About This ROM Hack

Pokémon Stellar is a binary difficulty Pokémon FireRed ROM hack featuring a heavy emphasis on Fakémon, competitive gameplay, and a retro Gen 3 aesthetic. The project is inspired by Star Twinkle Pretty Cure and other media, blending magical themes with a reimagined version of the Kanto region.

While based on FireRed, Pokémon Stellar significantly alters the experience through custom Pokémon designs, higher difficulty, aggressive level scaling, and reworked battles designed for strategy-focused players.

Story Overview

After the events of Pokémon FireRed & LeafGreen, two mysterious protagonists — Aster and Star — arrive in the Kanto region. Rumors suggest they originate from a mysterious place known as the Ceastil Region, which will later be explored in Pokémon Delectable.

Before strange stellar meteors fall across Kanto, the protagonists spend time in Celadon City, indulging in merchandise from the upcoming Star Twinkle Pretty Cure series. Among their belongings is a plush Pokémon named Purikuheart, which becomes the game’s mascot.

That night, stellar meteors crash across Kanto, drastically altering the region’s environment, creating new locations, routes, and anomalies. One meteor nearly strikes Pallet Town, but a Pokémon named Fuuwacorn emerges from a mysterious artifact known as the Twinkle Book.

The following day, Professor Sakura appears and explains that the Twinkle Book is an ancient artifact once sealed away in the Pokémon Mansion on Cinnabar Island, trapping Fuuwacorn inside for years. With Kanto transformed and cosmic forces at play, Aster and Star begin a grand and dangerous adventure.
