HeartGold Generations v2.0 – Ability Changes

General Notes

A true Hidden Ability system was not implemented.
Some Pokémon received Hidden Abilities as Secondary Abilities if they significantly benefit from them.

Examples: Sylveon – Pixelate, Gliscor – Poison Heal, Crawdaunt – Adaptability.

Certain Pokémon were given improved abilities at personal discretion (e.g., Blastoise – Mega Launcher, Archeops – Tangled Feet).
Ability changes apply to the entire evolutionary family, unless stated otherwise.
All Starter Pokémon automatically gain their Hidden Abilities (where implemented) as secondary abilities.
Pokémon not listed received no changes.

Many Pokémon received type changes to make them more interesting or unique, without altering base stats. Changes often reflect design, lore, or unused type combos:

Typhlosion – Fire/Ground, learns Mud Slap, Mud Bomb, Earth Power. Reflects badger/hedgehog design.

Wild Encounters – HeartGold Generations v2.0

Notes: Johto routes have identical Morning/Day encounters (except Route 34). Starters are catchable on Route 34 at different times. Kanto routes have the same Pokémon at all times. National Park is a Fossil Pokémon Sanctuary by day, pseudo-legendary sanctuary by night. Other routes/fishing/surfing spots mostly have vanilla encounters. Kanto is filled with legendaries.
