About This ROM Hack
Pokémon Cobalt is a story-driven FireRed ROM hack set primarily in the brand-new Felith Region, with strong narrative ties to Hoenn and the Legendary Beasts. The hack focuses on modernized mechanics, cross-generational Pokémon, and an ambitious storyline involving ancient relics capable of reshaping the world.
Although the project entered an indefinite hiatus, Beta 1.4 remains a substantial and content-rich build that showcases the developer’s vision, featuring updated battle systems, new regions, and experimental mechanics not commonly seen in FireRed hacks of its era.
Story Overview
Entei, Raikou, and Suicune—known collectively as the Legendary Beasts—each guard a powerful relic: the Molten Garnet, Arctic Lapis-Lazuli, and Charged Topaz. When united, these artifacts possess catastrophic power, capable of altering continents, draining oceans, and flattening mountains.
A mysterious organization known as Team Aura seeks to capture the Legendary Beasts and harness this unimaginable energy.
You play as a young trainer from the Felith Region, following in the footsteps of your brother, who became the Felith Pokémon League Champion years ago. After choosing Treecko, Torchic, or Mudkip, your journey begins—one that will lead you through Felith, into Hoenn, and even into a virtual world, as you uncover Team Aura’s true intentions and strive to become a Pokémon Champion yourself.
