About This ROM Hack
Pokémon Legends Delta is a full team project reimagining Hoenn during an Industrial Revolution-era — custom tiles, sprites, music, scripts, the whole thing. It's one of the more ambitious setups in the scene.
The core idea is interesting: civilization is expanding, but Pokémon are still wild and unpredictable, and the tension between those two things drives everything. You're playing as Rangers, trying to keep the balance while the world industrializes around you.
The demo runs two protagonists with separate campaigns. Nolan is the leader of the Delta Division of Rangers — Hoenn's strongest trainer and an ancestor of Brendan. Orerick is a battle prodigy and the son of Mr. Stone, deeply tied to Hoenn's expansion project. Both stories kick off in the aftermath of a meteor impact at Sootopolis, which has been emitting energy that's making Pokémon increasingly aggressive.
On the mechanical side it brings Mega Evolutions, a day/night cycle, new Pokémon and Fakémon, and redesigned routes and cities — all sitting on a Vanilla+ foundation that keeps things feeling grounded rather than overwhelming.
It's a demo, so there's only so much to play through right now. But for a project at this stage, the scope of what's already here is hard to ignore.
Story Overview
Hoenn is entering a new era, one where humans and Pokémon are forced into closer contact due to industrial expansion. A catastrophic meteor strike on Sootopolis Island altered Pokémon behavior, creating chaos across the region.
Players follow Nolan and Orerick as they confront these new threats. Nolan must lead the Delta Rangers to protect citizens and Pokémon, while Orerick investigates the effects of the meteor on the ecosystem and Pokémon behavior.
Throughout their journeys, players explore new areas, encounter unique and alternate Pokémon forms, and deal with outbreaks, rogue Mega-evolved Pokémon, and environmental hazards. The dual campaign structure allows for two perspectives on the story, highlighting the tension between humans, Pokémon, and industrial progress.
