About This ROM Hack
Pokemon Scandal –LIVE TOUR– is an ambitious FireRed ROM hack developed by Project SCANDAL. Inspired by the Japanese rock band SCANDAL, the project blends Pokémon gameplay with a completely original setting, war-themed storytelling, and elements of Japanese culture. Rather than simply retelling FireRed's story, it introduces an entirely different world with its own history, characters, locations, and atmosphere.
The project takes place long after a devastating conflict known as "The Invasion," leaving the once-proud Nihon Region in ruins. The player explores the island of Melmond, formerly part of the region known as Shikoku, where survival has become just as important as battling Pokémon.
Although the hack was introduced as the creator's passion project and showcases several original mechanics and ideas, the available release is an early teaser, and the developer noted that completion was uncertain at the time. As a result, many planned features may not be fully implemented in the publicly available version.
Story Overview
Seventeen years have passed since "The Invasion," a catastrophic war that shattered the Nihon Region and left it struggling to survive. Once a proud nation, Nihon has become vulnerable, with neighboring powers seeking to conquer its valuable lands and strategic location.
Years earlier, warriors from across the Nihon Archipelago united to defend their homeland. They fought bravely until the very end, but their sacrifice ultimately failed to stop the invasion. Their campaign ended in tragedy, leaving the nation broken.
You begin your journey on Melmond, a large island that once belonged to the Nihon Region under the name Shikoku. Your father was celebrated as one of the greatest Samurai Warriors of his generation, but he disappeared during the war. Some believe he gave his life protecting you and your mother against overwhelming odds, while others claim he abandoned the battlefield and fled as a coward.
As life slowly continues, the famous all-female Japanese rock band SCANDAL arrives in Melmond to perform a Live Tour in hopes of lifting the spirits of a people scarred by war.
Behind the music, however, the world remains dangerous. Every journey is a struggle for survival, and every decision carries consequences. In this land, there are no second chances. Whether you become a hero remembered by history or someone who simply survives is entirely up to you.
