About This ROM Hack

Pokémon Snakewood Improved is a patch collection designed to bring the 2013 release of Pokémon Snakewood up to modern ROM hacking standards. This WIP project focuses on enhancing the original experience by fixing bugs, improving features, and adding various modern mechanics like the Physical/Special Split and reusable TMs. The project is still in development, so users are advised to use it at their own discretion. The patch is mostly compatible with vanilla Pokémon Snakewood saves, but there are some limitations, such as the clearing of the "Items" pocket in the bag expansion patch.

Story Overview

The story of Pokémon Snakewood is set in the Hoenn region, where a zombie apocalypse has taken over, and players must navigate this post-apocalyptic world to survive and uncover the mystery behind the outbreak. As with the original game, Pokémon Snakewood Improved offers a unique, dark, and humorous experience filled with zombie-themed events, strange characters, and eerie atmosphere. This hack retains the core of the original plot but aims to fix many technical issues and enhance the overall experience.

Key Features

  • Physical/Special Split: The hack introduces the Physical/Special Split, which allows moves to be classified based on their effects rather than their type, giving greater flexibility and strategy in battle.
