About This ROM Hack
Pokémon Luria is a story-driven Pokémon FireRed ROM hack developed primarily as a solo project by Omega Zero. It is the developer’s third ROM hack and was created with minimal outside help, mainly limited to beta testing and a small number of contributed assets.
The project aims to deliver a more traditional Pokémon experience while introducing custom visuals, new music, ASM features, and a brand-new region. Development is ongoing, with early betas focusing on foundational gameplay systems rather than full narrative polish.
Several aspects of the game, including the world map and some mechanics, are explicitly marked as temporary or unfinished.
Story Overview
Pokémon Luria is set 10 years after the events of Pokémon FireRed.
A new evil organization has emerged with a singular obsession: capturing Mew, and eventually Mewtwo, in order to take control of the world. According to legend, Mew only reveals itself to the purest of hearts, while Mewtwo appears only to those consumed by darkness.
On the day the story begins, Professor Gillian returns from a long journey around the world. She summons you and your rival, Tutai, to her laboratory. Upon arrival, you discover that she has prepared three Pokémon and the tools needed to begin a journey as a Pokémon Trainer.
With that, your adventure in the Luria region begins.
