About This ROM Hack
Pokémon Emerald Retcon Micropatch Collection is a modular gameplay patch collection for Pokémon Emerald created by PowerPanda. Instead of functioning as a traditional ROM hack with a new story or region, it provides a series of small, independent patches that modernize Pokémon mechanics through carefully selected evolution, breeding, and type changes.
The project is based on the concept of retroactive continuity (retcon)—updating older Pokémon games with mechanics or logical adjustments that better reflect later generations without dramatically changing the original gameplay experience. Rather than forcing every modification into a single package, each micropatch can be applied individually, allowing players to customize exactly which changes they want.
An optional All-In Patch is also included, combining every available modification into a single patch for players who want the complete experience.

Azurill Improvements: Corrects Azurill's gender ratio to 50/50 and changes its typing to Water.
Mr. Mime Gender Correction: Adjusts Mr. Mime's gender ratio to 100% male to better match its intended design.
Expanded Type Retcons: Introduces alternative typings for numerous Pokémon based on long-standing community discussions and later-generation design philosophies.
Dragon-Type Starter Changes: Changes Charizard to Fire/Dragon, Sceptile to Grass/Dragon, and Blastoise to Water/Steel, while Bulbasaur becomes a pure Grass-type.
Additional Type Updates: Includes optional type changes for Pokémon such as Pinsir, Psyduck, Golduck, Girafarig, Absol, Huntail, Gorebyss, Lugia, Porygon, Volbeat, Illumise, Unown, Wobbuffet, Wynaut, Meowth, and Persian.
Move Type Adjustments: Certain moves are updated alongside type changes, such as Pay Day becoming a Dark-type move when using the Bad Kitty patch.
