About This ROM Hack
Pokémon Cosmic Version is an ambitious, story-driven ROM hack set in a completely new region called Astronia. Originally developed as a binary FireRed hack using the Complete FireRed Upgrade (CFRU), the project is now being ported to the pokeemerald-expansion decompilation, allowing for faster development, cleaner code, and more advanced features in future releases.
Cosmic focuses on exploration, narrative depth, regional variants, and modern Pokémon mechanics, while maintaining a visual style faithful to vanilla FireRed. The current public release is a limited Beta, intended to gather feedback and stabilize core systems before full-scale development continues.
Story Overview
You have finally turned fifteen and are ready to begin your Pokémon journey in the Astronia region. Shortly after moving in, the renowned Pokémon Professor and astronomer Professor Almond sends you on a simple errand—but events quickly spiral out of control.
You soon become entangled with a mysterious organization known as The Rosé Order, whose motives are unclear but whose actions threaten the entire world. Why have they targeted you, and what is their ultimate goal?
Travel across Astronia’s diverse landscapes, meet lasting companions, uncover secrets hidden among the stars, and stop the Rosé Order’s plan before it’s too late in Pokémon Cosmic Version.

Known Bugs & Issues
- Current Beta has limited progression (up to shortly after the first Gym)
- Visual inconsistencies in early maps (planned remaps in ALPHA 1.0)
- Save compatibility not guaranteed between major Alpha versions
- Legacy bugs from the old engine will not be fixed due to the ongoing port
