About This ROM Hack
Pokémon Paradox Platinum is a Pokémon Platinum fusion hack that replaces the standard Pokémon roster with fusion-based designs. Rather than creating a new region or altering the game's progression, the project's main objective is to reimagine Pokémon from Generations I through IV as combinations of two different species.
The hack keeps the familiar Sinnoh adventure intact while introducing an entirely new visual experience through custom fusion sprites. As development progressed, the creator also began combining Pokémon base stats alongside their appearances, making the fusions more than simple graphical replacements.
Since this is still an Alpha release, development is incomplete and only part of the Pokédex has been converted into fusion Pokémon. The developer also notes that Pokémon names and in-game text had not yet been modified during this stage of development.
Key Features
Fusion-Based Pokémon: Pokémon throughout the game are redesigned as fusions of two different Pokémon species.
Generations I–IV Focus: The project aims to include Pokémon from the first four generations, all redesigned with fusion concepts.
Original Platinum Adventure: The story, region, and overall progression remain faithful to Pokémon Platinum.
Custom Fusion Sprites: Pokémon receive new fusion appearances, creating a fresh visual experience while exploring Sinnoh.
Fused Base Stats: Beginning with later alpha versions, Pokémon base stats are also merged alongside their new fusion designs.
Expanding National Pokédex Coverage: Each release increases the number of completed fusion Pokémon available in the game.
Known Bugs & Issues
The hack is currently in Alpha 1.1, so it is still incomplete.
- Incomplete Fusion Coverage: Only part of the Pokédex has been converted into fusion Pokémon.
- Evolution Placeholder Issue: Allowing Starly to evolve results in a normal Staravia instead of a fusion version.
- Evolution Placeholder Issue: Allowing Buizel to evolve results in a normal Floatzel instead of a fusion version.
- Unmodified Names and Text: At this stage of development, Pokémon names and some in-game text have not yet been updated to match the fusion designs.
- Additional undocumented issues may exist due to the project's alpha status.
