About This ROM Hack

Pokémon Definitive Platinum is a ROM hack/mod of Pokémon Platinum designed to deliver a fully enhanced Sinnoh experience. The hack aims to showcase what Platinum could have looked like at release while preserving its core mechanics and identity.

The game provides full accessibility to all 493 Pokémon, adds new story content, and improves gameplay quality-of-life features such as Infinite TMs, reusable Repels, Instant Honey Trees, and Instant Party Heals. Trainers, Gym Leaders, and wild encounters have been rebalanced for both challenge and replayability.

Story Overview

The story follows the original Platinum narrative, with added content in both the main game and postgame. Players can explore new events, encounter mythical and legendary Pokémon through unlocked Mystery-Gift events, and engage with new trainers, characters, and challenges.

Players progress through Sinnoh, collecting badges, battling revamped Gym Leaders with 6-Pokémon teams inspired by the manga and other entries, and ultimately challenging the Elite Four. Postgame content provides additional story exploration and challenges while preparing players for tough encounters.
