About This ROM Hack
Pokémon Flawless Platinum is a completed enhancement hack of Platinum built around one straightforward goal: make every Pokémon from Generations 1 through 4 obtainable in a single playthrough.
It doesn't overhaul the story or dramatically change how the game feels. The Sinnoh experience stays largely intact — what changes is everything around accessibility. Encounter tables are expanded, evolution methods are adjusted, trade evolutions are removed, and roaming Pokémon are made easier to actually find and catch. The idea is that nothing should feel locked off or unnecessarily frustrating.
Stats, trainer teams, and a handful of mechanics get tweaked along the way, but the focus is polish and convenience rather than difficulty or reinvention. It pulls some inspiration from other Platinum hacks, though it has its own take on the balance changes rather than just copying what's been done before.
It's fully playable start to finish with only some minor bugs still floating around. If you want a clean, complete Sinnoh run where you're not locked out of half the Pokédex, this is a solid option.
Key Features
- National Dex from the Start: You receive the National Pokédex immediately, removing the requirement to see all Sinnoh Pokémon before accessing post-game content.
- 493 Pokémon Availability: All Pokémon from Generations 1–4 are obtainable within a single playthrough, with most available through wild encounters.
- Rebalanced Pokémon Data: Stats, types, movesets, abilities, and evolution methods for many Pokémon have been adjusted to improve balance and usability.
- No Trade or Happiness Evolutions: Trade evolutions are replaced with alternative methods, and happiness evolutions are simplified into level-based evolutions.
- Fully Edited Trainer Battles: Nearly all trainers have been reworked, offering different teams and encounters throughout the game.
- Updated Wild Encounters: Wild Pokémon distributions have been changed significantly to support full Pokédex completion.
- Modified Special Encounter Systems: Pokémon found in places like the Trophy Garden, Great Marsh, and Poké Radar have been adjusted to include a wider variety (including starters).
- Higher Overworld Pokémon Levels: Gift Pokémon and overworld encounters are generally at higher levels, increasing overall challenge and pacing.
- No Roaming Pokémon: Roaming legendaries have been removed; instead, they appear stationary in the overworld for easier access.
- All Legendary Pokémon Available: Every Legendary Pokémon can be encountered somewhere in Sinnoh, including some available before the Elite Four.
- Event Content Unlocked: Special event Pokémon and features (such as Rotom forms and Regis) are accessible without requiring external event items.
- Helpful NPC Rewards: Certain NPCs provide useful items like Evolution Stones, Fossils, TMs, and the Poké Radar.
Known Bugs & Issues
- Some trainers (e.g., Twins) may have strange or incorrect names due to an unfixable bug
- Losing a battle after obtaining the bike without healing elsewhere may incorrectly send the player to Eterna City
- A known visual/text bug was intentionally left in because fixing it caused larger issues (does not affect gameplay)
