About This ROM Hack

Pokémon Black & White Advanced is a fan-made GBA remake of the original Generation V Pokémon games (Pokémon Black & White).

Development of this project has been officially discontinued, as the developer decided to restart the remake from scratch to create a more accurate and faithful recreation of the original Nintendo DS titles. This new and improved version is now known as Pokémon Black (& White) Redux.

Although cancelled, Black & White Advanced showcased significant progress, unique mechanics, and Gen V-inspired visuals that laid the groundwork for its successor.

Progress updates and development previews were shared through the original project’s Discord server, now renamed Vytron’s Romhacking Department.

Story Overview

The game follows the core storyline of Pokémon Black & White, while incorporating selected elements from Pokémon Black 2 & White 2 and other Pokémon titles to enhance variety and presentation.

Several story elements were altered for uniqueness.
For example:

  • The player would have only one rival, depending on the version played.
  • New events and narrative moments exclusive to this remake were planned.
