About This ROM Hack

Pokemon Omniversal Emerald is a Ben 10-inspired crossover ROM hack built on Pokémon Emerald that completely reimagines the Hoenn region with a multiverse-inspired twist. Instead of simply adding a handful of new Pokémon, the hack introduces over 400 new regional forms and mutations, transforming familiar Pokémon into creatures influenced by the mysterious comet that passed over Hoenn.

Players can choose to adventure as Ben or Gwen, making this one of the few Pokémon ROM hacks to feature protagonists directly inspired by another franchise. The project also incorporates alien-themed Pokémon fusions, custom abilities, new graphics, original music, and a wide variety of gameplay improvements while maintaining the core Pokémon experience.

Built using pokeemerald-expansion, the hack also includes numerous modern mechanics such as DexNav, reusable TMs, Fairy-type support, Mega Evolution, mandatory level caps, and an Innate Ability system inspired by Pokémon Elite Redux and PokéRogue. As of v0.3.1, the project is currently available as a demo, with additional content expected in future releases.

Story Overview

Pokémon Omniversal Emerald follows an alternate version of the Hoenn region where a mysterious comet has passed overhead, causing Pokémon across the region to mutate into entirely new forms. These strange transformations have dramatically changed the local ecosystem, creating an entirely new Pokédex for players to discover.
