About This ROM Hack
Pokémon Fire Red Elementary is a Vanilla+ Pokémon FireRed ROM hack that modernizes the original Generation III experience while preserving its familiar structure and progression. Rather than introducing a new region or storyline, the hack focuses on updating FireRed with mechanics and conveniences inspired by later Pokémon generations.
The game includes all 386 Pokémon obtainable, Generation VI battle mechanics and move updates, improved graphics, numerous quality-of-life features, and a more balanced gameplay experience. Pokémon have been reworked with updated learnsets, abilities, and base stats to make more species competitively viable while still maintaining the overall feel of the original FireRed adventure.
Difficulty has also been increased, particularly during major boss encounters, making the game more engaging for experienced players without completely changing the classic Kanto journey.
