About This ROM Hack

Pokémon Ultimate Mega FireRed is a large-scale modernization of the original FireRed experience, developed by Maddy Styles and Arvin Torrente. The hack keeps the familiar Kanto journey intact but significantly upgrades the gameplay systems to match newer generations.

The core identity of FireRed is preserved, but the experience is heavily enhanced with Mega Evolutions, Primal Forms, the Fairy type, and modern battle mechanics. It also brings in Pokémon, moves, and abilities from later generations, effectively turning FireRed into a hybrid between classic Kanto and a Gen 6-style gameplay framework.

One important note is that while the hack is feature-rich, some mechanics and encounters feel designed more for experimentation and expansion rather than strict balance, especially with legendary availability and upgraded stats.
