Pokemon Scorching Scarlet version 1.2 detailed walkthrough by Olivia R. (note this is a ROM hack, I do not own this and will not distribute this hack, but I am the author of this walkthrough so if you use it credit me). As a reminder, you need a clean Pokemon Ruby ROM (please Google it), a patching utility like Lunar IPS and a GBA Emulator (I used VBA) to play Pokemon Scorching Scarlet (you can also google a pre-patched rom too).

I will list things that need to be listed, although for catching mons, I am unable to figure out the encounter rates of a few mons, so they will just be listed without percentages.

Notable things in this hack:

-Several mons from future generations (Gen-4 - Gen-6)

-Certain moves have changes to them (for example Strength is now a Rock type move, and Air Slash, a move that debuted after Gen-3, shows up)

-Numerous sitcom references all over the place

-Lots of post-game content

-Certain mons have type changes.

NEWTOWN [NEWT] - A Town Where Anything Seems Possible!

So the intro has us meeting Professor Sequoia. Turns out the town we'll be going to is Newtown. Essentially, it is Littleroot renamed and re-styled (having played Grass Jewel and its sequel prior to this, yes, it does look like a town with lots of flowers as well as some extra grass and a path to the south, plus the randomly-placed mons for show). Mom shows you inside your home. For whatever reason, the room upstairs is blocked by a Fresh Water. Upstairs, the PC has another Fresh Water, and you should just set the clock as usual. Inspecting the map, well, it's Hoenn, except every location now has a different name, as if to give the feel you're in for seeing stuff from sitcoms and such. Miss the interview as usual, then you'll be directed to head to Sequoia's home. Meet Brendan/May upstairs, then afterwards, make your way to Route 1.

As usual, Sequoia fulfills Birch's own role in that he's chased by a Poochyena. The starters you can choose from are Riolu, Growlithe, and Rockruff. Battle the Poochyena, then you'll be back at the lab. He'll let you keep your mon then say that Brendan is in Route 2 and we should meet him. Now we can head to Route 1 proper.

You can skip the grass here. Head straight to the next town.

RIVERDALE [RIVD] - The Town with Pep

Mart wares:

Potion: P100

Antidote: P100

Parlyz Heal: P100

Awakening: P100

Named after a drama series. And yes, there'll be characters here, like in the SE house which has Betty Cooper, Jughead Jones, Archie Andrews, and Veronica Lodge. Talk to the mart clerk to receive your free Potion. Fred Andrews is inside the PokeMart for some reason. Also the Herb Shop which would usually be at Lavaridge is here too.

Energypowder: P200

Energy Root: P500

Heal Powder: P200

Revival Herb: P1000

Yes that's another house here. It's actually Pop's Chock'Lit Shoppe. Talk to Pop Tate and you can buy a Milkshake for P100 (I think this is actually the Berry Juice). Josie McCoy is here too. Enter the PokeCenter. If you talk to the guy in the NW corner, he'll offer the option of playing in a PG-rated world where language is censored or not. For the record, this guy was in Oldale in the Grass Jewel games, and I still don't know if this has any major effect on gameplay or not. Upstairs are the Move Deleter, Move Tutor, and Name Rater, just like in the Grass Jewel games. They will be in every PokeCenter for convenience. Let's go north now (I noticed there would be a guy blocking this way too with a bunch of Wingulls, but he disappeared after I entered the PokeCenter).

PKMN Trainer Brendan/May: Riolu/Growlithe/Rockruff Lv5, P300

Follow Brendan/May back to the lab to receive your Pokedexes as usual and the 5 Poke Balls. Talk to Mom to get your Running Shoes, now have fun catching mons and I'll meet you on Route 3. But before that! Check the mart wares. This will be the wares you find in PokeMarts from now on!

First off, the PokeMart's first clerk sells the same wares as before. There's an additional clerk at the mart which sells the following wares.

King's Rock: P2500

Leftovers: P2500

Soothe Bell: P1200

Exp. Share: P2000

Quick Claw: P2000

Poke Shell: P50 (note: Shoal Shell)

Poke Doll: P100

Fluffy Tail: P100

Sea Incense: P1000

Lax Incense: P1000

I'm sure this clerk will be in other big towns as well. River City is the name of an actual sitcom, although it is the name of the setting in the Music Man and we’re gonna be seeing characters from that play here. Harold Hill will sing Ya Got Trouble to you if you talk to him. Marian and Winthrop Paroo are in the SW house. A Poke Ball is sitting at the entrance to the gym. Talk to your dad Norman and go through the Wally tutorial again. You'll be told to head to New York City (which is technically Rustboro) to challenge the first gym leader, Chloe. Anyways, a man and a Wingull are blocking the way west. Guess what? It's Phil Coulson from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Have some room in your roster, he'll give you a Pokemon. It's a Pichu! It's actually a spiky-eared Pichu, interesting.

There is no Petalburg Woods here, just a straight shot path to and from the north and south sides of the route.

Youngster Billy: Yanma Lv9, Taillow Lv9, P144

A hidden Heart Scale is at the SW end of the beach. Talk to the fisherman here and you'll get the Old Rod! A hidden Potion is at the NW end of the beach. The house here where Mr. Briney's house is home to characters from Revenge: Emily Thorne, Aiden Mathis, and Nolan Ross.

Rich Boy Winston: Zigzagoon Lv10, P2000

So yes, the area where Petalburg Woods would be is just a large stretch, you'll just go straight to the north half of Route 4. Get TM09 Bullet Seed from the kid here. Enter the Pretty Petal Flower Shop, talk to the girls, agree, get Wailmer Pail, and get a free berry. There's a new house to the north of the flower shop, with Frequency's Raimy Sullivan. Outside the house, you can find a hidden Poke Ball at the SW corner of the house, and a Super Potion between the grass patches NE of the house. Not to mention a shortcut to Rustbo...I mean New York City. But let's look at the trainers here too.

Lady Cindy: Zigzagoon Lv10, P2000

Lass Haley: Poliwag Lv10, Shroomish Lv10, P160

Why yes, that is a long path south of Haley. It leads to the raised ledge on the south half of the route with the Poke Ball. There's a path to the east that leads to Stars Hollow, but let's see the rest of the route first.

Twins Gina&Mia: Lotad Lv10, Seedot Lv10, P240

Fisherman Ivan: Magikarp Lv8, Magikarp Lv8, Feebas Lv9, P360

You can get a free berry from the nearby granny. The house here is new and has the Samantha Who? cast, in other words Samantha, Todd, Regina, Howard, Dena, and Andrea. So we have two places to visit. Let's start with Stars Hollow.

STARS HOLLOW [STHO] - FOUNDED 1779

This is the setting of Gilmore Girls. The first house is Sookie's, with Sookie and Jackson. Next door is Kirk's house, but no one's inside. Head east to two more houses, the first of which is Lorelai's house, with Emily and Richard Gilmore inside (no one is upstairs). The home next door is Babette's with Babette and Morey inside. Two big buildings to the north, the one on the right is Sophie's Music, but it's locked. The one next door is Black, White, and Read Bookshop and Theatre. Nothing of importance inside, so head west to three more buildings. The first of these, Miss Patty's Dance School, is blocked, as Kirk is working on something important. Stars Hollow Beauty Supply next door is locked, but Weston Bakery is open. Inside you can talk to Logan, Rory, Paris, and Doyle

Outside to the north are three more buildings, with Robert, Finn, and Colin chanting In Omnia Paratus, plus Grant nearby. Kim's Antiques is locked, but Stars Hollow Books is open. The Steven-like person is Andrew, and Christopher is here too. Doose's Market is here, with Bootsy walking and Dean running the shop. The mart wares are a combination of the regular mart wares we'll be seeing throughout the game, although there is a new item called a Figurine which can restore PP when held (P500). To the east are two big buildings. The first is Luke's Diner, with Brian, Zack, Kirk, Lulu, Lorelai, Lane, Luke, and Caesar. Talking to Lane will allow you to buy stuff. Coffee for P300 (HP-healing held item) or Scone for P200 (status-healing held item). Upstairs is T.J. and Jess. The next place is Taylor's Olde Fashioned Soda Shoppe, with Sophie, Gypsy, Miss Patty, and Taylor inside.

To the north are three more buildings. The rightmost is Al's Pancake World, the center is Stars Hollow Video, and the leftmost is Antonioli's Restaurant. All are locked. Enter the enclosed fence near the restaurant and inspect the space next to the sign to get a Figurine. The last building is the Dragonfly Inn. Tom is outside commenting on it. Inside is Michel. That's all there is to this place! Just an area to get the Gilmore Girls cast all over the place. But we will actually be back here a little bit later. Now let’s head north from Route 4 to the Big Apple.

NEW YORK CITY [NEYC] - The greatest city in the world

First off, go to the right edge of the fence and follow it for a Lucky Egg. Now enter the city proper. This area will have numerous references, such as Friends, considering the first building on the left is Central Perk, a location there. There's a guy named Chuck Baxter at the entrance. Mike, Phoebe, Ross, Janice, and Gunther. You can buy Coffee and Scone from Gunther (same price as in Stars Hollow). Rachel upstairs will give you a free Premier Ball. Joey is here as well. The third floor has Monica and Chandler.

The mart wares will be the same as usual. The Moondance Diner is to the right of the PokeMart. Inside is Kiri (the girl who would normally be at Sootopolis). There's also a quartet of men and Julio, and you can't go behind the counter. The building next door has the Glee Cast, with Rachel, Santana, Kurt, Blaine, Sam, and Mercedes on the first floor. The Odd Couple is featured on the second floor with Oscar and Felix at the table. Third floor has Niles, Max, and Fran from The Nanny. Fourth floor has Derek, Ivy, and Karen from Smash. Alex, Ryan, and Shelby from Quantico are on the fifth floor, and J.T. Forbes from Beauty and the Beast is on the sixth floor. On the seventh floor is the cast from Daredevil (Karen Page, Foggy Nelson, Matt Murdock). Eighth floor has Jessica Jones herself along with Luke Cage and Trish Walker from her TV show. Ninth floor has the Sex and the City cast: Mr. Big, Miranda Hobbes, and Carrie Bradshaw. Feeling tired yet? There's a tenth floor with Neal Cassidy from Once Upon a Time up here.

Well, that's a wrap. Kevin McCallister from Home Alone is at the PokeCenter. The NYPD 12th Precinct is left of the PokeCenter, with Castle characters inside (Rick Castle, Kate Beckett, Alexis Castle, Javi Esposito, Kevin Ryan, and Captain Victoria Gates). The building north of both is The Daily Planet. In the Grass Jewel games, you can challenge the cast of Smallville to battles, but here you'll just see Lois Lane and Clark Kent. Upstairs is Cat Grant, Jimmy Olsen, and Perry White.

Head to the building with the fountain in front of it. Guess what? That Togepi outside? You can catch it (Lv10). Enter this building to find characters from I Love Lucy (Fred and Ethel Mertz on the first floor, Lucy and Ricky Ricardo on the second). Two buildings are north of this one. The left has characters from Forever (Jo Martinez, Henry Morgan, Abe Morgan) as well as Martha Rodgers from Castle. The right house has characters from The Newsroom (Will McAvoy, Mackenzie McHale, and Sloan Sabbith) on the first floor, and no one on the second.

The Devon Corporation has been replaced with the Luthor Corporation (from Smallville). East of the gym is MacLaren's Pub, with the usual How I Met Your Mother characters, including Carl, Robin Scherbatsky, Ted Mosby, Marshall Eriksen, Lily Aldrin, and Barney Stinson. No one's on the second floor (back in the Grass Jewel games, you could never actually go up there, but now I'm disappointed). Anyways, you can challenge the gym now (oh and if you think about going to the route to the north, a guard will block the way). Chloe is a user of the Dark type.

Youngster Tommy: Poochyena Lv15, P240

Youngster Josh: Carvanha Lv14, Houndour Lv14, Poochyena Lv15, P240

Chloe Sullivan from Smallville awaits!

Leader Chloe: P3808, Eclipse Badge, TM49 Crunch

Zorua Lv15, Crunch, Thunderbolt, Flamethrower, Ice Beam, holds Blackglasses

Sneasel Lv15, Crunch, Blizzard, Silver Wind, Rock Slide, holds Nevermeltice

Murkrow Lv16, Crunch, Silver Wind, Drill Peck, Ancientpower, holds Sharp Beak

Absol Lv16, Crunch, Psychic, Silver Wind, Ancientpower, holds Blackglasses

Umbreon Lv17, Crunch, Psychic, Silver Wind, Moonlight, holds Leftovers

The cutscene as you exit the gym and head west is a tad different, no one runs by. However, the Luthor Corp building is open! Lois and Clark are investigating a possible murder/homicide that happened. Let's see for ourselves what happened. Well, the clerk says someone got stupidly robbed, and we can also access the second floor. Like in the Grass Jewel games, you can buy all the mails from the right scientist on the couch for P50. Buy a Harbor Mail for later. The left scientist sells various Poke Balls.

Poke Ball: P100

Ultra Ball: P500

Net Ball: P300

Nest Ball: P300

Don’t worry about the fossil guy in this hack. As soon as you step foot on the third floor, Daisy Johnson from S.H.I.E.L.D. stops you. An ancient relic was stolen from Lionel Luthor and a guard was killed during the robbery. You'll then talk to Lionel (who replaces Mr. Stone). The relic in question can control an ancient Pokemon. Both Kate Beckett and Rick Castle will participate in this crazy crossover crime episode too! According to Lanie Parish, the time of death was not that long ago, caused by blunt force trauma. The suspect has fled to Fairview (which replaces Verdanturf Town). Daisy blames HYDRA, and she's gotta find Grant Ward. We will visit New View Tunnel (Rusturf Tunnel) and also deliver a letter to Lionel's son Lex. You'll receive both the Letter and the PokeNav. You can pick up a Luxury Ball nearby. We're done in this city!

You can detour to the north now (Route 12). Meteor Falls is locked, but you can get the berries and the Great Ball below it. On the beach you can find a Super Potion. Head towards the steps in the middle (just west of the Meteor Falls entrance), and two spaces down and one space left is a hidden Heart Scale. Head to the north set of steps and you'll see the whole Friends crew for some reason. The Baltoy nearby is The Geller Cup from Friends, and it looks like they're playing this game! To the right is a contest-like building, but a Wingull blocks the way. Remember it for later, as well as the mudslide to the east too (another Wingull is blocking the way). And you might be tempted to head east of New York City at the moment, but we still need to get the HM for Cut. Where to go? How about back at Stars Hollow?

STARS HOLLOW (revisited) [STH2]

Time to head back to Miss Patty's Dance School. Now we can enter and challenge a makeshift gym! How do I know? The music changes! A trainer and a leader only, Bug type.

Student Clara: Shuckle Lv16, Yanma Lv16, P640

Leader Kirk: P4256 and HM01 Cut

Shuckle Lv18, Pay Day, Cosmic Power, Ancientpower, Silver Wind, holds Hard Stone

Ledian Lv18, Silver Wind, Ancientpower, Drill Peck, Pay Day, holds Silverpowder

Scyther Lv18, Drill Peck, Megahorn, Iron Head, Pay Day, holds Sharp Beak

Pinsir Lv18, Brick Break, Megahorn, Shadow Ball, Pay Day, holds Silverpowder

Heracross Lv18, Brick Break, Ancientpower, Megahorn, Pay Day, holds Black Belt

Butterfree Lv19, Psychic, Silver Wind, Giga Drain, Flamethrower, holds Smoothie

But before we can play with our brand new HM, a town meeting starts. It looks like Taylor will oversee a democratic vote on whether or not to keep this place as a gym. Doesn't look like it will be popular due to the humorous dialogue here! It seems the vote is unanimous and the gym is shut down. Kirk reasons it could be put somewhere else though. Anyways, teach HM01 Cut and let's go do stuff. On Route 4, cut the tree past Lass Haley for an X Accuracy, then we should be good to go to head to Route 5 (east of NYC).

Hiker Mike: Geodude Lv16, Geodude Lv16, Machop Lv16, P640

Try the SW exit first. Help the guy out by finding the Blackglasses (four spaces west of him). A Wingull blocks the path north. Wonder what it's guarding? In any case, head into the other exit to get to Fairview.

FAIRVIEW [FAIR] - The warm community of family secrets behind the facade

Whoa, this place is actually bigger than expected. Anyways two people are blocking the way, Leo Fitz and Jemma Simmons, two more S.H.I.E.L.D. characters. They suspect the Desperate Housewives character Bree Van De Kamp as a suspicious character. And they'll catch up with us later. Time to explore this setting from Desperate Housewives. The contest hall is here if you're ever interested (make sure to get the Contest Pass from the receptionist). Pick up TM45 Attract from the girl in the NE corner.

Alright let's check out the town, four houses in one row below (Wisteria Lane), and four houses at the bottom row. Check the rightmost house on the first row to find Bree. She does spill some beans, in that a man was digging a hole behind Karen McClusky's house, and we should probably find Karen. No one's upstairs, so check the next house over. It has M.J. and Mike Delfino, and Susan Mayer, but nothing else important. No one is in the next house over, but you can apparently watch Evita for whatever reason on TV. Next house over has Karen, who describes the person in-depth. He has a hoodie and Karen asks us to check the hole. In other words, that patch of dirt outside the Contest Hall is our target. Before that, check out the last row. First house on the right has Zach and Paul Young. Next has Katherine Mayfair. Third house has Renee Perry and Tom and Lynette Scavo. Last house has Carlos and Gabrielle Solis. Now check out the dirt patch, there's a bag there. There's only a piece of paper, which only mentions the location Seattle, with a name, Blaine. Let's head east. Wanda's house is here, but Wally's not home and there's just a woman downstairs and a Pikachu upstairs.

Oh great, what's with these Wingull's blocking the way all the time? You can't go to Mauv...I mean Tree Hill. However, the Day Care's open, and also you can definitely enter the area at the NW, which is another section of Route 6. This is just a segment that connects to Seattle and Portland. Seattle is first.

SEATTLE [SEAT] - The city of flowers

The first house has Jessi, Andy Jensen, Josh Trager, Stephen Trager, and Nicole Trager, all from Kyle XY. Upstairs is Lori Trager and Declan McDonough. Ignore the house to the left, no one's inside. There's people in front of the right house though: Amanda Bloom, Kyle Trager, and Carol Bloom. You can't enter this house. Three more buildings to the north. The building on the right is The Rack. Use the Chansey near the bigger building to heal your mons. In The Rack are Kyle and Amanda again. Also Tom Foss is here, along with Josh, who basically runs the place.

Berry Juice: P50

Fresh Water: P50

Soda Pop: P100

Lemonade: P150

Smoothie: P300

There's also a bunch of PCs here for some reason. Enter the building to the left of the bigger one (also get TM11 Sunny Day). A woman named Liv is here.  She knows not where Blaine is but she does say you could check his house. She warns that he is definitely bad news. With that said, you could enter the Seattle P.D. which is the middle building, but no one's inside. What now? How about that SW house I told you to ignore? Inside is a Don E. We just missed Blaine, who got a rare stone and is now in Miami. So much for this.

Just so you know, Liv is Liv Moore and Don E. is Donald Eberhard, both from iZombie. And Liv can be found in Seattle P.D. now. Clive Babineaux is here too, and mentions a Chris Allred (actually a combination of the first name of one and the last name of another of the original iZombie creators). A.k.a. The Fog. Major Lilywhite is also here. If you revisit the NW house, you'll find Peyton Charles and Ravi Chakrabarti. Anyways, we're done here. Let's detour to Portland for a bit.

PORTLAND [PORT] - The city that works

Yet another Wingull blocks the way to the east, but we don't need to worry about that right now I guess. Another Chansey is at the north end if you wanna heal, and there's only two buildings here. Enter the right one to find Ryan Thomas and Cate Cassidy of Life Unexpected. No one's upstairs, so head to Baze's Bar, which is the left building. Baze is of course at the bar, and his dad Jack is talking to Lux Cassidy. Again, no one upstairs, and Baze doesn't even sell anything. Well, so much for all this. Doing the events does get rid of the Wingulls blocking the entrance to Tree Hill though!

TREE HILL [TREE] - The bright and shiny town of fun!

The first thing you'll see is Wally and his uncle. Go ahead and challenge Wally to unlock the gym.

PKMN Trainer Wally: Ralts Lv25, P1500

He and his uncle will return to Fairview. You can visit them in Wanda's house if you like. Ignore the Game Corner below and enter the PokeCenter. Guess what? The woman who asks for Harbor Mail is here. Go ahead and give it to her (otherwise get back to NYC and get it from the scientist at the second floor of Luthor Corp.) to get a Coin Case. You can now check out the Game Corner, which is the same as usual more or less. I won't even list the costs for the coins and such, since they are the exact same as in the normal game.

Rydel's Cycles is replaced with Keith's Auto Shop. Pick up your Mach or Acro Bike here. The Game Corner-like building below it is Tric. Pick up an Ultra Ball below it. Inside Tric you can find Peyton Sawyer Scott and Lucas Scott, but nothing else. PokeMart is the same as usual. The building to the left of the PokeMart is Clothes Over Bros. The Grass Jewel games used to have this on the north side of Route 104, and the layout inside is the same. Millicent Huxtable and Mouth McFadden are here. You can also collect the various contest scarves as well as a Silk Scarf (in the Grass Jewel games, these items would for some reason respawn too). Julian Baker and Brooke Davis are here too, and guess what? You can battle Brooke! Don't worry, she doesn't have Lv100 mons like in the Grass Jewel games. But all of her mons do hold a Leftovers.

Cooltrainer Brooke: P1344

Azurill Lv28, Pay Day, Hydro Pump, Blizzard, Sacred Fire

Wingull Lv28, Pay Day, Hydro Pump, Blizzard, Aeroblast

Roselia Lv28, Pay Day, Sludge Bomb, Leaf Blade, Silver Wind

Mudkip Lv28, Pay Day, Hydro Pump, Earthquake, Blizzard

Chikorita Lv28, Pay Day, Leaf Blade, Psychic, Sludge Bomb

Lapras Lv28, Pay Day, Hydro Pump, Thunder, Blizzard

Interestingly enough, the routes that were Route 111 and 118 are mostly open, although you can't really go too far in the either route before getting blocked. Let's see what's on Route 13 in terms of trainers before we head back.

Aroma Lady Rose: Shroomish Lv23, Roselia Lv23, P920

At the beach, pick up a Heart Scale from the second rock at the south end.

Guitarist Dalton: Magnemite Lv23, Whismur Lv23, Magnemite Lv23, P736

Pick up a PP Max from the rock  at the south end of the beach on the opposite side. With all this said, there's people blocking the way east. They remind you that you gotta deliver Luthor's letter to Lex. Now let's check the route to the north for the fun of it.

ROUTE 9 [RTE9]

The first house has Karen Roe, another One Tree Hill character. Ratatouille is on television. Nothing else. The Winstrate house is now the house of the Scotts from One Tree Hill.

Scott Nathan: Shuckle Lv26, Sudowoodo Lv26, P1560 (both mons have Leftovers)

Scott Haley: Bellossom Lv27 (has Leftovers), P1620

Scott Jaime: Bayleef Lv27, Quilava Lv27, Croconaw Lv27, P1620

Scott Deb: Lapras Lv28, Pay Day, Blizzard, Hydro Pump, Earthquake, P1680

Inside, pick up HM06 Rock Smash! Let's continue up. No need to break rocks on the route.

Reporter Gabby&Ty: Magnemite Lv23, Whismur Lv23, P2208 and an interview.

For fun, go back to Route 13 and battle them again.

Reporter Gabby&Ty: Magnemite Lv25, Loudred Lv25, P2400 and an interview.

Back on Route 9.

Picnicker Irene: Shroomish Lv24, Wooper Lv24, P384

Camper Travis: Sandshrew Lv25, P400

The sign states that Rosewood is to the left.

ROSEWOOD [ROSW]

Yep, another annoying Wingull is blocking a path through the trees to the west. The town consists of 8 houses, 2 in 4 rows, and is the setting of Pretty Little Liars. First house is the SE house, which has Melissa, Spencer, and Veronica Hastings as well as Toby Kavanaugh. The house next door has Mona Vanderwaal. The house above it has Caleb Rivers along with Hanna and Ashley Marin. The house to the right of it has Alison DiLaurentis and Emily Fields. The house above it has Ella Montgomery. Next house over has Aria Montgomery and Ezra Fitz. The last two houses are locked. That's it! Let’s keep going on the north half of Route 9.

Cooltrainer Wilton: Electrike Lv25, Wailmer Lv25, Makuhita Lv25, P1200

Get a free TM43 Secret Power from the kid. Keep going north and get the berries, plus a free one from the girl. A Chansey is there for healing. But there's Wingull blocking the path west. Great. You'll need a Mach Bike, so get it if you haven't already and let's head to the mudslides to the east (you can take the one near the desert for the record, but it's better to go over the one where the Chansey is).

Black Belt Daisuke: Machop Lv25, P800

There's an additional path to the east? I wonder where it leads? An empty space, with a lone rock near the south end. Inspect the bottom part of the rock for a Braille message. It says "THE TOMB OF MILO GIACOMO RAMBALDI." This doesn't seem to do anything. Don't wanna get too sidetracked at the moment. In any case, let's head back to Tree Hill and challenge the gym. It's still Electric type, and Whitey from One Tree Hill is gonna be our leader.

Guitarist Kurt: Voltorb Lv24, Magnemite Lv24, P768

Youngster Ben: Pikachu Lv25, P400

Guitarist Shawn: Dedenne Lv24, Togedemaru Lv24, Pachirisu Lv24, P768

Battle Girl Vivian: Emolga Lv25, P600

Leader Whitey: P6272, Dynamo Badge, TM34 Shock Wave

Electabuzz Lv26, Thunderbolt, Mach Punch, Un-Pay Day, Cross Chop, holds Black Belt

Plusle Lv26, Thunderbolt, Pay Day, Un-Pay Day, Giga Drain, holds Magnet

Minun Lv26, Thunderbolt, Pay Day, Un-Pay Day, Giga Drain, holds Magnet

Ampharos Lv27, Thunderbolt, Giga Drain, Earthquake, Dragon Claw, holds Magnet

Raichu Lv28, Thunder, Extremespeed, Earthquake, Hydro Pump, holds Magnet

Jolteon Lv28, Un-Pay Day, Thunder, Fire Blast, Hydro Pump, holds Magnet

We wanna go south now since Miami is in that direction.

Unfortunately it looks like the Wingulls have the entirety of the Pokemon road of this route blocked off if you see to the left. Also, they seem to have the other half of the Cycling Road entrance blocked off too! But don't fret, there's a ledge which you can use. That being said, it is a one-way trip. In any case, your next stop is Miami!

Slateport City is now Miami. Enter the Contest Hall and get a PokeBlock Case from a girl inside. A sailor inside will give you TM41 Torment. The house to the left of the PokeCenter has Jeannie and Anthony Nelson from I Dream of Jeannie. A guy at the PokeCenter will give you an egg. It will hatch into a Minccino.

For some reason, the Oceanic Museum is where the Pokemon Fan Club would be. Ignore it for now, we'll be progressing the plot by going there. The Miami P.D. is where the Oceanic Museum used to be. Below it is the Pokemon Fan Club. You can pick up a free Soothe Bell if your first mon is friendly. Characters from Dexter inhabit the house below, and you can watch Frozen inside, for whatever reason.

The Miami Market is much like the Slateport Market. You can buy dolls and cushions from the SW clerk (varies between P3000 and P2000). The old man will sell every berry for P50. The Energy Guru sells all vitamins for P2000, and stat-increasing items for P1000. The Effort Ribbon girl is next to him. A clerk sells various bricks, mats, and balloons to the north, all for P500. For a small detour, let's visit the beach on Route 8.

Tuber Lola: Wooper Lv24, Wooper Lv24, P96

Tuber Ricky: Zigzagoon Lv25, P100

Sailor Edmond: Wingull Lv23, Machop Lv23, Sealeo Lv23, P736

Sailor Huey: Machop Lv25, P800

Head directly south, and at the SE end of the beach between two mats you can find a hidden Ether. The SW corner has a Revive, and if you head slightly NW, underneath a green umbrella, you can find another Heart Scale. Finally, the mat at the west side has a Great Ball. Enter the Seashore House when you're ready.

Tuber Simon: Wooper Lv25, Marill Lv25, P100

Beauty Johanna: Staryu Lv26, P2080

Sailor Dwayne: Wingull Lv24, Machop Lv24, Wooper Lv24, P768

And claim your Soda Pop. Now let's enter the Oceanic Museum. Nothing important on the first floor, but on the second floor you'll find the guy you're looking for: Blaine. He's wondering if you may be affiliated with HYDRA, but speak of the devil, the agents do come to attack! They're looking for the Wish Stone. Back-to-back battles coming.

HYDRA Agent: Houndour Lv25, P500

HYDRA Agent: Haunter Lv25, Wobbuffet Lv25, P500

Afterwards Coulson shows up, glad that we found Blaine. He'll interrogate the HYDRA agents. He'll also say that Blaine must be some sort of zombie (!?) with some sort of stone that grants wishes, which is, well, the Wish Stone that the agents are searching for. He asks that we keep the guy here. Okay? All of a sudden, you will get the chance to catch a wild Jirachi (Lv25)! Following the encounter, Blaine will be surprised as that's what the Wish Stone does. He'll run off now (but not before some weird garbage dialogue occurs, don't know what happened there). Our activities in this area have concluded.

ROUTE 7 (revisited) [RT7R]

It's quite interesting. We head to Miami by way of one-way Cycling Road, and now we have to go one-way to head back to Tree Hill.

Pokefan Isabel: Plusle Lv24 (holds Sitrus Berry), Minun Lv24 (holds Oran Berry), P1920

Trick House to the north, Route 2 to the west, and the rest of Route 7 to the east. Let's head west to deal with some trainers first. Pick up a Guard Spec. too.

Aroma Lady Daisy: Roselia Lv25, P1000

Twins Amy&Liv: Plusle Lv24, Minun Lv24, P576

Pokefan Miguel: Skitty Lv25, P2000

Fisherman Andrew: Magikarp Lv23, Shellder Lv23, Feebas Lv23, P920

That Wingull is still blocking the path. On to the Trick House now! Find him under the table. Get your mon with Cut. Don't forget the Orange Mail! A Rare Candy is your prize.

Lass Sally: Oddish Lv24, P384

Lass Robin: Skitty Lv24, Shroomish Lv24, Wooper Lv24, P384

Youngster Eddie: Zigzagoon Lv24, Sentret Lv24, P384

So now we should get going on the rest of the route.

Youngster Timmy: Poochyena Lv24, Electrike Lv24, Farfetch'd Lv24, P384

A hidden Full Heal is north of the sign. Head north to find Brendan/May.

PKMN Trainer Brendan/May: P1500 and the Itemfinder

(if you chose Riolu): Wailmer Lv24, Grovyle Lv24, Arcanine Lv25

(if you chose Growlithe): Breloom Lv24, Combusken Lv24, Lycanroc (midnight form) Lv25

(if you chose Rockruff): Torkoal Lv24, Marshtomp Lv24, Lucario Lv25

Following that encounter, head north to find a Chansey. This is a fancy healing spot, and you can also find a hidden Great Ball a bit south of the Chansey. A hidden Revive is in an empty space east of Edwin.

Collector Edwin: Lombre Lv24, Nuzleaf Lv24, P1440

Psychic Edward: Kadabra Lv25, P600

The last hidden item to the north of Edward is a Poke Ball. The encounter with Brendan/May removes the Wingulls on Route 2 as well as the south entrance of Cycling Road. Also, the second Trick House challenge should also be available too. Find him in the right plant. Pick up a Wave Mail and a Harbor Mail while here. A Timer Ball is your reward.

Student Ted: Ralts Lv27, P1080

Student Paul: Torkoal Lv27, Bellossom Lv27, Pelipper Lv27, P1080

Student Georgia: Breloom Lv27, Beautifly Lv27, P1080

What to do now? Well, let's return to New View Tunnel! Bring your mon with Rock Smash and re-unite the couple (but seriously, why can't they just take the path around?). The guy will give you HM04 Strength as usual. Note however there is a new cave exit where the rocks are. We'll have to go here. Guess what? It's Lex Luthor! He basically fulfill's Steven's original role, so he'll get your Letter and you will get TM47 Steel Wing in return. This will unlock the way past Route 13! Since you delivered the letter, you can go back to Lionel at Luthor Corp. to get a free Exp. Share (sidenote, I completely forgot to get the Exp. Share in my Grass Jewel walkthroughs, oops. Although you can buy these things anyways so it probably matters not). You can get a White Herb from a girl outside the flower shop on Route 4 too.

Bird Keeper Perry: Pelipper Lv30, P960

Bird Keeper Chester: Swellow Lv30, Fearow Lv30, P960

Princeton-Plainsboro Hospital is here, kinda like in the Grass Jewel games. Chris Taub, Allison Cameron, and Robert Chase are at the SE table, with Eric Foreman above them. The Nurse Joy here will of course be a nice little heal stop. Remy "Thirteen" Hadley is nearby. The NE room has Amber Volakis, James Wilson, Lisa Cuddy, and of course, Gregory House. Now let's detour a bit to Route 18. We won't be able to get really far with the pond in the way, but we can explore the Berry Master's house.

Aroma Lady Violet: Breloom Lv30, Victreebel Lv30, Ludicolo Lv30, P1200

Just pick your berries, visit the Berry Master, and head back. Nothing else that can actually be done. Note that a Wingull is blocking the way to an area to the north. We'll be back here eventually. Let's head north from Route 13 to Route 14.

A Super Repel is at the NW end of the tall grass, and a hidden Full Heal is north of Taylor. A Hyper Potion is at the NE corner of this area too. The house out of this area has the Bewitched cast: Endora, Samantha and Darrin Stephens, and Uncle Arthur.

Ninja Boy Takashi: Ariados Lv32, Ninjask Lv32, Shedinja Lv32, P384

If you have an Acro Bike, cross the bridges, then head north through the trees. Inspect the flower for a hidden Calcium, then head back.

Bird Keeper Phil: Taillow Lv32, Wingull Lv32, Swellow Lv33, P1056

Head NE and to the east to get an Elixir. The two people you meet next are from Get Smart: the title character Maxwell Smart and Agent 99.

Bird Keeper Hugh: Swellow Lv33, P1056

We have to enter the Weather Institute, as Leo and Phoebe are worried about a Zankou inside. As usual, use the bed and PC before heading upstairs. There's no grunts to battle, just the demon Zankou. Except he's really difficult! After having seen the video walkthroughs, which only show him at two mons at the Lv30 range, I can only conclude that his six mon team of Lv50+ is some sort of mistake, but I can't really be certain. In any case, you do need to beat this guy to progress the game, and he's a Ghost type trainer.

Demon Zankou: P3480

Demonic, indeed. With that said, he takes his leave and you talk to Piper who welcomes you to SanFran later on. The scientist gives you Castform, but only if you have an empty slot (thankfully there's a PC here).

Following this, you can continue east. Head up and Brendan/May will of course battle you.

MYSTIC FALLS [MYFA] - "Where the present is run by the bloody past"

The setting of Vampire Diaries! The Hidden Power granny is in the PokeCenter now. Outside you'll find Rebekah, Elijah, and Klaus Mikaelson, Hayley Marshall, and Marcel Gerard. Enter the Mystic Grill to find Jeremy Gilbert, Matt Donovan, Tyler Lockwood, Alaric Saltzman, as well as a random girl who will trade you a Shuckle if you have a Pikachu. Might wanna remember her for later. Two houses to the north. One has Bonnie Bennett talking to Enzo St. John. If you enter the right house, you can't really move unless you press A, but then you automatically get involved in the cutscene. Stefan Salvatore is telling Elena Gilbert to calm herself. Caroline Forbes-Salvatore had been kidnapped, and people here, including Lex Luthor (who figures that our suspect has stolen property from his dad) will give hope that we will find the perp. Daisy Johnson reasons that it could be Blaine, possibly working with Ward. She'll leave for L.A. while Lex goes to Eastwick, seeing if Daryl Van Horne has info. Damon Salvatore along with Enzo from before will go on a little trip, while Elena sits back with Stefan. We can go north.

It's another section of Route 14, apparently. Follow the winding path until it opens up. There's more trees to go through to the north, and a path to Boston to the west. Let's go that way first.

BOSTON [BOST] - "An educational and historical hub to get you more bang for your buck"

The setting of Ally McBeal. First things first, Cage & Fish. The first floor has nothing of importance. Plenty of stuff on the second floor though! The unisex bathroom to the east is closed for some reason, and here you'll find Elaine Vassal, Ling Woo, Georgia Thomas, Ally McBeal, and Larry Paul. Billy Allen Thomas has an office which is second from the right. John Cage's office is second from the left, and Richard Fish's office is the leftmost office.

There's five other houses here. Enter the nearest one to find Renee Raddick. The one above it has Morgan Cavanaugh, Roxie King, and Miles Goodman from Sabrina the Teenage Witch. The house to the left of it has Zelda and Aunt Vesta Spellman. The house over is Hilda's Coffee House, obviously referring to Hilda Spellman. Josh Blackhart is outside, and the sign nearby mentions that this area is technically Westbridge, even though for whatever reason this is part of Boston. Inside the coffee shop is Sabrina herself, along with Harvey Kinkle. Valerie Birkhead and Hilda herself are here too. You can order Coffee and Scone here, just like in the other sitcom shops (same prices as before). Finally enter the SW building, which is The Slicery. Jenny Kelley and Libby Chessler are here, but that's actually about it. Nothing else of importance.

You can head behind Cage & Fish to the back part of Route 14 again. Go through the zigzag path. When you get to a fork, head east (south leads back to the big area where you could go west to Boston) to Eastwick!

EASTWICK [ETWK] - "Where mystery slumbers in the stories of history"

Three buildings here and the setting is of course for the sitcom Eastwick. Bun Waverly inhabits the first home. The middle house has Penny Higgins, Joanna Frankel, Roxie Torcoletti, Darryl Van Horne, and Kat Gardener. No one's on the second floor or the third floor with all the books. The third house has Mia Torcoletti, Josh Burton, and Chad Burton. Nothing of importance here. Go east to Route 120. Oops, I mean Route 15!

Parasol Lady Clarissa: Seadra Lv36, Wailmer Lv36, P1440

Reporter Gabby&Ty: Magneton Lv36, Loudred Lv36, P3456 and an interview.

The reporters will go back to Route 9 where they'll loop. Enter the northern passage and at the dead end is a hidden Rare Candy. Enter the grass patch near the reporters and head three spaces east of the large grass clump, then a space south is a hidden Revive. Since we don't have our Devon Scope we can't get that other item, and Wingulls are blocking the bridge. That said, we can head east to Los Angeles.

LOS ANGELES [LOAN] - City of Angels

Yikes, a gym, PokeCenter, and a PokeMart! What a big town! We'll get to the gym in a moment. The building east of it has Edwin and Ana Jarvis, Daniel Sousa, and Peggy Carter, all from Agent Carter. Three houses are east of this one. The first has the Chuck cast: Alex McHugh, Sarah Walker, John Casey, Chuck Bartowski, and Morgan Grimes. Ellie and Captain Awesome are in the next home. Behind the third house is Eddie from America's Sweethearts getting an interview. The rest of the cast is inside: Kiki and Gwen Harrison, and Lee Phillips.

Enter the house south of the PokeMart to find the cast from Veronica Mars: the title character, Keith Mars, and Logan Echolls. Head south to the beach area for four houses. First at the SW is the Offshore restaurant, from 90210. Erin Silver, Dixon Wilson, Navid Shirazi, Adrianna Tate-Duncan, Annie Wilson, and Liam Court are inside. Next house over has The O.C. cast: Kirsten and Sandy Cohen, Ryan Atwood, Seth Cohen, Taylor Townsend, and Summer Roberts. The cast of Two and a Half Men are in the house above this one, with Berta, Herb Melnick, and the Harpers: Alan, Charlie, and Jake. Next house over has...no one.

Three big buildings to the north of the beach. The first is Caritas, the karaoke bar. This is from Buffy. The people here are singing a popular Queen song, and the demon Lorne is here too. The Hyperion Hotel is the largest building here, also from the Buffyverse. Something unseeable is in the way, sadly. The tall building to the east also has something blocking it! East is Woodsboro, but let's go challenge a gym now.

I will say this, I forgot to talk to Coulson who's standing outside the gym near a less-than-convenient Chansey. We'll be collaborating with the NSA and CIA, and according to General Beckman, we will work with Sarah Walker, John Casey, and a secret asset. We gotta find these assets now as well. So I went to the gym to challenge the Fighting types. Same layout as Brawly's original gym.

Battle Girl Laura: Medicham Lv36, P912

Black Belt Hideki: Machoke Lv38, P1216

Battle Girl Tessa: Meditite Lv37, Machop Lv37, Makuhita Lv37, P888

Doyle by the way is from the Buffy series.

Leader Doyle: P8960, Knuckle Badge, TM08 Bulk Up

Hitmonlee Lv38: Shadow Punch, Mach Punch, Drain Punch, Rock Slide, holds Black Belt

Hitmonchan Lv38: Shadow Punch, Mach Punch, Drain Punch, Rock Slide, holds Black Belt

Hitmontop Lv38: Extremespeed, Shadow Punch, Drain Punch, Rock Slide, holds Black Belt

Breloom Lv39, Giga Drain, Cross Chop, Mach Punch, Rock Slide, holds Miracle Seed

Primeape Lv39, Cross Chop, Mach Punch, Drain Punch, Rock Slide, holds Black Belt

Lucario Lv40, Meteor Mash, Cross Chop, Drain Punch, Rock Slide, holds Metal Coat

You do remember that John and Sarah are from Chuck, right? Well, you might be tempted to go back to that house to get them, but actually they are just SW of the PokeCenter. We have to deal with APO it seems, a black ops division of the CIA. They then leave.

Doing these activities opens up the tall building east of Hyperion Hotel (the hotel is still blocked). First floor has Helen and Stanley Roper from Three's Company. Second floor has more characters: Ralph Furley, Jack Tripper, Chrissy Snow, Larry Dallas, and Janet Wood. Third floor has Alice Vaughan and Benjamin Jones from The Catch. The Timeless cast is on the fourth floor: Lucy Preston, Wyatt Logan, and Rufus Carlin. The Scorpion cast is on the fifth floor: Ralph Dineen, Walter O'Brien, Paige Dineen, Toby Curtis, Happy Quinn, Sylvester Dodd, and Cabe Gallo. The Big Bang Theory is on the sixth floor, with Penny, Sheldon, and Leonard. Mac and Wallace from Veronica Mars are on the seventh floor, while Naomi and Max from 90210 are on the eighth. The ninth floor has Ralph Hinkley, Bill Maxwell, and Pam Davidson from The Greatest American Hero.

On the tenth floor, you can't move until you press A. APO stands for Authorized Personnel only, who would have thought? Sydney Bristow from Alias here didn't. She and Jack Bristow are talking with Michael Vaughn. It seems that an Arvin Sloane had disappeared at the time of the Luthor Corp break-in, plus the Mystic Falls kidnapping. Is he working with HYDRA? And why does he have an obsession with Rambaldi? This really is turning into a crazy crossover. Anyways we're done with L.A. Or so you think! Leave the building and you'll be ambushed!

Gentleman Arvin: Xatu Lv38, Zoroark Lv39, P3120

It's Arvin Sloane from Alias. Talk to him and he'll profess innocence (you can't move anywhere). Marshall Finkman then confirms he's innocent, and Veronica Mars nearby is wondering what's going on. She then directs us to Hyperion Hotel. Okay! For some reason, even though these people all leave, the unseeable things to the left and right are still there. But the Hyperion Hotel is now accessible.

Enter and press A. You'll automatically go up to Angel and Cordelia Chase (for those who played the Grass Jewel hacks, you may remember these two as elite trainers, but they have a role in the plot right now). Cordelia crafts a vision; she has seen three sisters with the name Halliwell, and they watch darkness around them. It seems it's happening in SanFran, and may even spread throughout Hoenn. Angel says that you should track a friend, named Willow, who lives in Sunnydale. They then leave. No, you cannot catch Latias or Latios here, but there's a PC for some reason. Wesley Wyndam-Pryce and Fred Burkes are staying back. We now have two options. We can head back to the previous route and cross the bridge blocked by Wingulls, or visit Woodsboro. I like to explore new towns you know.

WOODSBORO [WBOR] - Home of the Woodsboro Murders

Another town with a PokeCenter, PokeMart, and even a gym! Except, they're all locked. The gym leader has apparently been murdered and the gym closed off for good. The gym leader was Cotton, most likely this is the setting of the movie Scream. In fact, only two houses can be entered, the lower left one and the one in the middle of the top row. In the SW house is Gale Weathers and Dewey Riley. In the north house, you won't find anything of importance. So much for that side trip!

ROUTE 15 (revisited) [R15R]

Cross the bridge to find our good pal Lex. He'll show the power of the Devon, no, the Luthor Scope! Of course you reveal a Kecleon (Lv40). After the encounter, he gives you the Luthor Scope, functioning like its Devon counterpart in another ROM hack for another time. You can use it north of the bridge to get the Nest Ball. In any case, continue south.

Enter the first house and one of the fishermen there will give the Super Rod! Also you can watch The Avengers on TV. Cove Lily Motel is now Sunshine Suites. Contest Hall is the same as usual. West of the Contest Hall is the Tanner house, from, you know, Full House. Inside you'll see Danny and DJ Tanner, Jesse and Becky Katsopolis, Joey Gladstone, Vicky Larson, Steve Hale, Kimmy Gibbler, and Duane. Upstairs is Stephanie and Michelle Tanner, and no one's on the third floor.

You'll find Brendan/May at the department store entrance, ready for a battle.

First floor has the lottery as usual.

Second floor will have the same wares you see at a PokeMart (for both clerks) so I won't go into detail there.

Things will be different when you head up. The clerk on the right on 3F sells every evolution stone at P1000 and the Everstone at P500. The clerk on the left:

Amulet Coin and Lucky Egg: P2500

Silk Scarf, Mystic Water, Charcoal, Miracle Seed, Magnet, Nevermeltice, Twistedspoon, Sharp Beak, Black Belt, Poison Barb, Silverpowder, Soft Sand, Hard Stone, Spell Tag, Blackglasses, Metal Coat, Dragon Fang: P1000

Light Ball and Soul Dew: P2500

Stick, Thick Club, Lucky Punch, Dragon Scale, Deepseascale, Deepseatooth, Up-Grade, Red Scarf, Blue Scarf, Pink Scarf, Green Scarf, Yellow Scarf, P1000

4th floor has the right clerk selling the vitamins at P2000 and the stat-enhancers at P1000. The left clerk sells TMs for P1000 each, however specific TMs are not sold, those being TM01, TM02, TM09, TM10, TM14, TM15, TM19, TM25, TM26, TM29, TM30, TM31, TM36, TM38, TM43, TM49, and TM50.

5th floor is your secret base shop, which I don't really care for. If you're looking for desks and chairs, there's an additional booth to the SW.

Rooftop has the vending machines.

Enter the Art Museum and speak to the receptionist to get a Glass Ornament for being the 1000th visitor. Sadly the Halliwell Manor is blocked off. You can get a free berry from a gentleman to the left, and a Max Repel in front of the contest-like building. What even is this? One of these was on Route 12 by the way, but I wonder what this is? As it turns out, this is a cable car! Yep, this can be used to go between SanFran and Route 12! And there's a gym here too, with dual gym leaders Andy and Prue! They're from Charmed. Before we deal with this new gym, go to the beach and examine the rock at the westernmost end for a hidden Heart Scale. Head due east to find a Poke Ball at the rock by the coast. Head north and yep, more Wingulls. But a rock here has a PP Up. There's a Rare Candy in front of the gym. We'll be dealing with Psychic types, but the layout is Lavaridge's gym.

Norman then tells you to seek out a police chief in Santa Barbara who may help us with our quest. Well, we don’t know where that is, and still don't have Surf, even though we have the badge. That said though, enter Wally's house and talk to his dad to get...another TM29 Psychic. No HM03 Surf though. Wonder why? Oh yeah, feel free to pick up the Amulet Coin from your mom back home since you beat dad's gym. Also new Trick House challenge available! Bring your mon with Strength too. Find the guy in the left window. Pick up a Mech Mail. The reward is a Smoke Ball.

Black Belt Yuji: Hariyama Lv49, Machamp Lv49 (for some reason, I was unable to battle this particular trainer)

Battle Girl Kendra: Medicham Lv49, P1176

Battle Girl Jill: Breloom Lv49, P1176

In Tree Hill, Clark Kent is situated in the middle of the city and will give you a Basement Key for Luthor Corp 33.1. In case you're wondering, this is what New Mauville is in this hack. We don't have Surf yet, so ignore Clark for now and let's figure out which place the Wingulls are no longer blocking. It just so happens to be...Route 16! You can head south on the road there.

SANTA BARBARA [SABA] - "The murder capital of the world"

Use the Chansey as needed, and go past the P.D. since that's blocked. The house nearby has Henry Spencer from Psych. The actual Psych Detective Agency is at the beach. Gus and Shawn are inside (hey, I remember when Shawn was a gym leader in Grass Jewel 2). Nothing of real importance though. You can watch History of the World I on TV too. However, the P.D. is now open! Enter and press A to automatically go to the briefing. Karen Vick determines that a victim: Tim Smith, was shot near his lighthouse. Gus and Shawn show up, happy to be of help. Lassie reasons we should visit a crime scene to figure this all out, then they leave. Well, there was a lighthouse in this town.

Again, when you leave, you must press A and you will automatically follow the detectives, this time to the beach. Looks like our victim had been dedicated to taking care of his lighthouse. Shawn envisions something, seems to be the work of...a Pocket Monster! Lassie thinks it could be a Pokemon not from around here (curious, since Santa Barbara doesn't have encounters). Shawn figures out who the killer must be, so we gotta meet him at the lighthouse. We all follow him just a short walk away. Next thing you know he singles out a "Gerald". And it seems that there's a Pokemon so rare inside the lighthouse too! Shawn even found the guy's gun, or maybe he's just playing. In any case, Shawn's big mouth startles the rare Pokemon. And guess what, we have to deal with this rare mon. Obligatory legendary encounter with a Lv50 Victini!

Let's be honest, you really weren't expecting that, weren't you? Go back to the P.D. and talk to Chief Vick in the corner. She was the acquaintance of Norman, and we FINALLY get HM03 Surf! There's just LOTS to do now that we can Surf anywhere now. Let's start by surfing south to...

SOUTHERN ISLAND [SOIS]

No mons. Land on the island and enter to get your chance to catch Latias Lv50! Quite simple. Given that this is a Ruby hack, it's Latios that will be the roaming encounter later on. Now head west of Santa Barbara to find the other half of Route 18, which I will actually cover in full.

SURF BACKTRACKING [SURF]

First off, the item in the NW part of the Safari Zone is TM22 Solarbeam. A Max Revive is in the SW corner of the SW part beyond the pool.

On Route 14, you can surf north of the Mimic Circle.

Fisherman Eugene: Magikarp Lv28, Shellder Lv28, Feebas Lv28, Carvanha Lv28, P1120

The item back there is a Zinc. At the north end of the river, go up to the waterfall and land at the east island. Press A for a Max Ether. Surf SE now, then land when you get to a grass patch with an opening. A bit south of the opening is a hidden Ultra Ball. Head to the south end of the river to find a Leaf Stone.

Cross the SW pond on Route 15 to get a Full Heal and a hidden Rare Candy.

On Route 4, surf east of the bridge for a PP Up.

In River City, surf across the pond on the west side for an Ether, then to the small area to the right for a hidden Rare Candy, and then surf across the pond at the NE side for a Max Revive.

In Route 7, take the Pokemon route near the Trick House until you can surf north. You will find a Rare Candy. At this point you can also head back to Tree Hill and talk to Clark, who'll give you the Basement Key to get to Luthor Corp 33.1 on Route 7.

It doesn't look like you really need to use the Basement Key, as it is already open. Use the blue switch, then the green switch to the left. Move on, ignore blue switch, head east, pick up Ultra Ball, backtrack, pick up Escape Rope on switch. Ignore the green switch to the east, it has a Voltorb on it too. At the next set of switches, ignore them both (a Parlyz Heal is on the green switch, and a Voltorb on the blue switch) and continue up. At the next set of switches, a Voltorb is on the left switch and a Full Heal is on the right switch, which you want to step on. Pick up the Thunderstone and use the generator switch. Yep, use, you can't step on it. This in fact gives us a legendary encounter: Zeraora Lv50! That finishes this sidequest as well! Return to Clark to get TM24 Thunderbolt.

With a number of surfing options available, let's try to go to the SW part of this alternate universe Hoenn. Go on Route 4 and head south on what is Route 21.

Swimmer Nicole: Kingler Lv53, P424

Swimmer Douglas: Octillery Lv53, Cloyster Lv53, P424

Anyways, Hawaii only has three other buildings here, one is the PokeCenter. You'll get a free Wailmer Doll by talking to the lady in the PokeCenter, while the trend guy is here too.

Enter the house to the left of the PokeCenter, and surprise! Three free mons on the table! That being said, these are the Alola starters, and if you read the note, you'll realize that they are unable to evolve in this region. Take them if you want, though you'll need to free space in your inventory. Enter the big house, and it seems like the cast from Friends is having fun here. Nothing of importance though. You can't get the Lapras in the pond, sorry. When you're ready, let's explore to the right of Hawaii now!

Who would have thought that Route 124 would turn out to be a tree maze instead of a strictly water route? You can actually forgo the maze for now. It will lead to Sunnydale, our next town, eventually. But let's head north and around it. This is the Treasure Hunter's House. So if you ever get any shards from diving, you now know where to go, although you can always buy them at the department store too.

There are no trainers inside the maze. Enter and turn down at the fork. Keep heading south, any paths to the left are actually dead ends. Keep heading north at the next two forks, as east will lead around and will dead end eventually. After the first loop in the center of the maze, you'll come to a north/east fork. Head east here and spiral all the way to the end to find a Yellow Shard. Return to the north/east fork and head north. At the north/west fork, head north, then east, then all the way south to get a Red Shard. Back at the north/west fork, head west and follow the path, continuing east past the next fork, and south past the next one. Keep heading south until you find a path going east and south to find the final item, a Blue Shard, and the entrance to Sunnydale. While you're probably itching to head to Sunnydale right now, I'll go ahead and cover the rest of the route, below the maze, where all the water and trainers are. Feel free to use it to heal at any point though while messing around with water routes. Or just skip all of this info for now whenever you’re ready to deal with Sunnydale!

Bird Keeper Beck: Pidgeot Lv34, Fearow Lv34, P1088.

You know with these level disparities it seems that the author forgot to scale a few select trainers. If you stay to the south as you continue west, you could enter the maze area where you can fight this trainer.

Dragon Tamer Aaron: Salamence Lv54, P4320

Lastly, return to Island and keep to the south as much as possible.

Swimmer Debra: Kingdra Lv53, Cloyster Lv53, P424

Swimmer Linda: Seadra Lv53, Kingdra Lv53, P424

That's the last trainer. Move west and go to where the Sealed Chamber entrance would be. Surprise, surprise, it's an island with an item! It's a Nugget. Now, shall we go to Sunnydale? Almost, we can land at Sunnydale, but also go behind the Wingulls that are blocking the way north via the thin water passage to reach Route 20 (which is Route 125).

The Shell Bell man is here as always. If it's low tide, head to the second chamber and you can naturally just enter the next chamber via the ladder. To get to the lowest chamber you will of course need Strength. Although you might as well explore to the north. Take the ladder and pick up an Ice Heal here. The black belt will give you a Focus Band as usual.

At the lowest chamber, you can pick up a Nevermeltice and also use the Chansey to heal. TM07 Hail is here too. You'll see a dude here, but he won't let you pass at all. We might need to wait until much later in the game to unlock this chamber.

If it’s high tide, you of course can only enter the first two chambers to pick up a Rare Candy and a Big Pearl; that’s about it. Okay, now we can actually go to Sunnydale.

To the left of the PokeCenter are Xander Harris, Dawn Summers, and Anya Jenkins from Buffy. The house to the north has Dreg, Jinx, Murk, and Glorificus. The house to the right is blocked by an Eevee, and the gym is here, with Spike as the leader, a known villain from the Buffy series and a Poison type specialist. The house south of the PokeMart has Jenny Calendar, Rupert Giles, and Buffy Summers herself. If you head to the east side, some trees block the way to what is apparently a diving spot and a cave entrance. Also there's a Wingull blocking an item! Why?! Well, Sunnydale High School is here. Principal Robin Wood is here. But nothing else. The gym at least is open, so let's go ahead and challenge it.

Psychic Preston: Alakazam Lv52, P1248

Psychic Maura: Girafarig Lv52, Arbok Lv52, P1248

Psychic Diane: Gengar Lv53, P1272

Psychic Fritz: Girafarig Lv52, Nidoking Lv52, Nidoqueen Lv52, P1248

Psychic Virgil: Gligar Lv53, Mantine Lv53, P1272

Psychic Hannah: Kirlia Lv53, Seviper Lv53, P1272

There's a woman in the NE corner of the gym, but as far as I can tell, it's impossible to get to her. Let's challenge Spike.

Leader Spike: P12544, Sludge Badge, TM36 Sludge Bomb

Seviper Lv54, Un-Pay Day, Psychic, Sludge Bomb, Earthquake, holds Poison Barb

Swalot Lv54, Sludge Bomb, Un-Pay Day, Psychic, Earthquake, holds Leftovers

Nidoking Lv55, Meteor Mash, Sludge Bomb, Earthquake, Rock Slide, holds Metal Coat

Nidoqueen Lv54, Meteor Mash, Sludge Bomb, Earthquake, Rock Slide, holds Metal Coat

Gengar Lv54, Psychic, Un-Pay Day, Sludge Bomb, Fire Blast, holds Blackglasses

Crobat Lv56, Pay Day, Sludge Bomb, Aeroblast, Silver Wind, holds Smoothie

Well that was fun! Too bad this is still not the sixth badge, but the seventh, which allows Dive. Where is the HM, I wonder? Well, the house with the Eevee no longer has the Eevee. A girl named Willow is inside. Remember back in L.A. where Angel tells you to find her? Well, here we are. She goes to Angel Investigations straight away. So much for that.

There's nothing else to do in Sunnydale, so let's head back. As far as San Francisco though (by the way, the guy to the left of the art museum now runs a shuttle between San Francisco and Los Angeles now). It's the Halliwell manor we need to enter. There's no one on this floor, but we can go either downstairs or upstairs. Go downstairs, as upstairs is empty (although the third floor has the Book of Shadows). Press A there. Yeah, we'll be forgoing an item, and two guys talking, to walk to a large gang.

Coulson walks in, having done a mess beforehand. Lex will then state that it's time to use the power of the Nexus! People are questioning this. It's probably not good! Lex also wants to sacrifice a vampire which he somehow acquired. Let's battle Lex Luthor! He's a Steel type specialist.

Lex Luthor: P10440

Lucario Lv57, Cross Chop, Meteor Mash, Rock Slide, Sacred Fire, holds Space Fries

Skarmory Lv57, Meteor Mash, Rock Slide, Aeroblast, Cross Chop, holds Metal Coat

Scizor Lv57, Megahorn, Meteor Mash, Rock Slide, Aeroblast, holds Silverpowder

Magnezone Lv57, Thunder, Meteor Mash, Fire Blast, Hydro Pump, holds Magnet

Porygon-Z Lv57, Pay Day, Blizzard, Thunder, Fire Blast, holds Space Fries

Metagross Lv58, Pay Day, Psychic, Rock Slide, Meteor Mash, holds Metal Coat

I mean who else guessed that Lex would be a villain? And of course, even with our win he'll still try. The room starts to glow, and it seems he may have unleashed the power of the Nexus. Grant Ward even reasons HYDRA wouldn't pull this kinda thing off. In come the Halliwell sisters. They chant and it seems that the Nexus won't be an issue now! Piper then states she'll handle things with the sisters from here. Lex believes we are still too late. Willow then says we should hurry back to Sunnydale. The item here is actually HM05 Flash. Will we need it here?

In any case, the cast of Charmed is inhabiting the manor, with Piper Halliwell, Leo Wyatt, Phoebe Halliwell (interestingly has Elite Four Phoebe's sprite), Cole Turner, and Paige Matthews inside. Exit the manor and you'll notice the weather change, kinda like in the original Ruby. We do need to return to Sunnydale in any case though.

Back there, head back to the high school. No, we're not going inside. However, we are going to get that item to the east that the Wingull guarded. What do you know, it's HM08 Dive! Who would have guessed? Teach it to a mon. Well, we're probably tempted to backtrack with Dive, so what say you? Backtrack to Route 19, and head south to Route 24. If you see a single diving spot, you went too far to the west, which actually doesn't lead anywhere. In any case, feel free to dive for treasures.

Mons found:

Relicanth: 61%

Chinchou: 30%

Clamperl: 9%

You can find an Ultra Ball, a Stardust, a Big Pearl, and a Heart Scale in the main circle, a Blue Shard in the SW diving spot, and past the NW diving spot, a trainer as well as a Yellow Shard, a Pearl, and an Iron in the diving spot there.

Swimmer Nikki: Azumarill Lv56, Wailord Lv56, Walrein Lv56, P448

Let's visit the diving area in the Abandoned Ship. Guess what? There's two holes here, and the one to the left has Lugia Lv60! The other, of course, has the hidden cabins. Enter Rm. 3, pick up the Rm. 1 Key in the NE corner and a Water Stone. Enter Rm. 1, pick up the Rm. 4 Key which is near the hole, as well as TM18 Rain Dance. The trash can in Rm. 4 has the Rm. 6 Key. The Rm 2. Key is in the middle of Rm. 5, connected to Rm. 6, which has a Luxury Ball. And all that for the item in Rm. 2, a Nugget. Were you expecting a Scanner? Well, it's another way to fill your wallet.

Return to Sunnydale. There's one other diving spot we can go to, and that's just north of town, which you can easily see. Hop in. It's a straight path but it forks south. Keep going though, all the way east and south to find a house. The woman here gives you a free King's Rock. In fact, this is actually Molly Weasley! And this house will actually take us to Hogwarts! However a guard magically appears here, as we do have to deal with a monster in Sunnydale Hellmouth. Good grief. Luckily we don't need to go far, as the other path at that fork has just what we need, taking us behind the trees of Sunnydale to a cave entrance. Use Chansey to heal and pick up the Red Orb. We're set to enter Hellmouth!

HELLMOUTH [HELM]

Mons found (all floors):

Zubat: 90%

Golbat: 10%

Simply follow the path, considering that this is just the Cave of Origin. You may need Flash, or maybe you don't, as the path is pretty much unchanged from the original game and you can just view a map of the original. Of course, it's Groudon at the end. It is a hack for Ruby after all. Using the Red Orb, you now have the chance to catch Groudon Lv60. Leave and the sunlight will now be gone! Now we should try to go to Hogwarts! No guard in the way this time.

HOGWARTS [HOGW] - "The most prestigious school of witchcraft and wizardry"

Well, if you don't know your Harry Potter stuff, this is the prime setting of the majority of the movies. I remember there being nothing of note in this location in Grass Jewel 2, but it has more relevance here. PokeCenter, PokeMart, and even a Gym! Though, of course, the gym is closed due to there being yet another monster at Hogwarts Castle itself. And it seems we have to follow the spiders (a reference to the Chamber of Secrets). It does seem that Prof. McGonagall is the leader of this gym though. Another guard is to the south, which apparently is supposed to resemble the Quidditch field, and the guard is actually Rolanda Hooch. Oh yeah, and the castle itself? Yet another guard. Well, you can enter the SE house, which is Rubeus Hagrid's hut. Time to "follow the spiders" and enter the area south of there, which supposedly resembles the Forbidden Forest.

Mons found:

Spinarak: 90%

Surskit: 9%

Ariados: 1%

Pick up TM26 Earthquake on the path. Well, the Pokemon here sure are spiders (or in Surskit's case, spider-like), so that checks out! I wonder if Ariados is supposed to represent Aragog in some form. In any case, we've got a dark maze on our hands. Follow the path until it forks west or east. Head east, as west is a dead end. You'll find a north/south fork soon enough. South is the way to go, as north eventually dead ends. At the next fork you come to, turn to the left. At the east/south fork, continue east. Continue east again at the next fork, and east again. You'll eventually make it to the end. Note however, when you inspect the bag you find at the end, you'll get into an encounter with a shiny Ariados Lv60! It apparently is Aragog. And yeah, the monster was born in the castle itself, which we might as well go to. An Escape Rope comes in handy here.

And we can enter the castle now. For what seems to be the plot to the Chamber of Secrets, Hogwarts doesn't seem to be locked down. Colin Creevey is here in the Great Hall, not petrified like he would be in the book/movie. Luna Lovegood and Ginny Weasley are here too. Albus Dumbledore is sitting at the staff table too. The attention to detail to this area is neat. We can explore the classrooms now. Pomona Sprout's classroom is first, with Neville Longbottom, Seamus Finnigan, and a random girl inside. The next classroom is Gilderoy Lockharts, with Fred and George Weasley and another random girl inside. Next door is Filius Flitwick's class, including Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, and an unnamed aspiring student trying to do charms. Severus Snape's class is next, with Harry Potter, Draco Malfoy, Vincent Crabbe, and Gregory Goyle inside.

We're here for a reason though, that last door. This is supposed to be the Chamber of Secrets. There's supposed to be wild mons here (Ekans, Seviper, Arbok), but the encounter rate is 0%, so there’s no way to catch them, even with Sweet Scent.

Harry Potter is here, apparently confronting Tom Riddle (or rather the memory of him from the diary, since this is the Chamber of Secrets plot we're talking here). Talk to Tom. Guess who shows up? Ho-oh seems to play the part of Fawkes! We are now set to battle against Vold...er...Tom Marvolo Riddle! All of his mons have Leftovers.

Yep, you noticed the snake archetype with his mons right? Fits right in with the basilisk battle that happened in the book/movie, though you fought him with your Pokemon and not with the sword of Gryffindor. In any case, well, this does take some liberties from the way it happened in the book/movie, and Riddle just leaves. Harry then says he'll get McGonagall to open the gym. Fawkes, I mean, Ho-Oh, is still here, ready to be caught at Lv60! And of course, our gym is now finally open.

The gym here at Hogwarts is the Fortree gym. And surprise! It's Flying type! Must be all about that Wingardium Leviosa.

New badge, now we can finally Fly! At this point, if you followed the walkthrough, the only places we haven't been yet are the places where Ever Grande, Fallarbor, and Lavaridge were. So what now? How about another Trick House challenge? Find him in the left plant. It's the trivia floor. A few questions are different but most of the time this won't be that much to bother. Pick up TM12 Taunt as your prize.

You can turn right around and do another Trick House challenge (you couldn't do this before until you got the sixth badge, even though you got the seventh badge before the sixth). Find him in the NE cupboard. Snag a Glitter Mail as you go through the rotating walls. A Magnet is the reward.

So what's really open? Two places. One is that route in Rosewood blocked by the Wingull. The other is the Meteor Falls entrance as well as Route 10, which is at the north side. I started with the Meteor Falls entrance.

ROSWELL [ROSW] - "A community popular for its UFO spottings"

Pick up a Sun Stone from the man at the PokeCenter and talk to Lanette too. A youngster here will also trade you a Sneasel if you have a Ralts. A Nugget is on the meteorite here, which you can just sell right away. Prof. Cozmo's house is now home to Kyle and Jim Valenti of the Roswell cast. Let's now visit the former Move Tutor's home, which is now the Crashdown Cafe. Michael Guerin, Isabel Evans, Alex Whitman, Max Evans, and Maria DeLuca are here. Max wonders where he left his spaceship in Meteor Falls, and Maria will actually show some interesting wares! All for P500 too.

Get a PP Max at the soot pile to the east. We're done here, considering that we have landed back at Route 9 again.

Okay, plot time. No other place is open right now, except for the bottom route in Rosewood, so let's go there. You'll be stopped again, but this is just a sneaky item: a Scone. Keep going and surprise! A Lv65 Snorlax! Deal with it and we can dive now. Go to the one immediately to the left. You can go east and all the way north to another diving spot, but won't progress far because of a waterfall, so just go to the one to the left of the first spot.

STORYBROOKE [STOR] - "A magical town with a curse that you would never believe!"

Aha! So this is what Lavaridge is here. Pretty large, and even has a gym too. The setting of Once Upon a Time if you must know. The first house is Jefferson's Mansion, and he's inside. Nothing else there. The PokeCenter has Dr. Whale and Will Scarlet. The gym is open any time, but let's go ahead and check out the rest of town. Snow and David, the Charmings, are in the next house over. Emma Swan's next door, along with Killian and Henry Mills. The Lion King is on TV too. The next house is Mr. Gold's Pawnbroker & Antiquities Dealer. Mr. Gold by the way is the gym leader here, but we'll get to him in a bit. Belle is the clerk, and you can buy all sorts of secret base items, including the closeout sales items, desks, chairs, and dolls. Some are pretty expensive, but I don't really care that much about secret base stuff when playing rom hacks. If you decline to look at those wares though, you can get, well, basically the entire selection of regular mart wares plus evolution stones!

Next row of houses! The first is the sheriff's department. No one here yet. Marco's Handyman & Woodworking Services is next. August Wayne Booth and Marco himself are here, possibly doing something Pinocchio-ish. Next is Hopper Psychiatry Office, home of Archie Hopper. Doc, Happy, and Grumpy are outside the next building, Granny's Diner. Inside is Ashley, Astrid, Blue Fairy, Tink, Ruby, and Granny herself. The area below with the Swablus is a portal for later. Finally we have mayor Regina Mills' home. Inside is Zelena the wicked witch, Robin Hood, and Regina herself. That's all there's to it. Let's challenge the gym! We've got Water and Ice types to deal with and it's Sootopolis' gym layout.

Woohoo! Final badge. But we don't have the HM for Waterfall, plus Mr. Gold is giving us some work to do. We gotta go to Wonderland to defeat the Queen of Hearts, Cora. And how to do that? That portal in the SE! Enter it.

ENCHANTED FOREST [ENCH]

The very first thing to do is to check the SW corner for a free Sacred Ash. The house is locked, so head east. The Dwarf's Cottage is also locked, and Mulan is nearby for whatever reason. Two paths to the north though? Well, the first requires Waterfall which we still don't have, plus the other one is a maze area that is blocked by an Azumarill. We'll be heading south. When you get to a hot spring, you can find Phillip and Aurora talking to the west, plus some Stables you cannot enter. Next to the Ariel at the SE is a cave, but if you check NE of it, you'll find a hidden Nugget. The only thing you can do is enter the cave.

WONDERLAND [WOND]

Just a big maze. Wonder why it's so bright and sunny? Go right at the first two forks, then down at the third, and finally north at the last to find Cora.

Deoxys Lv70 (shiny), Pay Day, Psychic, Extremespeed, Crunch, holds Scope Lens

Wow, shinies. We defeat Cora but she mentions having put a curse on a spaceship in a cave. Possibly related to Max from Roswell? We'll need to head out now.

Well, we can do the seventh Trick House challenge. Find the guy in the right window. Pick up a Tropic Mail in the maze. Your reward is a PP Max.

Psychic Joshua: Alakazam Lv68, Wobbuffet Lv68, P1632

Hex Maniac Patricia: Banette Lv68, P1632

Psychic Alexis: Chimecho Lv68, Misdreavus Lv68, Alakazam Lv68, P1632

So where is Max’s spaceship anyways? As it turns out, it is at Meteor Falls, specifically the Route 11 entrance in a nearby rock. Very interesting to place it inside a rock there. Now go back to Roswell, enter Crashdown Cafe, and find Max. Exchange the Spaceship and we finally get the Go-Goggles! Now we can go wandering in the desert on Route 9!

A Rare Candy is in a small rock NE of her. And at the very end is TM37 Sandstorm. Remember the Desert Ruins for later! Anyways, in the NE corner is someone named Jack Bristow, from Alias. The place we're at is the tomb of Milo Rambaldi, and it seems that Arvin Sloane (remember him?) is plotting Rambaldi's endgame! We automatically go to…

SEALED CHAMBER [SEAL]

Surprised? Yep, it's the Sealed Chamber. This is basically the main Braille room. You do need Dig. Don't have it? Well, the TM for it is right here so you can teach it to a mon right now. That being said, you can just be lazy and use an Escape Rope (you pop up at that other rock near the top of Route 9 by the way), then go back and get the mon you used for Dig or something, then talk to Jack again to return to the Sealed Chamber or whatever. In any case, after you open it up, enter and press A. You'll go and meet up with Jack and Arvin. Seems Arvin has made his mind up, we've gotta stop him. All of his mons hold Leftovers.

Arvin Sloane: P2920

Regice Lv72, Blizzard, Earthquake, Ancientpower, Zap Cannon

Registeel Lv72, Meteor Mash, Earthquake, Ancientpower, Zap Cannon

Zoroark Lv73, Beat Up, Crunch, Pay Day, Flamethrower

The room will soon quake, which is actually the trigger to the Regi chambers! You'll then be teleported out. Talk to Jack again. He'll even mention those chambers, so now's a good time to go to them! But also, he does say we should meet the president, which means our next plot destination is Washington DC, south of Route 18.

Well, we're in the area, let's go ahead and head south to the Desert Ruins. Right two spaces from the Braille, down two, use Strength, and Regirock Lv70 awaits!

Now to River City and Route 4, then to Route 21 and the Island Cave. Up to the Braille, read it, wait two minutes, then Regice Lv70 is up for grabs!

Finally the Ancient Tomb on Route 15, which is conveniently on the way to Washington D.C. You oughta know where it is if you know your R/S/E. Use Fly in the middle and confront Registeel Lv70.

Now let's head to D.C. No Wingulls blocking that path.

WASHINGTON D.C. [WADC]

The first thing you'll come to is Gettysburger. Inside you'll find Marcus Walker and Stephen Finch from Scandal, Wally (!?), a few unchanged NPCs, as well as Annalise Keating from How to Get Away With Murder. I wonder why Wally's here. In any case, there's a big wall to the west, but you can get around it to the Reflecting Pool and the Washington Monument. Nothing of interest though. The SE corner has Olivia Pope & Associates. Inside is Diego "Huck" Muñoz, Harrison Wright, Charlie, and Quinn Perkins; in other words more Scandal characters. Finally the fancy art museum up here isn't an art museum (were you by chance expecting the Smithsonian?). It's obviously the White House. The first house has more Scandal characters: Jake Ballard, Olivia Pope, and the president! Seems we came at a bad time. But since we've been helpful with Arvin Sloane, we could be of some help anyways. We gotta confront the highly classified CIA black-ops division known as B-613. Olivia will invite us to her office, which we've already gone to already. Go back there to find her and Jake again. Talk to Olivia. She'll give out orders, and ours is to tend to Pokemon matters. So what now? We can go back to the Washington Monument, where a guy is waiting. Eli "Rowan" Pope thinks we're too little to handle things! Bring it on!

Command Rowan: P1500

Flygon Lv73 (shiny), Dragon Claw, Earthquake, Ancientpower, Silver Wind, holds Shell Bell

Mamoswine Lv73, Earthquake, Rock Slide, Blizzard, Meteor Mash, holds Leftovers

Nidoking Lv73 (shiny), Earthquake, Sludge Bomb, Rock Slide, Blizzard, holds Poison Barb

Nidoqueen Lv73 (shiny), Earthquake, Sludge Bomb, Rock Slide, Blizzard, holds Poison Barb

Groudon Lv74 (shiny), Rock Slide, Earthquake, Meteor Mash, Pay Day, holds Leftovers

Mewtwo Lv75 (shiny), Psychic, Un-Pay Day, Cross Chop, Sacred Fire, holds Twistedspoon

Ooh, we get some truth here. When Arvin Sloane was depressed, Rowan told him about Milo Rambaldi. He got obsessed with that guy, and well we are meeting the puppet master right here. He then recognizes your power and says you should go challenge the Pokemon League. Yeah sure, chief, we just need the HM for Waterfall. All of a sudden, Olivia shows up with a guard, ready to arrest her own father! She also says we’re ready for the league. And we finally get HM07 Waterfall. Remarkable!

There's a new guy at the entrance of Washington D.C. Talk to him and he will take you to S.H.I.E.L.D. HQ! All you can do is enter. Alphonso Mackenzie, Daisy Johnson, Melinda May, and Phil Coulson are on the first floor. Second floor has Leo Fitz and Jemma Simmons. Third floor has the mainline Avengers: Thor, Tony Stark, Steve Rogers, and Bruce Banner. Final floor has Natasha Romanoff, Clint Barton, Maria Hill, and Nick Fury. There are items in the corner. The rightmost one is a shiny Lv70 Electrode! But the other two are a Nugget and a Master Ball. Yes!

WATERFALL BACKTRACKING [WATF]

So let's start with Route 11. At the top of the waterfall here is a Rare Candy. Meteor Falls next. Head up the waterfall and go through two floors. Take the lower path at the fork and you should find TM23 Iron Head.

Old Couple John&Jay: P6400

Medicham Lv80, Psychic, Calm Mind, Hi Jump Kick, Recover

Lucario Lv80, Focus Punch, Dragon Claw, Dynamicpunch, Meteor Mash

Dragon Tamer Nicolas: Altaria Lv80, Dragonite Lv80, P6400

Head inwards to the SW ladder, then surf north. Do not worry about the cave to the south for now, because you will be blocked by Azumarills if you attempt to go there. The north cave is of course where you can get mons like Bagon, Beldum, and Larvitar, and TM02 Dragon Claw is inside as well.

Back to Route 14, take the waterfall up, pick up some Hondew Berries, cross the bridges with the Acro Bike, reveal the Kecleon, cross more bridges, and you'll find a Rare Candy.

Remember Storybrooke's entrance has an additional path? Let's go there now. Dive and head to the east wall, then north, then west. Surface there and scale the waterfall. The right path is a dead end, the left one sadly is blocked by yet another Wingull, but at the end of the center path you can find an Ultra Ball. That's it here.

Return to the Enchanted Forest, then take the left of two paths leading up. Scale this waterfall, and you have a chance to get Celebi Lv70! This concludes the backtracking segment. Head east of Route 25.

HOENN LEAGUE [LEAG]

You can head south to the PokeCenter on Victory Island as a shortcut to bypass Victory Road. The Chansey on the way to the league building will still heal. Lots of weird Pokemon cameos...why is there a Charmander in front of the building? It will attack when you interact with it. It's a shiny Charmander Lv80, look out!

So now we’re here at the Pokemon League building. You already have all the badges by this point, the PokeCenter is the same, and the PokeMart has two clerks but yes, these are the same kinds of clerks we have in other marts so the wares are the same.

So our first three members of the Elite Four will be specializing in Grass, Fire, and Water types, respectively. The three classic types! To make things more interesting, their first mon will be an Eeveelution, then they will have the three starters of each region, then one of the Johto legendary dogs (except for Nolan, the Grass type user, who’ll have a Raikou since there was no Grass type dog). The last two mons of each Elite Four member will also be shinies! Very interesting setups! Prepare ahead of time before battling, the levels will just increase and increase!

Don't know where Nolan is from, unless it's John Nolan from The Rookie. Cole here is Cole Turner from Charmed.

POST GAME [POST]

Following the credits, load your game...agh! Three items right in front of you! They're all Poke Dolls. Downstairs, talk to Norman to get the S.S. Ticket. He then points you to the ports in either San Francisco or Miami. Well, we've got some stuff that's open now! Let's see. How about the final Trick House challenge! Find the guy under the SW cushion. A Bead Mail is at the midpoint. The Red Tent is your prize for finishing up the Trick House!

Bring you Mach Bike, some Repels, and go on Route 27 to find Sky Pillar. Make your way to the top to have the chance to battle Rayquaza Lv85!

It may not be obvious what to do at this point. Go to New York City, and attempt to go behind the gym. You need to press A, where you'll get involved in some commotion. Kate Beckett and Rick Castle are in the middle of arresting a guy. All of a sudden you warp to Star City from Arrow!

STAR CITY [STAC]

Sounds like a government conspiracy is going on. Seems like Oliver Queen is also involved, accosting Jason Smith. With you and the Castle characters getting involved, you all teleport yet again. In the next area, a John is talking to you about attacking Green Arrow. The Castle characters are so confused. Felicity will then battle you!

Expert Felicity: P19200

Porygon2 Lv95, Tri Attack, Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, Recover, holds Leftovers

Dedenne Lv95, Thunderbolt, Headbutt, Iron Head, Thunder Wave, holds Magnet

Togedemaru Lv95, Thunderbolt, Iron Head, Cross Chop, Megahorn, holds Magnet

Togekiss Lv95, Un-Pay Day, Aeroblast, Extrasensory, Ancientpower, holds Leftovers

Porygon-Z Lv95, Tri-Attack, Thunder, Blizzard, Fire Blast, holds Silk Scarf

Felicity then explains we are attempting to find a "meta-human", a mind reader if you will. The plan is to head to Central City and find Barry...I mean The Flash. Also a guy named Cisco is someone to talk to for returning home. Leave the building you're in, which is the Verdant. Star City P.D. is up north, but it's locked. The house next door has Quentin and Laurel Lance. Nobody's in the SW house. Only place left is the SE building: Big Belly Burger. And it doesn't look like there's anything of interest there either. There is a path to the SE. Let's go.

CENTRAL CITY [CENT]

The first two houses are empty! The house above the second one has Leonard Snart, Mick Rory, Rip Hunter, Dr. Martin Stein, and Jefferson Jackson. The house to the left of that has Joe West. There's a PokeCenter up north, and the P.D. too, but that's locked. There's a really big building to the east of those, and a smaller one named CC Jitters, to the south of it. Nothing too important in that one building, just a clerk who doesn't offer anything. The big building is S.T.A.R. Labs. Press A to go up to the scene. You'll first see Cisco, along with our Castle friends. You'll be talking with Cisco Ramon Vibe and Caitlin Snow. Oh, and Barry Allen is here of course. Sounds like we'll be finding a Mind Man. Our Flash then runs off to Star City. You can't really explore this building much, as H.R. Wells blocks the way to the eastern room.

Back in Star City, you'll be blocked, so press A for the next scene. You'll walk to Oliver and Barry, and it seems Mind Man is here! We have to battle him. Being "Mind Man",  guess what type he specializes in!

Pokemaniac Mind Man: Hypno Lv95, Absol Lv95, Slowbro Lv95, Xatu Lv95, Girafarig Lv95, Alakazam Lv96, P5760

After that battle Barry punches him. That mission is completed. And now it's back to S.T.A.R. Labs, so go there. The guys you want to talk to are in the corner. Talk to Cisco. Sure, he thinks your world is strange, but being a meta-human yourself, he can still "vibe" us back home! Or so it seems.

NATIONAL CITY [NATL]

Oops, not yet. A hostage situation seems to be broadcasted at Luthor Corp, but no one's hurt. Ed Davis is bringing the news. But something doesn't add up since Luthor Corp is supposed to be in NYC. Now we can explore. Ignore the big building (Catco Worldwide Media) for now. The SW house has no one, but the NW house has Maxwell Lord and Alex Danvers. Seems to be the cast of Supergirl. An Azumarill blocks the NE house, and no ones in the SE house. Time to explore the media company. Press A to find our Castle buddies as well as Supergirl herself, Kara Danvers. Winn Schott is here too, and mentions a rogue alien on the sixteenth floor. Now we teleport back to S.T.A.R. Labs, so much for that city.

Talk to Cisco again. Teleport again! And it's...the Enchanted Forest, or at least some unexplored part of it. The big castle here is Snow White's, and it's locked. The exit is to the SE. It leads to the more known part of the Enchanted Forest. I guess we are back after all! Take the portal back to the town portion of Storybrooke. No one's around. However, if you go into Mr. Gold's Pawnbroker & Antiquities Dealer, you'll find commotion! Mr. Gold is confronted by the black fairy, Fiona, his mother. All this stuff about magic, and all the power! But we must battle Fiona, for she has to be at the heart of all this!

Black Fairy Fiona: P8000

Zoroark Lv99 (shiny), Crunch, Flamethrower, Shadow Ball, Pay Day, holds Blackglasses

Darkrai Lv100 (shiny), Crunch, Psychic, Blizzard, Fire Blast, holds Leftovers

Fiona disappears and Belle appears. It also seems that Mr. Gold killed Fiona after our battle. Also we need to find Henry, or at least a heart that belongs to him. When you leave, there will be a lot of people outside. You need to talk to Emma. The music will change to the gym battle theme. She says some things, then Gideon disappears and our Castle crew arrives. Henry then says he loves his mother. The Castle crew wonders why you went ahead of them. Regina then recognizes Rick. Just then, Cisco shows up. He then surmises that our next destination is Portland! The Castle Crew is gonna go back to NYC. In any case, Emma recognizes us as someone who helped! Neato.

Doing all these events have given us some leeway in regards to places to go! First stop, Azurill Isle Cave! If it's low tide, head to the low ice chamber and the guy at that area has now left! I wonder what this chamber's for?

Mons found:

Azurill: 100%

Well, if you slide to the SW part, you'll get...a Poke Ball. Now try to slide to the middle of the north end. We get the chance to catch Mew Lv75!

And that's not all, you can enter the area behind Azurill Isle Cave to get Suicune Lv75 too!

Next stop, Victory Road! Go to the area with waterfalls. The Azumarill that used to be there is no longer there, so we can take the ladder. Oop, dark maze. The encounters will be all Ditto. The first path you should take goes north. At the next fork, take a left. The next fork, a left as well. Before confronting the legendary up the steps, you can head left to pick up a Repel as well as an Everstone in the rock to the left. A Rare Candy is to the right, and another Everstone can be picked up to the east as well. Now's your chance to confront Mewtwo Lv80!

Head back to New View Tunnel and take the path near the Fairview entrance. The Wingull here is gone, so what was it blocking? It's Raikou Lv75!

Head back to Route 12, and go to the cable car. Use the Mach Bike to climb the mudslide. Get an Iron here. You'll also find Charles Bing, another Friends character. We can actually battle this person!

An Escape Rope, and a place to dive! Interesting. Dive and you will eventually find a cave. Enter it for the chance to capture Kyogre Lv80!

The path behind the Berry Master's home is open. Head behind the house and just before the curve going west and north, you can pick up a hidden Brightpowder. This place is Mt. Inferno, which has Entei Lv75!

Head back to Route 19, south of the maze, to a section of Route 24, then enter the diving spot there. Surface at the other side. You'll find a cave, entitled Sealed Chamber? Why, it's Regigigas Lv80!

Return to Storybrooke, dive in the spot, then take the alternate diving spot. Head up the waterfall and take the left path. There's a teleporter here. It leads to Sky Garden! We can now catch Shaymin Lv75! Remember it is in Sky Form.

At some point, the Halliwell Manor in San Francisco is locked again. To open it, return to Sunnydale and talk to Willow. Head back and the manor should be open. Enter and go to the top floor to find the Book of Shadows. Attempt to read it; this results in an encounter with Marshadow Lv60!

Return to the Enchanted Forest and go to that one area with the maze that was previously blocked by an Azumarill. The right path goes nowhere, so head south to another fork. This time you should head right. At a choice of two paths going north, take the first one, you'll eventually reach a ledge which shows you had to take the first path instead of the second. Keep going north, then you'll head south. Take the left of two paths, and you'll eventually get to a pond. Surf across it and enter the ship.

NEVERLAND [NEVE]

Ah yes, I always hated this area in the Grass Jewel games, because it's a confusing glitch maze where you have next to no idea where you're going, and it's completely dark too. You can't even use Flash. First of all, before heading south, head all the way east to get a Lax Incense. Now follow these instructions:

If you don't see a number of spaces, assume you are going in that direction until you can't anymore.

Head to the left side of the area

South, east, north, east 16 spaces

South, west, north, west, north, west, south, east, south, east, south, east, south, east, then south 3 spaces

West two spaces, north 2 spaces

West, north, west, north, then west 2 spaces

South, west, north, west, south, west, north 3 spaces

West 2 spaces

Take the teleporter you find and follow the winding passage. The fruits of your labor: Deoxys Lv80! Afterwards, teleport out with either teleporter. We're done here! Let's go back to Portland and do some plot stuff! Take the path that a Wingull used to block to find yet another teleporter. This leads to that back room in S.T.A.R. labs we couldn't go to before. You can find Harry and H.R. Wells talking to the left. You can also head to Caitlin Snow, Julian Albert, and Cisco Ramon too, but you can't teleport with Cisco anymore. An additional teleporter is in the SE corner of the back room. Take it to reach National City again. If you wanna see Barry Allen again, he's at CC Jitters in Central City, sitting at a table with Iris West. Jesse Wells and Wally West are here too. You can revisit Big Belly Burger in Star City to find Ray Palmer, Nate Heywood, and Amaya Jiwe. The house west of there has Lyla Michaels and John Diggle. Sara Lance is around the north end of town. Verdant has Roy Harper and Thea Queen. Oliver Queen and Felicity Smoak are upstairs. In National City, the Martian Manhunter, J'onn J'onnz, is in the SE house. At Catco Worldwide Media, you can talk to Kara Danvers, Mon-El, and Winn Schott. Upstairs is James Olsen and Cat Grant. You can watch a special broadcast with Cat Grant on the TV on the right side.

THE VALLEY [VALL]

This location can be accessed via a portal on the right side of that tree maze above the waterfall in Storybrooke (east of the one that takes you to Sky Garden). A Chansey can heal your mons here. The SE house is the Farmer's Market, and Eric is basically running it (at least I think it's Eric). It's more or less a normal PokeMart with the combined wares of two clerks in normal marts, although Moomoo Milk is also sold here for P200, plus all the elemental held items normally only available at the department store, evolution stones, the coffee shop items, and as a surprise you can buy Rare Candies for P10000 and Master Balls for P50000! At the NE end of the valley you can catch a Lv15 shiny Eevee! In the NW forest, find the bag and it says that if you use the stone inside, you can ensure that the next encounter you receive is a shiny, although you can only use it once. The SW house (where you start) has Eric and Samantha just chilling, but you can battle them both. All of Samantha's mons have Leftovers.

This concludes my walkthrough for Pokemon Scorching Scarlet. Hopefully this makes things easier for the players! Do note there are still some things incomplete here too!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: What does the guy who offers the choice of censored language do in Riverdale?

A: I wish I knew the answer to this one. I don’t think it has any impact on the gameplay in any case. This kind of person was in the Grass Jewel games too.

Q: Is Demon Zankou supposed to be that strong in his first encounter?

A: I don’t think he’s supposed to be. It seems to be a mistake with the new update I bet, since the video walkthrough shows he has only two mons in the Lv30 range.

Q: How can you evolve the Gen-7 starters?

A: You can’t, sorry. Refer back to this page to see which mons are actually not present..

Q: WTF? I just got hit with a move called Epic Justice! It was a one-hit KO move! How?

A: This move replaces Splash (which may explain why Magikarp and Hoppip and such don’t have it anymore). It is a one-hit KO move apparently with no power ranking, with an accuracy value of 200. To test this, I hacked the move onto one of my Pokemon and can confirm it is a 100% accurate one-hit KO move (it even hits both opposing Pokemon in a double battle). Being a Normal-type move, it has no effect on Ghost types, so leading with that is an option.

TO-DO

Figure out if the Ekans, Mankey, Machop, and Drowzee lines are catchable, also Dunsparce, Cresselia, and Darkrai, which I haven’t found either.

CREDITS

LatiosAzurill for the hack itself, it was quite fun to play and write a walkthrough about. Also for the video walkthroughs because I was stuck in a number of places.
