About This ROM Hack

Pokémon Light Rising is a Pokémon FireRed ROM hack developed with the goal of creating a fresh regional adventure while incorporating Pokémon and mechanics from multiple generations. Built on the FireRed engine for ease of development and expanded mapping possibilities, this hack introduces a brand-new region, updated Pokémon movesets, new Gym Leaders, rivals, and maps. The game blends classic Pokémon gameplay with newer-generation content, aiming to deliver a familiar yet modernized experience on the GBA.

Story Overview

The story begins when Brendan or May moves from the Hoenn region to a new land known as the Light Region, settling in Light Town after turning 18. Leaving behind all previously caught Pokémon, the protagonist decides to start a completely new life.

One night, everything changes. The player experiences a vivid and unsettling dream involving Mewtwo, the powerful clone of Mew created by Team Rocket. In the dream, Victini appears, and the two Legendary Pokémon engage in an intense battle. As the player becomes caught in the middle of this clash, the dream turns into a terrifying nightmare. This mysterious vision sets the stage for a deeper story involving legendary Pokémon, hidden threats, and the true significance of the Light Region.
