About This ROM Hack
Pokémon Crossed Universes is a story-driven ROM hack developed using pokeemerald-expansion, reviving a concept that originally began over 10 years ago under the name Rise of Fakemon (later renamed to Crossed Universe).
The original version was built in binary hacking and was eventually suspended indefinitely due to technical limitations such as excessive bugs, incompatibilities, and unstable development conditions. Recently, the project was restarted using a decompiled base, allowing the author to finally realize the original vision of the hack.
Story Overview
Ten years ago, for the first time in the Novocoyan Region, two trainers successfully earned all eight Gym Badges and were set to battle for the title of the region’s first Champion. However, when the decisive match was supposed to take place, one of the finalists never appeared. The championship was awarded by default, leaving the people of Novocoyan deeply disappointed, having been denied the region’s first true high-level trainer battle.
A decade later, a new generation of trainers rises to take on the Gym Challenge once again. At the same time, strange lights begin appearing in the sky, and some trainers report battling creatures that are not Pokémon—or at least not ones known to this world.
What are these beings?
Where do they come from?
And how will they change the journey of the new Champion candidates?
