About This ROM Hack

Pokémon Frontier Adventure aims to consolidate the side activities of the Pokémon series and place them at the forefront, while improving the core battling experience with an upgraded Pokémon Emerald Battle Engine. Players are tasked with collecting all 7 Gold Symbols in the Battle Frontier, while also enjoying activities such as Pokémon Contests and the Game Corner. This hack enhances the traditional gameplay with various new features, making it an ideal choice for those who love both competitive battling and the extra content offered in Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire.

Story Overview

The story of Pokémon Frontier Adventure revolves around the player's journey to conquer the Battle Frontier and earn all 7 Gold Symbols. In addition to the usual Pokémon battles, players will engage in Pokémon Contests to become a Master Coordinator, and spend time at the Game Corner, collecting Battle Points (BP) for unique rewards. The adventure revolves around exploring all facets of the Battle Frontier, including competitions, contests, and free-time activities such as Secret Base decoration and managing items.

Key Features

  • Battle Frontier Focus: Collect all 7 Gold Symbols by participating in the Battle Frontier challenges.
  • Pokémon Contests: Become a Master Coordinator by dazzling the audience with your Pokémon and berry mixing.
  • Game Corner: Spend your off-time gambling to earn BP, which can be used for rare items, Pokémon, and Secret Base decorations.
  • Generations I-VII Pokémon: Access Pokémon and mechanics from Generations I-VII, ensuring a wide variety of creatures to train and battle with.
  • Battle Frontier Mechanics Upgrade: Includes the Pokémon Emerald Battle Engine Upgrade, improving overall battling mechanics.

Known Bugs & Issues

  • Mega Evolution Bug: If an opponent Mega-Evolves a Pokémon in the Battle Factory and you trade for it, the Pokémon will remain Mega-Evolved instead of reverting to its normal form.
  • Fling Bug: The move Fling works only at a basic level. If you use an Iron Ball, it deals a high amount of damage, but using other items may have no effect or deal normal damage. It doesn't function to inflict status conditions like poison, burn, or flinch.
  • Frisk Ability Bug: Occasionally, when a Pokémon with the Frisk ability is sent out, the game may incorrectly display the wrong Pokémon as the Frisk user.
  • Battle Palace Bug: There is a reported bug where players are unable to challenge the Battle Palace due to a glitch. If this occurs, the developer apologizes, and no immediate fix is available.
