About This ROM Hack
Pokémon Fire Red Legacy Lite is a Pokémon FireRed improvement hack that ports changes from Pokémon Yellow Legacy and Pokémon Emerald Legacy into FireRed. The project keeps the traditional FireRed experience and focuses on gameplay refinements, quality-of-life improvements, battle changes, and selected content adjustments rather than creating a new region or completely rewriting the game.
Many of the changes come directly from the Pokémon Legacy projects, including revised boss teams, improved movement and battle speed options, changes to HMs, updated Pokémon information, gym rematches, and numerous smaller improvements throughout Kanto.
The project also makes several changes specifically suited to FireRed. These include making Cerulean Cave accessible without completing the Sevii Islands, updating Sevii Islands encounters and trainers, adding the Mew event, changing how certain evolutions work, and expanding access to stones and other items.
Fire Red Legacy Lite also introduces several battle mechanics and type-based changes, including making Ghost-type moves special and Dark-type moves physical. Weather effects, abilities, and other mechanics have also been adjusted.
Version 1.0.4 was released on August 16, 2026.
