About This ROM Hack
Star Beasts – Comet Version is a total conversion and homage to the first generation of Pokémon games, developed over more than five years. Originally intended as a playable English adaptation of Vast Fame's Shi Kong Xing Shou, it evolved into its own project featuring entirely new Fakemon, a redesigned region, and a focus on exploration and accessibility.
This hack updates nearly every aspect of Pokémon Red, including music, sprites, moves, and game mechanics, while keeping the nostalgic charm of Gen 1 intact.
Story Overview
Players explore the Relas region, encountering new trainers, environments, and Fakemon species along the way. While preserving the feel of the original Gen 1 games, the game adds more dialogue, areas, and challenges, encouraging exploration and rewarding players for discovering rare Star Beasts.
The main goal is to complete the new Pokedex, battle challenging trainers, and uncover the secrets of the Relas region. NPCs provide guidance for rare Pokémon, making the game friendly to newcomers while maintaining depth for veteran players.
