About This ROM Hack
Pokémon Avalon is a story-focused GBA ROM hack built on Pokémon Fire Red. It introduces a large new region, the Avalon region, and a narrative revolving around time travel, Paradox Pokémon, and a devastated future shaped by the villain Nox Valtarius. Players will experience a unique blend of medieval-era exploration and futuristic consequences, encountering Pokémon from Generations 1 through 8 along the way.
The hack emphasizes exploration, story immersion, and era-based mechanics, with quality-of-life enhancements such as DexNav, EXP Share, and a level cap system to maintain balance.
Story Overview
In a distant future, the brilliant inventor Valtarius creates a powerful Time Machine capable of traversing eras. While traveling to the past, he discovers the mysterious Paradox Pokémon and an ancient relic with extraordinary powers. Consumed by ambition, Valtarius imprisons these creatures and drastically alters history, creating a world without Pokémon. His ultimate goal is to construct a machine capable of annihilating all Pokémon and establishing the “New World” of Nox Valtarius.
The player assumes the role of a young peasant from Aldenford, a village in the medieval era. While trying to protect their village, the protagonist discovers a portal generated by Nox’s time machine. This begins a journey across multiple eras, with stakes high enough to decide the fate of the entire world.
