About This ROM Hack
Pokémon Sun Sky is a completed Pokémon FireRed ROM hack that blends classic Kanto gameplay with mechanics, Pokémon, and characters from later generations—most notably Alola.Designed as a first major project by its developers, the hack introduces modern Pokémon systems such as Mega Evolution and Z-Moves, while expanding the Kanto storyline into a new era set years after Red’s journey. The game primarily takes place in Kanto, with access to the Alola region and content inspired by Generation 7.
Story Overview
The story takes place 15 years after the events of Pokémon Red.Red has mysteriously disappeared, and his son now lives in Pallet Town. The Kanto region has changed significantly, and Brock has replaced Professor Oak as the region’s Pokémon Professor.
As the protagonist begins their journey, they encounter Pokémon unknown to the original Kanto Pokédex. Over time, the story expands beyond Kanto, leading the player into the Alola Region, introducing familiar faces such as Lillie and uncovering a new threat tied to Team Rainbow Rocket.
Despite Alola’s presence, the main storyline remains centered in Kanto, offering a reimagined version of the classic region with modern twists.
