About This ROM Hack

Pokémon Flame of Rebirth is a Game Boy Advance ROM hack of Pokémon FireRed created by Singaara that keeps the original FireRed story intact while replacing most standard Pokémon with fakemon — fan‑designed creatures not found in official games.

Unlike many other fakémon hacks that overhaul the entire roster and mechanics, Flame of Rebirth focuses on a simpler take: injecting new species and variety into familiar gameplay, while keeping the FireRed progression and storyline foundations.

Story Overview

The plot of Flame of Rebirth follows the classic Pokémon FireRed narrative: you begin your journey in Pallet Town, travel through Kanto’s towns and routes, collect Gym Badges, and face the Elite Four. While the core storyline remains largely unchanged, the world feels different thanks to replacement Pokémon, altered type interactions, and aesthetic variety driven by fakemon.

There is no fully developed original narrative or region expansion in this demo release — the game is still in progress, and many features are placeholders or under development.

Key Features

  • Fakemon Replacements: Standard FireRed Pokémon are replaced by original fan‑made monsters with new looks and final evolutions.
  • Starter Evolution Variants: Starter Pokémon each have various final evolutions not seen in the vanilla game.
  • Variant Fakemon Designs: Some fakemon appear in multiple form variations.
  • Gym Limit Variation: Progression currently may consist of up to two or three gym challenges (demo scope).
  • Type Adjustments: Minor adjustments to type weaknesses and strengths have been made to differentiate fakemon battles.
  • Demo‑scale Content: As a demo, the hack includes select fakemon encounters and battle scenarios, including a fight against a character referred to in community notes as Deadpool (likely a custom battle event/placeholder).

Known Bugs & Issues

  • Incomplete Demo: The game is an early demo; many intended features remain unfinished.
  • Limited Gyms: Few gyms are implemented in the demo — progression may feel shorter than a full Pokémon game.
  • Placeholder Events: Battles and events like the Deadpool encounter may represent unfinished content or unfinished scripting.
  • Balancing and Mechanics: Fakemon stats and type balance are experimental and may not feel polished compared to full ROM hacks.
