About This ROM Hack

Pokémon XY: Naturia Version is a reimagining of Pokémon Gold built on the Game Boy Color engine, redesigned to feel closer to modern Pokémon titles like Pokémon X & Y.
The hack focuses on updated mechanics, rebalanced difficulty, Pokémon replacements, Fairy type integration, and competitive-style gameplay, while preserving the Johto adventure structure.

This project also serves as a test hack for the developer’s future project, Pokémon Revolution.

Story Overview

The core storyline follows the original Johto journey, including Gym challenges, Team Rocket events, and legendary Pokémon encounters.
However, many events, maps, Pokémon distributions, and battles have been altered to better match modern Pokémon mechanics and increased difficulty standards.

While the main narrative remains familiar, the gameplay experience is significantly different from Pokémon Gold.
