has an old man who will trade a Gastly if you have a Murkrow. The wares that the bottom clerk sells are:

  • Luxury Ball: P1000
  • Sea Incense: P9600

At the north end is a house that has a friendship checker AND a groomer, though you have to pay P500 for that last service. You can get an Old Rod from a house to the south. The bike shop will of course sell bikes at a super high price you can't afford, and you can't head south because the police are conducting an investigation to Team Rocket's activities (yes, that one house is still the robbed house). You also can't head east, so you might as well take the Nugget Bridge challenge to the north. There's a hidden Rare Candy in the lower area at the north end, one tile east of a white flower. Try to take the challenge and Red/Green is raring for a battle!

PKMN Trainer Red/Green: Nidorina/Nidorino Lv19, Clefairy Lv19, (opposing starter) Lv21, P756

Yeah, we should go to Bill. Also there's a party at the S.S. Anne to look forward to.

The Rocket grunt gives you a Nugget and wants you to join them. Fat chance.

Team Rocket Grunt: Machop Lv19, Venonat Lv19, Ekans Lv20, P4000

Before we head to Route 25, the grass to the west has a couple more trainers.

Camper Shane: Abra Lv19, Psyduck Lv19, P380 Fisherman Brett: Magikarp Lv19, Magikarp Lv19, P1368

ROUTE 25 [RT25]

Go to the east fence where you see the pond. A set of flowers here has a hidden Soda Pop. Now go to Daisy, Red/Green, and Blue. It's now Daisy's turn to have a battle. What a twist.

PKMN Trainer Daisy: Sandslash Lv25 (holds Oran Berry), P900

It looks like Daisy's here because she's interviewing gym leaders. Sadly, since Misty's away, she's got nothing else to do besides check out the cape. She also talks about the Cerulean Cave. Blue is anxious to know the identity of the legendary Pokemon in it (you probably know what it is, I'm sure). Not much in sources though, so Daisy leaves. Red/Green leaves and Blue talks about Kamon, as well as the purple rock he was looking at and the possible connection. Enter the Sea Cottage and help Bill out with his weird issue. He'll give you an S.S. Ticket. That's almost everything here. You can look at Eeveelutions on his laptop, which will be registered as seen in your Pokedex as a bonus. Also head south from the pool, down the steps, and all the way west to the corner. You can pick up a hidden Revival Herb there. Time to head back to the city.

And with that in mind, police are still investigating stuff that's been happening, but the gym's open! Jim Gai will immediately give you another Fresh Water. You can choose to go three paths, but there are trainers on each path. From left to right.

Sailor Parker: Psyduck Lv23, Poliwag Lv23, P736 Swimmer Diana: Marill Lv23, Slowpoke Lv23, P92 Swimmer Briana: Psyduck Lv23, Staryu Lv23, P92 Swimmer Joy: Staryu Lv23, Poliwag Lv23, P92 Sailor Eddie: Marill Lv24, P768

Gym Leader Misty: Poliwhirl Lv25, Marill Lv25, Starmie Lv27 (holds Oran Berry), P2700, Cascade Badge, and TM03 Water Pulse

Getting our second badge is just the time passer needed to have the police finish their little investigation, so that means we can head south and east out of the city now. Or actually just south, because there was a landslide on Route 9 to prevent any exploration to the east. Excuses. Head south then. Oh by the way, the mart does not have any new wares even though you got a new badge. We'll have to wait until the third badge in that case.

ROUTE 5 [RTE5]

Mons found:

  • Pidgeotto: 30%
  • Meowth: 30%
  • Drowzee: 15%
  • Mime Jr. 15%
  • Ponyta: 10%

The Day Care is here, and you can raise two Pokemon for breeding. Keep it known for later. The gatehouse to Saffron is closed, so you might as well accost the Rocket grunt blocking the Underground Path.

Team Rocket Grunt: Machop Lv23, Drowzee Lv23, P4600 and TM28 Dig

The Underground Path is slightly different. The old lady you see here will give you an Egg. This egg hatches into an Eevee. When you head south, guess what, you're in the Underground Market! Sadly the west and east terminals are closed due to some dumb vandals.

The Good Rod can be received just west of the PokeCenter. The bottom clerk in the mart sells these:

  • Nest Ball: P1000
  • Timer Ball: P1000
  • Heart Scale: P9500

A woman south of the PokeCenter will want to trade a Scyther for her Porygon. If you're interested in a gym challenge, it's going to have to wait due to Lt. Surge visiting family in the United Regions of America. Apparently it's also known as the Unova region, which is strange. Enter the Pokemon Fan Club, listen to the chairman's story, and voila, you have a Bike Voucher. Return to the Bike Shop in Cerulean and you get your Bicycle. Route 11 is to the east, but there's a Snorlax in the way, so the only option for you now is to visit the S.S. Anne. You should have the ticket from Bill, so all aboard! It's the 78th annual Vermillion party too!

S.S. ANNE [ANNE]

You can leave at any time if you need to heal or something, plus the other sailor gives you a rundown of stuff. On this floor, we'll check out some cabins. From left to right at the top, first cabin has nothing of note. Second has a trainer.

Gentleman Arthur: Swablu Lv25, Growlithe Lv25, P1200

Third cabin has a girl who's a healer. Next one on over.

Gentleman Thomas: Growlithe Lv25, Ponyta Lv25, P1200

Fifth cabin references a Miley Cyrus video. Last on this side has two trainers.

Fisherman Dale: Tentacool Lv25, Magikarp Lv25, P1800 Gentleman Brooks: Eevee Lv26, P1248

The item here is a Macho Brace. Let's see the other cabins on the south side, from left to right. Looker from Platinum is in the first cabin. Next has some trainers.

Lass Ann: Hoppip Lv24, Mime Jr. Lv24, Magby Lv24, P672 Youngster Tyler: Abra Lv24, Bellsprout Lv24, Poliwag Lv24, P384

TM31 Brick Break is here. The other two cabins don't have much of note. Let's head west for now to the front of the ship, a few sailors want to battle though.

Sailor Trevor: Tentacool Lv25, Goldeen Lv25, P800 Sailor Edmond: Shellder Lv24, Tentacool Lv24, Goldeen Lv24, P768

Might want to heal before you head to the steps, cause Blue will get to you as you start to climb them.

PKMN Trainer Blue: Pidgeotto Lv26, Machoke Lv26, (opposing starter) Lv28, P2800

He then mentions a dance is occurring on the next floor and that Red/Green may need a dance partner.

On the left side of the second floor is the dining hall, and on the right is the ballroom. A Brightpowder is in the dining hall. The ballroom has couples but nothing important. Head west from the dining hall to find Red/Green.

PKMN Trainer Red/Green: Nidorino/Nidorina Lv26, Clefairy Lv26, (opposing starter) Lv28, P1008

You actually can't say no to a dance with Red/Green, even if you try. Follow Red/Green to the ballroom for what is supposed to be a cute dance, that is until somebody interrupts over the speaker, that is the captain with an announcement. You are selected as a random prize winner! Along with Blue and Red/Green. How coincidental. Red/Green goes to get the prize, and it's time to visit the third floor. There's more cabins to explore here too. From left to right, north side:

Gentleman Lamar: Ponyta Lv24, Swablu Lv24, Magby Lv24, P1152 Lass Dawn: Staryu Lv25, Mime Jr. Lv25, P700

They have an X Attack in their cabin. Third cabin now.

Sailor Huey: Psyduck Lv25, Tentacool Lv25, P800

His cabin has TM44 Rest. Next one.

Sailor Dylan: Marill Lv24, Psyduck Lv24, Goldeen Lv24, P768

The item here is an Ether. The storage room is off-limits, so let's check the south set of cabins from left to right. First has nothing to note.

Sailor Phillip: Shellder Lv24, Machop Lv24, Marill Lv24, P768 Fisherman Barny: Magikarp Lv25, Goldeen Lv25, P1800 Sailor Duncan: Goldeen Lv24, Slowpoke Lv24, Shellder Lv24, P768 Sailor Leonard: Psyduck Lv25, Machop Lv25, P800

Last cabin has a Moomoo Milk. Time to talk to Blue and Red/Green. If you speak to Blue, he's a little suspicious about all this. And yes, it's a trap, as the other HG/SS Rocket executive, Archer, is here, along with Ariana and the captain. They also have bombs in the storage room, which also explains who stole the key to that room. And Ariana is next to battle you.

Executive Ariana: Golbat Lv27, Nidorina Lv27, Haunter Lv29 (holds Sitrus Berry), P1160

Now it's time to battle Archer. Red/Green will heal you quickly before you battle him.

Executive Archer: Golbat Lv28, Nidorino Lv28, Kadabra Lv30 (holds Sitrus Berry), P1200

Well, we all know the boss is Giovanni. Archer explains there's no use and that the bombs will blow but also that Giovanni is trying to prevent a catastrophe from occurring that would have happened thirteen years ago. And the captain was injected with a sleeping drug. Archer and Ariana quickly leave, and it looks like the ship will blow. But someone has to save the day, and it's Kamon, who stole the key to the storage room. Everyone goes there, and there are four bombs. All of your friends switch one off, and you should go to the last one and switch it off. You then meet with Kamon, who explains about what happened on Nugget Bridge, and how Team Rocket planned this all along, how the three of you were to get tickets to the S.S. Anne which would be planned to be destroyed. Blue gets into a word fight with Kamon over this. Afterwards Red/Green and Blue leave. Kamon wants to prepare you for another battle, but gives you time to get ready. Talk to him to do it.

PKMN Trainer Kamon: Kabuto Lv27, Porygon Lv27, Nidorino Lv29 (holds Sitrus Berry), P1044

As he says, stay out of his way, although you can't really predict when that will happen next time. Now at this point the captain has awakened. Pay him a visit and you now get HM01 Cut! But also HM06 Rock Smash! If you've done all you can, go ahead and leave now. The ship sets sail. At this point, the gym is now open, but we'll do a little Cut backtracking first, since you can teach it (but we're not going to bother with Rock Smash for now).

The only thing to backtrack and get is TM11 Sunny Day on Route 25. That's it. So let's go battle Lt. Surge and the Electric gym. This time Jim Gai gives you a Soda Pop.

Sailor Dwayne: Pikachu Lv28, Pikachu Lv28, P896 Engineer Baily: Voltorb Lv28, Magnemite Lv28, P1344 Gentleman Tucker: Elekid Lv29, P1392

Trash can puzzle is the same as the original game if you must know.

Gym Leader Lt. Surge: Electabuzz Lv30, Magneton Lv30, Raichu Lv32 (holds Sitrus Berry), P3200, Thunder Badge, and TM24 Thunderbolt

Leave and Red/Green will talk about a concern, how the Celadon City is where the next gym is, but the route is blocked off. The only real option is to take a long detour east of Cerulean, since our other options are blocked by police or a Snorlax. Red/Green gives you HM05 Flash. It should come in handy for Rock Tunnel when we go there. Here are the top clerk mart wares from now on by the way.

When you exit, a Cubone runs to you and then away, being chased by Rocket grunts. A Marowak shows up and Bonemerangs the grunts. For payback, they actually dispatch the Marowak with deadly force, causing the Cubone to run. Kamon is here after the second grunt leaves, goes up to the remaining grunt, and he mentions the Devil's Prism. Kamon then mentions Giovanni's long lost wife from thirteen years ago. This poor grunt just wants his paycheck and runs off, and Kamon erroneously thinks you're chasing Team Rocket again. Then he goes further and blames you for what just happened. And then you have control. Immediately you'll see an item but can't get it because you don't have Strength yet.

  • X Speed: P350

You'll find the baby Cubone in one of the south houses, and the Name Rater is in the other. The house north of them is Mr. Fuji's but he's not home. There's really not much to do here. Route 8 is open, but Route 12 isn't due to some rampaging Gyarados. Excuses. Check out the Pokemon Tower, and nothing is on the first floor, but you cannot go past the channeler on the next floor due to the others being possessed by ghosts. More excuses. You can pick up a brand new evolutionary stone called a Royal Stone though. If you must know, this can evolve Slowpoke, Poliwhirl, Feebas, Seadra, and Kadabra in this hack. Let's head to Route 8 now.

There's two hidden items in the grass. One's a Rare Candy and the other's a Heart Scale. Use your new Itemfinder to help. The other item here is a PP Up. Take the Underground Path as you know, since Saffron is still closed. Now you can head through the west/east hall.

The Stone Merchant in the Underground Market now sells a lot more! The Fire Stone, Thunderstone, Water Stone, Leaf Stone, Sun Dust, Moon Dust, Moss Dust, and Ice Dust are now available, all at P2100. The Dusts are for evolving Eevee only. On the way out at the west side, talk to the big guy to learn about the Omega Stone. Keep him in mind for later, perhaps? If you take the back door and go all the way to the top, you can find a Lucky Egg on a table. You can visit Chaos Rush Headquarters next door and talk to some people too. Chaos Rush himself is at the top, and again, wait until you are champion to do anything important regarding the guy. Team Rocket Grunt: Raticate Lv33, Venomoth Lv33, Arbok Lv33, P6600

ROCKET HIDEOUT [ROCH]

Head straight south and go to the SE tree. Inspect it to find a PP Max. Now to the right.

Team Rocket Grunt: Grimer Lv33, Koffing Lv33, Murkrow Lv33, P6600

That's it here, because there's a gate. West this time.

Team Rocket Grunt: Zubat Lv33, Grimer Lv33, Raticate Lv33, P6600

Here we have an Escape Rope. Nothing to do but go to the next floor, and yeah, you could immediately have entered it.

Team Rocket Grunt: Sandslash Lv34, Venomoth Lv34, P6800

Yeah, you can head to the next floor, or have fun with the arrow tiles! First item you can pick up is a Metal Stone. This can evolve Onix, Magneton, and Scyther. Head around to get a Rare Candy that you passed up. Then you can also get TM36 Sludge Bomb. The item at the west end of the room is a Hyper Potion. Head to the SE.

Team Rocket Grunt: Drowzee Lv34, Hypno Lv34, P6800

The elevator needs a key, but you can head up to B1F. That hiker there is a grunt who forgot his uniform.

Team Rocket Grunt: Houndour Lv34, Zubat Lv34, P6800 Team Rocket Grunt: Venomoth Lv34, Grimer Lv34, P6800

There's a Hyper Potion here. No key for the elevator, so head back a floor and check the other steps here to head to B3F.

At B3F, head all the way to the west and inspect the corner for a hidden Nugget. On the east side now.

Team Rocket Grunt: Machop Lv32, Zubat Lv32, Machoke Lv32, Golbat Lv32, P6400

TM21 Frustration is to the south of this grunt. Next up, more arrow tiles! A Scope Lens can be nabbed here. Then you can get the Blackglasses a bit further on.

Team Rocket Grunt: Houndour Lv34, Raticate Lv34, P6800

Next floor, head south first and all the way west to a Max Ether. Go back and sorry, you cannot enter the next area due to an extremely nasty smell.

Team Rocket Grunt: Machoke Lv34, Raticate Lv34, P6800

Pick up yet another Hyper Potion and take the last set of steps. Flip the switch to free the Pokemon and get the Lift Key next! You should go back to B2F and enter the elevator to use it. For completion purposes, go to B1F to battle this grunt.

Team Rocket Grunt: Drowzee Lv33, Koffing Lv33, Machoke Lv33, P6600

Beating this grunt will unlock the door from before. Head to B4F now. Head north to see a map of the S.S. Anne, which was what Team Rocket must've used to try and assassinate your group. Not to mention all the bombs there for storage. There's a Calcium. Head to the two grunts to battle them.

Team Rocket Grunt: Murkrow Lv34, Grimer Lv34, Sandslash Lv34, P6800 Team Rocket Grunt: Murkrow Lv34, Koffing Lv34, Arbok Lv34, P6800

Time to battle Archer again. So yeah, you've survived, now Giovanni thinks it's best if we are alive after all.

Executive Archer: Golbat Lv37, Nidorino Lv37, Umbreon Lv37, Kadabra Lv39 (holds Sitrus Berry), P1560

Time to meet the boss, Giovanni. He then takes you up to a board of scientists, with Ariana there too. He then talks about the legendary Pokemon you're probably making guesses about, the same one who caused destruction that killed Giovanni's wife. He then has a vendetta against legendary Pokemon, and also for everyone else to experience the pain he has. The machine that Ariana and the scientists are around is called the Devil's Prism. Afterwards, you're instructed to get away from the machine, and then you and Giovanni battle.

Rocket Boss Giovanni: Murkrow Lv39, Nidorina Lv39, Rhyhorn Lv39, Kangaskhan Lv41 (holds Sitrus Berry), P3280

Well, he's still sticking to his plan, but he does apologize for attempting to get rid of you on the S.S. Anne. Because he'd rather have you all live to see him succeed in his vengeance plan. Ariana is told to escort you out.

Well, that's something. Time to head to the gym now, because this side trip was enough so that we can check it out without someone blocking the way. Jim Gai's busy at the Game Corner but he left a Soda Pop around. The interior of this gym is based on the HG/SS version.

When you leave, Daisy is here, along with Blue and Red/Green. We've got some possible info that can help with dealing with Team Rocket. Daisy then drops the name of the Pokemon Deoxys. And also it may be connected to the purple crystal we know about. The history of Deoxys is stated, and we hear about how it was more or less destroyed. The purple crystal we saw is Deoxys' brain! And a laser beam can be shot at the brain to recover the whole body. Blue figures things out and how the rock in Pewter City is the same thing. He also thinks Kamon was guarding the rock from Team Rocket at the time. Daisy then thinks that Kamon may actually be a spy for the organization. Would make sense, since those who know him know he's Giovanni's son, even Red/Green thinks he could be in league with Team Rocket. Daisy thinks that Team Rocket really is after Deoxys, but Blue is thinking that Kamon may be trying to be one step ahead of Team Rocket, and that Kamon saved the group back on the boat. Daisy then tells you that someone has been taken hostage at Pokemon Tower, a place we couldn't go through last time we were there. After Daisy and Blue leave, Red/Green talks to you about Route 10's incident and gives you the Silph Scope. Oh yeah, Marowak's ghost is there now, probably should mention. We've got nowhere else to go, west is still blocked, as is Saffron, so back to Lavender it is and the Pokemon Tower is our destination.

The stone merchant in the Underground Market now sells the Royal Stone, Dusk Stone, and Metal Stone. Yippee! The regular mart wares from the top clerks in PokeCenters haven't changed yet though.

Mr. Fuji, the man who's being interrogated now, has info on legendaries. Daisy storms in and wants to put an end to the crimes, but in even more shocking news, reveals that she's the new gym leader of Viridian City! Giovanni, who's also with Kamon, overhears this too. He says that he's resigned that position to focus on his plans, and then speaks to you. He seems to have already received his information. Team Rocket leaves, leaving you with Daisy and Kamon. Daisy talks first and wonders if she'll be your fifth gym leader to battle, an interesting twist instead of having to go to Fuchsia or Saffron first. You'll also have your Pokemon healed before she leaves and you go up to Kamon and Mr. Fuji, where the former asks about Deoxys. Mr. Fuji gives the info dump but is worried about Kamon doing all this alone. It's even more interesting that Giovanni took the typical Pokemon Trainer path and battled Mr. Fuji who once was champion at the time. Mr. Fuji ended up lending Giovanni the Viridian gym leader position too. Fuji, the resigned Kanto champion, then talks to you, saying he was never taken hostage, but rather to calm the spirit of the departed Marowak from earlier, though that's when Team Rocket came. He gives you the Poke Flute. Kamon, seething with selfishness, doesn't believe he should treat his team better. And you battle him once again.

PKMN Trainer Kamon: Kabutops Lv40, Altaria Lv40, Nidorino Lv40, Porygon2 Lv42 (holds Sitrus Berry), P1512

What now? We want to head to Viridian, but Route 12 is also open. I think we can detour for a bit, and besides, we're not really detouring anyways since there's a Snorlax on the way too.

You'll obviously need to find the Gold Teeth to get the Safari Zone Warden to properly speak. The berry tree has Persim Berries. The place of course has a zoo where there seems to be a separated couple. Janine, Koga's daughter, is also here, but she doesn't do anything important. The kid in front of the Kangaskhan pen can teach Substitute.

The bottom mart clerk can sell Full Incenses, Luck Incenses, and Odd Incenses, all at P9600.

The gym is open, but I'm sure you want to go safari hunting, so let's head there first. Besides, there are some important items there.

Not much choice when getting items at the moment. Head east to Area 1 and on the big rock, you can find a Poison Barb. Also in the same area is TM22 Solarbeam, west of the pond, and a Max Potion is also in the area. Cross to the east to get a Full Restore. At the north area, pick up a Focus Band in the central region. In the sandy area of Area 3, you can get a Max Revive. Cross over for another Max Potion. In Area 2, if you head north of the pond, you can find TM48 U-Turn. A Protein is to the north. Follow the path past the Protein and you'll eventually find Safari Zone Warden Baoba's Gold Teeth! In the sand in front of the Secret House, there's a hidden Revive. Enter the house and get the much-coveted HM03 Surf. Aside from catching, that does it here! Now let's check out Fuchsia's gym. Jim Gai will give you Lemonade, and yes, we've got those invisible walls to deal with and Poison types.

Apparently this is supposed to be the Marsh Badge, as it is named after the marshes in the nearby Safari Zone. Which, well, I didn't really see that much in marshes back there. But whatever, it's our sixth badge. And with that in mind, when you leave, Prof. Oak is here. He's got bad news, in that Silph Co. in Saffron has been infiltrated by Team Rocket. It's possible that the researchers at that building know how to restore Deoxys, which is why they're there. Oak gives you Tea, which finally allows you to enter the city. But hey, we should be able to use a new HM, so time for backtracking.

SURF BACKTRACKING [SURF]

The first stop is right at the Safari Zone. In the Center Area, surf to the island. There's a Nugget here, as well as a hidden Leaf Stone. Head to Area 3 and surf behind the rest house to get TM32 Double Team. That's all the items in the Safari Zone.

Since you got the Gold Teeth earlier in the Safari Zone, return to the warden's house and give Baoba his teeth. As a result, he'll give you HM04 Strength.

At Vermillion City, you can surf south of the city, west of the bridge, to find TM23 Explosion. If you head east of the city, then take the south path, you'll find a different part of Vermillion City, where you can surf to a guy who can teach Swords Dance.

In Celadon City, you can get TM01 Focus Blast from the south pool. The guy at the other end of the north pool can teach Softboiled.

Go under Nugget Bridge on Route 24 to the east side to get TM12 Dragon Pulse. No, you can't enter Cerulean Cave yet, a guy there won't let you in. Also, you can't head south of Fuchsia City, due to the excuse of "too much debris". You can't go on Route 21 south of Pallet Town either because the trainers are too strong. There is one place you can go, and that's the Power Plant at Route 10. Surf the long way to get there.

Pokemaniac Mark: Marowak Lv46, Bronzong Lv46, Lickitung Lv46, P2208

POWER PLANT [POWE]

Mons found:

  • Magneton: 40%
  • Electrode: 30%
  • Pikachu: 20%
  • Electabuzz: 8%
  • Raichu: 1%
  • Magnezone: 1%

Up first to get a Max Potion. Follow the path until you can head east. Do so and the first thing you see is TM09 Volt Switch. The other item is an Elixir. Return on the path and on the next floor, go east (the dead end to the south has an Electrode). At the next fork, head SE to get TM41 Drain Punch. Head back, to the east side, and all the way up, then into the NE room. A Thunderstone is at the NE end, and the other item here is just an Electrode. Back on the path, head south at the fork to a dead end. Check the second barrel for a Max Elixir. Continue along the path to get to Zapdos Lv57. There's another Thunderstone hidden near the right generator too. Take the arrow tiles to leave the power plant.

That basically does it for backtracking. Let's head to Saffron now. Enter from any gate and give the guard the Tea.

SAFFRON CITY [SAFF] - Shining Big City

Bottom mart clerk wares:

  • Luxury Ball: P1000
  • Nest Ball: P1000
  • Dive Ball: P1000 (I wonder if this is modified to be better for simple water encounters btw, since there's no place to dive underwater in FR/LG)
  • Repeat Ball: P1000
  • X Attack: P500
  • X Defend: P550
  • X Speed: P350
  • X Special: P350

Side note: All of the bottom mart clerk wares in future towns and cities you enter will have the same wares as above from now on. Head to Mr. Psychic's home to get TM29 Psychic. Most other buildings are closed, except for two, the fighting dojo and the Pokemon Trainer Fan Club. Before we head to Silph Co., let's see the dojo.

Black Belt Hideki: Machop Lv51, Mankey Lv51, Primeape Lv51, P1224 Black Belt Hitoshi: Machop Lv51, Machoke Lv53, P1272 Black Belt Mike: Primeape Lv53, P1272 Black Belt Aaron: Mankey Lv52, Machoke Lv52, Primeape Lv52, P1248 Karate King Kiyo: Hitmonlee Lv55, Hitmontop Lv55, Hitmonchan Lv55 (all mons hold a Black Belt), P1760

Make room in your party so you can receive the Pokemon. In this case it's a Tyrogue. It's already holding a Black Belt. Time for Silph Co.! Oh wait, obligatory rival battle with Red/Green.

PKMN Trainer Red/Green: Nidorino/Nidorina Lv49, Clefairy Lv49, Scyther Lv49, Vaporeon/Leafeon/Flareon Lv49 (this will be the Eeveelution strong against your starter), (opposing starter) Lv51 (holds Sitrus Berry), P1836

Red/Green isn't going to join us, because (s)he's been tasked with keeping an eye on the purple rock in the Pewter museum.

SILPH CO [SILP]

Time to save this place. You can totally just take the elevator to any floor, but we'll check out each floor individually. Let's go to 2F. Here, you can immediately take the steps, take the elevator, or the teleporter to 8F, but we'll be exploring these floors as much as we can.

Team Rocket Grunt: Houndour Lv45, Arbok Lv45, Machoke Lv45, Hypno Lv45, Golbat Lv45, P9000 Team Rocket Scientist: Magneton Lv47, Hypno Lv47, Electrode Lv47, P9400 Team Rocket Grunt: Marowak Lv48, Golbat Lv48, P9600

The other teleporter here also leads to 8F. We also need a Card Key for the doors at the west side. To 3F. Take the nearby teleporter to be behind a Card Key door. The woman here can teach Thunder Wave. The other teleporter at the NW end takes you to 5F.

Team Rocket Grunt: Venomoth Lv47, Murkrow Lv47, Hypno Lv47, P9400

The teleporter in the area with beds takes you to another one to the SE, so it's useless. The other teleporter at the SW end takes you to an enclosed room behind a Card Key door where you can get TM05 Energy Ball. To 4F!

Team Rocket Grunt: Gloom Lv47, Muk Lv47, Golbat Lv47, P9400

Inspect the last plant at the SE end to get an Iron. And pick up TM40 Aerial Ace while you're at it. Leave and keep going.

Team Rocket Grunt: Arbok Lv46, Houndoom Lv46, Weezing Lv46, Marowak Lv46, P9200

Both of the nearby teleporters lead to 10F. We're ignoring them for now and heading to 5F by the steps. The teleporter to the east will simply take you to 7F. We're ignoring it too.

Team Rocket Grunt: Weezing Lv49, P9800

GLITCH: In the reports room, you can go through the trees in the NE corner. Inspecting the right tree there reveals "0 PP Up(s)" which doesn't give you anything.

Team Rocket Grunt: Houndoom Lv48, Golbat Lv48, P9600

The teleporter to the west leads back to 5F. Inspect a tree SE of it to get a Max Elixir.

Team Rocket Scientist: Weezing Lv48, Magnezone Lv48, P9600 Team Rocket Grunt: Houndour Lv46, Koffing Lv46, Houndoom Lv46, Weezing Lv46, P9200

Take the teleporter to 9F, but re-enter it and head east. You'll get the Card Key! Let's do some backtracking. The door to the left of the last grunt led back to the TM05 room. A Protein is in the room with the walking scientist (who's not a trainer).

On 2F, the upper card key door leads to the woman who teaches Thunder Wave. A scientist is behind the south one.

Team Rocket Scientist: Grimer Lv46, Bronzor Lv46, Slugma Lv46, Muk Lv46, P9200

The teleporter here goes to 6F, but we'll be going there shortly. To 3F. The middle room has a necessary teleporter to 7F, but we're not going there yet. The next room over has a Hyper Potion.

Team Rocket Scientist: Bronzong Lv48, Electrode Lv48, P9600

The teleporter here takes you to 9F. Let's go to 4F now. First door.

Team Rocket Scientist: Electrode Lv48, Magcargo Lv48, P9600

The NE teleporter takes you to 6F, again we're going there soon. The SW teleporter takes you to 10F, which is the same place that has the scared girl from the other 4F teleporter. Open the door north of that teleporter. Here you can get a Full Heal, a Max Revive, and an Up-Grade! All the backtracking is done, let's keep going up the floors, starting with 6F. The first teleporter leads back to the scientist at the SW room of 2F.

Team Rocket Grunt: Gloom Lv48, Machoke Lv48, P9600

In the meeting room, inspect a tree at the west end for a Carbos.

Team Rocket Grunt: Zubat Lv46, Venonat Lv46, Golbat Lv46, Venomoth Lv46, P9200 Team Rocket Grunt: Electrode Lv46, Bronzong Lv46, Kadabra Lv46, Magneton Lv46, P9200

Open the door here for an HP Up and an X Special. The teleporter here goes back to 4F. To 7F we go!

Team Rocket Grunt: Raticate Lv46, Murkrow Lv46, Gloom Lv46, Weezing Lv46, P9200

Open the door near the stairs to pick up TM02 Dragon Claw, plus a Zinc if you check the SW tree here.

Team Rocket Grunt: Murkrow Lv47, Muk Lv47, Golbat Lv47, P9400

The teleporter here leads to 5F. Let's head up and around.

Team Rocket Grunt: Houndour Lv47, Cubone Lv47, Marowak Lv47, P9400 Team Rocket Grunt: Magcargo Lv48, Kadabra Lv48, P9600

At the SW end is a Calcium. Let's go to 8F.

Team Rocket Grunt: Marowak Lv46, Arbok Lv46, Weezing Lv46, Raticate Lv46, P9200 Team Rocket Grunt: Muk Lv47, Machoke Lv47, Hypno Lv47, P9400

In the east room is an Iron, as well as a Nugget if you check the NE tree. The teleporter at the SW end goes back to 2F. The teleporter NE of that one just leads to the enclosed room to the west.

Team Rocket Scientist: Magcargo Lv47, Grimer Lv47, Electrode Lv47, P9400

Another teleporter here goes back to 2F. We're going to 9F now. The teleporter in the SE room goes back to 5F.

Team Rocket Scientist: Electrode Lv47, Bronzong Lv47, Magneton Lv47, P9400 Team Rocket Grunt: Machoke Lv47, Muk Lv47, Weezing Lv47, P9400

Open the nearby door and inspect the NE plant for a Max Potion. This is also the much-needed healing zone. There's a Calcium in one of the plants to the north.

Team Rocket Grunt: Houndoom Lv47, Hypno Lv47, Marowak Lv47, P9400

The teleporter at the end here leads to 3F. Handy, but we got 10F to go to now. The nearest teleporter goes to 4F, and the door hear leads to the scared girl and two more teleporters to 4F.

Team Rocket Scientist: Magnemite Lv47, Slugma Lv47, Magcargo Lv47, P9400 Team Rocket Grunt: Vileplume Lv49, P9800

This storage area has a Rare Candy, an Ultra Ball, and a Carbos. To 11F!

Team Rocket Grunt: Raticate Lv45, Houndoom Lv45, Golbat Lv45, Marowak Lv45, Arbok Lv45, P9000 Team Rocket Grunt: Arbok Lv47, Machoke Lv47, Marowak Lv47, P9400

Now get the Zinc. We have to go to the teleporter at 3F in the middle room now. Fun fact, that was a total of 30 trainers we battled inside, and the total money from all battles is a whopping P282000. Blue is on the other side of the teleporter, and he'll go with you to eavesdrop between Kamon and Giovanni. Seems like an unfriendly conversation, but hey, looks like we now know that Kamon is Giovanni's son. And you get the obligatory battle.

PKMN Trainer Blue: Pidgeot Lv51, Machoke Lv51, Rhyhorn Lv51, Growlithe/Gyarados/Exeggcute Lv51, Growlithe/Gyarados/Exeggcute Lv51, (opposing starter) Lv53 (holds Sitrus Berry), P5300

Blue's goal is to get to the championship in the Pokemon League, and Team Rocket has been slowing him down. He'll then be looking for Kamon. Talk to the guy here to receive a Lapras, then get yourself ready.

You'll see Kamon and Blue once you take the teleporter. Another argument, and Blue is hitting Kamon back, even saying that Giovanni is after the Master Ball and that Kamon would steal it for him. Yes, he admits to being Giovanni's son, but is forced to help Team Rocket because Giovanni's the only family he has left. Kamon even says he'll capture Deoxys so that Giovanni won't get his hands on it. He'd rather do it, because if it was up to our group, Giovanni's anger will only intensify. None of this matters to Blue, who now treats him as a Team Rocket member. Afterwards, Kamon runs and Blue talks to you as he goes and gets his sister. Head south. It looks like it's time to battle the executives once again.

Executive Ariana: Golbat Lv52, Nidorina Lv52, Espeon Lv52, Milotic Lv52, Haunter Lv54 (holds Sitrus Berry), P2160 Executive Archer: Golbat Lv53, Nidorino Lv53, Umbreon Lv53, Gyarados Lv53, Kadabra Lv55 (holds Sitrus Berry), P2200

Time to confront Giovanni, who despite being in the middle of things has the time to talk to you about recent events. Kamon is called to dispose of you, and he's somewhat embarrassed of saying pro-Team Rocket stuff.

Team Rocket Kamon: Kabutops Lv51, Altaria Lv51, Houndoom Lv51, Porygon2 Lv51, Nidoking Lv53 (holds Sitrus Berry), P10600

You'll then immediately battle Giovanni but will also surprisingly be healed too.

Rocket Boss Giovanni: Honchkrow Lv55, Omastar Lv55, Rhydon Lv55, Kangaskhan Lv55, Nidoqueen Lv57 (holds Sitrus Berry), P4560

But it's too late, Giovanni already has the Master Ball and his new world order plans are in place. You're then taken along with Kamon to the president until Blue interrupts. Giovanni admits to the S.S. Anne bomb threat (though calling it a threat at this point is incorrect, it was actually a trap and the threat is already far past this point by now). Daisy comes in too, ready for an arrest. Giovanni remains to gloat about how you still can't stop Team Rocket from using the Devil's Prism. And he's also prepared for everything. Ariana and Archer are then told to "execute emergency order 66, variation four". You'll then see them at the other end of the table, along with the president, who Giovanni had clearly lied to. Archer and Ariana immediately plant bombs which will go off, nothing to stop this, blowing a hole clear on the other side of the Silph Co. building. Giovanni then calls HQ to bring his ride to the top floor. Yep, it looks like he's getting away with nothing that can be done. You along with Blue and Daisy speak to the president. Daisy figures that the company right now is currently safe as Team Rocket has left. The president then thanks you and gives you an Amulet Coin. Shame that the Master Ball which you'd normally obtain has been stolen. Daisy then tells Blue they should go to Pallet Town to see Oak, and they leave, but not before you get a compliment from Blue and are told about the Saffron Gym.

Time to leave, but on the very first floor of Silph Co., there's a new guy. He talks about the work on Porygon, as well as developing Porygon-Z. Seems interesting, because he also gives you the Dubious Disc for it! The Up-Grade we got earlier and the Dubious Disc function as evolutionary stones for the Porygon line, not trade items.

There's a few places to explore in Saffron now. The NW area has the train station construction, something that would be done by the Johto games. The other house is Copycat's house, where Ron Burgundy is attempting to hug a Sharpedo for some reason, according to the TV. If you have a Poke Doll (from Celadon's Dept. Store), give Copycat it so you can learn the move Mimic. Anyways, we got a gym to deal with, Saffron's Psychic gym. Still the teleporter gym, and Jim Gai will give you Moomoo Milk. Follow these directions to get every trainer in one go. First teleporter, you'll be in the SE room.

Psychic Cameron: Slowking Lv54, Slowbro Lv54, P1080

NE teleporter goes to east room.

Psychic Tyron: Kadabra Lv53, Mime Jr. Lv53, Mr. Mime Lv53, P1060

NW teleporter leads to the NE room.

Psychic Preston: Exeggcute Lv52, Kadabra Lv52, Starmie Lv52, Exeggutor Lv52, P1040

SE teleporter leads to SW room.

Channeler Tasha: Drowzee Lv53, Bronzong Lv53, Hypno Lv53, P10600

Take the SE teleporter to be in the west room.

Channeler Amanda: Hypno Lv54, Bronzong Lv54, P10800

Take the NE teleporter to be in the north room.

Channeler Stacy: Bronzong Lv55, P11000

Take the NE teleporter to be in the NW room.

Psychic Johan: Kadabra Lv52, Mr. Mime Lv52, Slowking Lv52, Exeggutor Lv52, P1040

And take the SW teleporter to get to Sabrina.

Gym Leader Sabrina: Mr. Mime Lv57, Espeon Lv57, Slowbro Lv57, Alakazam Lv59 (holds Sitrus Berry), P5900, Soul Badge, and TM04 Calm Mind

Red/Green is waiting at the entrance, saying that the purple rock at Pewter Museum has been stolen. Daisy plans for everyone to reach Cinnabar Island, however, so I guess that's where we'll be heading.

Now that you have seven badges, the new top mart clerk wares include:

  • Max Potion: P2500
  • Elixir: P3000

There's two ways to Cinnabar. We'll start by going south of Pallet Town, but will stop short of Cinnabar just to cover the other path south of Fuchsia.

Enter the first area and start solving boulder puzzles. After the first boulder, there's two ladders immediately available, one to the south and another further east. They both lead to the same area which isn't useful. You can't access the SW ladder either. There's another boulder puzzle here, where the NE path leads nowhere (aren't there supposed to be items here?) and the SE path leads to the other exit of Seafoam Islands. Go on the higher ground and get to the ladder there. You have some ice sliding to do here, and on the right side, get to the rock and head east. Taking this ladder, if you head NW you can take another ladder to an Ultra Ball and much of the water. Head back a floor and head south to another ladder. Take it and head north to get TM13 Ice Beam. When you go back, you can head west through another ice sliding puzzle to another ladder leading to the water area. Here, go ahead and surf to the next island, then the next one. Take all the ladders on the way and you'll be back on the last floor where you can surf to get Articuno Lv57. Take the rest of the path to wind up at the SW ladder in the first area, then leave after you've finished what you needed here.

The bottom mart clerk wares are the same as the ones in Saffron City. Also you'll hear that the Cinnabar gym's door is locked, and the key may be in the mansion. Head up the steps to meet up with Daisy. The purple rock of course has been stolen and Kamon is believed to be the thief. Red/Green and Blue arrive soon (there's only one way to Cinnabar via the SW shore, where did they come from?). Kamon is believed to have taken the purple rock to Birth Island. At that point, a boat arrives. Our Cinnabar Island exploring moments will have to wait, as we're immediately going to set sail.

Leave the harbor and head up to see Kamon and your group. He's here to bring Deoxys back to life himself, and is doing it for a better good instead of leaving it to the hands of his father. The puzzle that some of you all are familiar with is happening automatically. Deoxys soon appears and Kamon uses the Master Ball; he must've taken it from Giovanni at some point. He even says he took two Master Balls in actuality. This was just one of them, and the other one has no use for him. In other words, yes, you get the other Master Ball. Seems our group has failed, and we go back to Cinnabar Island.

Now that we're back here, there's four main buildings besides the PokeCenter. The mansion, gym, and lab are all known, but the Cinnabar Market is something new.

Left clerk sells all the vitamins at P9800. Right clerk sells the herbal medicine, same prices as the place in the Underground Market.

In the lab, you can enter the first room to find an old man who can trade an Electrode if you have a Raichu. The girl nearby will trade a Tangela if you have a Venonat. In the second room, a guy can teach Metronome. The last room has a guy who will trade his Seel for a Ponyta, plus the guy who can resurrect the fossils. Which of course, you've been holding for a long while. Go ahead and get your Aerodactyl, Kabuto, and Omanyte now.

GLITCH: The dialogue for resurrecting a fossil will say that it will be transferred to the PC, no matter if you have room in your party or not. If you have room, your fossil Pokemon will be in your party though.

Time to see if that key is in the Pokemon Mansion.

On the first floor, check the rock pile on the left side. A Moon Stone is hidden there. Ignore the steps and head NE to an Escape Rope. Notice the door. Head west to see a statue that might be important.

Youngster Johnson: Ekans Lv54, Ekans Lv54, Raticate Lv55, P880

The switch will open the door that you saw. Go to the room there to get a Protein. Go back to the switch and after pressing it, head all the way to the NE corner and then south. Well, actually you can't head further as there are two more doors here. Time to take the steps to the next floor.

Burglar Arnie: Charmander Lv55, Charmeleon Lv55, P880

Head south and pick up a Zinc. Nothing's in the SW room. To the NW is some steps and to the NE is a Calcium. The steps would be sealed off if you used the switch by the way. Let's take the steps near the statue.

Burglar Simon: Ninetales Lv57, P912

All that's here is a Max Potion. Go back a floor and take the NW steps. Head east to get an Iron. Go back, use the switch, then go SE.

Scientist Braydon: Magnemite Lv55, Magneton Lv55, P11000

There's two pits here, plus some steps leading down. Take the steps first to pick up an HP Up. Go back to the pits, don't fall in the right one, as it leads to a place you've been to. Fall in the left one back to 1F.

Scientist Ted: Electrode Lv52, Weezing Lv53, P10600

Pick up a Carbos. If you head east (assuming doors aren't in the way) and exit you'll just exit the mansion. Take the steps downstairs to the basement.

Burglar Lewis: Growlithe Lv56, Ponyta Lv56, P896

Get a Full Restore to the west and use the switch in the south room. Head around to the NE now.

Scientist Ivan: Magneton Lv56, Electrode Lv57, P11400

Get TM14 Blizzard in the second room before heading to the first room to get the switch. After using it, enter the west room. Do not read the note yet, head south to get TM22 Solarbeam. Now read the note, a diary that talks about both Mew and Mewtwo. You get the Secret Key. But just being here is enough, Archer and Ariana arrive to try and dispose of you.

Executive Ariana: Crobat Lv56, Nidoqueen Lv56, Espeon Lv56, Milotic Lv56, Gengar Lv58, P2320 Executive Archer: Crobat Lv57, Nidoking Lv57, Umbreon Lv57, Gyarados Lv57, Alakazam Lv59, P2360

Wait, so it WASN'T Deoxys that Giovanni wanted? Looks like Mewtwo was what Giovanni wanted most. We're then told to stop playing the hero here. Anyways, you have the Secret Key and can unlock the door to Blaine's gym now. Jim Gai will give you a Moomoo Milk. Ready for some quizzing? Well, these are the same questions as the original game so if you want to get them all, look it up elsewhere as they are the exact same. Still gonna list the trainers.

Burglar Quinn: Growlithe Lv57, Magmar Lv58, Ninetales Lv58, P928 Super Nerd Erik: Vulpix Lv56, Ninetales Lv56, Ninetales Lv57, P4104 Super Nerd Avery: Rapidash Lv56, Charmeleon Lv57, Vulpix Lv58, Arcanine Lv58, P4176 Burglar Ramon: Rapidash Lv60, P960 Super Nerd Derek: Rapidash Lv61, P4392 Burglar Dusty: Ninetales Lv58, Magmar Lv58, P928 Super Nerd Zac: Arcanine Lv59, Ninetales Lv60, P4320

Gym Leader Blaine: Arcanine Lv61, Ninetales Lv61, Rapidash Lv62, Magmortar Lv63 (holds Sitrus Berry), P6300, Volcano Badge, and TM38 Fire Blast

When you leave, yep, Red/Green comes once again. Mr. Fuji is waiting for us at the Cinnabar lab, so that's where we'll be heading to next. The top mart clerk now sells the following in addition to existing wares:

  • Full Restore: P3000
  • Max Revive: P4000
  • Max Elixir: P4500

Enter the lab and enter the first room to find Red/Green, Blue, and Dr. Fuji. He tells the story of the lab's founder, how he found and cloned Mew in a jungle and it birthed Mewtwo. Mewtwo grew powerful and burned down the Pokemon Mansion, the place it was created. Mewtwo was in fact the one who did the Great Tohjo Purge. Then we hear about Deoxys, how someone else sought its power to confront Mewtwo, though Deoxys was destroyed with only its crystal remaining. Mewtwo had fled as a result of this battle while the scientist exiled himself. Or rather, we know that the scientist is in fact...Dr. Fuji himself! Yes, he was the one who created Mewtwo. He tells this because he thinks Giovanni is searching for Mewtwo. Something that is different from what Kamon thought. A random Rocket grunt comes in. It seems this grunt is only playing messenger. The message is sent to you that the Devil's Prism is complete. Though it seems Giovanni lacks his Master Balls. Kamon told him so in a lie. That said, he wants to bargain with you and get his other Master Ball back without punishment. This is despite his own scientists trying to create a Master Ball of their own. In other words, it is officially time to enter the Cerulean Cave. Yes, before you can even head to the Pokemon League. Blue and Red/Green leave and you talk to Fuji. He reasons it might be better for you to capture Mewtwo with the Master Ball before Giovanni does. Let's fly on over to Cerulean Cave for our mission. Just a heads up, you'll need both Rock Smash and Surf here. Go to Route 24, surf south, and then you'll reach the destination.

CERULEAN CAVE [CERC]

Team Rocket Grunt: Raticate Lv55, Raticate Lv56, P11200

Team Rocket Grunt: Persian Lv56, P11200

Take the NE ladder and go all the way around. Smash two rocks to get TM24 Thunderbolt. Head back to the first floor and continue west.

Team Rocket Grunt: Raticate Lv56, Golbat Lv56, P11200

Pick up a Nugget here. Don't bother with the nearby ladder, there's nothing at the bottom. Take the ladder SW of there, smash a rock, and follow the path to the end to get a PP Up. Back on 1F.

Team Rocket Grunt: Arbok Lv56, Weezing Lv56, P11200

Head south. Ready for an unnecessary battle with Blue? Actually it won't happen. He'll heal you instead. Keep going and pick up a Full Restore.

Team Rocket Grunt: Gloom Lv56, Vileplume Lv56, P11200

Team Rocket Grunt: Muk Lv55, Weezing Lv56, P11200

The ladder nearby leads nowhere special. All that's here is a single grunt.

Team Rocket Grunt: Weezing Lv55, Machoke Lv56, P11200

Head back and head around to the middle ladder. Ignore it and head across the bridge all the way to the north, then east and south to a Max Elixir. A grunt is to the west, while there's a way back if you go clockwise around the perimeter.

Team Rocket Grunt: Raticate Lv55, Muk Lv55, P11000

Go back to the ladder and take it. Head west, south at the fork, then west and SW. Follow the path until the next fork and get the Ultra Ball to the east. Head back west, south, east, and then east at the four-way.

Team Rocket Grunt: Gloom Lv56, Houndour Lv56, P11200

Smash two rocks and follow the path to an Odd Incense. Return to the four-way intersection and head all the way north, then west to another grunt.

Team Rocket Grunt: Grimer Lv56, Koffing Lv56, Persian Lv55, P11000

Head right this time, following the zigzag path.

Team Rocket Grunt: Haunter Lv57 (holds Black Belt (?)), P11400

Red/Green come behind you, and you get healed again. Keep going.

Team Rocket Grunt: Raticate Lv54, Golbat Lv54, Persian Lv55, P11000

Team Rocket Grunt: Hypno Lv56, Golbat Lv58, P11600

Next floor, just a grunt and a ladder.

Team Rocket Grunt: Hypno Lv57, Houndoom Lv58, P11600

Take the next ladder and head SE first for an Ultra Ball. Go back and take the north path.

Team Rocket Grunt: Primeape Lv59, P11800

Blue's on the way again. You have to talk to him to heal if you need to. But you can now heal at any time.

Team Rocket Grunt: Murkrow Lv58, Vileplume Lv59, P11800

Pick up another Max Elixir to the east and continue south.

Team Rocket Grunt: Weezing Lv60, P12000

Before you start surfing, pick up another PP Up to the west. Surf east and north and follow the zigzag path. Past that, head east first to get a Max Revive. Head back and south, where Kamon interrupts you. He says he's already caught the Pokemon his father wanted, but we know he's mistaken. He just walks past you. Follow him.

Team Rocket Grunt: Marowak Lv59, Victreebel Lv60, Graveler Lv61, P12200

Follow the zigzag path to the cave entrance to see Mewtwo. Giovanni is right behind you. He'll be happy and demand the Master Ball, but Mewtwo immediately attacks instead. It's Lv63, do what you can with it. The game will actually instruct you to catch it, and automatically go to the PC to retrieve it as well as put it in the front of your party. Do so to continue. You will then see Kamon, who's here to stop his dad. Well, things are in a misunderstanding, and Kamon actually just attacks you instead.

Team Rocket Kamon: P13000

Deoxys Lv63: Psycho Boost, Signal Beam, Superpower, Ice Beam, holds Sitrus Berry | Houndoom Lv63: Crunch, Flamethrower, Sludge Bomb, Shadow Ball | Nidoking Lv63: Flamethrower, Ice Beam, Earthquake, Toxic | Kabutops Lv63: Waterfall, Rock Slide, Superpower, Swords Dance | Altaria Lv63: Double Team, Dragonbreath, Perish Song, Hyper Beam | Porygon-Z Lv65: Tri Attack, Signal Beam, Ice Beam, Psychic

(yes I was able to get his full moveset this time)

Now Giovanni gets ridiculous. Yes, you got the Master Ball (received from Kamon), managed to get Mewtwo, and humiliated his son. Giovanni reveals he unleashed Deoxys back then, in order to defeat Mewtwo. And now you must battle Giovanni this time.

Rocket Boss Giovanni: P5280

Honchkrow Lv64: Swagger, Shadow Ball, Heat Wave, Icy Wind | Kangaskhan Lv64: Fake Out, Dizzy Punch, Outrage, Body Slam | Crobat Lv64: Poison Fang, Mean Look, Aerial Ace, Haze | Omastar Lv64: Hydro Pump, Ancientpower, Earthquake, Ice Beam | Nidoqueen Lv64: Double Kick, Earthquake, Toxic, Body Slam | Rhyperior Lv66: Megahorn, Earthquake, Thunderpunch, Rock Slide, holds Sitrus Berry

Giovanni then realizes how you're a better trainer who takes better care of Pokemon, he couldn't ever like Mewtwo since it was responsible for his wife's death. He then decides to disband Team Rocket. He leaves, and Kamon follows him out. Red/Green and Blue come in now. They're happy, and with eight Kanto badges, we're all ready for the league. Take the ladder here for a shortcut out. Go back to Viridian City and head west.

ROUTE 22 [RT22]

Encounters are the same as when you could go here way earlier in the game, so I won't go over them again. After the first grass patch is an obligatory battle with Blue.

PKMN Trainer Blue: Pidgeot Lv64, Rhyperior Lv64, Gyarados/Arcanine/Exeggutor Lv64, Gyarados/Arcanine/Exeggutor Lv64, Machamp Lv64, (opposing starter) Lv67, P6700

Keep going and you'll soon see Kamon and Giovanni. Seems Giovanni is leaving on a solo trip to be better at leading an organization. Kamon is upset cause he's thought of him as a number one guy. Giovanni leaves with Kamon yelling at him before he heads to you. He'll now have a fresh start in a different region: Johto. He's since released all of his Pokemon, including Deoxys, and he'll also leave for his journey. This might be the last we see of them in this hack. Go through the gate and with eight badges, you're ready for the trek to the league.

Psychic Richard: Espeon Lv60, P1200

Ace Trainer Reena: Starmie Lv60, Starmie Lv61, Nidoqueen Lv61, P4392

PKMN Trainer Red/Green: Nidoking/Nidoqueen Lv65, Clefable Lv65, Dragonair Lv65, Scizor Lv65, Vaporeon/Leafeon/Flareon Lv65, (opposing starter) Lv67, P2412

VICTORY ROAD [VICT]

Mons found:

Golem: 20% | Machoke: 20% | Steelix: 20% | Golbat: 10% | Rhydon: 10% | Sandslash: 5% | Arbok: 5% | Bronzong: 5% | Marowak: 5%

You'll need Strength here. Move the boulder and follow the path.

Ace Trainer Naomi: Persian Lv61, Ponyta Lv61, Rapidash Lv61, Vulpix Lv61, Ninetales Lv61, P4392

Take the west steps, because you can't head anywhere if you take the right steps. Go under the bridge and at the south end you can get a Full Heal. Head west and north. When you see boulders, move them and get TM02 Dragon Claw. The cave here leads outside where you can find Moltres Lv57! Afterwards, head back in and to the left and up.

Ace Trainer Rolando: Raticate Lv61, Ivysaur Lv61, Wartortle Lv61, Charmeleon Lv61, Charizard Lv61, P4392

Take the ladder and move the boulder.

Pokemaniac Dawson: Charmeleon Lv59, Lapras Lv59, Lickilicky Lv59, P2832

We'll check the ladder and then go back after this trainer.

Ace Trainer Colby: Kingler Lv60, Poliwhirl Lv61, Tentacruel Lv61, Seadra Lv61, Blastoise Lv61, P4392

Let's take the path back and up a cliff, then east.

Black Belt Daisuke: Machoke Lv59, Machop Lv62, Machoke Lv62, P1488

Juggler Nelson: Drowzee Lv60, Hypno Lv60, Kadabra Lv60, Kadabra Lv60, P2160

Take the ladder, fall in the hole, and pick up TM37 Sandstorm.

Juggler Gregory: Mr. Mime Lv67, P2412

Follow the path, moving the boulder and then taking the ladder. The hole is glitched, it doesn't make you fall down.

Ace Trainer George: Exeggutor Lv61, Sandslash Lv61, Cloyster Lv61, Electrode Lv61, Arcanine Lv61, P4392

You'll soon get to two holes. Enter the left one to pick up TM26 Earthquake. If you took the south one, you'll be near the next ladder and forced to go to it, whereas taking the left hole gives you both the TM and the ladder.

Ace Trainer Alexa: Clefairy Lv61, Jigglypuff Lv61, Persian Lv61, Dewgong Lv61, Chansey Lv61, P4392

Ace Trainer Caroline: Bellsprout Lv61, Weepinbell Lv61, Victreebel Lv61, Paras Lv61, Parasect Lv61, P4392

This area is the ledge near the NW end, which you could have accessed if you went east from Colby. The hole leads back. Move around it and get the Rare Candy that is slightly hidden there. Break three rocks with Rock Smash to get TM07 Hail. And with that, head north and you're done!

INDIGO PLATEAU [INDI]

Here we are, enter the building and make all your preparations.

Ultra Ball: P1200 | Great Ball: P600 | Full Restore: P3000 | Max Potion: P2500 | Revive: P1500 | Full Heal: P600 | Max Repel: P700

You should know who the Elite Four of the Indigo League are: Lorelei, Bruno, Agatha, and Lance. Hope you're prepared. When you first enter, you'll realize that you can choose any of the four side doors to challenge the Elite Four at your choosing. Neat. But we'll go in the order everyone should be familiar with, which is also the order from left to right.

Elite Four Lorelei: P7300

Dewgong Lv71: Surf, Ice Beam, Signal Beam, Double Team | Cloyster Lv71: Rain Dance, Surf, Ice Beam, Supersonic | Glaceon Lv71: Blizzard, Shadow Ball, Water Pulse, Mirror Coat | Jynx Lv71: Psychic, Ice Beam, Lovely Kiss, Attract | Lapras Lv73: Psychic, Thunder, Surf, Ice Beam, holds Sitrus Berry

Elite Four Bruno: P7300

Primeape Lv71: Outrage, Thunderpunch, Dynamicpunch, Swagger | Hitmontop Lv71: Earthquake, Quick Attack, Triple Kick, Counter | Hitmonchan Lv71: Sky Uppercut, Mach Punch, Rock Slide, Counter | Hitmonlee Lv71: Mega Kick, Foresight, Earthquake, Rock Slide | Machamp Lv73: Brick Break, Cross Chop, Earthquake, Rock Slide, holds Sitrus Berry

Elite Four Agatha: P7300

Crobat Lv71: Confuse Ray, Air Cutter, Shadow Ball, Sludge Bomb | Arbok Lv71: Double Team, Sludge Bomb, Earthquake, Giga Drain | Tentacruel Lv71: Toxic, Hydro Pump, Sludge Bomb, Ice Beam | Muk Lv71: Minimize, Screech, Swagger, Toxic | Gengar Lv73: Shadow Ball, Sludge Bomb, Psychic, Thunderbolt, holds Sitrus Berry

Elite Four Lance: P7300

Gyarados Lv71: Rain Dance, Earthquake, Thunder Wave, Hyper Beam | Kingdra Lv71: Dragon Dance, Surf, Ice Beam, Hyper Beam | Aerodactyl Lv71: Aerial Ace, Ancientpower, Earthquake, Hyper Beam | Altaria Lv71: Double Team, Dragonbreath, Perish Song, Hyper Beam | Dragonite Lv73: Thunderbolt, Outrage, Ice Beam, Hyper Beam, holds Sitrus Berry

I believe the last person you battle will give you the hint as to who the champion is. I am unsure if it changes depending on which one you challenge last (I went in the usual order so it was Lance), but in any case they will tell you that, yes, Blue, your rival, of course became champion. The door at the top is open, and you should be ready for the last challenge.

Champion Blue: P15200

Pidgeot Lv74: Aerial Ace, Featherdance, Sand-Attack, Whirlwind | Machamp Lv74: Cross Chop, Bulk Up, Rock Slide, Thunderpunch | Rhyperior Lv74: Take Down, Earthquake, Rock Tomb, Megahorn | Exeggutor Lv74: Giga Drain, Egg Bomb, Sleep Powder, Light Screen (he will not have Exeggutor if you chose Squirtle) | Arcanine Lv74: Extremespeed, Flamethrower, Roar, Bite (he will not have Arcanine if you chose Bulbasaur) | Gyarados Lv74: Hydro Pump, Dragon Rage, Bite, Thrash (he will not have Gyarados if you chose Charmander) | Venusaur Lv76 (if you chose Squirtle): Solarbeam, Sludge Bomb, Earthquake, Sunny Day, holds Sitrus Berry | Charizard Lv76 (if you chose Bulbasaur): Fire Blast, Dragon Claw, Aerial Ace, Earthquake, holds Sitrus Berry | Blastoise Lv76 (if you chose Charmander): Hydro Pump, Ice Beam, Earthquake, Rain Dance, holds Sitrus Berry

If the info above confuses you, you'll always battle Pidgeot, Machamp, and Rhyperior, and depending on your starter you will have to face these three:

If Bulbasaur: Gyarados, Exeggutor, Charizard | If Charmander: Exeggutor, Arcanine, Blastoise | If Squirtle: Gyarados, Arcanine, Venusaur

Oak comes in, seems he's going to be a jerk to his grandson or something, but will also tell you to keep exploring around, noting a specific place called the Battle Zone, which you can access from Vermillion City. Neat. Then you go to the Hall of Fame room and the credits as usual. We're now in the post-game, there's tons of stuff to do, but what shall we do before we go to a battle zone? Hmm, how about challenging some elite trainers? One of which is Prof. Oak himself in his lab in Pallet Town.

PKMN Trainer Prof. Oak: P2844

Tauros Lv77: Take Down, Earthquake, Double-edge, Rock Slide | Exeggutor Lv77: Hypnosis, Psychic, Stomp, Giga Drain | Arcanine Lv77: Flamethrower, Roar, Extremespeed, Bite | Dragonite Lv77: Outrage, Hyper Beam, Fly, Dragon Dance | Charizard Lv77: Flamethrower, Air Cutter, Dragonbreath, Solarbeam | Gyarados Lv79: Waterfall, Bite, Dragon Dance, Thrash

Another trainer you can battle is Mr. Fuji, a former champion. He's in his home in Lavender Town.

PKMN Trainer Mr. Fuji: Aerodactyl Lv77, Lapras Lv77, Electivire Lv77, Clefable Lv77, Machamp Lv77, Alakazam Lv79 (holds Sitrus Berry), P2844

(sorry in advance I wasn't able to get the full movesets of these Pokemon)

In Celadon City, head to Chaos Rush Headquarters. You can battle some of the trainers on the rooftop, with Gira being the first of them. Ferdy is off to the east too.

PKMN Trainer Gira: Nidoqueen Lv77, Poliwrath Lv77 (holds Leftovers), Crobat Lv77, Arcanine Lv77, Electivire Lv77, Venusaur Lv79 (holds Lum Berry), P2844

PKMN Trainer Ferdy: Gyarados Lv77, Victreebel Lv77, Houndoom Lv77, Honchkrow Lv77, Scizor Lv77, Gengar Lv79 (holds White Herb), P2844

And you can battle the creator of the rom hack himself by going to the top floor.

PKMN Trainer Chaos Rush: Dragonair Lv77 (holds Sitrus Berry), Pidgeot Lv77 (holds Liechi Berry), Dewgong Lv77 (holds Leftovers), Scizor Lv77 (holds Liechi Berry), Tentacruel Lv77 (holds Leftovers), Rapidash Lv79 (holds Liechi Berry), P2844

As a side note, all of the trainers I mentioned here can be rematched at any time. I think at this point that's all the post-game trainers in Kanto that can be rematched. Let's head to Vermillion City where we can now take a ferry to three locations: Battle Zone, Birth Island, and Faraway Island. I think you know where this is headed. We'll do Battle Zone first, since the AuroraTicket and OriginTicket are required to get to the other two locations.

P AREA [PARE]

The port where people and Pokemon cross paths with nature

Red/Green comes to give you a starter, the one that he/she chose at the start of their journey.

Mart bottom clerk wares are the same as Cinnabar Island and Saffron City.

ROUTE A [RTEA]

Mons found:

Magikarp: 100% (old rod), 20% (good rod) | Tentacool: 90% (surf) | Horsea: 80% (good rod), 80% (super rod) | Fearow: 35% | Tangela: 30% | Gyarados: 15% (super rod) | Noctowl: 14% | Persian: 14% | Tentacruel: 10% (surf) | Golduck: 5% | Seadra: 4% (super rod) | Bronzong: 2% | Psyduck: 1% (super rod)

The house at the north end has an old lady who has perfected a move of its type. This move is Frenzy Plant, Blast Burn, or Hydro Cannon for any of the Kanto starters. If you want to learn it, you must put the fully-evolved starter in the front of the party.

You can immediately head west to Route F. I'll only cover the trainer on this side of the beach though.

Fisherman Willington: Lapras Lv65, P4680

Continuing south on Route A.

Ace Trainer Michelle: Houndoom Lv65, Dewgong Lv65, Ninetales Lv66, Magnezone Lv66, P4752

South and SE. You don't need to go to the water, but there is a waterfall here. You don't actually have the Waterfall HM but it's not needed.

Bird Keeper Milo: Pidgeot Lv64, Honchkrow Lv64, P4608

There's a rest house where you can heal. You can then choose the low road of surfing (which actually avoids the last two trainers) or the high road to get further south. This assumes you're taking the high road.

Battle Girl Cyndy: Primeape Lv64, Hitmontop Lv64, Machoke Lv64, P1280 (all mons hold a Black Belt)

Psychic Dario: Espeon Lv65, P1300

T AREA [TARE]

A tiny city where trainers who love battling more than eating gather

Bottom mart wares are the same as the P area.

Daisy is in front of the Battle Maze entrance, and gives you the AuroraTicket. Yay! If you wanna take the Battle Maze, good luck here. In this facility, you go through several rooms which may have trainers in them. There are Gate Trainers sometimes as well, they are there to see if you're ready to get to the Boss Trainer. Beating the gate trainer can open up the way to the boss as well as give you a directional hint as to where that boss trainer is. Other trainers you beat will also give you hints as to what trainer they are or what Pokemon they use. Note, you MUST beat the gate trainer to unlock the way to the boss trainer. I for one have noticed that the trainers and the layout in it are randomized each time you enter, but here's a few patterns I found.

Aroma Lady Rose: Sunflora Lv64, Slowking Lv64, P1792

GLITCH: Although you can enter the elevator you came out of when you take the battle maze to return at any point, I suggest not doing it. In one pattern I ended up entering a glitchy area and got into a glitch battle that can screw the game.

Anyways, whenever you want, you can go to Birth Island via the AuroraTicket from Daisy. No need to solve the puzzle, you can catch Deoxys Lv70 right then and there!

Two ways out of T Area, to the west and to the south. Both routes will lead to the same place, so we'll cover one route, then double-back and cover the second route. To the west first.

Keep following the path until you get to a ladder to the north. Follow the path back outside, then head east and to the next cave entrance. This leads to Heatran Lv70!

And that pretty much is it on everything in Pokemon Dark Violet! The Battle Zone is of course a place where you can challenge trainers in the Battle Maze or the gym leaders/rivals in the Battleground. Plus the elite trainers I mentioned earlier in Kanto and maybe also the Elite Four/Blue in the Indigo League again. The very last thing to do is, if you managed to catch all 210 Pokemon in the dex, go back to Celadon City's condominiums, head to the third floor, and speak to the developer to get the diploma. This hack was a fun re-imagining of Kanto with quite a few twists, and was worth playing. Hopefully this guide helped people get through the game!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: Do you have a PokeDex or evolution changes?

A: If you're looking for a Pokedex section, I've decided not to do one. The download for this ROM hack features a document that lists both the Pokemon you can catch as well as the evolution changes. It's in an actual document with the file, so that would be your best source. You can also get the same document from the PokeCommunity thread, courtesy of the hack's author.

Q: Does this take place in the same time frame as R/B/Y/FR/LG?

A: I would say yes, because Koga is a gym leader and not an Elite Four member like he would be in the Johto games, and neither Blue nor Janine is a gym leader at any point. The only real difference is Daisy taking Giovanni's gym.

Q: What are some easily missable Pokemon in this hack?

A: Apart from the rare Safari Zone encounters, I'd say that this hack is balanced well for wild encounters and evolution changes. The only thing I'd say apart from catching those encounters as well as the legendaries is to remember to breed Eevee to get the remaining Eeveelutions as well as Chansey/Blissey with a Luck Incense in order to get Happiny (Happiny I think cannot be caught anywhere). Also remember that Red/Green gives you their starter in P Area and Blue gives you his starter in M Area.
