About This ROM Hack
This isn’t a “new region epic adventure” hack. It’s more like FireRed if the timeline got nudged sideways — familiar, but not quite right. Trainers are shuffled, Gyms are unpredictable, maps look like Kanto but rearranged like furniture, and some Pokémon definitely went to the gym while others skipped stat day.
There’s even a Randomizer NPC in the starter town, so if you want your first wild encounter to be a level 2 Mewtwo… the game just shrugs and lets you try.
Story Overview
You start in Pallet Town, same house, same mom, same Professor Oak, same grass patch outside that everyone forgets exists. Everything looks normal for the first 60 seconds. Then Oak says something slightly off-script, like he remembers a different version of events, and it snowballs from there.Key Features
- HUNOL DPE + CFRU Patch Integrated: The hack now runs on the Complete FireRed Upgrade (CFRU) engine, combined with HUNOL’s DPE battle system, giving improved mechanics, modernized move handling, expanded abilities, and overall smoother battle performance.
- Enhanced Daycare System (Route 5): A brand-new and improved daycare facility has been added on Route 5, close to the Misty area, featuring better usability and more efficient Pokémon training/breeding options compared to vanilla FireRed.
- Map & Route Overhauls: Multiple map layouts have been redesigned. Routes, cities, and key locations now have new terrain structure, paths, and visual flow, making exploration feel fresh even for veteran Kanto players.
- Wild Encounter Changes: Almost every route has updated wild Pokémon tables. Expect different species, spawn rates, and sometimes rare surprises where you don’t expect them.
- Reworked Gym Teams: All Gym Leader Pokémon teams have been modified. Their lineups are stronger, smarter, and more varied. Some leaders use Pokémon you would never see in their original teams.
- New Battles Added: Includes new trainer fights, rival confrontations, and unique scripted battles, increasing difficulty and story interaction.
- NPC & Dialogue Revamp: A full rework of NPC placements, dialogue lines, and overall character interactions. Towns have more life, more weird comments, more sometimes-broken humor. Some lines may even contain intentional typos or goofy writing because… well, Dull Red.
- In-Game Randomizer NPC: A Randomizer NPC has been placed in the starting town. You can enable randomized wild encounters, trainer teams, or other chaos options before beginning your journey.
- New Starters: The starter selection has been replaced with new choices. You no longer begin with the classic Kanto trio.
- New Title Screen & Intro: A redesigned title screen graphic and intro animation give the hack its own identity from the moment you boot it up.
- Stat Rebalances: Several Pokémon now have custom base stats—buffed, nerfed, or just plain strange. Some changes may intentionally break expectations or challenge competitive logic.
