About This ROM Hack
Pokémon Yellow Legacy+ is not a standalone reimagining of Pokémon Yellow, but a deliberate difficulty-focused extension of Yellow Legacy. The developers did not create Yellow Legacy itself; instead, they took its foundation and pushed it further by increasing trainer levels, rebalancing battles, and adding demanding post-game challenges.
While the original intent of Yellow Legacy was to modernize and polish the Generation I experience with quality-of-life improvements, Legacy+ is aimed at players who want a tougher, more punishing version of that same refined experience. The hack assumes familiarity with Generation I mechanics and is not designed as an introductory Pokémon game.

- Hard Mode Ruleset: Optional hard mode enforces Set battle style, disables item usage in battle, and applies level caps by gym, forcing strategic team planning.
- PORT PC System: A portable PC feature allows players to access stored Pokémon more conveniently, reducing unnecessary backtracking.
- Rare Candy Accessibility: Rare Candies can be purchased at the Indigo Plateau Mart for $1 after the first Elite Four clear, allowing controlled leveling for post-game challenges.
- Quality of Life Improvements: Expanded bag space, sortable items, reusable TMs, overworld HM usage, faster saves, faster Pokémon Center healing, and improved Pokédex functionality.
- Battle System Adjustments: Improved AI logic, removal of item usage from Gym Leaders and the Elite Four, revised damage-over-time effects, and fixes to several long-standing Generation I bugs.
