A reference guide to useful codes for Sacred Gold and Storm Silver, designed for ease of gameplay. These are not intended to make the game easier — just more convenient.

All codes for the American HeartGold & SoulSilver will work for Sacred Gold & Storm Silver. The codes listed here are personal recommendations. However, the Game IDs for SG/SS differ from the originals, which matters for those playing on flashcarts:

Quick Screen Change

Speeds up the transition animation when entering or exiting buildings. Use this if you really want to shave time off your playthrough.

Skips the Pokémon Center healing animation — your Trainer hands over their Pokémon and gets them straight back, with no intermediate cutscene.


Gauge Bar Animation Cut

Counters the notoriously slow HP bars of Generation IV. Once a Pokémon has a sufficiently high max HP, the bar will jump straight to its final value instead of scrolling. This also affects the EXP bar. Note that some sound effects may be cut as a result.
