About This ROM Hack

Pokémon Delta Emerald aims to deliver the definitive Hoenn experience by merging the best elements of Pokémon Emerald with the story, mechanics, and presentation of Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire (ORAS).

While ORAS split Hoenn’s legendary narrative between two versions and removed Emerald-exclusive content like the Battle Frontier, Delta Emerald restores everything into a single, unified game, combining:

  • Emerald’s complete structure
  • ORAS story upgrades
  • Modern Pokémon mechanics

Despite being cancelled, version 1.1.5 is fully playable and content-rich.

Story Overview

The core storyline follows Pokémon Emerald, but it is heavily rewritten using Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire dialogue, characters, and events.

Key narrative changes include:

  • Primal Groudon, Primal Kyogre, and Mega Rayquaza integrated into the main plot
  • Zinnia fully incorporated into the story with her own themes
  • Steven Stone restored as Champion
  • Wallace reassigned as Sootopolis Gym Leader
  • Story events rewritten to reflect ORAS canon

The result is a modernized Hoenn storyline that feels closer to ORAS while preserving Emerald’s scope.
