Story
This game is set a century after a catastrophic disaster that dramatically reshaped the Kanto region, severing the Sevii Region from Greater Kanto and leaving large portions of the land lost or inaccessible. In the aftermath, new Paradox forms of familiar Pokémon emerged. These powerful variants gradually outcompeted their original counterparts and came to dominate the region, though sightings of them remain rare across Sevii.
Lower, unevolved Pokémon were largely unaffected by this shift; however, they no longer evolve, as doing so would leave them vulnerable to predation by these overtaken forms. As a result of this evolutionary arms race, the overall power balance of Pokémon has changed across the region.
Players will journey through a transformed Sevii Region, exploring recognizable yet altered landscapes, newly added areas, and a substantial amount of post-game content. Along the way, you’ll encounter several unique additions designed to set this experience apart. Discover and collect these new forms to build a distinctive team—and prepare for an expansive post-game adventure.
List of Features
- Over 40 hours of main-game content, followed by a substantial post-game featuring an expansive area comparable in scope to a second region
- Core gameplay mechanics and parameters are largely preserved, including the absence of the Fairy type and the original physical/special type split (e.g., Normal, Ground, Steel vs. Fire, Grass, Electric)
- Approximately 150 Pokémon have been replaced with new forms, each featuring unique typings, base stats, and movepools
- Rebalanced statistics across all Pokémon to promote more even interactions; Paradox forms generally have base stat totals between 580 and 620 and do not rely on booster-style mechanics
- All original FireRed items are retained, with select changes to TM availability, move tutors, and trade mechanics
- Three completely new Pokémon have been added (including Gorochu), along with three special Mythical Pokémon
- Six new moves and two hidden moves introduced
- The world map has been reworked and expanded while preserving the original layout and structure
- Shiny encounter rates increased to approximately 0.1% (about 9× the original odds), with fully updated shiny palettes for all new forms and select existing Pokémon
- A large, content-heavy post-game region, with noticeable increases in challenge and gameplay depth beginning around Gym 4
- The only externally sourced assets used are Gorochu’s front and back sprites
- Minimal code expansion was performed; one move was added early in development before transitioning to move replacement. As a result, Night Slash displays a generic message (“used a dark move”). Some sprite palettes were adjusted, pointer handling was managed automatically, and a small number of non-functional hidden items were removed due to engine limitations
