About This ROM Hack

Pokémon FireRed: Origins is a complete overhaul of FireRed designed for fans who wanted a Kanto-based experience with all first-generation Pokémon catchable, plus added features like Mega Evolution, Gen II Pokémon in the Sevii Islands, and later-generation evolutions (e.g., Yanmega, Sylveon).

This hack integrates mechanics from later generations, including Fairy typing, Physical/Special split, Mega Evolution for first and second generation Pokémon, as well as systems like DNS Day/Night and BW-style Repel system. Capture experience has been reworked to modern standards, making it a challenging yet faithful experience for Pokémon fans.

Story Overview

The story follows the classic Kanto journey: you start in Pallet Town, choose your starter, and set off to defeat Gym Leaders, battle rivals, and stop Team Rocket.

Omega-like post-game expansions are not present, but Johto Pokémon are available in the Sevii Islands, giving players a broader range of creatures to train while exploring familiar regions. Key characters like Rival, Giovanni, Sabrina, and the Elite Four now utilize Mega Evolution, increasing the challenge for experienced players.

Hidden items, event locations like Treasure Beach, and key Mega Evolution stones are placed thoughtfully to reward exploration. Certain quests, such as obtaining HM04 or legendary encounters, require interaction with specific NPCs or items like the Keystone.
