Pokémon Renegade Platinum – NPC Changes (v1.3.0)
Evolution Item Seller (New)
Location: Snowpoint City
- The top left house in Snowpoint City is now occupied by an NPC who sells evolution items.
- She only offers items not available at the Veilstone Dept. Store or the Game Corner.
- Each item costs $10,000.
Hidden Power Teller (New)
Location: Jubilife Trainers' School
- An NPC in the school will tell you what type a Pokémon’s Hidden Power will be.
- The power of Hidden Power still depends on IVs in Renegade Platinum, but the NPC cannot tell you this.
- The Hidden Power teller is also available in Veilstone City.
Item Fanatic (New)
Location: Floaroma Town
- The "Item Fanatic" is located in the house to the right of the Pokémon Center.
- He mentions that he can give you items that only certain Pokémon can use.
- With Pikachu: Receive a Light Ball.
- With Farfetch'd: Receive a Stick.
- With Cubone or Marowak: Receive a Thick Club.
- With Chansey: Receive a Lucky Punch.
- With Ditto: Receive Quick Powder and Metal Powder.
- With Clamperl: Receive Deep Sea Tooth and Deep Sea Scale.
Move Deleter
Location: Oreburgh City
- The Move Deleter is now located in the house to the left of the Pokémon Center in Oreburgh City.
- No other changes.
Move Relearner
Location: Pastoria City
- The Move Relearner remains in the same place.
- No payment is required — just speak to him to relearn moves.
Move Tutors
Location: Route 212 (South)
- The Move Tutors from Route 212, Snowpoint City, and the Survival Area are now all located in the house on Route 212.
- No payment (like shards) is required — just speak to them to learn moves.
Rare Berry Seller (New)
Location: Route 208
- A female scientist NPC now resides in the house just left of the gatehouse leading to Hearthome City, where the Berry Master lives.
- This NPC will sell you rare berries (such as Liechi and Salac Berries) that can't normally be obtained in Platinum.
- Each berry can be bought infinitely but costs $10,000 per purchase.
Training NPCs (New)
Location: Solaceon Town
- The Training NPCs can be found in the Solaceon Day Care.
- The Cowgirl (on the right) offers training for experience or a specific stat.
- The Farmer (on the left) sells a bundle of 15 EV-reducing berries for $5,000.
Experience Training:
- When choosing experience training, you'll face off against a team of Chansey or Blissey at the chosen level.
- These Pokémon will only know Healing Wish and hold a Toxic Orb.
- Higher levels of experience training become available as you progress through the game:
- Lv. 35 unlocked after defeating Maylene.
- Lv. 45 unlocked after reaching Celestic Town.
- Lv. 55 unlocked after defeating Candice.
- Lv. 65 unlocked after completing Victory Road.
- Lv. 75 unlocked after becoming Champion.
- Lv. 85 unlocked after completing the Stark Mountain events.
Stat Training:
- When choosing stat training, you’ll select Low, Medium, or High.
- Low: Fight against a team of Level 10 Pokémon giving 1 EV of the selected stat.
- Medium: Fight against a team of Level 10 Pokémon giving 2 EVs of the selected stat.
- High: Fight against a team of Level 10 Pokémon giving 3 EVs of the selected stat.
