HARD MODE only changes

Higher Level Scaling:

Hard mode will scale levels according to badges (that's where the main difficulty comes from). Includes trainers and wild Pokémon.
Higher Damage Scaling:
Your opponents’ hits are stronger. Damage scales with badges.
Badge boost are disabled
Exp. gain is reduced (optional):
Reduced by 40%. You can disable it via the challenges menu at the start, HOWEVER it is not recommended as it has been carefully curated. Not having this option on will make HARD mode pretty easy.
EXP. Share changes:
Makes exp. share work like its name says, it HALVES current exp. and shares only HALF of it. When in normal mode, exp. share gets full exp. to the battling Pokémon, then shares half exp.
Trainer changes:
Ace Pokémon have new strategies: Norman's Slaking doesn't have Truant, rain is set when fighting Juan and Wallace, and more. Note that some changes are not "legal" per se, like Slaking's not having Truant. Good luck!
Frontier bans (optional):
In HARD MODE, all legendaries (including "small ones" like Latios or Regis) are banned. It's optional, only if you enabled "Frontier Bans" at the start of the game.
Rayquaza is now level 50:
Instead of being level 70, like in Easy and Normal mode.
Legendaries pose a larger threat:
The stats of all Legendary Pokémon are temporarily boosted while battling them.
Strong Legendary Pokémon Catch rate lowered:
Some legendaries have their catch rate adjusted from 3/255 to 2/255 (Only Mewtwo, Mew, Ho-Oh, Lugia, Celebi, Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Deoxys, Regigigas).
4 item limit:
Only four items can be used while battling trainers (not wild Pokémon) (upcoming, not in 3.3.1).
