About This ROM Hack

Pokémon Deluxe Crystal is an enhanced version of Pokémon Crystal, created as the developer’s first-ever ROM hack. Rather than reimagining the game, this project focuses on modernizing the Generation 2 experience through extensive quality-of-life improvements, balance adjustments, and accessibility features—while preserving the original spirit of Johto and Kanto.

The hack is designed to feel like the definitive way to play Pokémon Crystal, smoothing out outdated mechanics without altering the core adventure.

Story Overview

The story remains faithful to the original Pokémon Crystal. Players journey through Johto, challenge all eight Gym Leaders, dismantle Team Rocket, become the Pokémon League Champion, and eventually explore Kanto to earn all 16 Gym Badges.

No story content has been removed or rewritten; the enhancements focus entirely on gameplay, pacing, and convenience.
