About This ROM Hack

Pokémon Ultra FireRed is an improvement hack of FireRed that incorporates Pokémon from Generations 1 through 7, Mega Evolutions, Alolan Forms, and new gameplay mechanics. The hack rebalances the game by making trade evolutions unnecessary, making starter Pokémon available earlier, and increasing the chance of encountering shiny Pokémon. It also introduces new fakemon, including a dark variant of Mewtwo, and allows many Mega Evolutions to occur through leveling.

 

Story Overview

The story largely follows the classic FireRed plot but with updated regions, rival interactions, and the inclusion of modern Pokémon elements. Players start their adventure with a choice of new starters that are available in the wild before the third Gym. Legendary Pokémon, Mega Evolutions, and Ash-Greninja play key roles throughout the progression of the story.
