Pokemon Grass Jewel 2 version 1.5 detailed walkthrough by Olivia R. (note this is a ROM hack, I do not own this and will not distribute this hack, but I am the author of this walkthrough so if you use it credit me). As a reminder, you need a clean Pokemon Emerald ROM (please Google it), a patching utility like Lunar IPS and a GBA Emulator (I used VBA) to play Pokemon Grass Jewel (you can also google a pre-patched rom too).

NOTE: This ROM hack is a sequel to Pokemon Grass Jewel, so this guide will assume you have played that. Refer to my (outdated) detailed walkthrough on Pokemon Grass Jewel if necessary. There will be spoilers in this guide, both for this game as well as the previous game.

I will list things that need to be listed, although for catching mons, I am unable to figure out the encounter rates of a few areas, so they will just be listed without percentages.

Notable things in this hack:

-Several mons from future generations (Gen-4 - Gen-7)

-Certain moves have changes to them

-Numerous sitcom references for some reason

-Fairy type

-New enemy team: Team Truth.

-Lots of post-game content

-Certain mons have type changes.

-Reusable TMs

-Can use another Repel after one is used up

Do the prologue as usual. For those who played Grass Jewel 1, you may remember that you were introduced to the world by Professor Maple. Of course, for those who know what happened with him, it's quite obvious he won't be introducing us anytime soon. Instead we have Professor Pine, who was his colleague. Do the prologue stuff, get outta the truck, and mom will talk. It seems that your family this time around originally were from Johto, and they accidentally left without you. You apparently get your brother's old room too, whatever that means. And in case you’re wondering, your brother was the protagonist of Grass Jewel 1. Upstairs, set the clock, and check the PC for a Fresh Water. Downstairs, miss the interview, then you will want to head next door. If you want, explore town to see all the flowers and random Pokemon just sitting about (the starters can be caught later in a grass patch to the south, but only after you get Surf). I believe the rival is Emmett this time around, and Pine has taken him into his daughter's room. He'll talk about the history of your family and his before leaving.

Head north to Route 101 and it looks like you gotta help Pine as he's being chased by the usual Zigzagoon. Get two Fresh Waters and check the bag. In the first Grass Jewel, you could select between the three legendary Johto dogs. This time around? You're selecting the three legendary Kanto birds! In any case, the Zigzagoon will be way too easy to defeat. Back to the lab, Pine will let you keep your legendary bird. You'll then want to see Emmett, who will of course be out in the fields by now.

OLDALE TOWN [OLDA]

Visit the PokeCenter as needed. Be sure to remember the upstairs floor, as it has the Move Relearner, Move Deleter, and Name Rater, and this goes for every PokeCenter in the game! For those familiar with the first Grass Jewel, yes, these features were in that game too. Also familiar are the sitcom/movie characters in the houses. The Big Bang Theory characters are in the SE house, while Agent Carter characters are in the NW house (also added, Ana and Edwin Jarvis).

Profile guy is in the PokeCenter as usual. If you go upstairs, you get the tutorial for the Move Tutor, Move Deleter, and Name Rater (but you probably knew all of this if you saw it in Oldale or in the first Grass Jewel). A Max Revive is behind the PokeMart. The two south houses have characters from Gilmore Girls and Alias. There's a Poke Ball at the gym entrance. If you enter, you'll find out Norman's missing! Talk to the guy here to get the PokeNav! It'll already have the stuff needed, but in any case, that's all there's to here, no helping Wally catching a Ralts or greeting Norman or anything. There's nothing else to do in Petalburg for now, as Wally's house just has his parents and nothing else of importance. Head to Route 104.

Youngster Billy: Zigzagoon Lv10, Sentret Lv10, P200

Fisherman Darian: Magikarp Lv14, P560

Lady Cindy: Zigzagoon Lv15, P4200, registered in PokeNav

If you go towards the bug catcher to the north near Darian, facing him from the south side, walk down three spaces, face east, and press use, you can find a hidden Heart Scale. A hidden Potion is north of the Darian, in a spot two tiles west of the steps out of the beach.

PETALBURG WOODS [PWOD]

Mons found: Wurmple, Shroomish, Taillow, Silcoon, Cascoon, Slakoth, Caterpie, Weedle

First go right towards the Buneary plush doll and inspect the empty space to pick up Moomoo Milk. Head south to a section of Route 104 and head to the southernmost flower. From there, walk west one space and press use to get a hidden Poke Ball. Return to Petalburg Woods and take the left path. Pick up a Parlyz Heal as you go. You won't run into any commotion at the midpoint. At the NW end, get a hidden Poke Ball at the SW side.

Bug Catcher James: Nincada Lv15, Nincada Lv16, P6400, registered in PokeNav

Pick up the Ether and move east. The exit is to the north, but you don't need Cut to continue to the east, so let's explore. First, head east of the Swablu five spaces, then north one and press use to get a hidden Big Mushroom. A Miracle Seed can be found near the Wynaut Doll. Go south for an X Attack, then pick up another hidden Big Mushroom nearby. That's it here.

ROUTE 104 NORTH [104N]

Pick up TM09 Bullet Seed from the guy here. Talk to the girls in the Pretty Petal Flower Shop so you can buy stuff later if you want, as well as get the Wailmer Pail and a free berry. In the grass patch behind the shop, find the clearing in the middle for a hidden Luxury Ball.

Rich Boy Winston: Zigzagoon Lv15, P6000, registered in PokeNav

Lass Haley: Lotad Lv15, Shroomish Lv16, P256, registered in PokeNav

To the east of Haley you can find a Squirtle. This is the entrance to Squirtle Square! You can get a free Squirtle here. Now cross the bridge.

Twins Gina&Mia: Seedot Lv14, Lotad Lv14, P336

And...that's actually it. You cannot go any further, because there's Squirtles in the way! Well, what are we going to do? Well, what other paths were blocked off beforehand?

ROUTE 103 (revisited) [103R]

How about that land bridge on Route 103? Yep, try going there. The Wingull from before is gone. Go there to see...a seemingly familiar character? Looks like Leaf, who's inspecting the cave on Route 103. For Grass Jewel players, this cave was here before, but it was blocked off and had no plot purpose. Sadly this cave still has no purpose; even if you were to use the Walk Through Walls code there's no way inside. Anyways this character's name is April. She's May's cousin, looking for her, but it seems May has set off for Johto. Family affairs aside, and despite what sounds like rival music playing, she's not interested in a battle. She does of course tell you to start challenging gyms, which I'm sure you've already expressed interest in. Looks like you're going to continue on Route 103.

Fisherman Andrew: Magikarp Lv15, Feebas Lv15, Horsea Lv15, P600

Pokefan Miguel: Skitty Lv15, P1200, registered in PokeNav

Guitarist Marcos: Electabuzz Lv15, P480

Twins Amy&Liv: Plusle Lv15, Minun Lv15, P360, registered in PokeNav

Looks like the Wingull is blocking an entrance to something, which you probably remember as the Altering Forest if you played the first Grass Jewel. Sadly you can't do anything about this Wingull for now.

Thinking of heading east? Not happening, there's more Wingull roadblocks. The Trick House is open however, and you can find the guy under the table. That being said, you don't have Cut, so you can't proceed with the first challenge. Just go south.

Pokefan Isabel: Plusle Lv15, Minun Lv15, P1200, registered in PokeNav

Pokefan Kaleb: Minun Lv15, Plusle Lv15, P1200

There's not much else to do. Catch mons here and go for Slateport.

SLATEPORT CITY [SLAT]

Mons found:

Magikarp: 100% (old rod), 60% (good rod)

Krabby: 80% (super rod)

Mantine: 64% (surf)

Horsea: 40% (good rod)

Poliwag: 30% (surf)

Staryu: 15% (super rod)

Wailmer: 5% (super rod)

Wingull: 5% (surf)

Pelipper: 1% (surf)

Feels strange, doesn't it? Coming in from Route 110. Well, Slateport has a few marginal changes. First off, there's a gym here! The Battle Tent is the same as before, so pick up TM41 Torment from the sailor inside. In the Pokemon Fan Club, you can get a Silk Scarf from the NW guy, and check your mon's friendship with the girl near the Pikachu. Also interview with a reporter and possibly get a Soothe Bell from the girl to the north. Also learn Swagger from the guy near the Azumarill.

Sadly the gym is closed. We can see that the leader is Shawn, and the guy at the entrance says you should go to Mauville. Hmm... It also seems that this is the Psych Detective Agency (in the original Grass Jewel, this was where the Name Rater's house used to be as well). And if you wanted to visit the museum, more roadblocks! Azumarills are in the way.

As for everything else, Kevin McCalister from Home Alone is out and about. You can pick up the Powder Jar in Slateport, and there's Sex and the City characters here just like in Grass Jewel. You can buy every berry in the game from the old man to the south for P50, and the Energy Guru sells all vitamin items for P2000 and in-battle stat items for P1000. The Effort Ribbon girl is next to him. The SW saleswoman sells dolls for P3000 or P2000. The one regular house has Meet the Parents characters. Well, one place has new sitcom characters, and that's the shipyard. These characters are from Scorpion. And that's more or less it here. You can detour to Route 109 for some battling.

Tuber Chandler: Aipom Lv16, Aipom Lv16, P64

Tuber Lola: Wooper Lv16, Wooper Lv16, P64, registered in PokeNav

Two seashore houses, the one on the right just has characters from The O.C. The other seashore house is the one most players remember. While you can battle here, keep in mind the trainers have Lv30+ mons! Might wanna save this for later, but when you're ready, here's the trainers inside.  Don't forget your Soda Pop prize at the end.

Tuber Simon: Wooper Lv32, Wooper Lv32, P128

Beauty Johanna: Goldeen Lv28, P2240

Sailor Dwayne: Wingull Lv30, Machop Lv30, Mankey Lv30, P960

Head to the blue pad SW of the left seashore house to pick up a hidden Dive Ball. Head SE of there to the green umbrella for a hidden Heart Scale. One space east, then four spaces south of there is a hidden Max Revive. Near the SE end of the beach is a hidden Max Elixir. Talk to the girl tuber near the fishermen for the Soft Sand. Finally, talk to the two fishermen here to get both the Old Rod and Good Rod! Happy hunting!

I’ll add a section on this later when we actually get to the route. Upon returning to Slateport, go to the Route 110 entrance and you'll spot a conspicuous bag. Inside is a piece of paper saying that the missing gym leader (take a guess who it is!) gave warning to a person's return, and that the end is near. The note was written by Maple. I warned you about Grass Jewel spoilers, and for those that remember, he was a surprise villain in that game. Back on Route 110, the Wingull blockade is gone!

ROUTE 110 (revisited) [110R]

Youngster Timmy: Gligar Lv16, Poliwag Lv16, P320

Three spaces above the nearby sign is a Full Restore. You'll fight Emmett next.

PKMN Trainer Emmett: Shuckle Lv18, Teddiursa Lv18, Eevee Lv20, P5840 and the Itemfinder

His Shuckle has Water Absorb by the way. Anyways you'll tell him about the letter Maple had, and it turns out Emmett was his son. Emmett worries for your safety and hopes you won't do something reckless.

Guitarist Joseph: Electrike Lv19, Flaaffy Lv19, P608

A hidden Max Revive is next to him.

Triathlete Alyssa: Cubone Lv19, P760

Psychic Edward: Kadabra Lv19, P456

A hidden Luxury Ball is in an opening to the north.

Fisherman Dale: Shellder Lv20, Staryu Lv20, Krabby Lv20, Wailmer Lv20, P800

Help yourself to a Totodile at the Totodile Pond, then go to Mauville City!

MAUVILLE CITY [MAUV]

First two characters you come across are from Arrow. The house with the girl who gives the Coin Case has the Three Stooges. Unfortunately there's nowhere to purchase Harbor Mail at this point in the game, so that'll have to wait. Anyways, you'll find Barry Allen running around to the east, and what's that item below him. Why, it's HM05 Flash! How fitting. The Odd Couple is in the house above him. A guy north of the PokeMart will teach Rollout. You can get either the Mach or Acro Bike right away at Rydel's Cycles as usual, so get one. Enter the PokeCenter and get HM06 Rock Smash from the scientist. Enter the game corner and talk to the girl in the back to get a free doll. Guess who Mauville's gym leader is. Did you guess Wally? It's Wally! Before you challenge him, well there's stuff we can do in the meantime.

Let's start with a small detour to Route 118's west side.

Youngster Deandre: Zigzagoon Lv21, Togepi Lv21, Aipom Lv21, P420

Aroma Lady Rose: Roselia Lv21, Shroomish Lv21, Bellossom Lv21, P840, registered in PokeNav

Guitarist Dalton: Magnemite Lv21, Whismur Lv21, P672, registered in PokeNav

The only thing to find here is a Heart Scale in one of the rocks. A Wingull is blocking the way east. Now let's get a bike and check out Cycling Road on Route 110 for a bit.

Psychic Jaclyn: Kadabra Lv21, P504

Triathlete Abigail: Magnemite Lv23, P920, registered in PokeNav

Triathlete Anthony: Magnemite Lv23, Voltorb Lv23, P920

Triathlete Benjamin: Magnemite Lv23, P920, registered in PokeNav

Triathlete Jasmine: Pachirisu Lv23, Dedenne Lv23, Togedemaru Lv23, P920

Triathlete Jacob: Pachirisu Lv23, Dedenne Lv23, Togedemaru Lv23, P920

Let's go challenge Mauville's gym now. The setup is the same as when Wattson was leader, but Wally and crew are using Fighting types predominantly.

Battle Girl Vivian: Meditite Lv21, Meditite Lv21, P504

Guitarist Kirk: Hitmontop Lv21, Electabuzz Lv21, P672

Youngster Ben: Emolga Lv21, Pachirisu Lv21, P420

It's Wally's first ever time being a gym leader, which is quite neat. If you've noticed, the gym trainers actually had some notable move changes with some strong moves (like Electabuzz already having Thunder). Wally's Pokemon will all have different moves, particularly to cover weaknesses. Remember that Pay Day is a 200 base power move!

Leader Wally: P7200, Punching Badge, TM31 Brick Break, registered in PokeNav

Farfetch'd Lv23, Pay Day, Leaf Blade, Cross Chop, Aeroblast, holds Stick

Primeape Lv23, Pay Day, Cross Chop, Extremespeed, Rock Slide, holds Sitrus Berry

Sudowoodo Lv23, Pay Day, Rock Slide, Earthquake, Cross Chop, holds Leftovers

Hitmontop Lv23, Pay Day, Pixie Kick, Cross Chop, Rock Slide, holds Black Belt

Lucario Lv23, Pay Day, Meteor Mash, Rock Slide, Cross Chop, holds Metal Coat

Gallade Lv24, Pay Day, Leaf Blade, Cross Chop, Psychic, holds Black Belt

You can use Rock Smash with this badge (it's the 3rd badge of course). Well, we haven't been west or north yet. Let's try Route 117 for now.

VERDANTURF TOWN [VERD]

Are you itching to go to Rustboro through the tunnel? Too bad. It seems those pesky Wingulls just love blocking entrances. The Verdanturf Battle Tent is here, so pick up TM45 Attract from a girl and continue. I don't believe we've ever met Scott in the rom hack yet, but he seems to remember who you are. You can learn Fury Cutter in the PokeCenter. The houses at the lower end of town are home to Desperate Housewives characters; the middle house would be the one Wally is in, but it too has Desperate Housewives characters. Interestingly, the black belt and his lover Wanda are here already, so they're not blocked off in the tunnel. There's nothing else of interest. You have only one path left to go, and that's on Route 111.

Camper Tyron: Sandshrew Lv23, P368

Picnicker Bianca: Breloom Lv23, P368

Kindler Hayden: Torkoal Lv23, P736

Trainer Hill is of course here but you can't take the challenge yet of course. The Winstrates are replaced with the Tanners from Full House, but you still have to fight four back-to-back battles.

Tanner Danny: Pichu Lv25, Delibird Lv25, P10000

Tanner DJ: Bayleef Lv25, Quilava Lv25, Croconaw Lv25, P10000

Tanner Michelle: Porygon Lv25, Ivysaur Lv25, Lapras Lv26, P10400

Tanner Jesse: Marshtomp Lv26, Grovyle Lv26, Ampharos Lv26, P10400

Pick up a Macho Brace from DJ and get your Rock Smasher out to continue. I kid, actually. You don't need Rock Smash to actually proceed as the rocks are gone.

Interviewer Gabby&Ty: Magnemite Lv25, Whismur Lv25, P20000 and an interview

Picnicker Irene: Breloom Lv25, Lanturn Lv25, P400

Camper Travis: Sandslash Lv25, P400

Of course, go on Route 112 since the sandstorm will require the Go-Goggles.

ROUTE 112 [R112]

Mons found: Wooper (?), Gligar, Houndour, Numel, Machop, Growlithe, Ponyta, Vulpix, Marill

Get the Nugget and go up. Notice that the cable car and Lavaridge Town are blocked off thanks to this enemy team. They seem different. Who are they? We don't know just yet, just enter the cave to Fiery Path. I mean Liberty Cavern actually.

LIBERTY CAVERN [LIBE]

Mons found: Torkoal, Tyrogue, Zorua, Eevee, Meowth, Magmar, Larvitar, Beldum, Snorlax

A Fire Stone is available, but an Eevee blocks an item further to the north. Head to the NE exit for the rest of Route 112. Enter Cyndaquil Field while you're at it to pick up a free Cyndaquil! Back on Route 111,

Cooltrainer Wilton: Electrike Lv27, Wailmer Lv27, Riolu Lv27, P5400, registered in PokeNav

Get TM43 Secret Power from the guy near the tree (which allows you to get the same TM as well as TM10 in Slateport). If you have the Mach Bike, you can also go up the slopes near the desert and NE corner, but there's nothing of actual importance. Pick the berries, use the Old Lady's Rest Stop, get a berry from the girl outside, and let's trek to Route 113.

(interestingly, I found a Super Repel by using the Walk Through Walls code to go north of the sign, in an empty location in the trees at the NE end of Route 113).

Youngster Jaylen: Trapinch Lv27, P540

Head a bit north from the youngster and inspect the soot pile for an Ether.

Camper Lawrence: Baltoy Lv27, Sandshrew Lv27, double battle with below

Ninja Boy Lung: Ninjask Lv27, Shedinja Lv27, P756

Pokemaniac Wyatt: Rhyhorn Lv27, Lairon Lv27, P1620

Get the Nugget from the soot pile near these three trainers.

Twins Tori&Tia: Aipom Lv27, Spinda Lv27, P648

Pick up the Soot Sack at the Glass Workshop if you have interest. A Max Ether is in the soot pile to the west of the workshop. You'll find TM32 Double Team in another soot pile to the west as well (don't bother with the item behind the trees with the walk through walls code, you'll get into a trainer encounter that softlocks the game).

Youngster Dillon: Steelix Lv28, P560

Bird Keeper Coby: Skarmory Lv27, Pidgeot Lv27, P864

Picnicker Sophie: Lanturn Lv27, Ludicolo Lv27, P432

(another thing I found with the walk through walls code is a hidden Hyper Potion and an invisible uber trainer next to it. Just a reminder that you shouldn't use this code despite the items)

FALLARBOR TOWN [FALL]

You can learn the move Metronome in the PokeMart. Talk to Lanette in the PokeCenter to use the PC. Get the Nugget in the meteorite near Cozmo's home. Characters from Sliders are outside Fallarbor's Battle Tent, while characters from Forever inhabit the old Move Tutor's house. Let's go to Route 114.

Go straight north to pick up a Sun Stone. Now head west of the entrance to see those blue-haired guys and Cozmo, in a scene not unlike the original game. Team Truth! Their goal is to find out what happened to Professor Maple! And they have Cozmo's Meteor. You'll then talk to a businessman-looking individual named Carl, well he'll be nice as long as you don't interfere, but that won't last long. Talk to Cozmo who's befuddled as usual. Pick up a Moon Stone to the NW and go to Route 115 to the south, seeing as there's really nowhere else to go.

Guess what, you still cannot go to Rustboro. What is with these Pokemon blocking entrances all the time? There's a Chansey near the grass patch here that will heal your mons for free, so use as needed. Feel free to catch the Pikachu clones in this area, although they don't count towards your dex and are very rare. Also the area blocked by blue hat guards is the Sacred Field from the original Grass Jewel, and sadly you'll have to wait until much later in the postgame to have access to it. If you have the Mach Bike, ride up the slope to find characters from Get Smart and The Greatest American Hero, as well as pick up an Iron. It looks like you gotta backtrack, and the destination is Mt. Chimney.

MT CHIMNEY [CHIM]

It looks like they're training against each other. There's still some Team Truth grunts to battle though.

Team Truth Grunt: Dunsparce Lv29, P1160

Team Truth Grunt: Mareep Lv29, P1160

Truth Seeker Tyler: Dunsparce Lv30, Mareep Lv30, Flaaffy Lv30, Donphan Lv30, P600

Truth Admin Carl: Donphan Lv31, Ampharos Lv31, Arcanine Lv32, P2560

You'll then have Emmett catch up to you. Guess he never realized an entire enemy team is trying to find his father. Take the Meteorite from the machine. You can buy Lava Cookies with the granny near the Jagged Pass entrance. You can even go back to Route 112 and bypass Jagged Pass to Lavaridge as the grunts there are gone (I'll still cover it though). Of course, you can take the Meteorite back to Cozmo any time to get TM27 Return.

JAGGED PASS [JAGG]

Mons found: Spoink, Numel, NidoranF, NidoranM, Houndour, Growlithe, Vulpix, Ponyta, Drowsee, Machop

Hiker John: Baltoy Lv31, Gligar Lv31, P1240

Triathlete Julio: Lickitung Lv32, P1280

Picnicker Autumn: Breloom Lv32, P512

Two hidden items to find, one is a Sacred Ash in the grass patch SW of John, and the other is an Ultra Ball at the SW end NW of the hopping stones. Bring an Acro Bike to explore this place better.

LAVARIDGE TOWN [LAVA]

GLITCH: Enter the hot springs behind the PokeCenter and if you enter either of the two middle squares, it looks like you're standing on water.

You can learn the move Mimic in the PokeMart. The old woman who gives you an egg actually gives you a Phanpy egg instead of a Wynaut egg. It evolves into a shiny Donphan! In the herb shop, you can get a Charcoal. Characters from Buffy are in the house east of the herb shop.

Energypowder: P200

Energy Root: P200

Heal Powder: P200

Revival Herb: P1000

Nothing in the hot spring to the south, so don't bother with it. Notice who's in front of the gym though, April! She congratulates you for your first badge, and apparently notices she's blocking the way to Flannery's gym. Also she saw Emmett running down Jagged Pass. After telling her, she tells you to assist Emmett any way you can, then she leaves. It's time to enter this gym!

Kindler Jeff: Slugma Lv32, Houndour Lv32, P1024

Charizard Lv34, Pay Day, Aeroblast, Sacred Fire, Thunder, holds Sharp Beak

Torkoal Lv35, Pay Day, Fire Blast, Hydro Pump, Thunder, holds Leftovers

Back outside, Emmett gives you the Go-Goggles. He'll also say that the Slateport gym is open. Interesting! We'll explore Route 111's desert first though.

ROUTE 111 (revisited) [111R]

To get Mirage Tower to appear near the south entrance of the desert, go back and forth between Routes 111 and 112 checking the desert until it appears. Don't forget your Mach Bike and Rock Smash, then make it to the top and pick a fossil to get. The tower will crumble and the other fossil gets lost in the sand. A few steps north of where the tower was, pick up a hidden Protein.

Camper Beau: Dugtrio Lv35, Sandslash Lv35, Claydol Lv35, P560

Camper Drew: Steelix Lv36, P576

At the NE end is the other fossil you didn't get! Might as well get it now!

Picnicker Heidi: Dugtrio Lv35, Claydol Lv35, P560

A Rare Candy is in a rock to the east, while the rock that Dusty is circling has a Stardust.

Ruin Maniac Dusty: Sandslash Lv35, P2100, registered in PokeNav

Picnicker Celia: Quagsire Lv35, Sudowoodo Lv35, P560

Camper Branden: Nosepass Lv35, Gligar Lv35, P560

At the end is TM37 Sandstorm. Remember Desert Ruins for later. We've got a gym to go challenge now!

SLATEPORT GYM [SLAG]

The layout is Brawly's gym. Shawn Spencer and Gus here are members of Psychic Detective Agency from the show Psych.

Black Belt Takao: Poliwrath Lv36, double battle with below

Battle Girl Laura: Politoed Lv36, P2016

Battle Girl Lilith: Kingdra Lv36, double battle with below

Sailor Brenden: Pelipper Lv36, P2016

Blastoise Lv37, Hydro Pump, Un-Pay Day, Blizzard, Thunder, holds Mystic Water

Slowking Lv38, Psychic, Un-Pay Day, Hydro Pump, Thunder, holds Leftovers

Funny that we end up getting the badge that makes Pokemon up to Lv30 obey, even though we beat Flannery's gym which makes Pokemon up to Lv50 obey before that. Where to now? Well, when you run around, you may eventually get a call from...Barney Stinson. For those familiar with the previous Grass Jewel, spoiler, he was the champion. But you then register him as Gym Leader Barney. Interesting. I wonder what gym he has?

Route 104's Pretty Petal Flower Shop now sells stuff for secret bases, and you can also get a White Herb from a girl outside. You can registered Prof. Pine on Route 101 and your mom in Littleroot on the PokeNav too. These are just a few loose ends.

You should actually be going to the Oceanic Museum in Slateport. Enter it, then filch TM46 Thief from the first grunt who remembers you. Upstairs, talk to Capt. Stern to battle back-to-back grunts.

Team Truth Grunt: Dunsparce Lv37, P1480

Team Truth Grunt: Phanpy Lv37, Wobbuffet Lv37, P1480

Carl comes in, acts tough, but then recognizes you. He even is reminded of the other kid two years ago. You know, Stern did tell you to hold onto some Devon Goods that you never actually had during the two battles. In any case, he gets them back again. He'll then heal your mons and go. Leave to have Scott come and talk to you. You'll then register "this Scott person" in your PokeNav. Anyways, the routes leading to Rustboro are now available! Let's start with Rusturf Tunnel.

ROUTE 116 [R116]

Mons found: Skitty, Nincada, Taillow, Aipom, Zigzagoon, Meowth, Abra

A random Berry Juice is two spaces east of Devan. Battle Janice and Jerry to get a Max Ether. Visit Bulbasaur Forest to pick up a Bulbasaur. A Repel is in the southern grass patch. The Hyperion Hotel here is for the postgame and a guard is in the way.

Rich Boy Dawson: Persian Lv38, Delcatty Lv38, P15200 (both hold a Nugget)

RUSTBORO CITY [RUST]

As it turns out, this is in fact the city where Barney is now Gym Leader. He must've fallen hard. Anyways, a random Team Truth grunt is blocking the entrance, and characters from Chuck are in the house next door. Ignore Devon Corporation for now and keep exploring. Two characters from Arrow are below, and the Crashdown Cafe is yet another postgame area for much later. The Pokemon Trainer's School is intact (it wasn't there in the first Grass Jewel) and guess what, Roxanne is the teacher! Don't expect a battle or anything though. What you can do is go to the house north of the school, and you will have a chance of catching a shiny Togepi outside! (in the original Grass Jewel it used to be a freebie) Look out because it is Lv40.

Enter that house to see characters from iZombie. The house south of there has characters from Scandal. The house south of that has characters from Pretty Little Liars and 90210. Near the SE houses are One Tree Hill characters. Get HM01 Cut in the PokeCenter. You will also find Annalise Keating from How to Get Away With Murder here. The Daily Planet is yet another post-game challenge for later. If you want, you can trade a Ralts for a Minccino (it's probably better to get one on Route 115) in the PokeMart. East of the PokeMart you can find characters from Castle, and MacLaren's Pub, where you can find characters from How I Met Your Mother, is east of that. Yeah, Barney's enjoying himself while his gym is blocked, and speaking of blocked, so is that back room. Outside the SW hotel is Chuck Baxter, who I think is from the show Mom. First floor has Stanley and Helen Roper from Three's Company, while the second floor has the rest of the cast. Third floor has Friends characters. You can attempt to make Walda laugh at the top floor for some customizable PC boxes.

Detour to Route 104 and head behind the back fence back into Rustboro to pick up a Lucky Egg. Clothes Over Bros is yet another location to save for the post-game.

Fisherman Ivan: Magikarp Lv25, Magikarp Lv6, Magikarp Lv7, P280

Now let's see what the ruckus is at Devon Corp. Team Truth has invaded!

Be sure to talk to the SE scientist to revive your fossils! The two scientists sitting on the sofa are salesmen. The guy on the right sells mails (all at P50, buy a Harbor Mail to take to the house in Mauville to get a Coin Case) and the guy on the left sells Poke Balls (most are P300, Luxury Ball is P200, Ultra Ball is P500, Poke Ball is P100). The kid sitting at the blueprint gives you a Premier Ball.

Before proceeding, use the Chansey near Mr. Stone. Carl is here, along with Steven! Talk to Steven and well you're not getting into a multi-battle with him on your side as he's just going to take care of a grunt. You on the other hand will challenge Carl again.

Truth Admin Carl: Donphan Lv40, Ampharos Lv40, Arcanine Lv41, P3280

So yeah same old villain speak, then you talk to Steven who actually just directs you to go to the gym, which obviously is open now. Let's just go.

Barney and crew have taken up the old Rustboro gym, don't expect much change in layout. Do expect the dominant type to be Psychic though.

Visit the Berry Master and pick up your berries, then head behind the fence to find a hidden Full Restore. The entrance to Treecko Woods is north of the pond here, so get a Treecko. A PP Max is in an empty space west of the NE berry patch. A Max Revive is in the rock east of Kindra and Ed. Pick up TM19 Giga Drain from the girl who likes Grass types; she is at the east end of the route. Nearby are Kenny, Gale, and Dewey from the film Scream. In the trees at the east end, the bottom two dead-ends have a Rare Candy and a Nugget.

Since you don't have Surf, you're not able to go to Route 122 all that much. Let's head back and take Route 119 now.

Kindler Dayton: Magcargo Lv43, Camerupt Lv43, P1376

After Dayton is what I believe to be a glitch. If you try to go north, you won't be able to proceed through the trees as an invisible thing seems to be in the way, though it's not a Kecleon or anything since it can't be interacted with. You will have to get the Mach Bike if you don't have it and use it on the aforementioned mudslide to continue.

Leave the institute and cross the bridge. If you go south, there's a path that leads south to a clump of grass. A bit NW of there you can find an Elixir. Now head up to battle Emmett.

PKMN Trainer Emmett: Shuckle Lv45, Ursaring Lv45, Umbreon Lv46, P13432 and HM02 Fly

Well he'll rush to Lilycove while telling you you should try the Fortree Gym next. After an encounter with Scott you'll have control again. Just head up to reach Fortree City.

FORTREE CITY [FORT]

Characters from Ally McBeal are in the PokeCenter. Forrest Gump is near the PokeMart. A kid inside the PokeMart wants a Mantine and will trade for a Zorua. The house near Forrest Gump has Sabrina the Teenage Witch characters. The NE house has Smash characters. The house above the gym has the two main characters from I Love Lucy. You can get TM10 Hidden Power from the granny in the next house, and can teach Sleep Talk by talking to the grandpa. The NW house has Glorificus and her minions (from Buffy). Obviously, there's a Kecleon blocking the gym entrance, so detour to Route 120 for a bit.

A Rare Candy is at the small subsection to the north of Clarissa, and there you can also see a maze-like area, which we will get to later. The actual entrance is blocked by another blue hat guard. You'll notice that a Kecleon is behind the sign nearby, and another Kecleon guards the way to the water. There's a hidden Max Revive in the tall grass, and also an opening in the clump of grass! This is a well-decorated Secret Base, but there's nothing of actual interest, and talking to the guy won't do anything. Also Gabby&Ty are here, but I recommend avoiding them if you're strictly following this walkthrough until you are around Lv56 or so.

Parasol Lady Clarissa: Ninetales Lv46, Sunflora Lv46, P1840

Go on the bridge to meet Steven, who will show you the power of the Devon Scope. After dealing with the Kecleon, you now own it (the Scope I mean). Might as well take it back with you. First go to the steps where the Secret Base is, use the scope and deal with the Kecleon, then get the Nest Ball at the water. Now get rid of the Kecleon at Fortree gym for your next gym challenge! There is also a shiny Swablu to find here too!

This is, of course, Winona's gym, so expect Flying types. Layout remains the same.

If you are thinking the Trick House has a new challenge, you're wrong, as he pretty much requires the fifth badge (and we skipped to the sixth), but of course the gym leader there is still not present. One thing I did forget was that after beating Lavaridge Gym, Mt Chimney does have new trainers to face.

First house has the main cast of Two and a Half Men. The PokeCenter has a guy who gives you TM44 Rest. A Max Repel is all the way at the SE end of town. Get the Pokeblock Case from the Lilycove Contest Hall; we can now go to the Safari Zone! And do contests if you like. Characters from the show Revenge are west of the Contest Hall, and Rebekah Mikaelson from Vampire Diaries is outside the harbor. The remaining characters are in a house east of the department store. The Halliwell manor is next door with the characters from Charmed present there. You can get a berry from the gentleman nearby, as well as a one-time battle against a Marill and a Wooper there too (they are not shinies though). The characters from Kyle XY are in the vicinity of the house to the south, as well as inside. On the beach, a Heart Scale is in the SW rock, a Max Elixir is in a rock east of the steps to the beach, and a PP Up is in the rock to the north below the Azurill. The art museum seems to be blocked off by Azumarills. Time to battle Emmett at the department store entrance.

PKMN Trainer Emmett: Shuckle Lv51, Ursaring Lv51, Azumarill Lv51, Umbreon Lv52, P15184

Emmett then says something rather confusing, apparently he thinks he can handle Team Truth while you should be getting gym badges. While that could be an agreeable statement, we are still lacking in HMs and other things necessary. He then mentions that April may have entered either the art museum or the contest hall. I think it's quite obvious where she went, since the contest hall has been open. But before we deal with the art museum, let's go check out the department store.

Well it turns out that they did get the Mystical Mirror they were looking for. Turns out they are trying to summon Darkrai in the very place all this began. Here's a big spoiler so move on to the next few paragraphs if you wanna save yourself, but Prof. Maple's disappearance happened because of Darkrai in the original Grass Jewel. Which of course happened because he tried to awaken Cresselia. And it happened in a certain meadow. April then makes some guesses as to where they could be headed. The lab in Littleroot? The oceanic museum in Slateport? Both are wrong guesses, but then she remembers what Emmett said to her about a Grass Jewel, which of course was what Maple was searching for. That was at Chikorita Meadow.

That covers Lilycove for the moment. Feel free to listen to the curator's monologue in the art room and interact with some random Pokemon there (no you cannot get Latias or Latios here). Also speak to the receptionist to get a Pretty Chair, a Pretty Desk, and a Glass Ornament. So where is Chikorita Meadow located? Yeah this place is actually very disappointing as the only places with wild mons are the NW and NE areas. The SE is devoid of tall grass and the SW area is completely locked off. I will get to the items you can find here once we get Surf.

Anyways, for those who haven't played the original Grass Jewel, the place to go is on Route 120, which is the NE part of it, near Gabby&Ty. Also if you're strong enough to beat Carl earlier, you should be good enough to beat Gabby&Ty again.

Reporter Gabby&Ty: Magneton Lv56, Exploud Lv56, P44800 and an interview

ROUTE 135 [R135]

The place that was blocked off earlier leads to a brand new route known as Route 135. Chikorita Meadow is straight ahead. If you go left, you will see trees that make the words “JEWEL”, as well as a hedge maze that leads to a section of...Seafloor Cavern? If you have a mon with Strength, you can use it to move the boulders, as well as catch some mons here, but let's not get ahead of ourselves just yet as it’s more or less empty of anything necessary. Enter Chikorita Meadow.

In the meadow, you can't go further until you press A, which will automatically trigger a cutscene. You'll go straight to Emmett and April who have found the Grass Jewel. Kinda odd though, because you can see a Team Truth Grunt nearby too. Emmett also for some reason has the Mystical Mirror, and it really does seem like Emmett is more than just an everyday rival character. He actually uses the mirror in an attempt to bring his dad back. Or actually, to summon Darkrai and send you to the Nightmare!

THE NIGHTMARE [NIGH]

This part is confusing. To proceed, go down until you can't no more, then right, then up until you can't no more, then right, then down. Rinse and repeat, and you'll soon see what appears to be Maple conversing with...Norman!? Looks like you interrupt their conversation, and Maple burns Norman by claiming he's a bad parent for leaving you in Johto. Conversations aside, you'll soon regain control. Keep going right, down, right, up, repeat. You'll eventually find Darkrai. Darkrai is going to apologize for bringing you here (and can even talk too). Darkrai will tell you to seek Cresselia, so you might as well repeat your zigzag pattern until you reach her. Interestingly, you will actually battle Cresselia here, and it is Lv56. I believe you can catch it, but it doesn't matter what happens. The cutscene shows that both Cresselia and Darkrai are willing to help you out.

You'll then teleport back to the Chikorita Meadow. Looks like both Norman and Maple have also been taken out too. Talking to April (you have to anyways, since you won't be able to do anything else) will have her surprised at this, with both Emmett and Maple fleeing. Norman is so proud of you he'll invite you to battle him at the Petalburg Gym. Anyways, you can explore this huge meadow and get a free Chikorita. One thing you should get is the free Master Ball at the north end of the meadow too!

So yes, you really ought to just fly back to Petalburg to challenge Norman. It's the best thing to do at the moment. Just walk in and you're ready to battle.

The house near the docks has I Dream of Jeannie characters. Go to the town hall to get TM36 Sludge Bomb from a guy with glasses. The house at the SE end has Bewitched characters, and there's a PokeMart clerk outside (this is because Dewford did not originally have a PokeMart). The gym is blocked off by a Wingull, but it probably isn't important, at least for now. If you surf south, you'll find Victory Island! You'll see Red there, but you do not want to battle him as he has a full team of Lv100 mons! Save him for much, much later in the game. There's a bunch of salespeople to the east though. The top two sell secret base stuff while the middle clerk sells every TM in the game. How convenient!

Before we move on to Route 107, I would like to point out that Littleroot Town actually connects to Route 107. Might as well visit home and get an Amulet Coin from your mom since you beat your dad. Have fun catching the starters in the grass patch before we move on to Route 107.

Head back to Mauville City. You'll see Wattson, yes that Wattson, asking you for help with New Mauville yet again. Why wait? He'll lend you the Basement Key so you can go back to Route 110 and go on your way.

Use the blue switch, then the green switch, ignore the next switch you come to, then go all the way east for an Ultra Ball. Go back west and pick up the Escape Rope on the blue switch, then step on it and head west (the other item here is a Voltorb). Pick up the Parlyz Heal on the green switch but do not step on it and move on (the other item here is a Voltorb). At the next set of switches, a Full Heal is on the green switch, and you will want to step on it too (the item on the blue switch is a Voltorb). At the generator, you can battle a shiny Porygon2 and get a Thunderstone. Of course, step on the generator switch to finish this sidequest. Return to Wattson to get a free TM24 Thunderbolt.

Go back to Route 119 and surf in the stream under the Weather Institute, landing on the right island near the waterfall. A hidden Max Ether is here.

On Route 120, go back to the SW pond and surf across it. Get a hidden Rare Candy and Full Heal.

In the Safari Zone, go to the NE section (requires Acro Bike) and the northernmost grass patch has a Calcium. In the NW section (requires Mach Bike) go across the pond to find TM22 Solarbeam.

Area with ice tiles accessible via low tide: Lapras, Swinub, Snorunt, Delibird, Sneasel

Despite the name change the layout is the same as Shoal Cave. The old man who makes a Shell Bell can make one if you collect four Poke Salts (low tide) and four Poke Shells (high tide), so he's the same as before. Of course, you can buy these in Lilycove's Department store, so there's not much point really. If it's high tide, enter the second area (where the Poke Shells are) and collect a Rare Candy. Take the SE ladder there to head back and collect a Big Pearl.

On low tide, go down two floors to an area with a Poke Salt, lots of Azurills, and an Ice Heal, then continue on. After crossing two bridges, head down again then get the Focus Band from the black belt. You'll need Strength to access the final chamber. Down here, you have a chance of catching a shiny Lv60 Lapras! TM07 Hail is next to it. Get the Nevermeltice and feel free to catch some ice mons down here before we move on. We'll be going through the water routes in numerical order starting with Route 127.

A black belt at the beach will teach Dynamicpunch. Also yeah, that's an Eevee blocking Steven's house. The house below has characters from Brothers & Sisters. Get a King's Rock from the guy outside. The other house here has two characters from Dexter. Sadly, the gym leader is out at the moment, based off of what this guy says. You will see Team Truth going off to the east, follow them! Get a Net Ball at the SE end while you do. Some Marvel characters are in the house under the space center, while characters from Eastwick inhabit a house to the west of that (and also the main cast is outside). I think it's obvious we need to stop Team Truth in the Space Center, so let's have a go.

First off, get a Sun Stone from the sailor.

And now it's time for the game's multi-battle. Of course, Steven will be here as usual (sadly his team is gonna be underleveled and unchanged for this), and you will team up with him vs. Maple and his son Emmett.

PKMN Prof. Maple: Tropius Lv64, Azumarill Lv64, Blissey Lv65, double battle with below

PKMN Trainer Emmett: Shuckle Lv64, Ursaring Lv64, Umbreon Lv65, P24180

Whatever that device they’re talking about was, it looks like they activated it despite our efforts. Their next destination just so happens to be Sootopolis City. Of course, we don't have Dive yet, nor the gym badge for it. But wait, Steven is the gym leader of Mossdeep now! We're going to have to battle him to get our much-needed HM.

Oh yeah, I should mention that the weather will be the rain/sun combination from now on unless you leave this area (like before Lilycove) or solve this conflict (which of course means getting to Sootopolis, but of course you got a gym to deal with!). And also, the gym sign now says the leader is Steven; it didn't say that before. Anyways, be prepared to battle not just Steel types, but Psychic types too.

He will then ask you to meet him at his house, in which the Eevee is no longer blocking the way. Go there and he'll give you HM08 Dive. Time for backtracking. Yeah, saving the world can wait for now.

DIVE BACKTRACKING [DIVE]

At some point Prof. Pine will tell you about a large green Pokemon flying near Pacifidlog. We know what this is about, and we're sidequesting at the moment. First off, let's not start diving and instead go to the next Trick House challenge. Examine the right side of the cupboard. A Glitter Mail can be acquired here. A Magnet is your prize.

PKMN Ranger Sophia: Dedenne Lv69, Togedemaru Lv69, P3588

PKMN Ranger Sebastian: Tropius Lv69, P3588

Bird Keeper Benny: Gligar Lv68, Noctowl Lv68, Skarmory Lv69, P2208

Now let's go diving. The only route with mons to find while diving is Route 124, as Route 126 is devoid of seaweed. We'll take a look at Route 124 while going from Lilycove City.

Mons found:

Relicanth: 64%

Chinchou: 30%

Clamperl: 6%

The first diving spot has the majority of seaweed. A space at the south end has a hidden Green Shard. Head to the spot east of that, dive down, and head down and east when you can. The empty space here has a Carbos. Head down again, but do not resurface here since it's a dead end. Go west and surface there, then head east to get a Blue Shard. Backtrack to the main route and head east to the next diving spot. Inspect the dark spot to get a Heart Scale. Head all the way north and to the lighted area to find a dark spot with a Calcium. Again, don't surface there, but instead head all the way west, surface there, then head east for a Red Shard. Go back and SE of there to see three diving spots. Dive in the easternmost one and pick up a Big Pearl, then go SE again and dive there for a Heart Scale. Back to the three diving spots and dive at the southernmost one. From there surface at the other end, surf and dive at the other end, then surface again to find a Green Shard and a house (you're technically in a section of Route 126). An Azumarill blocks the house, so ignore it for now and head back to Route 124. Now head north of the Treasure Hunter's house to find two diving spots. The north one has a Pearl. Now head north of those and dive at the next spot, surface at the next spot, and head west to get a Yellow Shard.

Route 126 has no seaweed, but in the main circle you can find an Ultra Ball (north end), a Stardust (NE side), an Iron and a Big Pearl (near Sootopolis entrance), and a Heart Scale (NW enclave). Surface at the NW end and you can find a diving spot and another trainer.

Swimmer Brenda: Lapras Lv68, P544

The diving spot here has a Yellow Shard and a Pearl. The last diving spot is in the SW side of the route, and even though it's a dead end, there's a hidden Blue Shard there.

We're going to ignore Sootopolis for the moment and head east to Route 127. Dive at the first trench you see and head to the rock at the north end to find a Star Piece. Head to the big trench, dive down, and head south for a Heart Scale in a rock. Before heading to Route 128, head back north and NE, then dive in the trench east of the big one to find an HP Up in a rock. Surface near the island with the three fishermen then go east and surf to the next trench. Dive there and pick up a Red Shard from the rock.

In Route 128, get to the reef where Seafloor Cavern's entrance is and dive in the middle. Pick up the Protein from the rock, then surface and head east (yes, you can enter Seafloor Cavern if you wish, but there's actually nothing important in this place in this hack). Dive at the separate trench here and pick up a Pearl from the rock.

Now let’s check out the Abandoned Ship’s diving section. On the other side, of course, is six rooms. Enter Rm. 3 and inspect the NE corner for the Rm. 1 Key. Enter Rm. 1 and inspect a spot above the hole to the left to get the Rm. 4 key. Also pick up TM18 Rain Dance. In Rm. 4, the Rm. 6 Key is in the NW trash can. Pick up a Luxury Ball in Rm. 6, then enter Rm. 5 to the left. The Rm. 2 Key is south of the trash cans. Rm. 2 will of course have the Scanner. Unfortunately this item doesn’t have much use, since Stern will not be at the Slateport shipyard and you can buy the Deepseatooth and Deepseascale in the Lilycove department store anyways.

You might think that the Sealed Chamber would be available now that you have Dive. Sadly, an invisible thing is in front of the Dig entrance, which can't even be identified with the Devon Scope. That's it for Dive backtracking at the moment. For now, let's get to Sootopolis City to see what's going on there.

SOOTOPOLIS CITY [SOOT]

When you enter, you'll immediately see Kyogre and Groudon in that familiar scene. Anyways, people are witnessing this event happening which means several locations are blocked off, so go to the PokeCenter and use it as needed (talk to a black belt inside to get TM31 Brick Break, as well as a girl at the same table to learn Double-edge. And talk to the lady at the NW to get a free Wailmer Doll). You'll notice that Sootopolis' gym leader is Evan, the former leader of Team Dream from the original Grass Jewel. He's too shell-shocked that a familiar event is happening though, which means he's not going to challenge you right now. Pine is also here, but you obviously need to talk to Steven, who's at the west end. He'll of course take you to the Cave of Origin. We need to find Wallace.

CAVE OF ORIGIN [ORIG]

Mons found: Zubat, Gastly, Murkrow, Misdreavus, Sableye, Mawile. Shuppet, Duskull

Just go through the linear path to find Wallace. Answer Sky Pillar and he’ll meet you there. You should already know where this is by now, and if you’ve followed this guide, Pacifidlog is a Fly away.

SKY PILLAR [SKYP]

Mons found (after first visit): Banette, Dusclops, Claydol, Mawile, Sableye, Altaria

Surf to Route 131 and enter. Wallace apparently noticed that the door was already unlocked. The weather will of course spread here. As you enter, guess what, Team Truth grunts are here! The two at the top are the ones to battle first, the other two don't battle.

Team Truth Grunt: Gligar Lv70, Quagsire Lv70, Donphan Lv70, P2800

Team Truth Grunt: Granbull Lv70, Stantler Lv70, Lickitung Lv70, P2800

Truth Admin Carl: Donphan Lv73, Ampharos Lv73, Torkoal Lv73, Bellossom Lv73, Lapras Lv73, Arcanine Lv74, P5920

Team Truth will leave after you beat Carl. Go up the steps and awaken Rayquaza. You might as well just fly back to Sootopolis now.

SOOTOPOLIS CITY (revisited) [SOO2]

Back in Sootopolis, witness the all-too familiar scene play out. Obviously, talk to the people here, particularly Evan who mentions that he was the one who drove Maple away, as well as Pine. When they both leave, you can talk to Steven and Wallace, as well as get HM07 Waterfall. Wallace will then move out of the way so we can challenge Evan.

But first, we might as well explore the rest of Sootopolis. While you can't go to the right side thanks to the people still sitting there, the houses at the west side have opened their doors. The SW house has Alice Vaughan and Benjamin Jones from Smoke & Mirrors. Another house has Laverne & Shirley characters, while another has Max, Niles, and Fran from The Nanny.

Before we enter the gym, there's a couple loose ends to take on. First, go to Route 104 and enter the Clothes Over Bros. There's several items to get here, including a Silk Scarf, a Red Scarf, a Blue Scarf, and a Yellow Scarf. All of these items respawn, and you can interact with One Tree Hill characters here. Brooke Davis in the back is a trainer with Lv100 mons. We'll get to her later.

You can of course catch Rayquaza Lv70 any time on Sky Pillar. Bring your Mach Bike.

Sootopolis' gym is the same layout, but for those that remember, Evan as the former Team Dream leader was a user of Fairy types, and still is, so expect to fight those mons as you go.

WATERFALL BACKTRACKING [WATF]

Yep, we've got more backtracking to do. First off, the rest of Sootopolis is now accessible. You can first talk to Kiri on the west side for two berries. On the east side, the first house has the main couple from Veronica Mars. The Lotad and Seedot brothers are in the next house. The house past that has Lee, Bree, and Bob from Desperate Housewives. That's about it here.

Next stop, let's tackle yet another Trick House challenge. Find the guy in the right window. Get a Tropic Mail while here. A PP Max is your reward.

Psychic Joshua: Alakazam Lv78, Solrock Lv78, double battle with below

Hex Maniac Patricia: Gengar Lv78, Lunatone Lv78, P3744

You could scale a waterfall in Route 119, but there will be guards blocking the way.

Go to Route 114 and scale the waterfall there, then land. There is a hidden Max Revive somewhere there.

Now go to Meteor Falls. Scale the big waterfall, then head up into the cave. Go down the next ladder you come to, then head to the SW and take that ladder to get TM23 Iron Head. Go back and take the north ladder.

Miltank Lv80, Focus Punch, Pay Day, Cross Chop, Meteor Mash

Dragon Tamer Nicolas: Altaria Lv80, Dragonite Lv80, P3840, registered in PokeNav

Hop the puddles and get to the SW ladder. Surf when you get to the water, but do not enter the cave you see unless you're prepared to fight a double battle with Lv100 mons. We’ll get there later. Surf all the way south to get a PP Up. You're done here. We should just go to Ever Grande City and scale the large waterfall there.

Even though Evan chased Maple away and you saved the world and all, Maple however seems to have another loophole up his sleeve, and he is trying to beat the Pokemon League now. He thinks that if he wins, he will have everyone look up to him and all! It's time to battle him yet again.

While he's still ever-so-confident, Darkrai suddenly shows up behind him! You'll then see Darkrai and Maple disappear, with only Darkrai smiling at you. Hmm... In any case, leave Victory Road (pick up a Rare Candy at the exit) and get yourself ready to battle the Elite Four and the Champion of the Hoenn League.

HOENN LEAGUE [LEAG]

The Elite Four will be the same four people, however I should mention that their mons' levels will be in the 90s range, and that the highest-leveled mon of one team will be the lowest-leveled mon of the subsequent team. The champion will have shiny Pokemon and one will be Lv100!

A Full Restore is in front of the final door. And the champion, well...you remember a trainer whom you met multiple times but never battled, right? That trainer is none other than April! Yep, she is the champion in this game, I guess after Barney Stinson decided to step down and become a gym leader or something (not to mention Steven being a gym leader too, as well as Wallace not being champion either) as well as your brother (the protagonist of Grass Jewel 1) not present someone had to fill in.

Champion April: P40000

Chikorita Lv98, Un-Pay Day, Giga Drain, Flamethrower, Sacred Fire, holds Leftovers

Furret Lv99 (shiny), Headbutt, Rock Slide, Pixie Kick, Waterfall, holds Quick Claw

Arcanine Lv99 (shiny), Extremespeed, Sacred Fire, Thunder, Earthquake, holds Charcoal

Azumarill Lv99 (shiny), Pay Day, Pixie Kick, Waterfall, Rock Slide, holds Mystic Water

Togekiss Lv99 (shiny), Air Slash, Pixie Kick, Blizzard, Rock Slide, holds Quick Claw

Mew Lv100 (shiny), Silver Wind, Psychic, Un-Pay Day, Sheer Cold, holds Coffee

And would you guess who shows up first to greet you? Not Emmett, oh no, it's actually Wally! The Littleroot music even plays. Also Pine shows up too. As you enter the HoF room, April then reveals that Pine just so happens to be her uncle! HoF, credits roll, time for the post game of Grass Jewel 2!

POST GAME [POST]

Go downstairs and the first person to greet you is...your dad Norman! He gives you something from a government agent named Phil Coulson. Wait, for real? Yes, it looks like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will play a part in this post-game. Well, it is actually the S.S. Ticket that you receive. You'll then get to choose the color of the mon you saw on TV. Leave the house and you'll see Pine and Emmett, then you'll all go to the lab. He'll upgrade the dexes, but since we already have a national upgrade, what will it be this time? The answer, GPS settings! I don't really think it has any bearing whatsoever. Also a short distance after you do this, Scott will of course contact you about showing you the Battle Frontier, which we'll get to at some point. But in any case, let's go do a lot of post-game stuff!

Our first stop will actually be the final Trick House challenge. Find the guy under the SW chair. A Bead Mail is in the NW corner. Your reward is a choice between a Red Tent and a Blue Tent.

Cooltrainer Keira: Furret Lv100, Cinccino Lv100, P20000

Cooltrainer Cal: Meganium Lv100, Typhlosion Lv100, Feraligatr Lv100, P20000

Cooltrainer Vincent: Togekiss Lv100, Lapras Lv100, P20000

The color of the mon you saw on TV earlier will of course be Latias/Latios Lv40 and be a roaming legendary. You can ignore the one you saw for later, because there will be trainers that have this mon later that can help you find them.

Go back to the Weather Institute and chat with the head researcher to get the location of Groudon Lv70 and Kyogre Lv70.

Go back to Steven's house in Mossdeep to find a free Beldum, which is nice for those who are unable to get one from Liberty Cavern.

The Pokemon Trainer Fan Club in Lilycove will give you some fanservice if you enter it. There'll be people at the top floor of Cove Lily Motel too.

The Safari Zone has been extended further east. However, only one section is available, the new NE section. The SE section is off-limits in this game.

Head to the rocky area at the north end and inspect the spot that juts north to find a hidden Zinc. The item below the smashable rocks is a Nugget.

Since we're in the area, we can go ahead and board the S.S. Tidal. Might as well check out what Scott's talking about too!

S.S. TIDAL [TIDA]

So when checking out the trainers here, you'll actually be surprised that two of the cabins have gym leaders! In other words Tate&Liza and Juan are in cabins 1 and 4, respectively. Anyways aside from battling don't forget the Leftovers in the basement as well as resting in cabin 2. That being said, there is a man in your cabin, Phil Coulson himself. He wants you to help with defeating Hydra, and it seems they've been spotted at the former Team Dream Hideout in Lilycove. That's our next destination it seems! The Battle Frontier will be unlocked after your first voyage too by the way.

Leader Tate&Liza: Slowking Lv100, Claydol Lv100, Gardevoir Lv100, Gallade Lv100, Solrock Lv100, Lunatone Lv100, P60000

Sailor Phillip: Pelipper Lv95, Feraligatr Lv95, P3040

Sailor Leonard: Hitmonlee Lv95, Hitmonchan Lv95, Hitmontop Lv95, P3040

Interestingly, you can rematch Juan anytime (and can even decline his challenge if you're not up to it), but you can't decline Tate&Liza and it doesn't seem like you can rematch those two.

LEADER/BRAIN BATTLES [BRAI]

Anyways, while we can infiltrate the former Dream Hideout at the moment, those former gym leaders sure caught my eye! Since Flannery, Norman, and Winona have kept their positions as leaders and we just found Tate&Liza and Juan on the S.S. Tidal, does this mean we can battle the former gym leaders here too. The answer is yes! Yes you can! Let's first start with Roxanne, whom we've at least seen already now as a teacher at the school. She will now battle you since you're the champion.

Leader Roxanne: P30000

Tyranitar Lv100, Rock Slide, Crunch, Earthquake, Meteor Mash, holds Blackglasses

Aerodactyl Lv100, Rock Slide, Earthquake, Meteor Mash, Drill Peck, holds Hard Stone

Steelix Lv100, Rock Slide, Meteor Mash, Earthquake, Brick Break, holds Metal Coat

Nosepass Lv100, Rock Slide, Earthquake, Meteor Mash, Brick Break, holds Smoothie

And you can rematch her anytime. Unfortunately, you don't see Brawly in Dewford or Wattson in Mauville, so that concludes this somewhat brief aside. With that aside, there's a few new NPCs in many of the towns who say "HAIL HYDRA!". They don't do anything else, and can be found in most of the big cities. With this said, there's still more new battles to face! Let's start with the frontier brains scattered throughout Hoenn. Yes, these will be very, very difficult, but we might as well face them now! All of the frontier brains are double battles too. Let's start with the only one in Slateport, which is Noland, at the market. All of his mons hold a Leftovers by the way.

I don't know if those money values are legit, but in any case, the next stop is Mossdeep, where we can find Lucy and Brandon at the east side of the city. As usual, all of their mons have Leftovers.

A forced double battle with Johto's champion as well as final gym leader, the tag team known as Lance and Clair! Be careful, all of their mons have the Quick Claw held item!

Had fun with the uber trainers? Well, there's more to find at the Battle Frontier of course. That being said, you can fight indefinitely at the battle facilities, but there's a few side bits that could definitely be worth mentioning.

BATTLE FRONTIER [BATF]

A woman at the PokeCenter can trade you a Pachirisu if you have a Seel. The television hall to the east is interesting; you can watch Seinfeld, History of the World Part I, Frozen, Ratatouille, The Lion King, Blazing Saddles, and The Avengers (from left to right in between a bunch of non-TV stuff). There is an interesting house with Molly Weasley from Harry Potter at the east side, but we'll hold off on this until later. The house next to the Battle Tower is where you can battle against the playtesters of Grass Jewel 2.

While running around the Battle Frontier, you may have noticed what looks like Anabel and Tucker again on the right side of the Battle Tower. We'll get to these two much later on. You of course may be tempted to check out the Artisan Cave section, so you might as well wake the Sudowoodo up and surf that way. But you'll notice two familiar faces, the dual champions Steven and Wallace! Look out, all of their mons have the Quick Claw held item.

Champion Wallace: double battle with below

Wailord Lv100, Un-Pay Day, Aeroblast, Hydro Pump, Blizzard

Lapras Lv100, Un-Pay Day, Blizzard, Hydro Pump, Thunder

Milotic Lv100, Un-Pay Day, Moonblast, Hydro Pump, Blizzard

Champion Steven: P80000

Skarmory Lv100, Pay Day, Rock Slide, Aeroblast, Meteor Mash

Aggron Lv100, Pay Day, Meteor Mash, Rock Slide, Megahorn

Metagross Lv100, Pay Day, Rock Slide, Meteor Mash, Psychic

Too bad we can't go any further into Artisan Cave thanks to the Meowth doll in the way. But what's that side area that Molly Weasley is at? Let's check it out and all of a sudden, we've traveled via Floo network to Hogwarts!

HOGWARTS [HOGW]

So I'm gonna guess and say the stuff below is the Quidditch field. To the east is a hut (most likely Hagrid's), but it's locked, and I'm guessing the path to the south is the Forbidden Forest. If you follow the linear path, you'll come to a bag with a stone in it. If you use the stone, the next wild Pokemon encounter you come to will be a guaranteed shiny. Of course, you can only use this once, so you might want to save this for later. Hogwarts of course is at the north end here, and there's nothing to do outside, so let's see what's inside. Well, the inside is grand but only five people are here (Dumbledore, Mcgonagall, Colin Creevey, Luna Lovegood, and Ginny Weasley). Four classrooms are at the north end. From left to right you'll find Snape's class (Harry, Draco, Crabbe, and Goyle are here too), Gilderoy Lockhart's class (with Fred, George, and some unnamed student), Flitwick's class (with Hermione, Ron, and another unnamed student), and Pomona Sprout's class (with Neville, Seamus, and an unnamed student). Anyways, that's it here. Just seems like an expository to put more Harry Potter characters it seems. I think we've put off the plot to help Coulson far enough. To Lilycove and the former Team Dream Hideout!

DREAM HIDEOUT [DREA]

The first Hydra agent you see isn't a trainer, but the next two agents are arranged for a possible double battle right before the first set of steps.

Hydra Agent: Pelipper Lv95, Huntail Lv95, Gorebyss Lv95, P5700

Hydra Agent: Kingdra Lv95, Mantine Lv95, Feraligatr Lv95, P5700

After taking the steps, take the left teleporter, as the right teleporter does not lead you anywhere.

Hydra Agent: Houndoom Lv95, Wobbuffet Lv95, P5700

Hydra Agent: Mightyena Lv95, Cacturne Lv95, Persian Lv95, P5700

Hydra Agent: Delcatty Lv95, Shiftry Lv95, Crawdaunt Lv95, P5700

Do not take the teleporter at the SW, or you'll warp back to the beginning. Take the SE teleporter and continue via the stairs.

Hydra Agent: P5700

Sharpedo Lv95, Waterfall, Crunch, Rock Slide, Earthquake

Take the teleporter on the right, as the left leads to a dead end.

Hydra Agent: P5700

Zoroark Lv95, Crunch, Fire Blast, Thunder, Blizzard

Hydra Agent: P5700

Umbreon Lv95, Crunch, Cosmic Power, Moonlight, Bulk Up

Hydra Agent: P5700

Sableye Lv95, Shadow Ball, Shadow Ball, Cross Chop, Sludge Bomb

Tyranitar Lv95, Rock Slide, Earthquake, Crunch, Leaf Blade

Hydra Agent: Spinda Lv95, Misdreavus Lv95, Murkrow Lv95, P5700

Hydra Agent: P5700

Absol Lv95, Psychic, Crunch, Pixie Kick, Megahorn

Ursaring Lv95, Pay Day, Cross Chop, Crunch, Rock Slide

When you get to the teleporter maze, take the left teleporter, then the one to your left twice. At the bottom, take the leftmost teleporter to get to the main office. You'll see someone at the desk, but what about the stuff there? Obviously it hasn't changed from the original, you get two Electrode encounters (both at Lv70), a Nugget, and a Master Ball. The someone at the desk just so happens to be Tyler. Turns out he's some kind of double agent who put Hydra ahead of Team Truth.

Truth Seeker Tyler: Dunsparce Lv95, Donphan Lv96, Sudowoodo Lv96, Mantine Lv96, Wobbuffet Lv96, Ampharos Lv97, P1940

Tyler will of course figure out you're looking for his boss Maple. It seems he's in Seafloor Cavern, so you sort of just missed him. By the way, you of course would have entered Seafloor Cavern before if you explored Route 135, but there was absolutely nothing interesting inside then. Now, you're of course going up against those pesky Team Truth grunts once again.

SEAFLOOR CAVERN [SEAF]

Mons found: Zubat, Dunsparce, Poliwag, Slowpoke, Psyduck, Diglett, Misdreavus

If you entered from the Route 135 entrance, use Strength to move the boulders.

Team Truth Grunt: Ninetales Lv96, Sunflora Lv96, Tropius Lv96, P3840

Team Truth Grunt: Victreebel Lv96, Vileplume Lv96, Bellossom Lv96, P3840

GLITCH: If you entered from the Route 135 entrance, if you use Dig/Escape Rope for a quick exit, you will be at the Dive entrance.

If you came in from the Dive entrance, you'll first be seeing Hydra agents again.

Hydra Agent: Torkoal Lv96, P5760

Hydra Agent: Gligar Lv96, Shedinja Lv96, P5760

Hydra Agent: Mightyena Lv96, Houndoom Lv96, P5760

There's a number of ways to go at this point, but the way to go is to enter the middle cave in the water room with currents. This is a dead-end room but it has both Carl and another grunt.

Team Truth Grunt: Donphan Lv96, Girafarig Lv96, P3840

Truth Admin Carl: P7920

Donphan Lv97, Rock Slide, Meteor Mash, Earthquake, Pay Day, holds Soft Sand

Ampharos Lv98, Thunder, Dragon Claw, Blizzard, Aeroblast, holds Magnet

Torkoal Lv98, Fire Blast, Earthquake, Rock Slide, Hydro Pump, holds Charcoal

Lapras Lv98, Hydro Pump, Blizzard, Thunder, Aeroblast, holds Mystic Water

Bellossom Lv98, Giga Drain, Fire Blast, Aeroblast, Blizzard, holds Miracle Seed

Arcanine Lv99, Sacred Fire, Pay Day, Thunder, Earthquake, holds Charcoal

Carl is the one you have to battle to proceed with this goose chase. They seem to be trying to awaken a certain mon that can form land, sounding an awful lot like a certain Regigigas perhaps? Anyways, we're now directed to go to Mt Pyre, so let's go there.

MT PYRE (revisited) [PYR2]

Last time we were here, a gentleman was blocking the steps and we were not able to do anything but catch mons in the main room. Now, we can take the steps, which leads to the summit path. No grass patches or wild mons here though. On the path, pick up TM48 Skill Swap, a Max Potion, and then check the orange tombstones on the left side for a Max Ether and an Ultra Ball. And of course, prepare to battle more Team Truth Grunts at the summit.

Team Truth Grunt: Quagsire Lv96, P3840

Team Truth Grunt: Politoed Lv96, Ludicolo Lv96, Kingdra Lv96, double battle with below

Team Truth Grunt: Mantine Lv96, Huntail Lv96, Gorebyss Lv96, P7680

Team Truth Grunt: Donphan Lv96, Wobbuffet Lv96, Ursaring Lv96, P3840

Before you go further, head west from the last grunt to get a Zinc from the orange tombstone. If you had the last grunt go towards the center, you can go behind him and inspect another orange tombstone for a Rare Candy (or you can just get it when the grunts all leave). Turns out that's Emmett there, who'll head past you, apparently off to find the Meteors. He only just notices you, but doesn't bother to confront you then. What could he mean by the "meteors"? Well, is there a certain place that is named for meteors? If you caught on, you know where we're going next!

METEOR FALLS (revisited) [MET2]

So we need to go to that cave past the waterfall again. Notice the new entrance to the left (where you got TM23 Iron Head before). Go to the next ladder, and you'll soon see a grunt as you head SW, telling you this has to be where we gotta go.

Team Truth Grunt: Stantler Lv97, Wobbuffet Lv97, P3880

Time to enter this new chamber. Do note you can catch the Kanto fossil mons here.

Team Truth Grunt: Togetic Lv97, Ampharos Lv97, P3880

Team Truth Grunt: Gligar Lv97, Sudowoodo Lv97, P3880

Team Truth Grunt: Murkrow Lv97, Misdreavus Lv97, Quagsire Lv97, Azumarill Lv97, P3880

Team Truth Grunt: Tyranitar Lv97 (holds Hard Stone), Aerodactyl Lv97 (holds Hard Stone), Skarmory Lv97 (holds Metal Coat), Steelix Lv97 (holds Metal Coat), Donphan Lv97 (holds Soft Sand), P3880

Looks like we caught up to Emmett and Maple now. Talking to Maple reveals that they do mention about the meteor fragment, and about Dewford of all places now. You will end up battling Emmett here, but not Maple.

PKMN Trainer Emmett: P29200

Shuckle Lv99: Pay Day, Rock Slide, Silver Wind, Meteor Mash, holds Hard Stone

Ursaring Lv99, Extremespeed, Brick Break, Crunch, Rock Slide, holds Silk Scarf

Blissey Lv99, Pay Day, Moonblast, Aeroblast, Blizzard, holds Silk Scarf

Azumarill Lv99, Waterfall, Ice Punch, Pixie Kick, Extremespeed, holds Mystic Water

Cinccino Lv99, Headbutt, Astonish, Pixie Kick, Rock Slide, holds Quick Claw

Umbreon Lv100, Pay Day, Crunch, Psychic, Recover, holds Leftovers

They will of course leave. You will have to remember that they did mention Dewford as their next destination. Specifically, they mean the Granite Cave.

GRANITE CAVE (revisited) [GRA2]

Again, the last time you were here this cave contained nothing special other than a place to catch mons. And again, you will find grunts around here. Your goal is to get to the area where Steven would normally be, which is the SW cave. Grunts will not be present on the floor that has breakable rocks, so just head west to the SW cave.

Team Truth Grunt: Kangaskhan Lv98, Tauros Lv98, Miltank Lv98, P3920

Team Truth Grunt: Gligar Lv98, Sudowoodo Lv98, Ampharos Lv98, P3920

Team Truth Grunt: Girafarig Lv98, Wobbuffet Lv98, Noctowl Lv98, P3920

Team Truth Grunt: P3920

Stantler Lv98, Pay Day, Cross Chop, Un-Pay Day, Rock Slide

Ursaring Lv98, Pay Day, Rock Slide, Crunch, Pixie Kick

Team Truth Grunt: Dunsparce Lv98, Houndoom Lv98, P3920

Welp, it's Carl again. Thought we would have a final showdown with Maple, didn't you? Anyways, it seems that it was Emmett who started Team Truth according to Carl. With Maple back in Hoenn though, Carl is feeling less content about things. He's not happy about Maple, though he respected his son's wishes. In any case, let's battle him again.

Truth Admin Carl: P8000

Donphan Lv99, Rock Slide, Meteor Mash, Earthquake, Pay Day, holds Soft Sand

Ampharos Lv99, Thunder, Dragon Claw, Blizzard, Aeroblast, holds Magnet

Torkoal Lv99, Fire Blast, Earthquake, Rock Slide, Hydro Pump, holds Charcoal

Lapras Lv99, Hydro Pump, Blizzard, Thunder, Aeroblast, holds Mystic Water

Bellossom Lv99, Giga Drain, Fire Blast, Aeroblast, Blizzard, holds Miracle Seed

Arcanine Lv100, Sacred Fire, Pay Day, Thunder, Earthquake, holds Charcoal

In other words, Carl just finished what he came to do, to help out Emmett and find the truth. He finds the rest of Maple's plan pointless, so he's retiring from the group. But before you go, he gives you the Magma Emblem. It seems that we need to go to the former Team Magma Hideout, now known as Magma Cavern, in order to find out the final phase of Maple's master plan!

MAGMA CAVERN [MAGM]

Mons found: Geodude, Graveler, Torkoal

Make your way back to Jagged Pass and the Magma Emblem will open up the middle cave. The layout will be the same, the trainers will however be different. Don't feel surprised when you see Hydra agents mixed in!

Hydra Agent: Zoroark Lv99, P5940

Team Truth Grunt: Donphan Lv99, P3960

Hydra Agent: Crawdaunt Lv99, Houndoom Lv99, P5940

Hydra Agent: Mightyena Lv99, P5940

Hydra Agent: Ursaring Lv99, Tyranitar Lv99, P5940

Team Truth Grunt: Sudowoodo Lv99, P3960

Try the south path first to find a Rare Candy at the end of the path above the first area, then head back and take the cave near the last grunt. Head all the way north first to pick up a Full Restore.

Team Truth Grunt: Politoed Lv99, double battle with below

Team Truth Grunt: Kingdra Lv99, P7920

Pick up a Max Elixir to the north as you move on.

Team Truth Grunt: Azumarill Lv99, P3960

Team Truth Grunt: Ampharos Lv99, P3960

Team Truth Grunt: Girafarig Lv99, P3960

Team Truth Grunt: Sunflora Lv99, P3960

Pick up a Nugget along the way. We're almost to Maple.

Team Truth Grunt: Ninetales Lv99, Sunflora Lv99, Shiftry Lv99, Victreebel Lv99, Vileplume Lv99, Bellossom Lv99, P3960

Team Truth Grunt: Poliwrath Lv99, Ludicolo Lv99, Kingdra Lv99, double battle with below

Team Truth Grunt: Politoed Lv99, Huntail Lv99, Gorebyss Lv99, P7920

Truth Seeker Tyler: P2000

Dunsparce Lv99, Pay Day, Un-Pay Day, Brick Break, Aeroblast, holds Silk Scarf

Donphan Lv100, Pay Day, Earthquake, Rock Slide, Pixie Kick, holds Soft Sand

Sudowoodo Lv100, Rock Slide, Meteor Mash, Brick Break, Pay Day, holds Hard Stone

Mantine Lv100, Hydro Pump, Blizzard, Aeroblast, Un-Pay Day, holds Mystic Water

Wobbuffet Lv100, Destiny Bond, Mirror Coat, Counter, Perish Song, holds Smoothie

Ampharos Lv100, Thunder, Dragon Claw, Aeroblast, Earthquake, holds Magnet

A Max Revive is on the path to the end. Time to confront Emmett and Maple again. They want to blow up the volcano! And they are doing so to awaken an ancient Pokemon. You'll see a blue glow and it seems that Maple is wondering if sealed chambers have been opened up. Not to mention a message saying that a door opened up far away (which is actually the message used when you solve the Sealed Chamber puzzle). In any case, Maple then notices you and namedrops Regigigas (but you probably guessed it was that mon) and now it's time to battle Maple.

PKMN Prof. Maple: P8000

Tropius Lv100, Pay Day, Giga Drain, Sacred Fire, Aeroblast, holds Miracle Seed

Togekiss Lv100, Blizzard, Rock Slide, Air Slash, Pixie Kick, holds Quick Claw

Azumarill Lv100, Pixie Kick, Extremespeed, Waterfall, Rock Slide, holds Mystic Water

Porygon-Z Lv100, Tri-Attack, Blizzard, Fire Blast, Thunder, holds Smoothie

Blissey Lv100, Blizzard, Softboiled, Moonblast, Un-Pay Day, holds Leftovers

Oh wow, he used C4 to unlock the chambers. And he'll boast about being the best and to go after Regigigas, but surprise, Coulson appears! We weren't working for the foreign government, but interestingly enough, it was Emmett who gave Coulson the tip! A surprising betrayal, that's for sure. He wanted his father back, but Maple sure wasn't a true dad to Emmett. Anyways, we're done in this dump, and Coulson will of course take Maple away, likely the last we'll see of him. Before using an Escape Rope, you can pick up an extra one by taking the cave entrance there.

SEALED CHAMBERS [SEAL]

So what now? Well, we might want to try searching for those legendary golems! We're near Route 111's desert, so might as well enter the now-open Desert Ruins. The instructions for opening the chamber are the same, so left two, down two, then Rock Smash. Here's your chance at Regirock Lv75.

Next stop, Route 105 and the Island Cave. Again, the directions are the same as before. Walk around the perimeter of the room and the cave will open, allowing you the chance of getting Regice Lv75.

Finally the Ancient Tomb on Route 120. I shouldn't have to tell you this but it's still the same. Use Flash in the middle, which is probably the only use of Flash in this game, to find Registeel Lv75.

But wait, Regigigas has to be out there somewhere! Since we know Maple won't be around, where do you think it would be? The answer is the original Sealed Chamber on Route 134. Bring your mons with Dive and Dig. If you went here earlier there would have been an invisible thing blocking the way that you couldn't remove. Now, you can go up and use Dig to go through. Don't worry about anything else in the room you come to, your prize is right in the middle: Regigigas Lv80!

GLITCH: Because Regigigas is a mon that isn't in the dex, it may show up as already owned. This goes for a number of mons which may have been caught that aren't in the dex as well.

LEADER/MASTER BATTLES PART 2 [LEAD]

Anyways, finishing up the Magma Cavern segment has also brought several trainers to several locations. One of whom is Brawly, who's just sitting outside Dewford gym! Or his former gym. A storm came through, and a master trainer took over here recently. In any case, you can battle Brawly here.

Leader Brawly: P30000

Let’s ignore the gym for now. Let's fly to Mauville to see if Wattson wants a challenge. The answer is yes, but he's at the Game Corner if you're actually looking for him.

That's it for former gym leaders! Of course, you're welcome to battling them anytime. But are there any other possible battles to go for? How about back in Meteor Falls? The chamber where we battled Emmett has an area off to the NW, and no one was there before. However, Carl is back there. We can challenge him again, this time in a friendly match!

Minun Lv100 (shiny), Thunderbolt, Earthquake, Un-Pay Day, Drain Punch, Scope Lens

So who's our lucky gym leader of Dewford this time around? Apparently, it's Eric, an elite trainer who you could battle multiple times in the original Grass Jewel. This is the only time you battle him with the Leader title, though. We’ll be seeing more of him later in the rom hack.

Leader Eric: P30000, Mythic Badge, TM01 Pay Day

Azurill Lv100, Pay Day, Waterfall, Pixie Kick, Meteor Mash, holds Silk Scarf

Latios Lv100 (shiny), Psychic, Luster Purge, Hydro Pump, Fire Blast, holds Soul Dew

Beating Eric will allow you to rematch any of the trainers who you battled to get here, including Eric himself! They again use shinies. Note that the forced double battles are now single battles, so you get to battle the rest of the trainers' mons. Here they are for convenience.

For Nicholas, in addition to Sceptile, Umbreon, and Darkrai mentioned above (all have Leftovers):

Gengar Lv100, Un-Pay Day, Night Shade, Crunch, Sludge Bomb

Azumarill Lv100, Moonblast, Hydro Pump, Superpower, Rollout

Mudkip Lv100, Waterfall, Body Slam, Dig, Iron Head, holds Choice Band

S.H.I.E.L.D. HQ [SHHQ]

Okay with all that done, we should go to Petalburg City. Why there? There's two places of interest. First, there's a dude near the gym that can take you to S.H.I.E.L.D. HQ! A big open space is here, guards block the way south, and the big building itself is to the north. Inside, you can talk to Melinda May, Al MacKenzie, Daisy Johnson, and Phil Coulson. On the next floor you can find Leo Fitz and Jemma Simmons. The next two floors have more familiar characters from the Avengers movies, starting with the original four Avengers: Stark, Thor, Rogers, and Banner. The top floor has Romanoff, Barton, Maria Hill, and Nick Fury. Also in the NW corner is a Nugget and a Master Ball! Neat! But that's it here. Go out of the HQ and talk to the guy in the SE corner to return to Hoenn.

STORYBROOKE [STOR]

To access Storybrooke, which is where we'll be doing some segments with the Once Upon a Time cast, surf across the pond in Petalburg to where that Azumarill was blocking. You should now be able to access this area. Go to the blue square and you will warp right in.

Ignore the guard for now and head to Storybrooke proper. The first house you see, the Open House, has a Chansey for healing and a PC. Ashley Boyd's home to the north is locked, but Granny's diner is open, although there's nothing of note inside. Houses belonging to Albert Spencer and Sidney Glass are locked.

Go to the bottom house of the bottom row to find Mr Gold's Pawnbroker and Antiquities Dealer. Talk to Belle to buy loads of Secret Base decorations, or decline to buy them and just get the regular mart wares, and you can also battle Mr. Gold himself here. But do note all of his mons have the Quick Claw.

Expert Mr. Gold: P40000

Glaceon Lv100, Un-Pay Day, Blizzard, Hydro Pump, Ancientpower

Pachirisu Lv100 (shiny), Thunder, Moonblast, Blizzard, Un-Pay Day

Lapras Lv100 (shiny), Un-Pay Day, Hydro Pump, Thunder, Blizzard

Metagross Lv100 (shiny), Psychic, Meteor Mash, Cross Chop, Earthquake

Blissey Lv100 (shiny), Un-Pay Day, Moonblast, Sacred Fire, Psychic

Delibird2 Lv100 (shiny?), Pay Day, Un-Pay Day, Moonblast, Blizzard

Yeah, I'm not sure what Delibird2's supposed to be, other than a souped-up Delibird. Even more that it's a shiny for some reason. Anyways, feel free to rematch Mr. Gold any time you want. Anyways, continue seeing the houses, Graham Humbert's house and Marco's Handyman & Woodworking Services are both locked, but north of them you can visit Emma Swan's home. Henry, Killian and Emma Swan are inside, and you can battle Emma.

Lady Emma: P28000

Meganium Lv100, Giga Drain, Dragon Claw, Sacred Fire, Silver Wind, holds Miracle Seed

Typhlosion Lv100, Fire Blast, Ancientpower, Hydro Pump, Thunder, holds Charcoal

Feraligatr Lv100, Waterfall, Ice Punch, Meteor Mash, Pixie Kick, holds Mystic Water

Ampharos Lv100, Thunder, Silver Wind, Un-Pay Day, Blizzard, holds Magnet

Dragonite Lv100, Meteor Mash, Dragon Claw, Rock Slide, Sacred Fire, holds Leftovers

Lapras Lv100, Hydro Pump, Blizzard, Un-Pay Day, Ancientpower, holds Leftovers

The last house on this row owned by Leroy is locked. Next row.  Sean Herman's home is locked, but The Charmings is open. You can do a double battle with Snow and David inside.

Young Couple Snow&David: P52000

Miltank Lv100, Pay Day, Cross Chop, Rock Slide, Meteor Mash, holds Silk Scarf

Tauros Lv100, Pay Day, Rock Slide, Meteor Mash, Cross Chop, Silk Scarf

Kangaskhan Lv100, Cross Chop, Rock Slide, Meteor Mash, Pixie Kick, holds Black Belt

Lucario Lv100, Meteor Mash, Cross Chop, Rock Slide, Sacred Fire, holds Metal Coat

Snorlax Lv100, Meteor Mash, Pay Day, Rock Slide, Pixie Kick, holds Leftovers

Milotic Lv100, Hydro Pump, Blizzard, Un-Pay Day, Ancientpower, holds Leftovers

Dr. Whale and Tom Clark are not home, but Dr. Archie Hopper is. Nothing of actual interest with him though. Now check out the big house at the top. The lady at the NE table is Zelena, and you can battle her.

PKMN Trainer Zelena: P29200

Espeon Lv100 (shiny), Attract, Psychic, Fire Blast, Un-Pay Day

Leafeon Lv100 (shiny), Rollout, Leaf Blade, Meteor Mash, Sacred Fire

Gardevoir Lv100, Heal Bell, Psychic, Un-Pay Day, Fire Blast

Gallade Lv100, Mach Punch, Cross Chop, Meteor Mash, Pixie Kick

Lucario Lv100 (shiny), Outrage, Meteor Mash, Cross Chop, Rock Slide

Salamence Lv100, False Swipe, Dragon Claw, Aeroblast, Sacred Fire

The other people on this floor are Robin and Regina. You can battle Regina.

PKMN Trainer Regina: P29200

Espeon Lv100, Psychic, Un-Pay Day, Moonblast, Fire Blast, holds Twistedspoon

Emolga Lv100, Thunder, Aeroblast, Un-Pay Day, Fire Blast, holds Magnet

Shedinja Lv100, Pay Day, Megahorn, Un-Pay Day, Rock Slide, holds Silverpowder

Lapras Lv100 (shiny), Hydro Pump, Blizzard, Thunder, Aeroblast, holds Mystic Water

Slowking Lv100 (shiny), Hydro Pump, Fire Blast, Psychic, Thunder, holds Smoothie

Togekiss Lv100 (shiny), Air Slash, Iron Head, Ancientpower, Pixie Kick, holds Quick Claw

You can rematch Zelena and Regina any time. No one is on the second floor, so leave and you're done in the main part of Storybrooke. Go back to the guard near the portal and talk to him. He'll offer you a Magic Bean to go to the Enchanted Forest.

ENCHANTED FOREST [ENCH]

It's a long and linear path, but it will soon open up. You will find Mulan, Phillip, Aurora, and Ariel out here. The big building here is locked, but you can find a portal NE of it taking you back to Storybrooke. If you follow the path to the left of the big castle, you'll find a large field with a pond at the SE end and Cora, who is another trainer you can battle.

PKMN Trainer Cora: P29200

Charizard Lv100 (shiny), Fire Blast, Thunder, Aeroblast, Hydro Pump, holds Charcoal

Bellossom Lv100 (shiny), Giga Drain, Sacred Fire, Ancientpower, Un-Pay Day, holds Miracle Seed

Shedinja Lv100, Pay Day, Megahorn, Un-Pay Day, Destiny Bond, holds Scope Lens

Milotic Lv100 (shiny), Un-Pay Day, Hydro Pump, Blizzard, Giga Drain, holds Leftovers

Togekiss Lv100 (shiny), Aeroblast, Rock Slide, Pixie Kick, Iron Head, holds Quick Claw

Blissey Lv100 (shiny), Pay Day, Un-Pay Day, Pixie Kick, Earthquake, holds Leftovers

As you might expect, since you could accept or decline a battle with Cora, you can of course battle her any time you wish. There's one more thing to do here, and that's to surf in the space south of Ariel. Notice the ship. It's the Jolly Roger, which is owned by Killian Jones. You can enter it from the north end, and it will actually take you to...

NEVERLAND [NEVE]

Neverland? How intriguing. Anyways, this area is dark, and Flash does not work here. If you want to leave, a teleporter at the NE end takes you back to the Enchanted Forest. However, there's a huge maze filled with glitchy tiles at the south end. It is incredibly frustrating to go through blind, but I will give you a guide. First off, go towards the waterfalls and when you drop, head all the way to the west. Then head south until you are not able to anymore. Now follow these instructions carefully:

East 18 spaces

South 11 spaces

West 1 space

The two people are Peter Pan and Felix. Peter Pan is a trainer.

PKMN Trainer Peter Pan: P29200

Gengar Lv100, Psychic, Sludge Bomb, Shadow Ball, Silver Wind, holds Spell Tag

Mimikyu Lv100, Shadow Punch, Pixie Kick, Drain Punch, Meteor Mash, holds Spell Tag

Blaziken Lv100, Pay Day, Cross Chop, Sacred Fire, Rock Slide, holds Charcoal

Togekiss Lv100, Air Slash, Rock Slide, Pixie Kick, Iron Head, holds Quick Claw

Blissey Lv100, Un-Pay Day, Moonblast, Psychic, Sacred Fire, holds Leftovers

Zoroark Lv100 (shiny), Un-Pay Day, Fire Blast, Thunder, Psychic, holds Blackglasses

Again, you can rematch him any time. The teleporter takes you back to Enchanted Forest. Unlike Grass Jewel 1, I don't think there's a major storyline here, but I do believe that battling these trainers will unlock things, cause I remember a number of places finally opening up after you battled Mr. Gold. In any case, return to Storybrooke through the portal nearby and enter the portal again to return to Petalburg. Now let's go legendary hunting once again. We need to head to the Battle Frontier.

FINAL MASTER TRAINERS/LEGENDARIES [MAST]

First off, get to the Artisan Cave entrance. The Meowth doll shouldn't be there anymore. Go past where it was and to the NW corner. Inspect the rock there to find a Nugget. Head to the NE ladder but ignore it and head south and up the floor there. Head south to another branching point. First off, take the left set of steps and go down to a rock containing a Big Pearl. You will see Mewtwo Lv80 here ready to catch, and there's also a Spell Tag in the rock to the north of Mewtwo as well! Take the NE ladder. You'll see a Sudowoodo, and interacting with it will give you one for free! A Swablu blocks the way to a guy, and there's a north and a south path to take. Take the north path and you'll be in Sky Garden, where you have the chance to catch Shaymin Lv80! After you deal with Shaymin, go back and you will notice that the Swablu has disappeared in the blue cave, allowing you to talk to the guy, who holds the ultimate shop in the game!

Ultra Ball: P500

Full Restore: P500

Max Revive: P2000

Max Elixir: P1000

PP Max: P5000

Rare Candy: P10000

Sacred Ash: P5000

Master Ball: P10000

Max Repel: P500

Yes that's right, you can buy Master Balls and Rare Candies and other items. Of course, they are much more expensive than all of the other items, so that'll even things out. Anyways, be wary if you decide to take the south path, because you will be immediately ambushed by Anabel and Tucker in a forced double battle right outside. All of their mons hold Leftovers, except for the two Latis that Anabel has which hold a Soul Dew.

Dome Ace Tucker: double battle with below

Swampert Lv100, Pay Day, Waterfall, Earthquake, Rock Slide

Charizard Lv100, Un-Pay Day, Fire Blast, Thunder, Aeroblast

Salamence Lv100, Sacred Fire, Aeroblast, Dragon Claw, Rock Slide

PKMN Master Anabel: P?0000

Snorlax Lv100, Pay Day, Earthquake, Meteor Mash, Rock Slide

Latios Lv100, Un-Pay Day, Hydro Pump, Fire Blast, Luster Purge

Latias Lv100, Un-Pay Day, Fire Blast, Mist Ball, Hydro Pump

Next stop, Liberty Cavern. You remember that area with the Eevee? Well it's no longer there, so you can access the bag and find...Victini Lv80!

Next, go to Route 115 and where the grass patch was, the guards are no longer there. Welcome to the Sacred Field!

Mons found:

Dratini: 40%

Articuno: 20%

Zapdos: 20%

Moltres: 20%

A great place to catch some legendary birds, eh? You'll also see...Eric is here!

PKMN Master Eric: P50000

Mudkip Lv100 (shiny), Un-Pay Day, Earthquake, Hydro Pump, Blizzard, holds Leftovers

Chikorita Lv100 (shiny), Un-Pay Day, Giga Drain, Moonblast, Sludge Bomb, holds Quick Claw

Latios Lv100 (shiny), Un-Pay Day, Hydro Pump, Fire Blast, Luster Purge, holds Soul Dew

Blissey Lv100 (shiny), Pay Day, Moonblast, Softboiled, Sacred Fire, holds Quick Claw

You can also enter that fancy Secret Base on Route 120 and battle Eric there again. All of his mons have the Quick Claw except for Latios which has a Soul Dew.

PKMN Master Eric: P50000

Azurill Lv100, Pay Day, Meteor Mash, Pixie Kick, Waterfall

Chikorita Lv100 (shiny), Rock Slide, Giga Drain, Sacred Fire, Sludge Bomb

Shaymin Lv100 (shiny), Air Slash, Ancientpower, Pixie Kick, Iron Head

Latios Lv100 (shiny), Un-Pay Day, Luster Purge, Moonblast, Fire Blast

Lapras Lv100 (shiny), Thunder, Hydro Pump, Earthquake, Blizzard

And yeah, you can rematch him either time in the Sacred Field or in that secret base. Since we're nearby, go to Route 119 and scale that waterfall (oh, and don't forget to bring an Acro Bike). No more guards! There's also a cave entrance here. Using an Acro Bike, you can find a Nugget, but if you go into the cave, guess what, it's Navel Rock! You can catch Lugia Lv70 and Ho-oh Lv70 here!

Fly to Mossdeep, and before we get the next few legendaries, head behind the space center to see Eric once again for yet another battle! This time all of his mons have Leftovers. As always, battle him any time.

PKMN Master Eric: P50000

Azurill Lv100, Pay Day, Pixie Kick, Meteor Mash, Waterfall

Mudkip Lv100 (shiny), Un-Pay Day, Blizzard, Earthquake, Hydro Pump

Chikorita Lv100 (shiny), Un-Pay Day, Giga Drain, Sludge Bomb, Moonblast

Sylveon Lv100 (shiny), Un-Pay Day, Moonblast, Psychic, Fire Blast

Latios Lv100 (shiny), Un-Pay Day, Hydro Pump, Fire Blast, Luster Purge

Latias Lv100 (shiny), Un-Pay Day, Fire Blast, Mist Ball, Hydro Pump

We're here in Mossdeep to head north to Route 125. You can access the back side of Azurill Isle Cave now! And also battle Eric yet again to the left!

PKMN Master Eric: P50000

Azurill Lv100, Pay Day, Pixie Kick, Waterfall, Meteor Mash, holds Leftovers

Mudkip Lv100, Un-Pay Day, Hydro Pump, Earthquake, Blizzard, holds Quick Claw

Cinccino Lv100, Headbutt, Pixie Kick, Rock Slide, Waterfall, holds Quick Claw

Victini Lv100, Psychic, Sacred Fire, Thunder, Un-Pay Day, holds Quick Claw

At the back, you will find the three legendary Johto dogs, EnteiRaikou, and Suicune, all Lv80!

Okay, back to Mossdeep. Head west to Route 124, then go to the second diving spot as you go west and dive there. Resurface at the other end, then dive at the next one you find. Resurface again, and this time you won't be blocked by some Azumarill. The room you come to is full of trash cans, and is a simple maze where you just gotta reach the teleporter. But you can also pick up a Lax Incense in the SE trashcan, a Sea Incense in a trashcan NW of the teleporter, and TM30 Shadow Ball in a trash can directly east of the teleporter. In any case, enter the Dream Dimension to get your chance to get Jirachi Lv50!

Fly to the Pokemon League in Ever Grande and while there, enter the building. Emmett is right there ready to battle if you want.

PKMN Trainer Emmett: P29200

Shuckle Lv100, Pay Day, Rock Slide, Silver Wind, Meteor Mash, holds Hard Stone

Ursaring Lv100, Pay Day, Brick Break, Crunch, Rock Slide, holds Silk Scarf

Blissey Lv100, Pay Day, Moonblast, Aeroblast, Blizzard, holds Silk Scarf

Azumarill Lv100, Waterfall, Pay Day, Pixie Kick, Extremespeed, holds Mystic Water

Cinccino Lv100, Headbutt, Astonish, Pixie Kick, Rock Slide, holds Quick Claw

Umbreon Lv100, Pay Day, Crunch, Psychic, Recover, holds Leftovers

We have to go to Victory Road to get to our next legendary. Note that one of the cooltrainers on the first floor is no longer blocking the way, which is a nifty shortcut when necessary. In any case, we need to go to the floor with water and to the top of the waterfalls to find that ladder the Azumarill was blocking earlier. We do have a trainer to battle though, and it's the last member of the Tanner family from Full House.

Tanner Stephanie: Bellossom Lv100, Lucario Lv100, Blissey Lv100, Togekiss Lv100, P40000

The ladder leads to the Deep Basement. It's dark, but thankfully it's not a large maze, so just get to the NE corner to challenge Darkrai Lv80.

And rather interestingly, if you go on Route 123, you will find two Team Truth grunts that you can actually battle in double battles. Very interesting that the two would be here of all places. But these are the grunts that employ the tactics of the weather with Water and Grass types.

Team Truth Grunt: P8000

If you've completed the Hoenn regional Pokedex, return to Pine's lab and you can pick one of the three legendary Johto dogs as another starter. Just as a freebie.

There's a few more legendaries to get, and in order to get them, fly back to Slateport and enter the PokeCenter. Talk to the guy at the table and say the phrase "LINK TOGETHER WITH ALL". Say that phrase and he'll talk about Mystery Gifts. Talk to him again and accept his Mystery Gift to get an Eon Ticket. Do it again for a Mysticticket, a third time for an Auroraticket, and finally the Old Sea Map. Now if you want to tackle these legendaries in a specific order, you ought to get one of these mystery gifts at a time, but this will assume you collected them all at once.

Go to a harbor and you'll eventually talk with a sailor, as well as Briney, to the location given with the Old Sea Map: Faraway Island. Head up, and I recommend using the Chansey because we do have an obligatory battle with Eric here before we can move on.

PKMN Master Eric: (all of his mons have a Quick Claw) P50000

Azurill Lv100, Pay Day, Waterfall, Meteor Mash, Pixie Kick

Mudkip Lv100, Pay Day, Hydro Pump, Un-Pay Day, Earthquake

Chikorita Lv100, Un-Pay Day, Giga Drain, Moonblast, Sludge Bomb

Togekiss Lv100, Air Slash, Pixie Kick, Iron Head, Ancientpower

Pachirisu Lv100, Un-Pay Day, Thunder, Ancientpower, Giga Drain

Mew Lv100, Pay Day, Psychic, Metronome, Un-Pay Day

Find Mew Lv30 in the forest! Leave and talk to the harbor lady to talk to a sailor who now offers a choice on where to go: Southern Island, Eternal Forest, and Birth Island. Let's just go in order. Southern Island is straightforward. Head to the forest and examine the rock to encounter Latias/Latios Lv50, whichever one isn't the roaming encounter you chose back home.

The next time you're back in harbor you have a full menu on where to go, but in any case, we're going to the Eternal Forest next. Navigate the maze to the center and head north for your chance at getting Celebi Lv80.

Finally, Birth Island. As far as I know, the puzzle hasn't changed, so look up the instructions for it on Bulbapedia if you wish. In any case, you can challenge Deoxys Lv30. It will of course be in Speed form.

Well, this concludes the detailed walkthrough of Grass Jewel 2. I tried to cover everything I could in this entire rom hack, including every trainer and possible Pokemon encounter, but of course there’s still things I’m missing. I never got a Torchic in Torchic Plains, for example, and because AdvanceMap has errors when viewing certain routes/areas (this is so I can list the wild encounters by percentage) I do not have accurate representations of which mons are common or rare in certain areas (like Liberty Cavern for instance). But this rom hack proved to be a more entertaining sequel than the first game.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: What’s at the back of the MacLaren’s Pub?

A: Nothing as far as I can tell. I tried the walk through walls code and there’s nothing there.

Q: What’s that cave on Route 103?

A: Already mentioned it in the guide, but again, there’s nothing there, even if you try to enter it with the walk through walls code you get nothing.

Q: WTF? I just got hit with a move called Epic Justice! It was a one-hit KO move! How?

A: This move replaces Splash (which may explain why Magikarp and Hoppip and such don’t have it anymore). It is a one-hit KO move apparently with no power ranking, with an accuracy value of 200. To test this, I hacked the move onto one of my Pokemon and can confirm it is a 100% accurate one-hit KO move (it even hits both opposing Pokemon in a double battle). Being a Normal-type move, it has no effect on Ghost types, so leading with that is an option.

Q: How to unlock the post-game legendaries?

A: You can catch Rayquaza before you beat the league. Groudon, Kyogre, and whichever Lati you saw on TV will be available right after the league. The Regis will be unlocked following your last battle with Maple, and for the rest of them, you have to battle Mr. Gold in Storybrooke to unlock them. For the Mystery Gift Pokemon, you need to talk to the guy at the table in Slateport’s PokeCenter, then say “LINK TOGETHER WITH ALL” in order to receive mystery gifts.

LatiosAzurill for the hack itself, it was quite fun to play and write a walkthrough about. Also for the video walkthroughs because I was stuck in a number of places.
