About This ROM Hack

Pokémon DarkRising Origins: Worlds Collide is a standalone crossover ROM hack that merges the worlds of Pokémon and Digimon into a single adventure. Developed as a special spin-off within the Dark Rising universe, this title is not canon to the main Dark Rising storyline.

The hack is designed as a fan celebration of both franchises, featuring Digimon as fully playable, collectible creatures alongside Pokémon, complete with custom stats, evolution mechanics, and lore integration.

Story Overview

A mysterious outbreak has spread throughout the Ferrum Region. Strange digital creatures known as Digimon have begun appearing, their data fused directly with the DNA of Pokémon.

You play as Ryu or Ryuko, a newly recruited member of Team Dark Rising, an elite task force assembled to investigate this unprecedented phenomenon.

As the crisis unfolds, it becomes clear that seven ancient beings—the Great Demon Lords—have been unleashed by the Satan Pokémon Darugis. These entities threaten both the digital and physical worlds.

Your mission is to:

  • Investigate the Pokémon–Digimon fusion outbreak
  • Defeat the Seven Great Demon Lords
  • Stop Darugis before both worlds collapse

Although the game features familiar Dark Rising characters, Worlds Collide exists outside the main Dark Rising canon, allowing full creative freedom for this crossover concept.
