About This ROM Hack
Pokémon Bloody Red is an extreme difficulty Pokémon FireRed ROM hack designed for players seeking one of the hardest Pokémon experiences available. Inspired by challenge hacks such as Kaizo games by SHF, Bloody Platinum by Buffy, and Touhoumon Insane by Drakuaza, the project dramatically increases battle difficulty while retaining the core Generation III gameplay style.
Nearly every aspect of progression has been balanced around experienced players. Trainers use highly optimized teams, Gym Leaders and bosses feature significantly higher levels than in the original FireRed, and many standard conveniences have been removed or restricted. Alongside the difficulty overhaul, the hack introduces custom legendary encounters, ability adjustments, move balance changes, evolution updates, and several gameplay restrictions intended to make every battle a serious challenge.
Story Overview
A mysterious race of terrifying alien lifeforms has invaded the Kanto region. Using the Legendary Pokémon as templates, they create horrific evil counterparts known as the Bloody Legendaries, powerful beings that serve as their ultimate weapons.
The invaders have already taken control of the Elite Four, leaving the region in chaos while hunting anyone capable of resisting them. As the protagonist, you must unite with Pokémon from across Kanto—including Legendary Pokémon—to fight back against the otherworldly invasion and reclaim the region from its corrupted rulers.
