Pokémon Mystique is a weather-focused adventure hack that tasks players with investigating unusual weather events across the Eienn region. The hack incorporates mechanics from all Pokémon generations, weather effects, and comfort features from pokeemerald-expansion.
Story Overview
You are assigned by the Weather Institute to the Eienn region, where unusual and extreme weather events are wreaking havoc. Your mission is to investigate the cause, confront rampaging Pokémon, and uncover the mystery behind these anomalies.
The plot contains spoilers from the Pokémon Horizons anime, specifically the Mega Voltage arc (dub: Season 3: Rising Hope). Players who wish to avoid story spoilers should proceed carefully.
Your journey will involve battling trainers, managing weather-affected Pokémon, and uncovering the cause behind the disturbances threatening the region.
Key Features
- Weather Effects: Several Pokémon from all generations are available, with weather effects like harsh sunlight and hail affecting battles and gameplay.
- Multiple Starters: At the start, you’ll receive several starter Pokémon from your boss, adding flexibility to your early team.
- Time-Based Evolutions: No need to wait for a specific time of day! Pokémon like Espeon and Umbreon can evolve by using Sun or Moon Shards instead of waiting for the right in-game time.
- Freedom to Nickname: You can freely nickname any Pokémon in your party, including traded Pokémon.
- Move Relearner/Deleter: A move relearner/deleter is available in the first town, giving you control over your Pokémon’s moves.
- Specialty Shops: Access to all Poké Balls, Evolution Stones, and berries is available through specialty shops throughout the game.
- Comfort Features: Includes features from the PokeEmerald Expansion, such as the physical-special split and more.
- Trade Evolutions No Longer Require Trading: Pokémon that normally evolve via trading (e.g., Porygon2) now evolve tradeless, making the process simpler.
- Castform's Form Changes: Castform will now change forms in the overworld based on the weather, providing added immersion and utility.
Known Bugs & Issues
- Trainer Re-battles: Some trainers do not have line-of-sight, which is a sacrifice due to bugs in the regular trainer battle system. This is an intentional feature.
- Save Compatibility: Older saves may need to load properly, and you may need to leave areas like the greenhouse for things to work correctly.
- Final Boss Cutscene Fix: If you previously defeated the final boss and the cutscene didn’t trigger, simply talk to the boss again to see the proper ending cutscene.
