About This ROM Hack
Pokémon RE:Verse is a reimagined take on Pokémon FireRed, developed using Hex Maniac Advance. Rather than expanding FireRed in a traditional way, this hack restructures Kanto’s geography entirely, offering a fresh experience while preserving the nostalgic identity of the original game.
The project is the developer’s second ROM hack, following Pokémon Red Everywhere. RE:Verse focuses on map reordering, quality-of-life improvements, modern mechanics, and experimental systems, while intentionally retaining the original 151 Pokémon. This version represents the final update, as future development will move to a new engine base.
Story Overview
Pokémon RE:Verse retains the core FireRed storyline, but presents it through a restructured Kanto region. Familiar towns such as Pallet Town, Viridian City, and others still exist, but their locations, routes, and connections have been altered, forcing players to relearn the region.
Inspired by Pokémon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, the Seven Islands have been expanded and merged with mainland towns to create seven large islands and several smaller ones. The post-game expands the narrative further, allowing the player to defend their Champion title and even become a Gym Leader.
