About This ROM Hack
Pokémon: A New Dawn is a story-driven ROM hack with a focus on community-submitted content. The hack uses classic FR/LG-style tiles, intentionally keeping a simpler graphical style while adding unique twists to the world.
The game introduces a multi-chapter, player-influenced storyline, where players can submit side stories or main story arcs to be included in future versions. This hack is still unfinished, with maps, storylines, and mechanics actively being developed.
Story Overview
Prologue
A calamity known as the Eternal Night occurred when the Arcanate Machine, corrupted by the Black Stone, turned the sun dark. Team Night orchestrated this disaster, but a young orphan from Southfalls City thwarted their plans.
Main Story
Three years after the Eternal Night, the Altar Region has recovered and prospered. Four young adults begin their journey as students of Professor Rose of Altar Insula.
However, remnants of Team Night and mysterious Shadow Pokémon begin to rise, threatening the peace of the region. When Professor Rose mysteriously disappears, the students are forced down dark and unpredictable paths, confronting the shadowy forces and uncovering the secrets of the corrupted Pokémon.
