About This ROM Hack
Pokémon Pisces is an ambitious sequel-style hack that builds on Pokémon Emerald’s foundation while dramatically expanding nearly every aspect of gameplay. Featuring a 250+ Pokémon Pokédex that mixes classic species with brand-new creations, the hack introduces a fully remapped Hoenn, updated battle systems, and numerous new mechanics.
This is not a casual revisit to Hoenn—Pokémon Pisces is designed to be challenging, pushing players to adapt to smarter encounters, deeper mechanics, and a harsher region overall.
Story Overview
Set several years after the conclusion of Pokémon Emerald, Pokémon Pisces places the player in a changed Hoenn—one shaped by time, reform, and new ideologies. Rather than beginning in the usual starter towns, the player’s Gym Challenge starts in Pacifidlog Town and proceeds backwards through Hoenn’s Gym circuit, with each stop offering surprises, recontextualized leaders, and new story beats.
Throughout the journey, the player works closely with Team Ozone, an environmentalist organization formed from the reformed remnants of both Team Aqua and Team Magma. Their mission is preservation rather than domination, and their presence is woven deeply into the region’s new conflicts.
Your rival, Ray, is a mysterious scout for Team Ozone who immediately establishes an antagonistic dynamic with the player. While not openly villainous, Ray’s motivations and loyalty create ongoing tension as the story unfolds.
