About This ROM Hack
Pokémon Emerald Crest is a highly expanded and feature-rich ROM hack of Pokémon Emerald created by Aaghat. It aims to blend the classic Hoenn experience with mechanics, Pokémon, moves, and modern systems from Generations I–IX, including later content like Teal Mask DLC mons and moves.
This hack is much more than a simple update — it integrates a wide variety of quality-of-life improvements, new battle mechanics, expanded Pokémon availability, and a base story that remains fundamentally Emerald while layering in extra quests and supplemental content.
The current version (1.0.F) packs many new features, numerous bug fixes, and cross-gen upgrades, but it clearly states that more enhancements (like Dynamax, Gigantamax, improved AI, and UI) are planned for future releases.
Story Overview
The story is essentially the same as Vanilla Pokémon Emerald at its core, meaning you’ll still progress through the Hoenn region’s major trials and Gym challenges.
However, extra quests and supplemental encounters have been added so the adventure feels more expansive than standard Emerald’s run — especially due to:
