About This ROM Hack
Pokémon Static Yellow is a Generation 1–focused ROM hack designed to modernize Pokémon Yellow without sacrificing the original Gen 1 “vibe.” Built using disassembly-based binary edits, the hack stays visually and tonally faithful to classic Pokémon while introducing a huge number of quality-of-life improvements, bug fixes, balance changes, and optional modern conveniences.
The project is heavily inspired by influential Gen 1 hacks such as Red++, Blue Kaizo, and other disassembly-based projects that demonstrated just how far Gen 1 could be pushed without losing its identity. The result is a polished, feature-rich Yellow experience that feels familiar, flexible, and far less frustrating than the original release.
