About This ROM Hack

Pokémon Timeless Diamond is a comprehensive enhancement of the original Pokémon Diamond Version, built around a simple but ambitious idea: what if Diamond and Pearl had received another year of development before release? Rather than replacing the identity of the original games, the project expands and refines them by incorporating ideas from Pokémon Platinum and more recent Pokémon titles while remaining faithful to the artistic direction of Generation IV.

The hack modernizes nearly every aspect of the Sinnoh experience. The regional Pokédex has been expanded, all 493 Generation IV Pokémon are obtainable within the game, battle mechanics and Pokémon data have been updated to modern standards, and countless quality-of-life improvements remove many of the inconveniences found in the original releases. At the same time, the core journey through Sinnoh remains recognizable, preserving the atmosphere and pacing that made Diamond memorable.

Beyond gameplay improvements, Timeless Diamond introduces additional story scenes, new postgame activities, password-based bonus events, restored unused content, and numerous refinements that make the game feel like an enhanced official release rather than a complete redesign.

Key Features

  • Expanded Regional Pokédex: The Sinnoh Pokédex has been expanded to 242 Pokémon, incorporating many of the additions introduced in Pokémon Platinum.
  • All 493 Pokémon Obtainable: Every Pokémon available through Generation IV has been seamlessly integrated into the Sinnoh region without requiring external trading or version-exclusive content.

  • Move Rebalancing: Several attacks, including Constrict, Mirror Shot, and Rock Climb, have been redesigned to provide greater usefulness.
  • Advance Radar: Encounter rare Pokémon that normally cannot be found through standard wild encounters.
  • Improved Honey Trees: Honey Trees are no longer dependent on real-time waiting, and encounter tables now vary by location.
  • Modern Catch Rates: Several Poké Balls have updated catch rates based on modern Pokémon games.
  • Restored Unused Content: Previously unused Seals, Accessories, Backdrops, Goods, and other collectibles have been fully restored.
  • Faster Surfing: Surf movement speed has been increased to match Pokémon Platinum.

  • Generation IV Bug Fixes: Numerous bugs present in the original Diamond and Pearl games have been corrected.
